Synopsis
Kiritani Shuji is the popular guy who gets along with everyone, from the jerks to the nerds to the just plain weird. The one person Shuji cannot stand is Kusano Akira. To Shuji, Akira is just plain annoying. He laughs, talks and acts funny. Things heat up when a new student comes to school. Her name is Kotani Nobuko, a girl who has no self confidence at all and is content at being made fun of and bullied in school. Shuji and Akira come to an accord that in order to make use of their "youth" they will "produce" Nobuko as the next popular girl. One of the conditions, however, is that nobody should find out that they are working together as a team to make this concept possible. Unveiled here is the story of true friendship between three unlikely candidates who would not have been friends if not given the special circumstances.

I've seen the three eps aired till now and I must say I got addicted. This dorama looks great! The plot itself might not seem very interesting... But really, you should see it, it's a weird but very funny, original dorama

Me, too!
I love the way Akira (wacko rich boy) gets on Shuji's nerve. And, how Nobuta's (loser girl) depressive views on life really scares Shuji off his seat. I couldn't believe the extend Shuji willing to sacrifice just so he can "produce" a superstar out of a loser girl.

i quite like this series as well.

i wonder if nobuta is gona end up with akira or shuji??

Akira is so cool!! i like the way he's kindda crazy...when he first came out, i thought he was a drug addict and was high on drugs or something....turns out he's just always like this...so cute!!...friend recommended this series to me...it seemed kindda boring in the beginning actually...maybe because my friend made it sound too great...but once i got through 1/2 the episode it started getting interesting!!

o, forgot to ask...i just randomly (after my friend recommended it) started to dl the series...when does it come out...judging by the number of episodes it comes out weekly ryt? which day does it come out exactly?

If i'm not mistaken, it airs every saturday and usually posted on torrents on the same day. Anybody can confirm this?

I absolutely LOVE this drama! I'm d/l the 4th episode, cant wait to see it!! Before i saw this drama, i was totally in love with Kame, but after seeing the first episode, i just can't choose between Yamapi and Kame >.<

Ahh! just finished watching episode 4! Akira is so cool!! no offence, but he acts stupid but he's so cool!! Hides his skills!! He's so cute when he points somewhere else and then punches the dude...hehe...love all his lil hand gestures!

i love the bit where akira taught nobuta to say and pose ,' NOBUTA POWER , FILL UP!' It was so funny that nobuta did exactly that before she has the courage to talk to her bullies.

agree!! my friends were like trying to imitate him in school...it's funny how he even twists a lil when he does the pose...aww...just so cute...and then the bit at the very end of episode 4..ppl who watched it will know...when he finds out...he's so cute, he keeps going like "really? really?"

I'm really enjoying this jodrama. Akira's hilarious - he's always high on soy milk and he's always annoying Shuji. Shuji wearing that green outfit and Akira wearing the pink leopard-prints shirt .. priceless.. HAHA I had a great laugh when Shuji was drinking soy milk with Akira. I'm now downloading episode 3. I am still wondering who's the one being mean to Nobuta. Nobuta's pretty cute.
p/s: can someone tell me where to get the chinese subs for this drama?

Kame and Yamapi ^^.. I've got a the first 2 episodes of this, but I haven't had a chance to watch it yet.... I had a skip through.. Yamapi looks really trippy during those scences

Nobuta power!!! wahhh cuteness!! gosh i love watching this series. Kamapi is sooo kawaiii!! haha...Its so stupid taht its actuallly funny and i love AKIRA!!! i love him to death. He sound like a drunk but w/e i love how he's always there for nobuta. And he even gave everyone matching planner with a piggy on it. NobutaxAkira!!!

I'm still wondering tho, is Akira the green piggy or the pink piggy? Somehow both pigs are kinda ditzy, especially the hallway scene.

i think the green one is akira and the pink one is shuji because the pink one seems to be in a bit more control, a bit more....sober , i know that's the wrong word to use but i can't think of another one. Shuji is the dominant one , always on the case!

akira is so cute though!

It was kinda obvious on the second episode...or third episode where they wore that outfit so nobuta will cut her hair

episode 6 was really cool!! lots of akira!! i love it!! akira's character is soo cool and deep...especially at the end...and their goals for the future thing...so touching....this series really makes u think....*plus, a lil mini spoiler* the piggie keychain is sooooo cute...wish i can get one....lol....even though it won't be handmade by yamapi...lol

The book is like totally different from the drama. HAHAH...if you read the book you will know what i mean. Like for instance, nobuta is actually a guy and there is no akira and nobuta (the girl)

But no one die in the book. So i don't think anyone will die in the drama....unless its another one of those surprise attack like what we see with a lot of tvb series...then it will be different. HAHA but the book doesn't have a happy ending but no one die at least ^^

has anyone watched the Seishun Amigo MV ? which one do u think it's the better dancer, akira or shuji? shuji's brother is in the MV as well ! That was unexpected ! He danced quite well for a kid his age.

this is such a great serie I really love both guys and just can't wait to see the next episodes, Together with HYD, both shows are great

I usually get turned off by dramas with overused plots, but this one is saved by the acting of the three leads lol. All of them make this show awfully compelling, and I was hooked by the 2nd episode! Yamapi`s character is very unique and cute, and I`ve never seen him in this kind of role before. I can`t wait for episode 7 to be aired!

I DID!! haha i like the the song so much! but for some reason the MV doesn't match with the song >< i think its just me though because i like yamapi more i say he's a better dancer And shuuji lil brother is in the group YAYAYA ^^ he's really cute! haha

Pink piggie , of course u r gona say yamapi is better because u ~LUV him! and i would have to agree. they are both wearing very bright and girly colours in the MV (OMG and those white pants)but somehow.....i know i should say this and would get kill because of it .....somehow i've got a very gay-vibe from shuji. (must be the long hair)

What does everybody think of this?

I watched the PV and my eyes were just glued to Yamapi the whole time. I wasn't really a fan of either Yamapi or Kame yet, so I am not biased. Yamapi seems to be a better dancer and is more macho, and his voice is actually nicer too (less girly like Kame's voice). I dunno, I like guy who isn't soo skinny, Kame should put on a little more weight, because he's soo skinny he actually looks gay to me when he dances, lol.

The MV for seishun amigo was alright. But when I watched the live performance of them doing that song, I thought it was a bit weird. Haha. Kamenashi looks a bit girly, maybe cos of his mascara or his cheekbones. Who's the bad girl? Issit Mariko .. or the girl who gave Nobuta the anko taiyaki!?

Welpz! Almost a week!! new epi. coming soon!! *sigh* epi. 6 was so nice...I think it was very touching and it really makes you think about the future...also...akira isn't high on soy milk anymore!! he's very serious at the end...so sad....hope their friendship will last...yup..my new goal in life: to be a ten dollar coin on the streets...

Also, Pink Piggie, the books totally different? i thought it'd be similar...was gonna go hunt for it in all the major bookstores this weekend...but now i'm not sure...kindda wanted to read it to see how the book described akira's character...but if he's not even in it...mmm...is it worth a read though?

Yeah I was quite surprised that Yamapi got less "drunk" in the last few episodes. He seems more serious and mature.. but somehow I like his old character more lol. That was what drew me to the series in the first place!

The book is pretty good. But like don't expect it to be like the drama because its totally different as i mention before. There is no akira, nobuta is actually a guy. And shuuji transfer to another school in the end. He didn't die...as we all thought shuuji or akira would in the drama =="

Anyway, the series will have a different ending. I mean they did change most of everything in the book. So lets hope they have a good ending. ^^ I'm all for akira*nobuta pairing ^^
