DESCRIPTION:

Massive suspension of disbelief is required for Summer I Love You, a romantic drama/fantasy starring Richie Ren and Candy Lo. Lo is Ching, who's been depressed for two years following an auto accident where she was the driver and her two friends were passengers. Now the only survivor, she wastes her time on the ICQ, chatting meaninglessly with complete and total strangers. One stranger, named Lek, senses her lonely and isolated existence and asks her to visit his island resort in Thailand. Without much hesitation, she agrees and hops on a plane to meet her new Internet buddy.

Lek turns out to be a wheelchair bound hunk embodied by romantic comedy regular Richie Ren. He was also in an auto accident years ago, but he's emotionally recovered and lives life happily despite his handicapped ways. He wants to help the pretty, but distant Ching, and does his best to draw her out of her shell. Helping him are a variety of hackneyed and annoying island types, including the cutesy old couple, the fat pal, and the jealous hottie. Ching is resistant at first, but Lek's charm and easygoing manner win her over. She begins to smile again, but not before the required tragedy rears its ugly head. Lek's condition worsens, threatening to paralyze him fully.

Luckily, licensed quack Dr. Lai (Joe Cheung) has a daring medical procedure which may fully cure Lek. He's discovered unnamed microorganisms which could repair Lek's nerves. However, the microorganisms first need a human host to incubate, and Dr. Lai is nervous of any possible side effects. Realizing that her life is incomplete without an attempt to help Lek, Ching decides to help him no matter what. And, if the cost of her resolve is being victimized by an illegal medical procedure, so be it.

I thought that this was a pretty good movie! I just saw this yesterday so it's still fresh in my mind....

i thought that this was a good change from the usually comedy movies from hong kong...

It's a sweet love story!

derek Yee is a very good director, where almost all the movie (mostly melo-drama) are excellent produce. THough i didn't really like this movie found it a little boring.

yeah ... didnt expect the movie to turn out the way it did... i didn't realize at the time that it was a Derek Yee movie...does anyone know if this movie was a sequel to Summer Holiday with Richie and Sammi? maybe not... because its a totally different story line... but the names seem to be the same...

I really like these movies. It's a feel good movie. After such a movie i always get the feeling that I want to watch it again.

nice movie. although i watched it a few years back but still yeah not bad..

Good chemistry between the two lovers, standard romance movie, still worth to watch and to own the DVD. Shot at beautifull locations.

this was a great movie, and move important of all it had meanings in it.

Well i dont think is all that but its quite a sad ending.

the story is so boring i would not recomend it at all. i thought it would be a story similar to summer holiday.

this movie was really sad....it was sweet too how candy would rather her suffer then him hehe richie was really good in this movie..his accent was soo kute! hehehe but this movie got kind of blah in the end..didnt like how they made candy ugly...and old

Boring movie with simple story. Watch it only if u really got nothing better to do.

it was such a sad movie! candy lo isn't that good in acting, but i always thought that she had was like an "cool" kind of girl. i like her attitude, though! i don't really like ritchie.. =3=;;

i love this movie, the actors are good and the ending was suprise for me
