"Specialized Martial Arts Family" is still a working title. This movie is still in post-production. Im still looking for some info about this movie but not many are available yet. All i know for now is that this is kinda an action flick and that Gillian was chosen for this because she is being eyed as the future female action star..or something like that :P

Heres some more information

About the Film :

After paying tribute to the Hong Kong gangster films of the 80s in his directing debut Enter the Phoenix, Stephen Fung continues to travel down nostalgia lane, this time bathing in the warmth of kungfu films of the Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan era. Through his exploration of a modern martial arts single-parent family, Stephen the Gen-Xer has refreshed a genre that has shaped the psyche of more than one generation with the bright young eyes of a believer.

Joining Stephen on screen are two-time Best Actor Award winner Anthony Wong who is lesser known for his karate black belt and Shaolin merged with monkey style kungfu history, New Police Story's Daniel Wu who was the founder of a Wushu club and a keen participant of collegiate Wushu competitions, and the fastest rising new martial arts princess Gillian Chung from Twins Effect.

With full support from his producer Jackie Chan, Stephen gains Hollywood action choreographer Yuen Wo Ping of Matrix fame as his martial arts advisor. Legendary martial arts actor-director Wu Ma, best known for his performance in A Chinese Ghost Story, also agrees to a special appearance.

Synopsis :

On the surface, Teddy Yu (Anthony Wong) is a Chinese chiropractor and a single-parent. His kids Nicky (Stephen Fung), a dolphin trainer at Ocean Park and Natalie (Gillian Chung), a highschool student, learn the art of kungfu from their father, but are unconvinced of their father's claim to a secret life as a heroic body guard for retired agents. When the father tries to provide too much and the kids are tired of all the bragging, the family is not going to be a harmonious one.

Until one day, Rocco (Michael Wong) arrives in his wheelchair, asking Teddy for information on ex-agent Dragon. Knowing that Dragon interrupted Rocco's mission twelve years ago which cost Rocco his legs, Teddy's lips are sealed. Rocco leaves in silence but four kungfu experts return and successfully capture Teddy after an almost even fight. Drugged and tortured, Teddy finally reveals that the data of the retired agents is hidden in his kids' lucky charms.

Rocco's men are immediately dispatched to Natalie's school but they are no match for the brother and sister team. Natalie discovers a memory card inside her lucky charm and suspects it is a clue to their father's disappearance. However, her boyfriend Jason (Daniel Wu) is unable to read the file because it is incomplete. They immediately return to Ocean Park with their friend May (Charlene Choi) to pick up Nicky's charm only to find more of Rocco's men waiting for them. Unable to accomplish the feat by force, Rocco reverts to Plan B and threatens to kill Teddy unless the kids can find Dragon for him.

When the computer file is completed, Nicky and Natalie realize that Dragon is actually their father's long-time friend Tide (Wu Ma). The spy stories they grew up with finally have recognizable faces. Their father is telling the truth afterall. Just when they are planning to pay Tide a visit, Jason locks them up in a room and goes to meet Tide on his own. Jason's motive becomes the new mystery Nicky and Natalie have to solve before they can save their father.

this movie wasn't that bad, but i don't think the plot was too original though

the fights scenes were pretty cool and i think everyone fought/acted pretty well, minus daniel who always annoys me

and i just wish that charlene had a larger role cause she always seems to liven up the movie

this movie was also really funny at points, i especially like the scenes where stephen and gillian fight with each other, like for the remote and when stephen is mocking gillian

wow!!! i just watched this film last night, its soo cool!!!

i think charlene should've had a better role like more important. on the posters and in some of the photos at promotions, it looked like she was to know kung fu in the film but she dont >.<
she should be hangin around with stephen a bit more XD

gillian was too good in the film, she beat up stephen !!! in the film the martial arts she know is it 'tai chi' ??? it loked like it to me, but can someone confirm this for me because its probably not any martial art XD she punched through glass !!!

daniel should've had a better role too, role at least fight with that old man (cant remember his name...tai chi leung or sumit??)

all in all though, i thought this was a very good film, start was a bit wierd though XD

improvement from stephen on his previous work, but can be better and maybe should add some special moves to each character perhaps? make more unique maybe and also worth a try at the cinemas if u have not watched it, support stephen...

just watched this movie recently..
i have to commend the choreogrpahy in this movie. it's kinda kool seeing kung fu like this back into the movie industry. the movie is directed by stephen fung which i think he did pretty well.
the storyline is rather not that good... too typical i gotta say....
it's really nothing much to it.... if u love those typical kung fu movie, this is a definate movie to watch.
what i love most about this movie is the fighting scenes especially with chicks :D:D:D

i what give this movie a 3.5/5

have watched this film twice, once in chinese and another in cantonese. frankly, the chinese dubbing is quite bad because in the original cantonese version of the show, there's quite an amount of dialogue in english but the chinese version dubbed all these into chinese which kinda made watching the film weird because you can obviously see the actor's mouth mouthing english but ya can only hear chinese.

this show is an improvement on stephen fung's first directorial effort "enter the phoenix" because of the great action scenes but i feel that the plot is not really original. yes, film plots usually arent original but when ya compare house of fury's mixture of incredibles with kungfu with enter the phoenix's rather unique plot of a gay triad leader, i think the latter wins on originality.

however, the show is rather funny and hilarious at parts (even though i still think enter the phoenix was funnier) but i think ya can sense an improvement in the skills of the director and the use of different camera angles and shots. the sound effects are quite good though maybe a bit too good. the movie likes to use a lot of glass shattering so many times i was cringing at the all too realistic splintering sounds.

the actors are not bad, with anthony wong really believable as his good father and husband role. gillian amazingly showed her kungfu prowess while the old man (chao(2) shu(1)) in the show had a quite amazing scene where his qinggong was so good he looked like he was flying.

however, daniel wu doesnt look that good here which is a waste of his good looks and sadly his cantonese hasnt improved either, but that helps to provide new jokes bout his lousy cantonese. stephen is cute as his big brother who likes charlene secretly and always gets tricked by her but his hairstyle is quite erm looking like someone took a bowl, put it on his head and then cut around it. :P

all in all, it's still an entertaining film which i'll recommend everyone to watch if ya want a good laugh and nice slick kungfu action~ :>

yeah, entertaining. Although I was disappointed by the end. Plot too generic and predictable. Alot of action scenes though, with wire work involved. The wire work looked weird as usual. The fights were better when they were on the ground. It was funny in places too. I agree that Enter The Phoenix is better.

Anthony Wong knows Kung-fu in real life(Tai Shing Pek Kwar Muen). You can see him do real moves in movies like "Just One Look" and "U-Man". But I'm sick of Twins doing kung-fu.

Wow! Anthony Wong knows kung fu in real life? I had no idea! That's pretty cool, I think I'll watch him more carefull next time I want one of his movies.... Also, I think Gillian is pretty flexible, so she would probabily do a good job of action scenes.

Yeah very 'entertaining', a great commericial movie if you ask me. Sure theres a bit of humour, a few good looking fight scenes but its all a bit dopey and stupid. especially with Michael Wong as the 'villain' [wtf was Stephen thinking!] Its only his second time directing though and theres alot of room for improvement, Enter the Phoenix was better compared to this imo. Though the star actor cast also has a part in the marketing of the movie especially with the 'cute', 'pretty', 'beautiful', 'so damn hot' Twins.

LoveHKfilm.com said:

There's a place reserved in every country's cinema for throwaway crap like this, and House of Fury fits that bill just fine.

this line sums it up for me.

I thought House of Fury was a entertaining movie, compared to all the HK movies out this year, which might not be saying much since most of the stuff they've been churning out lately have been crap. But never the less, I liked House of Fury. Anthony Wong was excellent as always, the fighting scenes between Gillian and Stephen were entertaining, and there were a few scenes in the film that were really quite funny. The only complaints that I had about the film were Michael Wong (his acting was so wooden and he practically spoke in a monotone voice the whole time) and Charlene Choi ( Her character was very unecessary, the whole smoking, lolita act was really annoying). I think Stephen is a talented director, and i'm looking forward to more movies from him.

This movie offers some good fighting scenes but thats about it. The plot is boring and full of plot holes. I think they tried to inject some depth into the movie and make it more dramatic but it just ends up being corny and overly melodramatic. The acting is alright, no one really stands out except Anthony Wong. Again I must return to the plot because it is what bothers me the most. A lot of the stuff don't make sense and extremely unrealistic. I know I'm being too critical about a movie but the plot at least have to be somewhat believable. The plot seems like it was rip straight off some kid movie. Overally I did enjoy this movie mainly because of the numerous fight scenes. They are very well choreographed with the exception of Gillian's. She needs to work on making her scenes more natural and less choreographed. If you're an action fan and dont mind the rediculously childish plot then you'll enjoy this movie.

I just watched the movie, and its awsome. I loved the fighting scenes especially the ones with Gillian.

Finally a good movie. I havn't seen any good movies lately.

There his hilarious/random part .. omg lol i couldnt' stop laughing. It was when Daniel was trying knock Tai-chi lung down with bricks and he missed the first brick and hit a taxi cab. The taxi cab responded with a "WTF" ..... it was so random and funny

great action scenes but the story is kinda lacking. Gillian looked really good doing the action scenes and has a real future as an HK action star.

lol...yeah that was one of the funny parts of the film.
I really like the film, Ah Gil's acting has improved alot and the fighting scenes were pretty good since the action director was fromYeun Woo Peng (Matrix and Kill Bill) although the story was pretty predictable and the villan (michael wong) was pathetic -_-

This movie is actually quite good, which I found to be a bit of a surprise. Normally not a Twins fan, I didn't have much of an expectation for this one, but I was wrong. The action scenes are quite nice, especially the ones with Stephen and Gillian. A bit on the fictional side when it comes to certain scenes (leaping old man  ), but all in all, a thoroughly enjoyable movie. I agree with those who commented that Gillian's acting has improved/matured a bit in this movie. At this time, I'd have to say she's a much better actress than Charlene. And Anthony Wong is good, as always.

Gillian fight in this movie very great, this time she don't ackt like a child.. more mature and l like it.

l didn't know that Gillian can fight that great, she most have practis very hard.

and for her partner Charlene, she still act like a child in every movies she make, she most improver her acting skills.. she better lay on singing.

l love every fight seen and the music is great too.

Fung is talented isn't he? Not only be able to act and act pretty well, also instruct the others how to act. Enter the Phoenix was quite interseting. It seems he's doing a very good work. I was impressed by his acting in Green Hope and also by his amazingly pitiful singing haha ... :lol?:

Wow I loved this movie, it was funny, and endearing and the fighting scenes were great all at the same time! Love watching Gillian act, she's absolutely gorgeous and cutesy too, and hahahah Stephen Fung was really cute too and I loved their brother-sister fighting scenes. Would love to watch this movie again, and hopefully in Cantonese this time, Singapore should really start showing Hong Kong movies in Canto, and not dub it into Mandarin all the time... <_<

LOL but yea i guess it could be better. the fighting was pretty good....but lack of dialogue...i wished they showed more daniel wu. :( and the guy in the wheel chair pissed the crap outta me. seriously, why the hell would u seek revenge if ur an ex-military guy? aren't u supposed to be proud to rep ur country anyways? he just makes me hate americans even more. >:O and his son...WTF...why would u put a friggen white boy doing martial arts in a chinese film? frack!

I love the cast and it's extremely funny! Me, my sister and cousin couldn't stop laughing at the movies during one scene in the dining room while eating dinner. LOL. ~.^
