Ariel Lin hopes to collaborate with Jerry Yan in a new idol drama entitled "Skip Beat", she said that she wants to collaborate with those whom she hasn't worked with before, and plus, Jerry Yan is a really hard-working artist, so she does not need to be too worn-out. This is because she has met artists who were lazy, some of them could not even memorize the script well, while some of them only know how to look at themselves in the mirror.

Ariel attended a charity program yesterday, and had breakfast and lunch with the children there. She, who possesses a kind heart, bought a few coin boxes to support "Mei Ni Jiu Bu Xing*" charity program to assist children living in poorer families.

When Ariel films for dramas, there is not a certain artist who she wants to and does not want to collaborate with. She even has a pretty image of bringing luck to the male artists, because most of them become popular after working with her, and the dramas in which she starred in usually receive high viewing rates. Four years ago, she had a conflict with Mike He, and until now the both of them still have not had the chance to work together again. Last year, there was an original plan of which Jerry Yan and her would collaborate in Hot Shot, but it was canceled as well.

However, faith is a very miraculous thing. "Skip Beat", which is a drama adapted from a Japanese manga, is planning to have Ariel and Jerry as the leading roles. Ariel said, she likes to work with serious artists. She has encountered a collaborator who did not memorize the script well, causing the whole crew to wait for him to finish memorizing on the set. There is also one type of artists who do not even care about whether their performance is good or not, all they know is grooming themselves and looking at the mirror only.

*Mei Ni Jiu Bu Xing: Literally translated as It Is Impossible Without Your Help. It is the name of a charity program that Ariel participated in.

I'm excited for the possible future collaboration with Jerry , although I must admit, I'm curious as to who the artists she's talking about are. She's only had praise previously for her four most recent co-stars: Mike, Joe, Hu Ge and Wu Zun (and they're all hard workers). So, it's possible she's talking about non-lead actors, or actors she worked with when she first started. (She's always seemed to get along with all of her co-leads, though). As for the vanity/looking at oneself in the mirror a lot, I think it's hard to find a leading guy in the e-world who *isn't* somewhat vain/really into his looks (though there are exceptions).

Heh, the song Ariel did with the little kiddies was really cute (especially when she did the motions with them)... "If you're happy and you know it..."

ooo YAY!!!! i was just posting yesterday that i would love to see a jerry - ariel collaboration!! if thisgets confirmed then it will be great news!! its always nice to see a fresh couple that you know would look compatible and who get along well off screen coz this means they will haveamazing chemistry on screen!!

ehhe..hmmi trying to guess who ariel is takling about, i hope its none of the male leads she's starred with previously coz i would hate for it to create conflict btwn them and they all seem like such great guys!

i might have said this countless of times, but whichever guy that is able to work alongside her is very lucky.

The lazy collaborator is probably a non-lead like swimfishyswim06 suggested. It would be quite awkward if she was referring to major leads like Wu Zun, Joe or Mike. Plus, I don't think she would say this out if she was talking about popular artists since it will probably stir up controversy again.

I kinda think Jerry and Ariel are a mismatched pair. Sorry... hahaha... probably physically. Because I've always think Jerry suits models (Chi Ling). Not saying Ariel isn't pretty but she is more like the cute and polite kind of girl. I must have watched too much of ArJoe or WuZun+Ariel to keep linking them together.

However, considering both Jerry and Ariel are really good artists I hope they produce extraordinary chemistry on-screen. I think the choices are confirmed, at least that's how I decipher from the article. Everything seems like it's prepared.

By the way, Ariel is so sweet for helping out at the charity! I've always thought that she is a great person and not too snobbish to pose assistance to those in need! Proud of her!

usher01rivera, I agree! I really like the idea of Ariel and Jerry working together, because they're such hard workers and dedicated to their craft. Eh, but I'm not sure that Skip Beat would be the ideal drama for them. Ariel can play a 16-year-old no problem, but I would like to see her and Jerry in roles that are closer to their age. I know they can both pull off the acting for the Skip Beat roles, but I'd ideally like to see them in a more serious drama. But hey, if Skip Beat is the only thing they can collaborate on together, I'll take it

I agree. GTV should come up with a story & script specially tailored for both of them instead of adapting from a manga. If I am not mistaken, Hot Shot was not adapted from any manga. And Jerry's next project Starlit was also not adapted from a manga.

usher01rivera, I know what you mean... the first point would worry me, too... it's tough to compete with really established pairings. In my opinion, though, if they were BOTH cast, Jerry would play Ren... and Joe would play Sho (the second male lead, who has a serious past with Kyoko, who would be played by Ariel).

Skip Beat is my favorite shoujo manga... truly. The heroine is REALLY atypical, and she doesn't act like a sixteen-year-old at all. The hero (Ren) is also extremely mature... even though he's only twenty.
Taiwanese dramas typically "age" the main characters when they adapt from Japanese mangas... but the "high school" question is actually kind of important to the drama, so it'll be interesting to see how that goes.
There is a lot of depth to both of the main characters, and it'd be GREAT (for me) if Jerry could take it on... *sighs* I'd really be so happy.
(My other dream "pick" for the Ren role-- Ryan Tang-- is probably impossible... as he's not nearly famous enough.)

I know it's not as serious as Jerry's current project, Starlit (actually, how awesome would it have been if Ariel could have been cast for that?), but... From what i read, Jerry has a pretty tight schedule. He just finished HS in early april & due to start filming of Starlit in may. After that, there is the rehearsal for F4's concerts in september & F4's concerts in Japan in october. He also has his annual fan meet session in Hong Kong. And since HS is due to be broadcast in Taiwan & Starlit in China, Jerry also has promo duties for both drama. How will Jerry be able to squeeze time out for filming of Skp Beat???

i LOVed skip beat so muchh..... the story line is the best.... with ren played by jerry.... i really wish it was another actor. it just because i dont like him. sorry no offense.personal opinion but i can assure u all this skip beat manga that i read were the best. the drama would turn up just fine. i know jerry personalities with ren much or less is the same... eg.perfectionist. and with the cool personality. so maybe its best that ren role will be played by jerry.
as for kyoko that will be played by ariel.. i think ariel can do this role,, she's the best.. kyoko character is so funny.. with all those evil thought of kyoko... its so hilarious.

so have fun watching if the live action is come out ^^

ps: i really wish it was someone else play ren role Hiksssss i dont like jerryyyy
