i love this series very much. it's the one of series that make me love HK series.....

esp.... i love Louis and Jessica. They are the best couple in my memory!!!!!

and you? what do you think? let's join!!!!!

story overview :

Shan is a judicious and objective chief inspector, whereas, Fei (Louis Koo) is a self-dependent officer who always acts arbitrarily. Although they have different personalities, Shan intelligently takes advantage of Feiกฆs keen intuition and ample experiences to solve big crimes. On account of Shanกฆs cooperation, Feiกฆs career begins to flourish and he starts to admire Shan. At last, they even become great partners. In their love lives, they both struggled in two different relationships : Fei cannot forget his missing girlfriend, QinQin. Until the emergence of Chiu Kuan, he finally puts down his love towards QinQin and falls in love with Kuan. At the same time, Fei obtains the news of QinQin and immediately falls into a dilemma between his love ones. On the other hand, Shan doesnกฆt want to leave his girlfriend, Lan, alone. So he decides to give up his other girlfriend, Yu, who he truly loves

Yeah I agree with you, DIF 4 is is one of best series. I really enjoyed watching each case and the cast is very good too. I agree that Louis and Jessica do make a good couple in the series. I find that the ending is sad, because they couldn't be together. It's sad that Anne had sacifice herself to prevent Roger from coming back to HK....but I just didn't like that fact that Louis went with her at the end (i know he had no other choices), maybe i just didn't like Anne in the first place

I think this was the first series Anne acted after Ms HK. Don't seem to find any chemistry between Louis and her.

But the chemistry between Louis and Jessica - just unbelievable!!!

Louis is unlikely to be back in TVB, so the chances of DIF V is practically zero. Unless they want to change the whole cast and storyline.

I actually thought Anne's sacrifice was kinda dumb.. I haven't watched this series in a while.. so please correct me if I'm wrong.. She pretended to be with Roger so that he would not return to HK and take revenge on Louis, right? That doesn't make any sense!! Louis is a cop.. he can protect himself.. if anything, wouldn't it seem more like she was trying to protect her own life??

ohmygoodness, i LOVE DIFIV!!! of course it has NOTHING to do with the other DIF trilogy..... a total other series. my goodness, Louis Koo & Jessica Hsuan was so unbelievable! u see, i was already fancing both of them individually before this happened, but this is like a dream come true! their chemistry was amazing! glad that both won favourite actor & actress respectively in 1999's TVB anniversary. clapping.gif

oh, but i hated the ending though... i didn't think Chinchin would be happy anyways if tsui fei went back to her... tvb's twist... aiihs.

This one is not yet my favorite. But I remember clearly falling deeply into their love story. Cases wasnT that impressing if I dare to compare with DIF 1-3 cases. but I would say that DIF4 got really good pairings. All refreshing and looking good on screen. My favorites couples in this serie was Louis-Jessica and Sunny-SanSan. I felt so bad when she died. It was from that serie that I started to dislike Charmaine but not anymore hopefully...

I enjoyed every part with Jess and Louis. Their chemistry was undeniable. My most memorable scene was also in the hospital. I felt all their love and pain during that moment. No wonder they had won award for it !!!! Louis knows to cry !!! and I love him so !!! So bad hes more into movie than serie ...

I just finished watching the recently VCD-released version of Detective Investigation Files IV.. This is the RETAIL version..

Apparently.. the ending where Louis is in the bar and he sees Jessica and Sunny meeting up for a drink got cut. Instead, the series ends with Sunny visiting Lee San San at her grave.

The original ending.. to me.. implied that Sunny and Jessica had a chance of getting together and that Louis still loved Jessica. The new ending implies that Jessica simply accepts Louis and Anne and is moving on with her life. And Sunny will forever love Lee San San.

WHY WOULD TVB SUDDENLY CHANGE THE STUPID ENDING?!?!?! What is the point of owning the retail version if it's gunna be different from the original series?!?! I'm so pissed off................. twisted.gif twisted.gif twisted.gif twisted.gif twisted.gif

Actually, I don't think tvb 'suddenly changed' the ending....because the version I watched back then never had the scene at the bar and ended at lee san san's grave.

Now i'm aware ppl in hk got to see the extra scene after the credits rolled. So what i'm saying is there has always been two versions out there and you just got the one that left out that scene.

For some reason I didn't like that extra scene at the bar anyways. I like how it ended implying that louis was happy to be with anne and sunny is letting time heal the pain of losing sansan, but he knows charmaine still loves him and is a matter of time they get back together.

But with that bar scene, it's like all of a sudden they hook sunny and jessica up and louis is jealous...just doesn't go well for me.

hmm.. the original version that I saw is an US rental.. I liked the ending with the bar scene because it gives Jessica's character a chance at happiness. I didn't feel like either ending implied that Sunny will be with Charmaine though. Oh wells.. I still have the original version I saw on tape.. so I guess I'll be pulling that out soon .. hehe

Thanks for the info.. I never realized that there were 2 versions out there..

i don't remember the exact ending but i remember strongly of the bar scene because to me it gave me a big smile on my face. the bar scene implies that both of them had moved on and there was a possible chance she was going to hook up with sunny because louis left(going to take care of that other girl forever for feeling guilty) and she started talking to sunny in a very flirtacious way. thats what i remember, and to the big smile on my face is because im an "ANTI-jessica/louis." i don't hate louis but i hate seeing them together. and i hate the fact they're literally EVERYONES fav. couple.

sunny is that guy whom his wife died on their wedding ceremony. his wife lee san san was murdered, remember, flashback, ring a bell?

hmm.. that's interesting.. I didn't realize that the bar scene occurred after the credits. I did remember Sunny by San San's grave.. but I assumed that the bar scene just continued from there.. I def have to re-watch the tapes to check out the ending..

haha.. like I said earlier.. I liked the bar scene.. not because I'm anti Jessica/Louis. I did like them together in this series but they are certainly not my FAVORITE couple.. (the spot is reserved for Nadia/Ekin..) I liked this ending because I think that both Jessica and Sunny deserve to be happy.

On another note.. a scene that kind of annoyed me was when Louis dropped by Jessica's place after he had already chosen Anne.. I guess Jessica had asked him to drop by so she could return his house key and he goes all mushy on her and says how he wishes that she would always be the woman who has his house key and then he kisses and hugs her. C'mon Louis.. stop making this harder on the poor girl!! You're supposed to be with Anne now so stop torturing Jessica!! SHEESH.. cluebat.gif

Hmm, so u didn't think sunny and charmaine can get back together again?...

I remember there was one scene near the end when sunny was about to open a door with a bomb attached to a string and at that time charmaine called him b/c she was worried about him and it eventually saved his life. I kno it doesnt seem like much, but it kinda showed how they both needed each other.

I dunno, i thought the scene at san san's grave and sunny looking at the airplane was a symbol that he needs time to get over san san but charmaine is very much in the back of his heart.

I guess with that in mind, seeing sunny and jessica together was a bit weird.

Man, they really need to make part 5 to DIF!!! cool.gif
