Ada Choi is currently filming for "Qi Jian Xia Tian Shan" in Xinjiang (mainland China). Leading actors of this new production include Vincent Zhao and Ray Lui. Ada only brought some vests and a few outfits with her, as she had no idea it could get so cold at night over there. Out of an urgent need, she bought a feather coat to keep her warm.
The shooting location is in Kelamayi, and the transportation is rather incovenient. Ada isn't complaining though, since she likes the nearby desert a lot. She is amazed by the beautiful scenery, and thinks all the hours spent on traveling are worthwhile. The flip side is, the local hotel she lives in only provides hot water from 8pm to midnight every day, and electricity is not guaranteed. Asked how she kills time after work, Ada laughs and answers, "Facial!"

Ada Choi appeared at the airport yesterday as she departed for a gospel show in Vancouver with Catherine Hung. She revealed to the press that earlier whilst filming in Xinjiang and spending mid-autumn there and was asked whether her boyfriend Zhang Jin was there to celebrate with her. She pretended not to hear and said: "Sorry, what was that?" before continuing: "After going for the gospel session in Vancouver, I will be going back to Hengdian to make up some scenes for 'Seven Swords on Tianshan'."
As for the many discussions about the storyline of "War and Beauty", Ada says: "I have heard people say that the four ladies are all very evil and it is very captivating. I would like to watch it myself too." Originally, Ada did have the opportunity to be part of the cast of "War", but she eventually chose to film "To Catch the Uncatchable" instead. When asked if she was disappointed by this, she said: "No, with gains there will be losses and 'To Catch the Uncatchable' was very good. (You were originally the favourite to take the 'favourite female lead award' this year, but now you have four opponents?) I have confidence in myself , but I don't mind if I don't win. (Maggie Cheung says she will give way for someone else to win?) That is quite funny, maybe Maggie won the award last year and so people are asking her about this. If she does do that, then there is no meaning and that is not possible anyway."

Based on the huge success of "To Catch the Uncatchable", TVB has decided to turn it into a situation comedy and replace "Virtues of Harmony" when it is finished next year. Dayo Wong will still be the male lead, hoping to rewrite the magic ratings story of "War of Genders".
TVB was forced to air an alternate happy ending of "TCTU" due to viewers' overwhelming demand a while ago, and that shows just how popular and successful the serial was. Since the viewers have kept asking for a sequel, TVB finally decides to shoot "TCTU" again to continue the ratings success.
Dayo Wong and producer Tsui Jing Hong contributed a lot to "TCTU", and they were also behind "War of Genders" a few years ago. To guarantee a good result, they will remain as the lead actor and producer of the new "TCTU". In a rare move, TVB has changed it into a situation comedy (*special note: meaning it is not a sequel, but a regular series that goes for hundreds of episodes), and it will air after "Virtues of Harmony" comes to an end early next year.
The new "TCTU" will use the same cast as the old one. Dayo Wong is currently filming in mainland China, and to fit his schedules, "TCTU" won't start shooting until next March. This way, producer Tsui will also have plenty of time to get ready. The biggest problem right now is the female lead. Sitcoms are long-term projects by definition, so actors have to be readily available. Ada Choi is not sure if the new "TCTU" can fit into her busy schedules, so she is still considering, although she would love to say yes immediately.
As for the suggestion that Carol Cheng should be a part of the new project, TVB says the chance is too slim. The Sun contacted Carol yesterday, and she confirmed she would not take the offer. "I haven't heard anything yet. Even if they do give me the offer, I won't consider it. For one thing, I've tried sitcoms. For another, it will be my 30th year in the business next year. I've reached the phase where I only want to enjoy my life."

[Ta Kung Pao 22/10/04]
Many artistes including Gigi Lai, Christine Ng, Leo Ku, Sheren Tang, Marsha Yuen and Ada Choi took part in a fashion show on Wednesday for the 'Moiselle Autumn/Winter Collection '04" as guest models who paraded on the catwalk alongside the regular models to show off the new designs. As the spokesmodel for the company, Ada Choi has recently renewed her contract with the company and her fee has been raised accordingly. She laughs that she has represented the company for seven years and the relationship is like having a date. On the night, Ada wore an extra low cut mini-dress that showed off her long seductive legs. However, Gigi Lai was the finale guest model on the night, taking over Ada's usual position and showing that her popularity is not as it was. She also indicates that she is currently negotiating a contract with the company bosses to become another spokesmodel for the products and if all goes well, the deal should go through before the end of the year.
In response to Gigi also becoming a spokesmodel for the label, Ada laughs that it doesn't matter who it is and she does not feel threatened because the boss has their own reasons for choosing, like last year Cecilia Cheung was rumoured to be representing the company. She feels that there is room for them to co-exist because the market cannot be monopolised by one person, nor can you get to the top by riding other people's failures. No matter whether you do it or not, the most important thing is about being happy. Nominated for the 'My Favourite Female Lead' award this year, Ada is not too confident about taking the award as she feels that Sheren stands a better chance of winning.
With so many beauties gathered together, then they each showed off their beauty in different ways. Ada says that there is a limit to her sexy dress and the dress she is wearing today is alrady her bottom line. When it was indicated that Gigi's dress was so short it almost revealed what was underneath, Ada compliments her, saying that Gigi is as pretty as a princess, whereas Christine and Sheren also have a very sensual attraction.
Wearing a super mini skirt on the day, Gigi indicated that this was chosen for her by a designer. She appeared alongside Leo Ku as a couple and that moment looked like an engagement scene. Gigi had done her preparations, wearing two pairs of underwear under the skirt to avoud revealing anything. When it asked if she was worried about having suggestive photographs taken again, she explained that the so called 'revealing photos' showed the flesh coloured knickers she had on underneath her skirt and she does not understand how this could have been misinterpreted.
Gigi really showed her clout, because when she ordered an outfit, the designer completed it for her within four days. She says that she has always admired the local designers and feels that Hong Kong designs are similar to those designer labels from abroad. She also hopes that people will not discriminate about products from the mainland because 'Made in China' products are not bad, just that most of the quality products are exported.
Leo Ku was a little awed at partnering 'Yuk Ying Siu Ju' at the show and laughs that he regrets not taking part in "War and Beauty". He says he would have liked to have played the Emperor because working opposite beauties like Gigi, he would be very 'loving'.

Ada does deserve it but i think Sheren will win since War and Beauty got way higher points than To catch the uncatchable....

because she had agreed to work on SYDT and LJCQ in China earlier and she had no time for WAB. did war and beauty get higher points than TCTU? i thought TCTU still lead for the overall ratings and that WAB got over it at the last few episodes (or was it the last episode?)

[Oriental Daily & The Sun 05/11/04]
Top Ten My Favourite Television Characters Results to date:
1. Sheren Tang (War and Beauty)
2. Dayo Wong (To Catch the Uncatchable)
3. Jessica Hsuan (Lady Fan)
4. Ada Choi (To Catch the Uncatchable)
5. Bowie Lam (War and Beauty)
6. Charmaine Sheh (War and Beauty)
7. Gigi Lai (War and Beauty)
8. Kenix Kwok (Shine on You)
9. Bobby Au Yeung (Shine on You)
10. Maggie Cheung (War and Beauty)
TVB's anniversary 'My Favourite Television Character' awards have been the focus of many recently and TVB's official website revealed that the results up to now show Sheren Tang's 'Yu Fei' is way out in the lead, with Dayo Wong in second place and a rather surprising third place falling to Jessica Hsuan for her title role in "Lady Fan". With two weeks to go until the anniversary celebration and the final results, these awards will dwell heavily on the minds of the leading males and females.
The emergence of Jessica in the top three is certainly surprising as earlier predictions only focussed on the leads from "War" and "To Catch" and overlooked Jessica's influence. Jessica's excellent relationship with her viewers has revealed this unusual results and cast a new light on the predictions for the 'My Favourite Female Lead Award', as an external threat on Sheren's lead in addition to the 'internal challenge' from the other concubines in "War".
As for the male and female lead awards, the net results indicate that Sheren still leads with odds falling from 4-1 to 5-2, but Gigi Lai's third place has risen to second, beating Ada Choi back down to third for the time being. The fight for the male lead award is still between Bowie Lam, Dayo Wong and Moses Chan as Bowie's odds fall from 6-1 to 7-2.

The beginning part of Lok Sun, Ada looked very beautiful. But after she became the empress, the make-up was really overdone. Although the empress clothings do look elegant, but sometimes it appears a little old-fashioned to me(forigve me, my vocabulary is limited
Lok Sun was filmed 2 yrs ago, so she should be around 29yrs then.I don't really see Ada changing much actually. Maybe she got thinner and her hairstyle keeps changing. She looked much prettier at the anniversary celebration. Tanned skin seems to make her look much better. But i still prefer her to be fairer.

yeah...i was disappointed that ada didnt make it into top 5--even if she didnt win, she shouldve at least been in top 5!! but at least she didnt go empty handed. between sheren and ada, i think sheren deserved it a bit more--dont get me wrong here, ada deserved it too but i just think that sheren deserves it a little more. but then its not like ada never won fav. female actress before--if she wins again it'll be great!!!
