Having been filming in Beijing for TVB epic "War and Beauty", Charmaine Sheh and Gigi Lai returned to Hong Kong on Sunday evening and as Charmaine left the airport, she was talking non-stop on the phone. Was she calling her rumoured boyfriend Benny Chan to come and pick her up? Charmaine immediately squeaked: "No... I was calling my manager to ask for the number plate for my ride." In contrast, when Gigi left the gate, despite hardly wearing any make-up, she was calm and confident as she left on her own.

With the weather in Beijing being bitterly cold, Charmaine couldn't stand it and has a cold. However as her schedule was tightly packed with filming, she could not take time to go and seek treatment, so she will be taking advantage of her break in Hong Kong to go and see a doctor and have it cleared up and nursed back to good health to prevent the return of SARS. With many suspected cases in the Mainland, Charmaine has heard of the news, but she has not seen any panic about SARS in Beijing.

Charmaine will be heading out to America for a stage appearance soon and then returning to her home in Hawaii to spend the new year with her family. After joining showbiz, Charmaine has always been in Hong Kong for the new year, so to go back to a more westernised Chinese New Year celebration, Charmaine hopes it will be quieter but very heartwarming.

just wanna ask.... have finished watching ROTC today... am quite curious on the ending.... so what happened??? did Ah Sheh end up with Julian???? anyone can help?

Oh, at the end, Charm ended up with Steven. I like her with Steven but in ROTC, I like Charmaine to end up with Julian instead. So did you finish watching it yet?

yeah, finished watching lah.. but don't quite understand the ending.. Ah Sheh met Julian at the river.. and the show finished... what does that mean?? does it mean they got back together?

I don't really get the ending of ROTC too. But I don't think they're back together since Charm already married Steven and had 2 kids. Although she was sad that Julian denied her love, but she seemed happy with her family at the end


Really, it's a great serie..hehe, you should watch it. Charmaine looks so adorable with her short hair. I like this serie very much that I had the DVD at home

Yeah, she's in quite a lot of series... I liked her the best with Chilam/Julian in The Point of No Return (I'm watching it now), and then with Steven Ma in PITNOL (Perish in the name of love)... PITNOL is so sweet... But yeah, she's pretty as well as a good actor

Charmaine is popular, can't deny that. Like I said, some may not like her, but that some is nothing comparable to many who adore her! I read one another fan journal on her trip to Taiwan for promotional wise. And wow, the crowd there was chaotic with the appearance of Charmaine and she had impressed the people further with her concern over some kids climbing trees while she was on stage. What can I say about her? Except that she's kind, and kind and kind! lol

I have been following msgs posted by the scriptwriter of 'fly with me'. He is also responsible for Charmaine's new project which is opening in May, setting in China. He confirmed that after massive changes in roles, Charmaine will appear as a concubine of the late emporer, but she is the first true love forever of the male lead in the period drama. She will appear in the 1st 21 episodes. seems that there will be 4 female leads, cause the male lead is involved with all 4. (geez, what lucky guy) The drama will have 40-42 episodes.

Nah, I didn't rewatch The White Flame right now but I will eventually. Congratulations to Charmaine Sheh and Benny Chan. They have officially gotten their blessing from their parents, and have decided to engage first before going through the real ceremony somewhere mid-year 2005!!
It is CONFIRMED!! It is in a magazine headline and the couple isn't denying anything now. Charmaine is willing to give everything up for Benny, (probably meaning she will cut down on taking projects or...) Charmaine though accepted Benny's proposal, was worried that her career might be in jeopardy, especially when it is only beginning to soar. and the fact that Benny is more busy in taiwan and china, she was worried that they may not enjoy a happy starting marriage, so she decided to put off the wedding to next year. and she wanted the engagement to be as simple as possible.

Their romance started in early 2002 when they were casted opposite each other in a movie. Then, they did take a liking to each other but discarded everything as rumours. In fact, early last year 2003, Benny had already proposed to Charmaine but was rejected. And finally, his efforts paid off and Charmaine has decided to take a further step on life with him!!
Yeah for them both!!! So happy for them!! I hope all goes well for them, in their loving way, in their career and their health.

And please don't doubt this msg, it is really official, so say your congratulation!!

Charmaine Sheh, Michelle Ye and Moses Chan were among the artistes who took part in a TVB Contracted Artistes dinner and in response to the reports of her engagement to Benny Chan, Charmaine could only respond with resignation: "We just went out for dinner together. The magazine says that we call each other three times a day, I don't even call my family that much! I am still single at the moment, don't spoil my chances! For now I don't know who I will marry, but it will not be happening in these few years anyway. Me and him [Benny Chan] have never thought about it [getting married] and we are just friends at present." Some fortune readers have said that Charmaine and Benny do not have a future together because with their larger noses, it is easy to have arguments. Charmaine laughs: "I better look out for men with small noses then!"

Michelle has just returned from Shanghai, so she has not had time to greet Charmaine. She says: "They have denied it, but I am friends with Benny as well so if I have a chance I will ask him about it."

Also, Moses has now signed a full management contract with TVB and he says that his previous contract with Clarence Hui has been sorted out now.

With his popularity at a peak last year, Louis Koo was originally going to start the year of the monkey over in America making money, however a problem with his working visa has meant that his show has been cancelled causing Charmaine Sheh and Anne Heung to lose out as well!

The Chinese New Year has always been a time for artistes to make some money and originally Louis had arranged to make appearances with Charmaine and Anne in many cities of America including Las Vegas and Atlantic City, however it is reported that due to problems with Louis' work permit, the group have not been able to head out on time. Originally the crew were to head out to Atlantic City today, to do a local second day of the new year show. However the organisers have suddenly received a notice from the immigration department saying that there is a problem with the visa, possibly due to Louis' criminal record.

As the government has legislated to allow minor criminals to have a 'clean slate' and Louis has cleared his past record and should have no problem working overseas. However, Louis forgot to renew his 'Good citizen card' and could only provide an expired document for the application. With the recent crackdown in US immigration due to the aftermath of terrorist activities, the security of the country has been put first and with the tightening of controls, even a famous artiste such as Louis is no exception to the rules and the doors have been closed to him.

It is not just Louis who is affected as a result because the work permit was applied for as a group and this has meant that Charmaine and Anne have also been declined. Although Louis is still fighting hard for the permit, the organisers do not want to risk it and postpone, worried that they have to pay a lot of compensation, so the could only pull Louis out and push the application through for Charmaine and Anne. With the first job of the new year going wrong, it would appear that luck is not on Louis' side on this occasion. Charmaine and Anne seem unclear about the delay in the trip and this is all in the hands of TVB. They admit that they are yet to receive notice. Charmaine said on the phone yesterday: "I am waiting for arrangements by the company now, I am not worried. It doesn't matter whether I go or not because I will not think about it too much."

With rumours of disharmony between the female leads of "War and Beauty" Charmaine Sheh and Maggie Cheung, they did not meet at the celebratory dinner to mark the completion of filming. Charmaine was the only representative present out of the female leads and Maggie Cheung was nowhere to be seen. The other female lead Gigi Lai joined the party afterwards to go to Karaoke. It would appear that Charmaine and Maggie have still not settled their differences.

On Valentines Day, after filming for "War and Beauty", Charmaine went for supper with a few crew members in the early morning and did not spend the occasion with rumoured boyfriend Benny Chan. Talking of this person, Charmaine was questioned about whether she had avoided seeing him by missing out on Ellen Chan's birthday party. She seemed very evasive as she replied: "If we were dating, then I would go and have dinner with him. (Was he working that night?) I don't know, I didn't look for him."

When asked who would be paying for the dinner, Charmaine says that the artistes have all chipped in, but wouldn't say how much. Also, having signed to TVB management earlier, Moses Chan was asked about the recent redundancies and he replies: "I am not worried, if I am dropped then I will put it down to destiny."
