I think in Asia ppl care more for education, but I can see why they wouldn't want to go to college since they have a pretty bright career awaiting them.

going to school AND dealing with busy scheduals isnt a good ideal..either way you'll fall behind on one of them!

i think it's smart of them to not go to school just yet...they have expressed wishes to go to college later on in life in a interview.

Ha! And they are suppose to be our role models? whatever. It is their choice. "Whatever goes around comes around." I hope they think what will happen if things fail.

They could always reentre uni later in live. I'm glad they make that decision cause with their pack schedule, it really hard to get good marks anyway.

tsss.. i don't agree to their idea of not finishing their studies. yeah, they are indeed very famous right NOW. but who knows? we won't know if tomorrow, they're gonna fall from their princess seats (because of the other SNSD members' diva-like attitudes).

I believe that if you're talented, you will succeed in your career as an entertainer. but if you're educated, you will succeed not only as an entertainer but also in your career as a whole human being and as an ordinary citizen without all that fame and limelight.

especially now that rumors or articles are spreading all over the internet saying that the SNSD are like uneducated girls disrespecting their 'sunbaes'. Tssss, they haven't proven anything yet, so why be that proud?

-but this is just my opinion... so please, no bashing.

in my opinion, i think their popularity is dwindling..i always see articles about them offending people -___-;; i think they should go to college. i mean if their popstar career fail them, then they'll always have their education to fall back upon.

You all comment like they can't just take the entrance exams later lol...

It is pretty hard to focus on school and career, if there careers do fall than they can go to uni then =/ Not that big of a deal or anything.

Hmm... Never mind.. It's their choice anyway.. But I'm so sure that they'll regret it in the future.. Showbiz will not last forever but education is always there..

I don't know what to say except that they're making the decisions so hopefully they won't regret it later. like "Sunmin oppa" ^^^ said above that showbiz won't last forever... They should still at least tried to take the test ....a diploma is always good when it's handy...Anyways, thanks for sharing!

Agree with AngelAngel.

People stop being so narrow minded. They're not super humans to be able to handle a career and going to school full time. Plus its their decisions and they know how their life is right now. Stop implying that their full of themselves and stupid for not taking the education road. No point in going on that path if you can't concentrate fully 100%

Quite true, if you look at their schedule and even if you don't. For them it's usually quite packed.
They're not super human beings who can do two things at once.
If all doesn't go to plan they can take it later. Look at how old they are?
People still go to college in their 20s.
And plus the list that you've posted consist of members who can suceed after leaving the group imo.

College will still be there later if they want to go but their careers might not. They have to use their times correctly, with their careers being pretty good right now. It's their chance to see how far they can go with it. Education is important but experience is also very important.

I think it's good that they want to focus on their careers first
They can always reapply for college at a later time if they want to..
Also, they need to strengthen their otherwise 'poor' image with some people right now, so i guess it's a right choice :)

i knew it. more snsd bashing.
you people make it seem like after this turn they can never take this exam again. <_<
i mean hello. college will always be there.
and they just want to focus on their career first.
i mean thats their dream. to become a star/celebrity.
they trained for years and finally make it.
obviously they're going to continue with what they like to do.
and many people are like what 20+, 30+, 40+ and higher still going/entering college.
being late is better than never. at least they still want to study later on.

I think this is a better way out for them. Well, it's better than if they took college and could NEVER graduate. Look at Vic Zhou, Mike He Joe Cheng etc... how many years they spent in university? I always feel that if you want to study, then study wholeheartedly, not doing two things at the same time, wasting time and money at the same time.

:X It'd be kinda risky since if their career does flop, there would be nothing left to depend on :X
but yeah, like what Aspire has said, if they were to be too busy, they would only spend like years and years in uni O_o

Western artists didn't bother going college as well. But, it's still risky for Asian artists, cuz no everyone can keep popular for long.

Well, it's their choice. Every choice had their risk.

I think that was a really dumb move for them to do. Sure they have busy careers now, but what's going to happen when they become nobodys? They could always work at a restaurant. They need something to fall back on. The girls didn't at least tried to take the entrance exams. These girls are supposed to be role models...not. Besides famous people can still attend school and have a career. Online courses and classes centered around their schedules can help them out.

I think that's pretty stupid that they won't go to college just because of their career.
And it's not like they're actually doing something productive with their career.

If they really want education, they can still pursue it while being celebrities at the same time. -_-;

I unno.
it's their choice.

hmm i remember xiah junsu STILL taking the exam even if he was popular already..
that's just unfortunate that they're not taking the test, but maybe they really have personal reasons not to take it.
it's just you know, time is gold. grab the opportunity especially if it's education we're talking about.

That's so ridiculous, plenty of celebrities have accomplished tertiary education and still be famous, and seriously how long are girl groups gonna last?

Hmm, interesting.

I agree, it is their choice so we shouldn't voice our opinions.

But I still want to voice mine (ha)

I suppose it's a mental strain having to go to school and be a singer... but is this wise?!

I mean, they're still really young, a lot of singers manages to go to school and to pursue their career at the same time... and also, I'm sorry to say this, but just because they're popular now doesn't mean they're gonna be popular in, what, say, ten years time? Singers/groups/bands come and go so quickly in Asia... what are they planning to do when SNSD disbands? Or... you know, for some reason fall apart?!

Go back to college when they're in their late twenties?!

Ah well, whatever. Like I said, it's their choice! I'm quite surprised though...

Lol I think most people here have adopted their asian parents mentality of Grades! School! authoritarianism.
