Starring in three mega-productions consecutively from the First Media Group, Wallace is now the emerald in the hands of Teng-Kuei Yang, the owner of the FMG and the producer in general for the aforementioned dramas. Wallace's success comes both from his impeccable cherubic look as well as his captivating acting. Once dreaming of putting Vic Chou of F4 under his flag, Yang had now found a gold mine in Wallace. In Emerald, Wallace is a musician and now he is learning violin (or more accurately, the posture of violin-ing…) for that. "I will work very hard not to lose Mr.Yang's face!" He told the media. In fact, Yvonne Yau, one of the co-starring actresses, praised Wallace highly. "He is so charming, not only because he is so handsome, but he also devoted himself totally to the drama." Yvonne had become a friend of Wallace since their collaboration in the historical epic-to-come, The Red Sleeve. "I like him so much, but in the dramas Wallace always falls in love with someone else!" Li Sun is becoming more and more popular after shooting a Kung Fu movie with Jet Li. Yvonne Yau, apparently another ruby of Yang, is now trying to recapitulate the image of a senorita in Emerald. George Hu grew up in New York and had solid training in martial arts. However, since he barely read Chinese, now memorizing the script had become a nightmare for him.

In addition to Wallace, the brightest of the young and glittering cast, another attraction of Emerald is the meticulous production. In order to create a dreamingly beautiful screen, in addition to Shanghai, this drama will also film in the Hainan Island, London and Scotland. Therefore, the production expense of Emerald will very likely set a new record for contemporary idol dramas.

When
The filming will start in Sanya City, Hainan Island, from September 20, 2005, right after Wallace finishes Sound of Colors. In November Wallace and the crew will fly to the United Kingdom to shoot some major scenes in London and Scotland.

but as far as I know this is a mainland production or joint production between taiwan&mainland..

tis series seems very romantic but the plot is roughly abt the same ' ' [no offense to wallace fans /those who like tis series]

the cast lookz pretty good! but the storyline is very typical..... wonder if it'll be any good

I think this will be a nice series, hmmm I don't wanna judge it by its plot only^ , I'm looking forward to see Hainan, london, scotland and even shanghai..
base on the clips and pics.. it looks very promising plus this series is now the talk of the media in china..

oh but well, I don't consider this a taiwanese production, i think this more of a mainland project with some taiwanese stars.

If anyone who manage to see this after it's release let me know if Wallace voice is dub again !!!!????

because ever since I watch "World Finest" , " sounds of colors " his voice is being dub which I felt is so unnatural . I understand if they dub some stars who don't speak chinese like those korean stars who act in chinese drama but why wallace !!

So I am hoping that they don't dub this too

Thanks for posting the trailer, the series looks so good with Wallace in it, looks like flashbacks of childhood and then he becomes a businessman, etc, love triangles, cool stuff:)

they used his real voice in this drama..

Zhou, Nien-Zhung
In Emerald, Wallace is Nien-Zhung live in Hainan Island with his mother. He take his best friend seat in music class. In the class everyone know him as Nie Kai instead of Nien-Zhung. But his fate twisted when he and best buddy fall in love with Chia-Chi. Nien-Zhung didn't dare to show his love because of Nie Kai. At the same time, his mother send him to Shanghai and told him that his biology mother is Mrs.Yang who stay in Shanghai now. Nien-Zhung start a new life after his mother pass away. Her biology mom send him to London to study.

Mo, Chia-Chi
Li Sun is Mo, Chia-Chi, her mother remarry after her father pass away. She loves Nien-Zhung but they didn't be together because Nei Kai also love Chia-Chi. She still think of Nien-Zhung after he left Hainan Island. Chia-Chi and her mom fly to London after his new dad did something wrong. Will she and Nien-Zhung reunion?

Nie Kai
George Hu is Nie Kai, best buddy with Nien-Zhung. He loves martial art so he swap his music class with Nien-Zhugn and attend martial art class. He bump into Chia-Chi as Chia-Chi ask him to teach her martial art too. After he discover that Chia-Chi is the pretty girl he saw in ballet class, he decided to go after her. He ask Nien-Zhung help to write love letter to Chia-Chi. But Chia-Chi like Nien-Zhung. So their friendship is suffer.

I love this series, touching, romantic and funny at times, very balance.
it is very levelled to any other China/TW series..out there
it's actually more like LIP, LSIH...and those kind of kdramas. But it's just that, this one is more touching..added with some goog-looking actors and actresses.
I quite hate the ending, it kept me stunned and shocked for a while.. then finally I came to a conclusion that this series is consistent and the ending even though unacceptable for many is just right for it. I guess the story/title although visibly revolving around a mermorabilia, has also some deep representation.

and the songs are all good--

highly recommended for all Wallace Huo, Sun Li, Melodrama fans...and also for hopeless romantics!

i LOVEEE this show. i never heard of sun li before this show, but she was seriously the best actress in this show and stole everyone's else light away!
