i'm in geometry right now...and failing it. it's all because of those freaking PROOFS. I have a big test tomorrow, and half of the test is on Proofs. Is anyone good at them?

i gotta ace it, or i'll be reallty screwed. i pulled my F up to a D so far, so if i ace this i can get my grade up to a C+...

LOL do u wanna be a little bit more specific by giving us a question
so we can see what kind of proofs you are having trouble with in proving?

BY THE WAY, is anyone taking biology and is good at it?

the perimeter of a rectangle is 48m. the width of the rectangle is 2 more than half the lengh. find the length and the width

set your length as x and your width as (1/2)x+2

so 48=3x+4

solve for x yourself

L= X
2L=2x

W= 1/2(x)+2 ----------> since 2 is greater than half of X
2W= X+4

(2X+X)+4 -----------> 2L+2W

since the perimeter is 48, set it equal to 48

3X+4=48

3X=48-4
3X=44
X=44/3

it helps get rid of:

-knifes
-metal objects
-guns
-tools (screw driver, hammer, etc)
- it gives the parents a sense of safety to the school system

I wouldnt say prevent...but i would say lessen the use of deadly weapons in school

btw...DO U LIKE SKOO UNIFORM? & why..

- what do u think about the situation?
- do you want to prevent violence in school?
- if u are the principal, how would u avoid violence? what actions will u take?
-what kinds of consequences are there?

- do u like school uniform?
- should people follow it? why or why out?
- do u think it is beneficial?
- do u think it will lessen the parents money instead of buying brand name clothing?
- does the school look nicer with uniform?
- if wearing regular clothes, do u think it will show the student's interest and personality clearier?

hey im good in biology. got an a in it first semester!!! need ant help?

basically with preventing violence, it can help students to be more disciplined
and it can be a great benefit to the school since teenagers and youths are
always unaware of the consequences (or they don't really care) about whats
at stake to them.. so we need violence prevention.. we need some laws out there
u know?

i dont think i care about school uniforms
but it does make u unique and part of something...
and one thing thats good about uniform is that you dont have to stress over
what u have to wear because you only have to wear the same thing everyday.. =)


wat did you learn in bio in the first semester?

LoLz, sorry, I suppose I shoulda posted the question...but it's kinda hard. There's a bunch of geometric figures involved. I just don't get which properties and theorems to use when I want to prove something. For example, I'll put down, 'AC is congruent to CD' on a triangle...I'll have no clue what to put down next. I dunno what theorem or property proves it!

Haha, the class itself is super easy, but the area of proofs is NOT. At least that's what I think...I manage to do good on everything else but proofs. Btw, I had my big test today...I looked so desperate when I was doing the proofs, by teacher actually came and helped me on one of them.

i actually think geometry is easy.....u just have to get acquainted with the geometric shapes and the theorems then u can do the proofs easily. I have this class last year and it was easy to me. I have Algebra and Trigonometry this year and I dont like it at all Ive suffered for the 1st semester

I wish you had a picture. It would make it a lot easier. I dont kno what the triangle looks like so its hard to help.

yea, i'm guessing that's what's messing me up...i was supposed to memorize the theorems and props, but i never did...i should start doing that now.

i'm gonna be in Advanced Algerba next year...are there proofs in that area?
