Jackie Chan Says Liu Yi Fei Will Be a Hollywood Superstar

"The Forbidden Kingdom" led by the two martial arts superstars Jackie Chan and Jet Li will be premiering in Hong Kong on 18th of March. Yesterday, the poster for the movie was revealed for the first time. The movie's leading actress Liu Yi Fei has a very cold look in the poster, definitely a change from her usual goddess roles.

Liu Yi Fei's performance in the movie received praises from Jackie Chan: "Liu Yi Fei comes from a dancing background, she looks very good during the fighting scenes. In addition, she is an honest and hardworking girl, her acting skills is constantly improving."

Predicts Liu Yi Fei will be a Hollywood superstar

Liu Yi Fei has recently signed a contract with a Hollywood management company, Jackie Chan predicts that Liu Yi Fei has a successful career ahead of her, "Liu Yi Fei is very well educated, she can speak both English and Japanese fluently, she is also young and beautiful. When Chinese actresses try to go international, only a few are succesful. I can see Liu Yi Fei as Gong Li's successor to become the next Hollywood superstar."

I didn't realise that Crystal was so educated. That certainly gives her the edge if she's bilingual. Not only is she beautiful, she's also intelligent. I thought she was really good in Return of the Condor Heroes and i also agree she would be the next Zhang Zhi Yi!

I didnt know she can speal jap and eng. well good for her at least she wont have to be dubbed if hollywood decides to give her a spot.
Honetly i dont think she is that good at acting but her alot of actresss in the US cant either, they just have a really pretty/cute face and are young like crystal.

I also think that she can become the next Hollywood Asian star. She is young and beautiful, can speak Japanese, English, mandarin. She stayed in NYC for 5 years, i think 10 years old to 15 years old so she can understand the occidental culture. I think that she has good chances but i'm gonna miss her in ancient Chinese series.

Lie Yi Fei certainly has the ability and outlook to become the next chinese superstar in Hollywood..Hopefully she will continue working hard to achieve that goal..

She's gonna be the next Gong Li? WHAT A JOKE. Her acting skills are dismal and ill-suited even for juvenile dramas... she only got this part because of her connections there are so many other actresses with more talent than her.

I don't know about her being the next Gong Li, but whatever.

I don't think that she should come to Hollywood because it's so bad here! I hope that she can keep her common sense when she gets here because you hear about all the drug addicts and everything...I'm sure there's a share of that in China too, but here it just seems so much worse. XD

if jackie chan say she has the talent to become a super star then she will have the talent... but it always will be up to her to show us how much work and effort she will do to help become that superstar

i think she will b successful too! as jackie chan said...she's multi-lingual...and was brought up in the states...hence her personality and character will be very likeable by hollywood!

i think jackie chan's compliments are very true. being able to speak lots of languages also help a lot! =D also being young, beautiful and talented, i think she will have a very bright future in front of her acting career

Liu Yi Fei does have the talents and the beauty to be in Hollywood, but let's hope that Hollywood won't be too much of a hassle on her work load. Some say that she'd be the next Zhang Ziyi or as they said here, as Gong Li's successor, but I believe she has her own unique characteristics and way of making it to the top in Hollywood.

Really don't think that Liu Yi Fei will make it that big in Hollywood, cause she looks too normal and plain. Not that she is not beautiful, but her looks are really plain. You just forget her looks in just a minute. There are a lot of chinese actresses that wanne make it big there ,but only Gong Li and Ziyi Zhang has really made it there now. And lets be honest is not easy to make it big in hollywood as an asian.

I don't know if Crystal will become a big star like Jackie says, but I personally don't appreciate her acting. Yes, she's pretty and her fighting moves (due to her dancing background) looks really good, but acting-wise, I was not impressed by her performance in ROTCH 2006 or any series prior to that. She wasn't poor, but not good either. She needs to improve A LOT. She also tried to enter the singing entertainment. Two of her fast songs were pretty good, but it's only because of the music. Her singing...I don't even want to talk about it.

I don't know, maybe she did improve in The Forbidden Kingdom. If she does improve and keeps improve, then maybe she does have a big star life in front of her. But based on her past TV series performances, I can't see it. Though Hollywood doesn't always look for acting skills; look at Zhuang Zhi Yi. I don't see much superior acting skills, but look at her now in Hollywood. We'll just have to see.

but that is probably all she is realllly good at..
heard her jap.. heard her english... not that impressive... like srsly..
her acting.. fails to impress
her singing... oh man..

her looks and half talents is only wat she is taking into hollywood..... shove her in some acting class pleaseee.... but never will she match gongli and zhang zi yi....

Her english is Jackie Chan good. She needs more work before she can break into Hollywood. Even Gong Li is not famous in Hollywood.

WHAT?! Jackie Chan is not god, he doesn't determine that LOLLL! People often speak good words about their co-stars.

I doubt she would really BREAK THROUGH into Hollywod and become a star. I mean, come ON, her acting is mediocre. Her looks are so-so, I mean, compared to other actresses I feel she's pretty bland. Addtionally, her eyes lack emotion, and with that, she cannot bring her characters to a full potential as eyes are the windows to one's soul, and furthermore, this will mean, she can't CONNECT with the audience.

If she wants to become an international, or Hollywood star, her English would need to be VERY clear, something like, Edison Chen. Her Japanese? No offence, but I'm nto convinced she'd be very fluent. I mean, maybe passable, but not excellent.

I can't wait to watch this movie but I too think Jackie Chan is going to be wrong on this prediction. I think she is pretty but I have seen her act and it is very medicore. I heard her speak English but I wouldn't say that she was fluent. Also even though Hollywood does sometimes not look for actual talent, it is still a very hard market for Asians to break into. I don't think you can say Gong Li has broken into the Hollywood market. She only has like two films that did so bad in sales.

just saw the trailer. liu yi fei english is not bad. she doesnt have a heavy accent like some, but it was just a few lines she spoke. i have to see and hear more to judge.

i thought they was going to release this movie in summer.

duno if she will be the next chinese hollywood star. if she is determine and works hard maybe it's possible, who knows!

if you're wondering which talent agency she has signed with, it's William Morris Agency (one of the five big agencies in Hollywood) - imdb pro confirmed this.

and I agree w/ aznfusion there...it's kinda tough to really become a big hit in Hollywood. Asian actors are pretty much stereotypical character in movies/tv.

honestly this girl is very lucky. Ever since, she entered the industry she has never received any negative comments, not to mention she started off at such a young age. Now even jackie chan thinks she will be the next gong li. it just amazed me how this girl has alot of luck.
