This drama was based off a Japanese Shojo Manga by Wataru Yoshizumi. It aired in the year 2002, and was 30 episoes long.



Plot/Synopsis
Miki Koishikawa's(Xiao Shi Chun Guang Xi) ordinary life as a high school sophomore is turned upside down when her parents suddenly announce that they are getting divorced in order to swap partners with a couple they met in Hawaii. They seek her approval of the shocking change, and at a dinner where Miki meets the other couple as well as their son Yuu(Song Pu You), who is about her age, she reluctantly agrees to the arrangement. Yuu, while at first a jerk who takes every opportunity to make fun of Miki, turns out to be fun and attractive, and Miki finds herself falling for him. Little by little, she accepts her new family arrangement, and opens up to Yuu as they become friends.

Miki and Yuu's relationship starts to become complicated because of the previous relationships that they have and develop with other characters. These include Miki's long time classmate and former crush, Ginta Suou, and Yuu's former girlfriend, Arimi Suzuki. A secondary subplot develops when Miki's best friend, Meiko Akizuki, herself starts to have her own problems because of the relationship she has gotten into with one of the teachers, Namura Shin'ichi.

Throughout the series, Miki and Yuu's relationship is further developed and tried, influenced by other characters around them and the relationships that they develop with these characters.

Of course, things just had to get more crazy, when they were to move in with the couple they were swapping with. And included in the new 'crazy family' would be her new stepbrother, You, son of the other family. She opposed strongly to the news, but wasn't exactly given a choice. Guang Xi also has a high school crush, Yin Tai, whom she had confessed to a year ago, but got rejected. A year later, the feelings she had had faded away, but just then, Yin Tai himself confessed that he had feelings for her. And to make things worst, she seems to have taken a liking to You. Now whats a girl supposed to do?

A smart, and naturally atheletic boy, You has caught the hearts of many girls. Yet, personality wise, he is the exact opposite of his new step sister, detached, less emotional, and less open about feelings. Guang Xi started calling him Marmalade Boy because of his personality, sweet outside, but bitter inside. However, You loves to tease Guang Xi, oddly enough. He has dreams of being an architect, and as time grows, he finds himself falling for Guang Xi, and at the same time, battling inner demons surrounding his birth.
