Mike He, who is busy shooting Sanli TV Station's drama <Bull Fighting>, is temporarily confirmed to be flying to Japan in mid-November to take up a role in the new j-drama <Yukan Club>, which stars Kat-Tun's Akanishi Jin. This is the first time another Taiwanese idol acts in a j-drama after Wilson Chen and Peter Ho.

Actually, Mike is taking up this role with a low pay of 30 over thousand Ringgits. In this show, he acts as a rich Arabian petroleum prince who has more than 10 fiances. Mike and one of the lead actresses, Suzuki Emi, has many scenes together. Thus he is currently busy brushing up his Japanese in order to let the filming go on more smoothly.

But because of this role, Mike is forced to be absent for the promotional activities of <Bull Fighting> which is airing soon, therefore creating headaches for the people at SanLi TV Station.

When Mike He did Love Contract with Ariel Lin, he spoke some Japanese during that TV series because he was playing the role of a boy who was Japanese but living in Taiwan with his mom. So brushing it off to do this role should be fine.

soo proud of mike...this is a good way for him to be popular in japan....cant wait for him to act as prince...but arabian prince ..he never looks close to arabian

Actually he'll be a guest star in one episode only~ I guess it'll be centred w/ Karen's(Suzuki Emi's character) story.

Don't mind me being critical, but "some" Japanese is a stretch. It was hardly any more than maybe five lines max.

I've heard him rattle off a couple Japanese phrases on variety shows... doesn't sound horrible! I'm always sort of weary when actors cross over into other languages, especially in drama because it doesn't have the same effort as a feature film.

With Mike, I think his Mandarin sounds funny already--it's sort of swallowed and not always enunciated. So maybe Japanese (and Korean) would be easy to him to speak since they're not tonal.

Oh, don't worry... Mike can converse in Japanese, maybe with slang. He has been learning Japanese together with Joe for awhile.

Wow... Yukan Club. Can't wait for that episode. Imagine seeing Jin + Mike... gosh... all pretty boy on the same screen.... I am counting the minutes.

Anyway, Yukan Club has already been showing. Now its uploaded till episode 3, subbed. So fans.... go and start ahead. Watch the drama and when Mike appear then it would be clear as to the overall plot.

ok what ever happened to his HK Debute? come on people at least let him finish one debute before making him start another one.
I am a huge fan of Mike He and all but why Jdrama? does he even know Jaapense well enough to use it in dialect? Its good that hes gonna get more popularity there but its not gonna help his image of if his japaense is so bad that they have to dub his voice.
But I do wish him luck with that project though.

nooo mike's gonna be in a j-drama, i hav nothing against japanese dramas it's just that i will not be able to understand wat they are saying, and waiting for subtitles will be a pain..
i really wish i could speak and understand a gizillion languages...

so it IS true. wow. does he even know how to speak japanese? other than the common phrases/words that everyone knows.
but im looking forward to his scenes. Mike and Jin on one screen! haha hope there'll be at least a few scenes of them together.

Would be interesting as I will be watching Yukan Club..it'd be the first drama I will have seen with Mike He and I refuse to watch t-dramas!

AHHHHH I LOVE YUKAN CLUB!!! And it will be all the better with Mike in it!! Wow, Jin and Mike together = DOUBLE HOTNESS!! Haha, I'm glad, I'm already up to episode 3 with that drama, though I wish it would release faster! But yeah, this news is so random. I totally thought Mike was trying to debut in HK, and now..JAPAN?? Whatever, it's all good!

Well, this is interesting... Mike as an Arabian prince? haha. That's a first.
At least, Mike gets to have a little break in the Japan. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for his special appearance.

Arabian prince? That couldn't possibly be any more bizarre than it already sounds ... But, maybe I'll now check out this drama? I tend to prefer manga-based Japanese dramas.

Waiting for subtitles will only take you 3-4 days.Fansubbers for popular Japanese dramas like Yukan club are very fast. Its not like Taiwan dramas that take ages before the subs finally come out.Ok, Taiwan dramas are long as in so many episodes unlike Jap. dramas that has only 10-12 eps.

i'm watching Yukan Club now, and i like it, wonder how mike he acting in this drama.

i think he'll fit the image of an arabian prince due to his panda eyes and pointed nose. can't wait to see him act with jin.

Ah, i don't know but it's definitely a good chance for him to go japan and observe their way of filming and such. I mean he will learn something for sure. Good luck to him!
