The nomination list for the 43th Golden Bell Awards is out. Female idols Rainie Yang, Ariel Lin, Chen Qiao En and Angela Zhang have all been nominated for “Best Actress”. The 4 golden flowers usually always compete for the TV queen throne, and now they must compete for the golden bell award. Rainie and Qiao En are the hot favourites but none of the male leads for their idol dramas have been nominated. This year, it seems like the females are dominating, and the males’ performances seem to be very average.

It is Rainie, Ariel and Qiao En’s first time to be nominated for this award. Yesterday, Rainie was dubbing for her current idol drama “Miss No Good” and as soon as she got the phone call, she immediately started crying. She says that this time, to be nominated for this award, she is very happy indeed.

Yesterday, as soon as Ariel was informed that she was nominated, she immediately rang Rainie to congratulate her. And Rainie also said she will be happy no matter who wins. As for Angela, she remained very calm, her reaction was, “Oh, really.” However, she says that she is very thankful to the director of “Romantic Princess” – Director Lin, because “although he always yells at me, and it makes me really want to swear back at him, but really he helped me a lot.”

This year’s red hot SETTV idol drama “Fated To Love You” was nominated for a total of 6 awards. Male lead Ethan Ruan was always more noticed than Chen Qiao En, but this time, for the golden bell awards, she finally has her chance to stand out. Qiao En, who is currently in Hong Kong said, “Acting is my dream, and now this proves that my dream is right.”

However, the girls’ partners Ethan Ruan, Joe Cheng, Wu Zun and Mike He all failed to be nominated for “Best Actor” and even Vic Zhou (ZaiZai)’s “Sweet Relationship” was not nominated. Out of the 4 females, they each have their own style and characteristics, but it is said that Rainie’s performance was very natural, so her chance of getting the award is very high.

Congrats for 4th of them.
And that Ariel called Rainie, means they're not in a bad terms (hmm..remember that stupid bangs war rumours..hahaha...very funny especially for who's trust the rumour).
Iam a fans of Rainie..but i think the winner probably will be Qiao En.

I just kind of wonder, Romantic Princess, WWL and ISWAK had been broadcasted a year ago or more, why it only be nominated now ?

Wow, congarts to the 4 of them. They must be super happy and excited about this. But I think I am going to root for Qiao En this year. I thought her performamnce was the best out of all the past dramas and I think she improve greatly. But Ariel acted just as well in TKA.

Wow these 4 are hard to pick since they are so popular! :unsure:

But I will pick between Ariel and Qiao En because their acting is amazing! I love Qiao En in FTLY cause she did an excellent job as Xin Yi. Ariel was great in They Kiss Again. It's gonna be a tough one. But congrats to these nominees.

if rainie got nominated for why why love. then no offence but i dont think she really did a superb job in there and i actually gave up watching the series halfway

whoa this is a gonna be a good battle.
i am biased but i hope that ariel wins. she did such a good job in they kissed again, like always. well i guess Rainie did a good job in why why love too but still my vote goes to ariel.

I'm rooting for Ariel and Qiao En because they're the ones who I think deserve the award based on the material they were nominated with. They excelled at drama and comedy which is no easy task.
Angela is a good actress as she proved in BOL but Romantic Princess didn't allow her to showcase that at all. The same goes for Rainie although I really don't think she's very talented when it comes to acting.

Seriously, I haven't watched any of those movies. But Rainie acts naturally??! AHAHAHA Really?! Well, I guess I never watched WWL, so it's unfair to really say anything, but if it was ANYTHING like how she acted in DBY, then *cough* NATURAL? I didn't finish the drama because the girl can NOT act at all- exaggerates too much and just tries to be cute. Is WWL worth watching??? It just seems like another DBY.... I guess if she's less annoying and "natural" I'd give it a try...

Congrats to all of them for being nominated! Especially QiaoEn and Ariel!

I totally adore Angela, but I think she is rather out of place in the category. ^_^*

Her acting is NOT bad, but compared to QiaoEn & Ariel, she has a long way to go. (Again, that's not a bad thing!! Angela is just more of a singer in my eyes.)

Totally rooting for QiaoEn to win ^_^

but it is likely that the other veteran actress will win.

I am rooting for Chen Qiao En. Even thought I think the one who wins will be the other nominated actress He Shu Yun. These kind of award shows usually reward older veteran actresses.

All did well but I hope QE will win. She did really well in FTLY.

Congrats to all of the actresses for being nominated! (^^ Just noticed n the pictures shown with the article, all of the actresses are wearing white). It's kind of odd that all 4 of the idol actresses got nominated for Golden Bell Awards this year, because usually it's just one stand-out idol actress who gets nominated, and the rest are non-idol. I like Ariel and Qiao En's performances for the selected dramas the best. Angela deserved to win for BOL, though I don't think RP was a challenging enough role to showcase the kind of acting she's really capable of (like in BOL). I haven't seen Why Why Love, so I can't fairly make a comment about Rainie's acting in it.

It was sweet that Ariel called Rainie right away to congratulate her, and that Rainie said she'd be happy no matter who wins. Lol, I love Angela's comment about Dir. Lin :buahaha and I'm also happy that Qiao En is finally being recognized for her own acting talents (and not just as the partner of each of her male co-stars).

I think Ariel and Qiao En both did a great job in their respective dramas and are both very good criers. I was thinking the original storyline and popularity of FTLY (plus likeability of character) may tip the scales in Qiao En's favor, but I just realized that there's another nominee for Best Actress who is *not* an idol actress. I have no idea who 柯素云 is or what the show [黄金线] is, but it's not very often that an idol drama actress wins the Golden Bell Best Lead Actress (actually, when's the last time it's happened?), so the "unknown" actress (to most of us anyway) may end up winning, depending on how good her performance is in her show. (I'll laugh at myself if it's someone well-known, and I just can't recognize the characters for her name).

I go for Ariel but i think chen qiao en would be her biggest competitor.
Haha come to think about it, 2 of them actors more and the other 2 singers more.

But i dunno y it said that Raine acted the most natural. o.O im not against her but i really dun think she is THE MOST natural.

this is not a popularity award so i think qiao en deserves it because her acting as xin yi left a deep deep impression in viewers' heart.....ariel's acting is great but i think her character does not relate to the viewers as much as qiao en's character
