Xian Jian Qi Xia Zhuan is a series based on a popular RPG game with the same title. It has been adapted by Hong Kong Tang Ren Ying Shi Company into a 30 episode ancient fairy tale series soon to be shown on CZTV. Each episode is 60 mins. The main actor is Hu Ge who reprises the role of Li Xiao Yao. The other casts are: Liu Yi Fei(China) reprises Zhao Ling Er, An Yi Xuan(Taiwan) reprises Lin Yue Ru, Liu Pin Yan(Taiwan/Sweety) reprises A Nu.

她看似沒心沒肺，滿腦子除了吃和玩，沒有其他。

因為她自出娘胎，家中只有媽媽。
她也知道唐鈺愛她。
只是，她沒有放在心裏。

oh my goodness! i've been waiting for this series for a long time. liu yi fei looks different in here. i almost didn't recognize her. Is hu ge from taiwan? on another forum, they said that this series was made a while back but due to copyrights it has been delayed. I wonder what was wrong with the copyrights?

this series looks pretty interesting. For a momment, I thought the guy in the cover pic was the leading guy from Outsiders.

Ep 1 Sypnosis:

序場：十年前，南詔國，公審巫后，拜月蠱惑人心，說巫后是妖女，為迫巫后現出真身，召喚水魔獸製造水災，巫后為救子民，現出真身勇鬥水魔獸，姥姥抱靈兒逃離皇宮，得逍遙、劍仙搭救。

逍遙夢境中與羅剎鬼婆空中激戰，被打落掉回床上，被李大嬸打醒。李大嬸吩咐逍遙去開店門。逍遙剛一開門就見三個古怪的拜月教徒。三人在李家客棧住下，其實另有目的。他們使李大嬸昏迷，為救李大嬸，逍遙中計上了仙靈島，巧遇靈兒，但靈兒和姥姥卻說早在十年前就認識逍遙，逍遙大惑不解，姥姥讓逍遙與靈兒成親。

逍遙與靈兒拜堂時，逍遙覺得自己配不上靈兒，逃婚，靈兒追出，經過靈兒一番說服。二人洞房。翌日，靈兒送逍遙離島，二人依依不捨。此時，三名拜月教徒殺上島，姥姥與眾仙女與拜月教徒激烈打鬥。靈兒為保護逍遙，將他擲上小船，離開島。同時，阿奴感應到靈兒有危險，拜月欺瞞思女心切的巫王，說靈兒過的很好。

逍遙因為吃了拜月教之前給的忘憂盅，藥力發作。忘記仙靈島上的種種 …

Liu Yi fei is sooo petty, when i first time saw her in demi god semi devi 03, i never through that she is so good actress, since she is 16-17 when she film this series, now she just finish film xian jian qi xia zhuan and she start the return of the condor heroes 04, she is my favourite female actress, because she in my tthree favourite film, i hope she release more tv series.

xuan yuan jian - cang zhi tao. Do you guys have any news about it? I heard that tvb will start the making this year.

So far I've watched 20 episodes. Though I can only understand about 25% it's quite good. It reminds me of Stormriders.
Could someone please tell me more about snake demons? And why Li Xioa Yao "Xioa Yao Ge Ge" plays 2 characters. Is the one that saves the young Zhao Ling Er his father?
There are so many characters, it's hard to keep track of all of them.
But I like the character Lin Yue Ru the most. I like strong females who can fight and take care of themselves.
And will there be a Cantonese version of it since it's been made by a HK company?

I've also skimmed through 20 eps.
The storyline is kind of muddled and inconsistent but the effects are rather ok for a drama. The acting is nothing special, especially the lead female actress(she's pretty bad). the lead male is average, not THAT good looking and not that good at acting. the supporting characters dont really stand out either, An Yi xuan is not the most spectacular actress but her character is the most interesting to watch.

I'm a newbie here and I'm wondering for those of you who know about this series. Mind telling me if Ling Er dies in this series or any of the protagonists. I don't like it when the protagonists die. So plz tell me about it so I have a headstart before buying the series.

according to their profiles, ling er and xiao yao didn't die, or should i say they didn't write anything that is telling us that they are going to die, so i'm not 100% sure that they won't die

I think the DVD and VCD already out cos they are sharing it in BT. You can ask your nearby CD shops whether they are selling the DVD.

There aren't any Chinese stores near my house..the nearest one is 3-4 hours out of town!! So that option has been crossed out and I usually order myself from yesasia anyways.

the 1st half of this series is a lot better than the 2nd half. the 2nd half talks too much if other unimportant ppl & their stories. So far,i find there is way too much mini stories in this series, over 10 epi in the 2nd pt talks about different stories tat arent really even related to this series. i guess this is the reason why tvb series are always better

I think the mini stories provide much back stories to the whole series and add to the depth of the series. For example the Alan Tam part tells us about the history of the Su Sect and links it to the present story.

I read that the China version and the taiwan version of the series is different. The china version has some scenes cut from the taiwan version. Not really sure though cos I only watched the China Version.

The actual episode for the series is 40 episodes. So the China DVD is cut 6 episodes.

oh...I love this serie la. I finished this serie la. Actor act so good, 刘品言 from sweety still so cute. I saw all the serie by her la and they are all good. Will there be part two, since there are 2,3,4, in pc game la. They should lor.

i read somewhere in the spcnet forum that he did one other tv series before this, but that he was plucked out of acting school. he is really new. i think he is multi talented. He can sing really well too.

Can someone explain to me what the last scene meant? When Li Xiao Yao is carrying his daughter and walks up to that old guy after Ling Er dies? The old guy touches Li Xiao Yao's face and says "I know". He looks really sad and like he regrets something. What does he know? I skipped through a couple of episodes so I think i missed something. Thanks!!

The china version of the series is cut version. The old man called Jian Shen is supposed to recite some poem first, that part of the scene is cut.

The main lead actor, hu ge is darn cute in it. I was wondering where he is from, taiwan?? or china ?? I think he is pretty new because i couldn't find any info about him anywhere. Also the song he sang in the series it's hella good.

wow. thanks for the character introduction. really useful. i've been curious about this show. seems like there's mixed reviews about this on both the story and the acting. it's in my list of tv series to consider to watch though. when you guys finish watching the whole thing and are free, can you post here a more detailed story summary? that will help a lot, since like another poster says, it's easier to understand the chinese if i am familiar with the story. thanks.
