Stephen Chow is producing an animated version of "CJ7"

In 2010 the robotic dog CJ-7 from the movie "CJ7" will reappear on the big screen. But this time it will be animated. Stephen Chow announced on the 8th June that he will be filming the animated version of "CJ7". The robotic dog CJ-7 image is already well known to everyone. Therefore the production company is very confident that there is a market for this animated movie. The cartoon form of CJ-7 is still in progress. But several fans of the original movie drew pictures of their ideal CJ-7 in cartoon form and presented them to Stephen as presents.

Stephen is the Executive Producer for the movie. He revealed that the voice overs will be performed by the original cast. As for whether he will participate in the voice work himself, he stated that it would depend on his schedule during the time. "I considered to film an animated movie 3 years ago. Now I have found a suitable director and feel it's the appropriate time. Actually I have always liked watching cartoons. I grew up with them. Now I am able to produce them myself and very happy about it".

hmmm weird...usually cartoons come first then they make real-live versions of them

I don't really see the point in re-releasing this as a cartoon

Hmmm... I think the real charm of that movie is the performance of the child actor who played Dicky. So, I'm not really sure if the cartoon version would turn out well just as the original.
