The blueprint to BoA’s American advance was revealed on the 10th during a press conference “Best of Asia, Bring on America”.

BoA will be entering through the American mainstream pop market, using the strategy similar to that of her Japanese advance.

However, with the news of BoA’s advance into the American market, there are also a lot of officials in the Kpop scene who have voiced their worries about the plan.

Singers like Rain and Se7en and Im Jung Hee who has all declared to advance into the market with local pop music, has yet receive a clear response to their targeted fans and market. Not only for Korean singers, Japanese popular singer Utada Hikaru attempted to break into the American pop music market but the response to that was not heated. As much as these artistes had set down their strategies to break into the market thoroughly, just like BoA, the American pop market gave a feeling of inpenetrability to Asian singers.

However, BoA’s company SM Entertainment which had accumulated much know-how in advancing into foreign music markets these years, will send go ahead BoA to America to attempt advancing into the mainstream market with their company’s best staff following along.

And today at about 2pm in Seoul Imperial Paris hotel, the staff that will work together with BoA on her new endeavour were revealed, casting new expectations and anticipation to BoA’s advance into America.

At the conference, the single title song ‘Eat you up’ was revealed. The song is produced by Bloodshy & Avant, who also composed songs for stars Britney Spears and Madonna’s songs.

Bloodshy & Avant, native Sweden, produced many hit songs like Britney Spears‘ ‘Toxic’ and ‘Do Something’, Madonna’s ‘How High’ and Jennifer Lopez’s ‘Brave’. BoA’s choregrapher, who did dance choreography for Justin Timberlack and Beyonce, Misha Gabriel was also revealed.

However good the music is, a good management is also important for BoA’s success. One of the reasons to why BoA’s Japanese advance was such a sucess is because she was under the management of Avex, who also manage Japan’s best singers.

Many Korean singers, though they speak fluent English and have great songs from famous American producers, failed to make it bigger in the American as they did not have a good local management for support. The point that good connections in the American market was repeatedly emphasized during the press conference.

Lee Soo Man announced that BoA will under the management of Max Gousse (who were responsible for stars like Justin Timberlake and Beyonce, Jay Z and Pop Daddy) and SM USA.

And with the support of the American market’s top artiste management team, there is much talk about the possibility of BoA’s success and gaining recognition in the market.

Max Gousse said, “(BoA is) one very fine and talented singer. And one of the best female dancers I have seen around”. And one of the helpers to the company’s production work Hayden Bell also said, “We are much confident that BoA will make it big as a singer in America.”

Also another American record label Universal has also voiced their support for BoA’s advance into America.

BoA advanced into the Japanes market in 2002, has all her 7 albums on the Oricon Weekly album chart. And on this day, about 40 media representatives were present at the press conference, all who are concerned about the plan of BoA’s American advance.

actually, doesnt mean someone who produced many popular songs to the popular artists can make her debut a success.
Boa must really work hard for this and i'm hoping she can make it.
i'm not a big fan of her but i felt bad for some asia artists failed to break American industry before..
so i'm really looking forward for her debut.
Good Luck BoA. :)

wow, the teaser is really awkward. the filming was weird too. i didn't see the beauty that was in BoA. the makeup artist made her look like a punk/rock girl with emo issues. the other version was slightly better. but i guess the pronunciations were better than expected. and well, the song's alright i guess. we'll see.

BoA looks very pretty in the teaser and her dance moves are very good.
But, that song still sounds weird to me. I hope the best to BoA.

I hope BoA will be the first Korean that actually does debut according to plan :/ This makes Se7en like a huge failure since he STILL hasn't debuted yet =_= No comments about the Rain dude...

just because she has "big" name ppl working with her doesn't mean it's guarantee success...like they mention Hikaru Utada she collab with Timbaland..everyone knows Timbaland but she failed.

it seems to me that SM is just bumming off of well known ppl to try to push her to success that's not gonna work. BoA doesn't bring anything new that's already being loved in America, the only difference with BoA & the stars in America is well she's Asian.

wow I guess it's actually starting to happen?
but like what others have said, having support
from other famous producers and such might
not guarantee her success. I'm starting to believe
that because of some of the failures they have had
with the other korean/japanese artists, they are
really trying to find the best of the best to support
BoA and such. I am still a big fan of hers even though
I wanted a Korean comeback more XD

The preview is alright =p the song is so Madonna/Justin like XD
I like her look though =]

i'm not a BoA fan, but not a hater too, i just feel she needs something more, there is something missing about her.....

good luck to her though, like everyone said in earlier post, there has been many who fail...the one who i thought was gonna make it but didn't was Coco Lee....she was born in the USA, perfect english, had the look, had the body, great vocals and she still didn't make it.....i'm not saying this to discourage BoA or anything, i'm just trying to say she and her team will have to work hard and come up with something creative to Wow everyone.....

Like I said in the other post, Boa needs to improve her English first...her mistake is rushing into the US market before becoming fluent in English.

Yeah like everybody else said, the song is a little awkward. Her English is fine since a lot of foreigners have accents, I can deal with that :] Her dancing skills are up to par already so that's taken care of. Hopefully BoA, can actually break into the American market and show the US that artists from other countries, like Asia, can make it here.

yeah i was actrualli surprise by her english. i heard her sing english b4 but maybi its the recording she def sound more fluent then b4 but still have a hint of accent in her. her dancing will be one thing that is undeniable good bcuz she might really have a chance! i am also raelli sick of amerika market their beat is good but their lyric esp rap is >.< crap i hope she will ahve really good lyrics to match those music of her. i realli like boa nd i hope she can come though. if she make it big then maybi finalli amerikan in general will stop thinking asians cant dance >.< she looks good in the vid but the toher part with too much make up was a lil weird. the vid background seems a lil cheap to me thu. ooh yea definatly agree the producer cheorapher ect dun make yu successful. but knowing boa and haow hard she work with jap she will hold strong on the america market until she tops it. but the american critics lets juss say is alot more harsh then jap or korea.... i really do wish the best of luck for her!

Yeah, about Boa's English... WHAT?! I could only make out a few words here and there. Geez, if she wants to make it big here, she needs better English than that! And that song is really... wow.... weird, to say the least. But then, that's just me sooo...

uh...that song is quite unoriginal...in fact it sounds quite familiar to When I grow Up, the chorus.

And...FIRE THAT DIRECTOR!

I love the song, and the second version
I really hope that She will success and even debuting in America will be very tough, she can receive many criticisms and so on but I hope BoA can overcome it with confidence!
BoA fighting! I will always behind you to whole-heartedly support you!

i like boa very much and i hope she succeeds. but let's face it, that song is mediocre at best. i think even britney spears toxic is catchier than this song. hopefully, people will notice her talent and give her better songs in the future. the video though, just reminds me of Don't Start Now. low budget?

it's going to be a long and hard road to success. she's gonna have to do appearance after appearance on tv, hopefully mtv and other music channels. hate to say it but a little scandal will help too. good luck to her

I'm not trying to badmouth her, but with the way the preview MV looked, I don't think she's gonna grab Americans' attention with something like that. In any case, I wish her the best of luck.

oh, i think i know what the problem is now and why she sounded/looked so awkward (well, besides her ghastly makeup).

i don't think she understands what the song was talking about. to make a song really successful, you not only have to have a good song, good vocals, good speech, but also good interpretation to make the song your own.

she presented mostly on graphics (in version B), and dancing in this version, but interpretation? failure. it's like her singing without emotions, which is not really singing at all...

then again, a lot of american rappers have songs that most people don't understand anyways. all they care about is the beat. if they can dance to it, then it's golden. but if she wants to be taken seriously, she needs to brush up on her comprehension skills. everything else is just icing on the cake.

oh, and did i mention her outfit in here was ridiculously awkward? it doesn't even look like her. how can her fans relate?

and someone needs to check her teeth pronto. does she have veneers on or something?

Good luck to her. Even though she's at an disadvantage debuting in the US, I wish her good luck.

I wish her good luck too. I'm a fan of BoA. Her English improved so much I almost fell off my chair watching the preview. Even if she gets top 10 or even 20 on the Much Music Countdown, it will be a good start for Korean stars and more people will pay attention to how good Asian singers are. The Olympics opening and closing ceremony singers got some North Americans attention. But it'll be real tough for BoA.
