Also Fan Bing Bing, Liu Yi Fei and Eva Huang Sheng Yi was also competing for the lead role. As for other female role, it wasn't confirmed yet...

Yup, that was one of the reason that he was chosen as the lead because he never filmed an ancient series before...the director thought that he may be a fresh face...

Haha...I got to see this...It is kind of nice to see Ken Zhu in an ancient drama...I'm looking forward to it...and I was just thinking it would actually be nice to have all four of the group, F4, to do an ancient drama together...something like the Four Famous Agents which starred Rebecca Wang, Cha In Pyo, Wallace Chung, etc...

hmm seeing the above picture of Ken Zhu in ancient costume, he doesn't look bad. Though he still seems more like a modern person. oh well I want to watch this nonetheless!

Let me get this straight: They chose Hu Jing over Liu Yifei and Ken Zhu over Wallace Huo? What are they thinking?!??! Maybe some die-hard F4 fans will watch this series but I have my doubts for its success.

i love wallace huo but the boy's crossed-eyed. lolz. based on character description, i think ken is perfect for the role.

I personally think Ken is ok as Chu Liu Xiang... I mean the production crew said that they want a fresh face and considering that Ken never had an ancient drama before means that he can somehow introduce a new approach on how to play the role of CLX... not bad though...he has grown so much out of that ximen persona you watched in the idol drama meteor garden...he's a totally different person now...


I have seen some clips of him while they were in Xinjiang shooting the drama and it seems that he's doing his homework. Too bad for him that he has to endure the harsh weather and all sorts.. and the grief of the sudden loss of his father....

benny chan dont seem to fit into any roles from this series, just seems a lil awkward to me but whatever

Yes, about a month ago.They just took a one week break because Ken is attending his father's funeral today, and they'll resume filming on august1.

Li Bao Tian is a drama tyrant? Is Zhu Xiao Tian also one? TV drama Chu Liu Xiang’s former director Ju Jue Liang has repeatedly said that Zhu Xiao Tian has always been ugly, how can he even be the lead actor when he is ugly.

The rumor regarding Chu Liu Xiang director Ju Jue Liang walking out hasn’t stopped. Then soon after this reporter went to Xin Jiang for a site visit, director JJL is nowhere to be found. But the reason for his departure is still ambiguous; the production group all have different answers to the incident. This time, this reporter asked manager Zhi Xiang Li and the production group for answers.

Ju Jue Liang: I saw him lose his temper.

Ju Jue Liang (director of the 1983 film, “She Diao Ying Xiong Zhuan”) was not satisfied with Zhu Xiao Tian, stopped in the middle of filming and left; this has been the news for about one month already. At that time he told the media it was a “temporary leave” but when he arrived in Taiwan he admitted that he already left the CLX production group. In front of the media JJL has repeatedly said ZXT is “disgusting” to be with. He said, “ZXT is lacking in manners. From the beginning we don’t agree on many things, he suddenly gets angry and threw the teacup.” He also criticized ZXT appearance as being ugly, “he is too ugly” it impossible for him to ever be handsome in the film.

Although JJL is not in the production group anymore, he remains to have some sincere advice for ZXT, he said, “When a person wants to finish something its important for him think about how will able to accomplish it, being irritated is of no use.” After he left the production group, he found out that ZXT’s papa was confined to the intensive care, “having this kind of situation, he can understand, but not everyone knew what happened to him, what we know is he just lost his temper, this can influence the morale of the entire staff, which shouldn’t be the case.”

Zhu Xiao Tian: What did he say? I don’t know anything about it.

Yesterday, this reporter called manager Zhi Xiang Li, he sighed and said: “First he threw the script, next he threw the teacup, rumors have been increasing, it seems XT is capable of throwing everything all at once. He said: Right now, XT thinks, "I don’t care whatever the world says about me. Even if one day JJL says these things in my face I will not answer back at him. I will simply accept it.”

CLX investor Canton Qiang Shi Movie and Television Company person in charge said: “The news on ZXT is absolutely not true. What actually happened is: “Actually, you all saw the situation last month at Xin Jiang, ZXT is very attentive to what the director says, he will just do what is required of him. Since it isn’t ZXT who “forced” the director to leave, what actually caused LLJ to resign? The person in charge was vague in his explanation. This person isn’t willing to reveal his identity. Actually, JJL was fired, because Qiang Shi TV boss You Jian Ming and JJL don’t agree on how to go about with the script. He wants to stick to the original script but YJM wants to change it and no one wants to give in. There aren’t many people who know about this “firing” thing. In order for JJL to save face, he placed the fault on ZXT.

For Taiwan idols to earn more money they’re entering Mainland China; they’re all well known; as a whole their expression is not good. Zhu Xiao Tian got the part of “Chu Liu Xiang,” he hasn’t even started filming a lot of people have said he is a fat XiangShuai. These idol drama have handsome stars, they advance to the mainland cause they have the expertise to do ancient costume dramas. Becoming good is not easy, establishing yourself only as an idol will make you fade fast.

Shanghai Qiang Television manager Ren Shi Zheng stated it clearly: “Taiwan Idols are not popular in the mainland.” He cites Mike He who plays the lead in “Let’s get married!” China has seen this drama. But no one is willing to buy it. On the other hand, Taiwan idols in China don’t necessarily guarantee box office success, because Taiwan Idol drama rhythm is rather slow, adding to these is that producers do their work in a rough and slip shod way and it ruins the market.

Ren Shi Zheng thinks of testing the box office and drawing power of Taiwan idols, F4 was popular in China, their packaging was successful and they had “star” glamour, but in recent years China has also produced their own young idols like Huang Shao Ming etc. they have already outstripped the attractiveness of Taiwan idols.

Senior drama producer Ruan Qian Zhi said: “Taiwan idols who stay in China, no matter how fashionably packaged they are or use ancient costumes to dress up, the next test is if they are willing to do “hard work.” Ruan Qian Zhi said presently not many think of Taiwan idols for ancient dramas. She explains: “If idols are natural they can come up with a show but what if you don’t know how to do the movements of an ancient drama? Then that idol will have a hard time.

In the early stages of the idol scene in Taiwan it had Wu Qi Long, Su You Peng, these actors emerged in China via ancient dramas. Ruan Qian Zhi indicated: “Aside from the life-span of an idol, you need to gauge the skill of the artist.”

Producer Lin Cai Xiang hit the nail on the mark when she commented about Zhu Xiao Tian getting the role of Chu Liu Xiang: “When he got the part he really worked very hard. How can he compare with the experiences of Huang Shao Ming, Lu Yi? If he can’t come close, he can only do the likes of Meteor Garden, there is no leeway.

In order to have a positive outlook, Lin Cai Xiang thinks that the Taiwan market is small, only those with real talent can take the challenge of developing outside. She cited ZXT as an example: “How many Taiwan idols can go through this hardships? Only a few of them can be persuaded to leave Taiwan. Otherwise there really isn’t any path for them to take.

I've been away for awhile & Ken Chu seems to be doing a lot lately. Didnt knowthere's a new edition of CLX. I just read about The Tokyo Trial being released and City of Sky is now shown in Taiwan right?And now he's doing CLX? Phew! He's a busy bee these days. i wanna watch this too!
