Zhang Li Yin and Super Junior Become Friends of Jackie Chan

SM Entertainment’s Zhang Li Yin will be attending the press conference for Jackie Chan's “Descendants of the Dragon: Jackie Chan and Friends” concert on Sunday, April 19, 2009. Super Junior-M will be attending the concert on May 1.

Currently in Korea preparing for her second Chinese album, the SM Entertainment soloist is expected to return to Beijing for the press conference on Sunday. The concert, called “Descendants of the Dragon: Jackie Chan and Friends” is to commemorate the Sichuan earthquake that happened one year ago on May 12, 2008. Besides the Sichuan-born singer being invited, her labelmates Super Junior-M is also invited to the concert, though they will not be attending the press conference on Sunday.

The concert will start on May 1, the beginning of China’s three-day May Day holiday. Zhang Li Yin and Super Junior-M are expected to perform on the concert’s first day before returning back to Korea on May 2. Other guests expected to be at the concert include: Emil Chau, Wang Lee Hom, Jane Zhang, Hacken Lee, Joey Yung, Khalil Fong, Alan Tam, Charlene Choi, Jonathan Lee, Angela Zhang, Eric Tsang, Li Bing Bing, Li Yuchun and Rain.

Held at the Bird’s Nest (the nickname for the Beijing National Stadium), Jackie Chan will lead over 100 artists under his name, having the first ever concert to be held in the Beijing Olympic stadium. A stadium that costs $450-million to build, and can hold 91,000 attendees, has been relatively defunct since the end of Paralympics Games last year.

Rain to Join Charity Concert in Beijing

South Korea’s top pop idol and actor Rain will perform at a charity concert to be organized by Hollywood star Jackie Chan in Beijing May 1.

The ``Good Friend Concert’’ will be staged at the Beijing National Stadium with nearly 100,000 seats. All the proceeds from the performance will be donated to charities.

Rain, 27, and Jackie Chan, 55, met last year, when they performed during the Beijing Olympics closing ceremony at the stadium.

J.Tune Entertainment, Rain’s agency, said, ``Jackie Chan invited Rain ― who has a lot of interest in charities ― to appear in the concert. We are pleased to be in an event organized by Jackie Chan who is famous for his good conduct.’’

Meanwhile, Rain will hold a fashion show for his brand of ``Six to Five’’ in Hong Kong in early June.

Good for him. The best pay back to the community is charity. When it comes to a big star like him, all he needs to do is make an appearance for minutes. It doesn't cost him anything; besides, this kind of event would bring him more fame.

On the afternoon of April 19, Jackie Chan once again arrived in Beijing to meet with the media on the “Descendants of the Dragon: Jackie Chan and Friends” concert. Artists like Allen Lin, New Painted Faces and Zhang Li Yin specially arrived at the press conference to greet Jackie Chan. Jackie Chan that currently over 100 guests have been invited, promising that there will be many songs that the audience could join in and sing along to.

For this concert, the “friends” part would have to be the most talked about topic. Today, Alan Tam, Hacken Lee, Emil Chau, Jonathan Lee, Fang Datong, Van Fan, Chris Lee, Rain and Super Junior all sent in VCRs to say their good wishes and expectations for the concert in May. Jackie Chan said that he expects that Super Junior’s 10+ members will be at the concert for an appearance. Allen Lin, New Painted Faces and Zhang Li Yin specially arrived at the press conference to give Jackie their support, all looking forward to participate in the performance. Tickets are now available, and are getting quickly sold out at box offices. Jackie Chan said himself that he has bought several tickets for his own friends, and he hopes everybody will enjoy the show.
