CHARACTER INFO:
Cha Songjoo-Kwon Sangwoo

President Min's oldest and only son. He was a pianist since he was young. Recently he is the leader that is going to take over Global Group and he inherits it.

The showpang concert is a special show at the amusement park. After the performance is over and the audience is clapping. The guy who is getting up from the piano is Cha SongJoo. The applause is getting louder but there is only one woman that comes into Songjoo's eyes.

Jungsuh, Han Jungsuh...his destined love

He liked playing the piano since he was young and had talent but because of his repuation of being the only son of Global Group, he only enjoys piano as his hobby. Song Joo is playing the piano not to become a worldwide pianist but to play Jungsuh's favorite song for her.

Song Joo and Jungsuh are like identical twins. If they stand next to each other, they are mistaken for being siblings. They are both left handed, have the same blood type, and both like the amusement park...also if one person is sick the other person gets sick too. So both try not to get sick because the other might get sick. both are like one body. Both can find out each other's feelings just by their breathing sound, they have telepathy b/t their relationship.

Han Jungsuh-Choi Jiwoo

Professor Han's only daughter. She always dreamed of becoming a pianist. But recently she is an employee of Global Group.

She grew up under good parents but after loosing her mother to a sudden illness, she lived with her father. But she is bright and pure to the pt where she doesn't feel lonely without a mother. She works hard so her father won't be pedantic about not having her mother around. She can tell by looking at her father's eyes.

She takes after her father with the personality of not knowing the world and not able to yell and saying bad things to people. Her dream is to become a artist but her ear for piano is deep. She looks childish on the outside but after her dad got embarassed about getting remarried to her she said to her new mom "Make my father happy." She is a person who keeps her feelings inside when troubled and in a hard situation. After Songjoo went abroad, she waits for his letters but after recieving not even 1 she feels worried inside.

Han Taehwa-Shin Hyunjoon

Tae mira's son, Yuri's brother and Jungsuh's step brother. An artist...

He doesn't care about other people's work and is locked in a world of himself. He really doesn't talk a lot, self-conscious and somber. It seems like he's waiting for someone to put on a fight. If Songjoo doesn't like fighting and is logic then Taehwa is a person who's fist is likely to fly out first.

He doesn't talk a lot but he is loyal and is acknowledged. In one corner of his heart, he hugs saddness and is thirsty for affection. He doesn't trust anyone except himself. He is holding hatred against his birth mother Tae Mira because she just gave birth to him and Yuri and left them alone.

He was in shock when he first met Jong Suh. She had a thing where whatever she said it wasn't rejected by any person. As soon as he was born he was left alone by his mother and when he was living with his mother, his mom's world only concentrated on Yuri so he was left alone again. Jung suh gives a bight smile to him as a gift.

Han Yuri-Kim Taehee

Tae Mira's secret daughter. Taehwa's sister, Jung Suh's step sister. University of New York's Master of Business Administration and Global group's General manager.

She was born with a pretty face. In front of people she acts nice, polite and knows how to give care to people. One word an angel. She can't bear to loose. She acts cute and nice to people whom she wants to earn points from.

She hates the luminosity in Jung suh that she doesn't have. She spills all her anger and frustration on Jung Suh. She abuses and is mean to Jung Suh but this leads to Taehwa liking her.

She can't stand that the 2 guys she loves most, Taehwa and Songjoo loves Jung Suh. She crashes Tae Mira's life. She is ruining people's life and at the same time ruining her life.

Ep 1 and 2 previews:
Stairs heaven preview part 1

During Jungsuh(Choi Ji Woo) and Songjoo(Gwon Sang Woo)'s early childhood years,
they have been taking care of each with love that was more
than just simply 'brother and sister' love.
Jungsuh (Choi JiWoo) especially received help and support
from Songjoo (Kwon Sangwoo) when she was going through difficult times;
Jungsuh also leaned on Songjoo and started to fall in love with Songjoo.
Suddenly Songjoo loses his father in a car accident, and Jungsuh's birth mother also dies from eye-cancer.
Through these happenings, Jungsuh and Songjoo get closer together.
Since her mother's death, Jungsuh lives with her father Professor Han,
and he marries an actress Mira. Mira brings in her children,
Taehwa (Shin Hyun Jun) and Yuri (Kim Tae Hee)
from her ex-husband Pilsoo At this time, Songjoo's mother
President Min succeeds in her business, and Jungsuh prepares for overseas studies. However,
one day Jungsuh falls into a trap by Yuri's jealousy and goes
through difficult times as Mira suddenly changes her attitude towards her.

Stairs heaven preview part 2

Stepmother Mira and Yuri's plan stops Jungsuh from leaving,
so she has to let Songjoo go alone.
When Yuri sees this from far away, she feels angry and jealous.
When Jungsuh returns home, she has to put up with Mira, Yuri,
and Taehwa. Mira tries to make Yuri the most beautiful person
in the whole world, as her only daughter.
Mira also wants to win the heart of Songjoo so she keeps
bringing Yuri into situations where it makes it difficult for Jungsuh.
When they even take away Songjoo's letters, Jungsuh is stunned.
When Jungsuh finds out Taehwa's birthday is soon,
she prepares something. Taehwas birth-father Pilsung also
remembers and prepares cheap sneakers and heads for
Taehwa's house.
When Pilsung coincidentally run into Yuri and Mira,
he is surprised at the change of them. Taehwa gets
angered at how Mira treats Pilsung. Taehwa starts to talk
back to Mira. Jungsuh prepares sea-weed soup and a handmade
scarf for Taehwa.
Through Jungsuh's love and care, Taehwa begins to open up
his heart….

i love this series...it's a must see one. Kwon Sangwoo does an excellent job for his portrayal of Cha Songjoo. I also love the two kids who played the younger version of Cha Songjoo and Han Jungsuh. Also...the necklace that they both wear is really pretty. Totally recommend people to watch this.

This drama is really good. Kwon Sang Woo and Ji Woo performance in here so outstanding ... very expressive ..... Eventhough, it is a typical korean drama story, but it was packaged in a very attractive way .... The ending was pretty sad ending ... but still very good . Not to mention , it involves many tear dropping scenes ...

i've watched this until ep 8. Those first eps with the kids are boring, after that it's quite enjoyable but then it goes a bit downhill. Much like winter sonata. I've just stopped watching winter sonanta after some episodes, cos it's just getting plain boring and dragging. Maybe I need to watch some more romcom series.

Hey, could someone please spoil the ending for me? Pweeeaaassse. I'm considering buying this, but I REALLY don't want to get it if either of the two main characters dies - I can do the sad stuff, just not the terribly sad stuff.

My friend got hers in Hmong, and it ends with the stepbrother dying, but the two love interest are together and happy - but all the stuff she gets is compressed and edited to death. And from what I've been able to glean from reviews, it ends sadder. I don't know, though. I can handle even the most depressing stuff if the couple is together at the end.:)

Oiy, I really like the guys who stars, `cause he was awesome in "My Tutor Friend"........ clapclap

This series created quite a hype in Vn. People are all talking about it, but the ending sucks real bad. I read some spoilers and that made me hesistant to continue watching. I dislike sad endings.
I only watched the first 2 eps so far and didn't like it a bit. The first two talked about these ppl when they were young. Some parts reminded me of Endless love, another series I hate. I hope it will get better. However with my personal experience of Kdrama, the series will start out great, then after that, they start to drag till the end. Some examples: Winter Love song, Romance, Shooting star, Bright girl, Beautiful days, etc...

At first I didn't really mind the sad endings - I thought that it was quite different - y'know, I was getting tired of all these somewhat "happily ever after" endings from other countries. However, it is quite difficult and depressing to watch the characters die off after developing such an attachment to them.

the tear from the actors and the viewers is just non-stop......it's like an emotional roller coaster....it's a sad serie for sure...but i think it's not a sad ending to the characters...because all three of them have fulfilled their own wishes at the end...

Kwon Sang Woo is just adorable and Choi Ji Woo is really pretty~i love them!! blush

the character(step brother) played by Shin Hyun Joon is the saddest....i like the character very much....he is like a guarding angel to them~

It took me a long while to prepare myself to watch this series. I don't like sad endings because they ruin my days being upset over it. Finally I got courage to watch it and used up half box of tissue to wipe my tears and blow my nose. I like Choi Ji Woo and Kwon Sang Woo and I don't think she looks too old for him. This series is comparable to "Autumn Tales". I enjoyed both series despite the sad endings.

Kwon Sang Woo is so hot!!!! Choi Ji Woo is a bit too old for him agree? But i rather tht both of them died..wonders how oppa can live without her..doesn't seem to go in line with how much he loves her but then again..if he dies..it would just the same ending as Autumn..

yeah it was pretty good for a korean drama ! at that time, my korean friends were all raving abt how it was the best drama ever! since then its been surpassed by shows like couple from paris, phoenix, full house, what happened in bali etc. but i think it nicely defined the tempo for 2004 dramas hehee

its fast paced, teary, heaps dramatic + i loveeeee the music !!!!!!!!!! background music really adds value to the show here !!!!!!!!1

i lubbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb !

Not another korean series where the main character died in the end. How does she died - not another uncurable disease I hope.

I heard the cantonese version dubbed by TVB was cut (scenes was takes out) and music was changes. Is that true?

haha, she did died of a uncurable diesease. Eye cancer. Wished they didn't let her die, so sad... Very good series, strongly recommend to everyone. The male lead is very hot!! His on my list of fav male korean stars now. Both the male and female leads look very compatible.

Yes, I completely agree....korean series were made to earn the tears from the viewers, though i have to say some of the storyline is rather good...but the sad ending is making the series rather 'discouraging' to watch. clapclap
