i liked MG1 a lot better than MG2...in MG2, the only parts that i liked was the beginning and when Lei kissed SC on the bridge. Even though MG2 was kinda a disapointment to me, I still support F4 all the way !

it was a bit dragging for me eh...almost half the series showed yesha and dao...well almost all my allowances were spent there..and it was really expensive that time... can't forget those times

It's because I've irregular schedule in school and internship way back MG2 days so I don't manage to record it anymore. Besides, it's more expensive to record it knowing that it has 12 more episodes from MG1.

Yeah, you're absolutely right! It's very expensive recording each eps especially when you need to buy VHS tapes every now and then to be sure that you won't miss even one line of San Cai. '

I didn't like MG2 too much.. because I didn't want to see DMC and SC break up.. I like to see them together... so.. if they have a MG3 then they will have to beak up again...

When i 1st saw Meteor Garden on tv it was just a glimpse of it.....
The next day my sister told me that there was a chinovela on ABS-CBN
that a lot of people are interested on....I watched for 30 mins and
i was moved by it.... They captured my emotions....
There was this beautiful chemistry and spark of DMS and Shan Cai....
It's like they are perfect for each other.....
I wish that they will end up in each others arms not just on
television but also in real life.....
No offense to the fans of barbie & Blue!!!!! '
I Love Meteor Garden I & II..... The writers, directors, producer's,
the cast and other people who participated to the chinovela THANK YOU

MG1 was the best of the two. MG2 didn't meet my expectations (IMO - It was horrible), and I think they should have left the story at MG1. I did not like MG2 at all compare to the first one. MG2 seem to sway into a new direction (mood wise). Heh '

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh apart from the 1st epi, this show SO did not pick up until the 26th epi or something !!!!!!! when san chai fled to the bush + lei went to pick her up !!!!!!!! OHhhhhhhhhhhhh it was sooooooooooo pweetyyyyy there !!!!!!!!!!!!! i wanna have a bush hut like that !!!!!!! =| I LOVEEEEEEE LEIIIIIII ..... nonono i LOVED DMS ! but after he got on with that colgate teeth girl, the passion died. pft. she shouldve gone to japan with lei. bugger.

then again , i loved how san chai + dms met up in barcelona ... :sigh:

i realise they had to make things different to MG1 ... but in all honesty, i doubt many of us wouldve complained it was identical to MG1 hahahahaha man that show had the right chemistry + moves. it was hollerin !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I felt the same way...that the story was dragging on for too long. I found MG2 quite boring at times, and i didn't like the personality of the doh ming tse with amnesia. He was just too ordinary!

I had to fast forward to watch it....but that's just my opinion too

THey should have stopped at MG1 this is totally unnecessary it drags the story on too much. they should stop the focus on jerry and big s they should just focus on the other F3s. i did not like michelle saram at all!

MG2 was extremely disappointing. it was such a waste of them. the show went in a complete circle..literally. it had some cute moments but i still didnt like it. nonetheless, it'd be cool to see a MG3 =)

They dragged the part about SMS and YS...that michelle saram ruined the show!! They should have sticked to the comic series, dms only lost his memory for a little while, not like more than half the show. meteor garden 1 shall always remain the classic....

I hate when Yei sha and dao ming se were together. But i love the part when jerry yan remeber his thoughts in the hospital. Dao ming se and shan cai are koOl i mean great couples in meteor garden 1 and 2!! Way to GO F4!!

I think that the first meteor garden was way better. When the second Meteor garden came out they wanted to change ah si's personality. but i think it was his arrogant personality that draws in viewer and awes them.

MG2 was more boring compared to MG1. The storyline was too long, and there wasn't alot going on. However, their acting in this one was better than the first one.

MG2 made the worst error...pairing up DMS with someone else! Why didn't they understand that DMS cannot be with anyone but Shan Cai?

Aside from that monstrous sin, there were just too many weak line readings by the actors [Jerry was the worst culprit, half the time he was mumbling, hello fella, you gotta speak up] and the storyline was too far-fetched. It got to the point when it was plain ridiculous. Princess of the what Mu-dan kingdom? C'mon. I'm not an idiot. And how convenient Yesha's illness was, wasn't it. Lots of scenes could've been cut out and nobody would've noticed. Dao Ming Feng was *too* outrageous, please, nobody's that conked out lah. The ending was too rushed. And a poor, gutless, timid DMS is just no fun. He was more pathetic than anything else. Amnesia doesn't DO that to people! How could he have undergone a total character change?

The only saving grace was Lei's sweetness and omnipresence, but that's poor consolation. Lei can only do so much to saving the drama from a fall off the cliff. ...Though I thought that sometimes Lei proved to be a tad *too* intelligent, it got unbelievable too.

i actually like both mg1 and mg2 about the same since i'm mostly watching it for lei/vic, haha. although the second one, with the whole amnesia thing was sooo played out, making the whole thing seem quite pointless... but lei is fantastic in both and to me that's all that matters. i loved all the moments he had with shan cai

I like this movie.... if there is no MG I ... then this is one good happy ending movie, and because it was in spain... the views are so pretty... and I especially like the songs they use in the MG II better.

Casting Michelle in MG II is the worst decision the producers of MCII has ever made. I dislike the way she giggles throughout the drama series. It gets to a point where she gets really annoying. And the best part was she was found to be a princess of some sort. '

Also, the story is way too draggy for my liking. Jerry Yan should trim his hair a bit. He'll look good otherwise. Lastly, I think Jerry and Barbie should be given more time to be together so that we can watch more of the chemistry between them.

about that final fantasy-looking pic on the first page, the guy's face doesn't look like vic anymore. it looks like the guy in huan zhu ge ge who ends up with ruby lin's character.

about the comment that kattie made regarding vanness wu, what's "yau ying"? sorry, my chinese not good.

about the series, i liked it equally as much as i liked the first installment. i didn't know the story from the comic book before watching the tv series, so i don't have any expectations or whatever. i just took the story as it comes. i like all the relationships in the story, dms with san cai, san cai with lei, lei with jing, dms with ye sha, etc etc. no bias towards any of them. i thought that this 2nd installment is a lot more mature than the first one, got a lot more adult situations. thus i felt like they did a good job developing the characters, even if it is deviating from the comic book.

michelle saram was just bad in MG2. she and jerry did not match at all! and when dms lost his memories, his character became so boring that i only looked foward to watching F3 & Shan cai. i really liked the scenes towards the end when lei and shan cai got closer. i was totally rooting for them too. haha...the scenes in spain were just weird imo. not a lot of use.

MG 1 is still one of the best films I watched and still watch it now and again when I have time.

I thought MG2 was too long. Ye Sha wasn't bad but public opinion always goes against the 3rd party. After MG1 I wanted to see more of DMS and SC especially since he lost his memory I watched the whole film waiting for him to recover his memory and realise his love for SC but I was really disappointed.

It wasn't a romantic reunion. Neither did DMS make much effort to get back with SC.

Must comment that I think ZZ / Lei looks so much better in MGII !!!

i think MG1 is better than #2. strong story in #1, but it's really weired story in #2. i only watch half of it then i just stop to watch it...not that good...and getting bored.

I thought Meteor Garden 2 was okay. I never watched Meteor Garden 1, but I never really liked the performances with F4 and Barbie that much. The most exciting parts in Meteor Garden to me was between Mei Zuo and Xiao Qiao. I really like their relationship and how he starts to like her eventually. I have to say that her cello playing at the concert really sucks, you can tell she's just acting and doesn't really know how to play right there. But the storyline between them is great.

MG2 is not that bad maybe because i'm a VicBie fan and they have a lot of scenes in there.LOL

but if to concentrate in the storyline it's ok if Jerry and Bie is to be paired for it is what the story has to be. but there are a lot of parts that makes me fast forward that doesn't really have to be in there.

I think the Jerry and Barbie's fans hated this the most because they don't have much scenes in here anymore.LOL

MG 2 had too many subplots. Nobody cares about the old woman who liked sponge cake, nor the village girl with the rebellious brother. If they'd cut all that out the show would've been much faster to get thru. Plus DMS' mum got a bit too crazy. Still I can tahan MG 2 because of my Hua Ze Lei scenes! *swoons*

i liked MG1 better because i was okay wit DMS and SC ending up together and thought they made a cute couple...... the story of MG1 was more interesting and funny, some of the stuff that SC and DMS did in MG1 were hilarious and cute....i was satisfied with the whole thing.....but after watching MG2 i wanted SC and Lei to end up together because Lei did so much for her and he was so sweet...i actually cried in the scene where he told Ah Mei tat his relationship wit SC actually never started and tat no one can end the story of DMS and SC, i felt so bad and cried even more when he said tat "in this world there are two kinds of regrets, one is not being able to be with the one you love the most and the other is when you can't give the one you love the most happiness"...before he left for Japan he left a message on SC's cell saying that the only thing he couldn't give her was happiness ( i think all of this was from episode 29).....wat Lei said totally melted my heart and i loved Zai Zai ever since.......anyways....the amnesia thing totally mess up DMS's character.....MG2 was kinda draggin and the plot was kinda depressin because everybody seems so unhappy most of the time and there were not as many funny scenes as in MG1..... i was mad tat SC and DMS ended up together instead of SC and Lei....i think the only thing that i liked in MG2 was Mei Zuo and Ying Xiao Qiao's love relationship because they were cute and Chan Qing He was kinda funny

I actually thought MG2 was quite good. I heart goes out to Lei, he love Shan Cai so much and do so much for her but yet he still has to give her back to his buddy Dao Ming Si. As for Dao Ming Si, damn his character really piss me off. He is so heartless toward Shan Ci. I really admire F3 friendship with Shan Ci, I thought that was really sweet.

i personally loved, absolutely adored MG 1! Though MG 2 was a dissapointment [mainly b/c of michelle saram's character, yesha], i still liked it to a certain degree. Loved most of the 1st episode [until he gets into an accident], but the ending was just weak.. it lacked originality and just left you hanging! [geez, "so the story continues" - they shouldn't have ended it with that..] On the other hand.. I have a question.. does anyone know the title and artist of the song that played during the scene on the hill w/ DM and SC [towards the end of MG 2], when he started walking away from her?!? I've been trying desperately to find out that title, but have miserably failed. id appreciate it if someone helps me out here.. thanxxx!

Like everybody else on this thread, i love MG1 and it was also the first taiwanese idol drama that i have watched. However, MG2 was such a let down, i think that the story drags too much especially those parts with michelle saram's character. And the ending was pretty abrupt and expected kinda ending too.

MGI got me SOOOO hooked. I found myself not sleeping and not doing homework to finish it. After the first episode of MGII, I stopped and watched the last episode. They shouldn't have toyed with the sequel.

it's not that interesting as all i can remember about e show was dao ming si and shan cai and ye sha...other den that,i dont think other actors really have alot of chance acting in that series...
as compared to mg1.e story includes all e different actors and their diff stories...so it makes e whole series: "ROCKS"!

ok after reading the bloody summary for meteor garden 2...i want to freaking chuck it out the window...i love meteor garden one so much...but im going to watch mg2 for the heck of it so i can hate the whatever girl character that was that needs the heart transplant...man...its so freaking slow starting off...i wanted it to be happy...i would have wanted san chai to get hit by a car lol her character that is and then Dao ming si whould be all ZOMG what have i done..pft..the movie line should have been so much better....

Meteor Garden 2 may not be as good as the first one but its not that bad either, meteor garden 2 showed how the characters handled/dealt with their adult responsibilities, how they made decisions that affects not only their lives but those that surround them as well, it also showed a lot about friendship & love. It may not be as feel good as the first one but this series is a good watch in its own way....

it actually has a lot of good/funny/feel good scenes that made me and perhaps other viewers smile

compared to other taiwanese dramas, mg2 is certainly one of the better dramas but it is a terrible sequel. angie cai: stick to the formula. it works. i don't know why the hell she digressed from the original meteor formula when every other producer tries so hard to use it for themselves. maybe because it was also during the winter sonata fandom and she tried to match it, but she was dead wrong. iMG is a romantic comedy, why the hell it became a drama? stick to the formula, it's sequel making 101.

i think the original script and plan for the sequel was much better, it just suffered along the way. first mistake: replacing director cai with three different directors.

second: casting. i know it's shallow, but it's tv. you have an international audience. it's all about eye-candy. i don't want to offend but mg1 had better looking cast than MG2.

third mistake: ye sha. the development of the character and the casting for the character is disastrous. if you read the script before watching the series, ye sha's character isn't that annoying or shady. but on screen, ugh. michelle saram had the face for it, but not the talent. it's funny when people say if you could hate yesha so much, it means michelle was very effective. lolz and no. the woman couldn't act to save her life. she destroyed whatever little that could be redeemed from the character of ye sha. that's why people are so mad. another thing, the reason why so many people loved MG, especially girls, because they could identify would shan cai: average girl with average looks, average student, average daughter, not too much luck with friends, always worrying about money. she's our girl, and she gets the knight in the shinning porsche. then comes yesha who is the epitome of that perfect girl in high school who everyone hates but secretly want to be. she's tall, pretty, artistic, speaks tons of languages, and she's not the prom queen, she's a friggin princess of bhutan. just when the average girl shan cai finally gets the BMOC Dao Ming Si, princess perfect yesha steals him. and when i saw ye sha in the red and white uniform xiao you used to wear. i was "That's it! you wanna steal the best friend role too?!" and people wonder why we hate yesha. look at kristine ke in MG1. she also tried to steal ah si while trying to befriend shancai. but we still found her charming and adorable, we didn't hate her, we actually felt sorry for her.

what's more, the disaster of mg2 doesn't start and end with ye sha. it's a lot of things. editing, wardrobe (jumper tank tops, really ah si?), the desire to give all four of them equal camera face time didn't help the story: lei turned from weird and mysterious to simply freaky and depressing, mei zhuo turned from cool-headed to overheated drama king, xi men became too uptight and serious, where's the love? and for the story to end in spain didn't give viewers enough resolution and closure for the story. even with 31 episodes, it lacks conclusion. they didn't leave cliffhangers, just simply loose ends. it was just a bad production overall.

meteor garden I is better in my opinion.. its shorter too..

meteor garden II is good..buts its so long and draggy in some parts..

here's my opinions

i think that barbie looked a lot prettier in the first than the second.. in the second. her face as more oily.. and she looked more tan and darker in skin color..

but the hairstyles of the F4 look a lot better in the second than the first.. i hated mei zhou's haristyle in teh first.. he looked a lot better in the second..and xi men's hair was short and he looked wiered with glasses.. in the second he looked better.

but out of all i still think meteor garden is a better series than the first

also i liked shan cai in teh first meteor garden more than the second.. i pratically hated her in the second.. she was just annoying and pathetic wimp.. she was always always crying .. i was just getting really mad.. like she's supposed to be a very strong determined character.. but after watching teh second one.. my views totally changed.. and foudn her more of a weakling instead.

Anyways.. i enjoyed watching ye sha's character more instead.. and found her more compatible instead.. DONT' THROW HARSH COMMENTS AT ME AFTER YOU READ THIS OKAY? I RESPECT SOME OF THE PPL THAT SAID BAD THINGS ABOUT MICHELLE SARAM.. honestly i found michelle's acting pretty good in the series.. she was cheerful and happy.. and i find that she's a more better cryer than barbie.. michelle led out real tears..but i never ..hardly see any tears coming out of barbie's eyes.. and i was really hoping that dao would end up with ye sha.. and hua zi lei with barbie.

I want to know what the story is like- but it doenst have to be episode to episode just the main points and the sweet stuff that is worth mentioning. well, sequels is usually not as good as the first part... i think the only part i like of MG2 is the starting episode 1 during the graduation.. F4 driving over the road with rose petals... that looks so nice.. the rest was just blurry to me.. hmm maybe bcoz i dont really like that michelle saram.. argh.. her acting no life, felt so dull.. and not forgotten is her silly fake laugh...

Did you guys pay attention during Meteor Garden I or was i the only one watching??
I mean did you actually forget how insecure and shy Shancai made Daoming Si suffer? Did you forget how HE cried? Did you forget how SHE broke HIS heart? I dunno...i havent watched it yet...but I think this is a sort of payback for Shancai...

Remember the scene when he gave up Shancai to Lei...and he was drinking beer with his friends..and he choked on the beer and collapse at the sink crying?? i mean HELLO?? Could Shancai have been any more evil to him??

She deserves to cry her fair share...he suffered enough at the beginning....I do however think that him forgetting her throughout the whole series is overboard...but still...its gotta be worth a watch...

HAHAH! It's so funny reading responses on how much it sucked. But for some reason, I'm watching MG2 now. I want to finish the whole MG series even if it means watching crap. So far it's not that bad. Vic Zhou is still hot as can be so I'm not complaining. But MY GOD! That Ye Sha girl does annoy me. I thought I was a bad person for hating her but damn everybody hates her. She annoys me so much. I'm just watching for HZL and SC cuteness. I wanted them together in MG1. I don't want them together so much in MG2 though because DMS and SC went through one whole seriesto be together. To have the sequel split them up and love other people would defeat the whole purpose of MG1. I love HZL though. So hot. I love the Zai Zai and Da S so I like watching them act together. I watched MARS and MG1 so why not watch this too.

MG2 was very off from MG1. They could have been two seperate dramas or something. I didn't really like MG2. The characters were too different from the first one. ShanChai especially....all I remembered is her crying all the time....she barely did that in MG1...she was more aggressive and always yelling...There were still some cute and romantic parts in MG2 though.

for a drama, mg2 is still better than most, but it is a bad sequel to the original MG. i think they should have waited until the manga finished in aug. 2003 then made the sequel.

I love that strong bond between F3 and SC, during this whole journey without DMS, F3 has always remained by SC' side, comforting her and supporting her, that bond she has with the 3 guys has strengthen to a state that it's virtually unbreakable...especially the bond SC has with Lei; he was always there for her, he really loves SC very much and although she had lost DMS during that period of time, Lei was not selfish; he did not try to pursue a relationship with SC, instead he remained as a loyal friend to her, and supported her in every way. That is why I love Lei so much, his loyalty, compassion and devotion makes him such a profound person, it's that special bond he has with SC that makes me feel they so much belong together so I was very disappointed that SC ended up with DMS again they just don't match in my opinion.

DMS has always been childish, and it's hard for him to change, even though he lost his memory, he hadn't lost his childishness...but I can't deny that he had really changed after the accident; he had no knowledge whatsoever about his past and his personality, he became this really quiet and shy guy who needed guidance, he really didn't know how his life was in the past, and he depended on YS until he finally starts regaining his memory.
I disagree with u about SC' behavior though, I don't think her behavior is stupid at all, she is actually a very smart girl who stands up to herself, though she knows she's poor, but she stays strong and stands up for what she believes in...it's DMS' childishness that drives her to the edge sometimes, and their constant arguments are strong hints that their personalities are so different, they clash...they really don't belong together! I just don't understand why they still ended up together! Sure they love each other, but for a relationship to last, sometimes love is not enough...with that sort of unstable relationship, I have many doubts of whether or not they will last.
Lei on the other hand is so different to DMS, he is alot more mature, understanding and passionate, he is someone who people can really rely on and trust, he and SC understand each other so much and they are always there for each other, they love each other (though it's not that sort of love) that bond between them is so strong and special, it's unbreakable! I never really liked DMS, his childishness was what pushed me away from him, others may think he's cute at times, but I don't, I find him annoying instead honestly, he is one of my most disliked characters out of ALL the idol dramas I've watched, so u could say that I actually hate him.
And I know u were refering to SC' action, when u mentioned her stupidity...however, I don't find them stupid at all, she denies her feelings because she was afraid, sometimes afraid to face the facts because of what sort of outcome it will reflect on her life, that's not stupid to me, that's being over-cautious. Running away because she wants to leave DMS and the memories of their life together, she did want to stay, but she was warned by DMS' mother; that woman is capable of anything, even ruining SC' life and hurting others she loves...SC didn't want to leave DMS, but she had to to save her friends, she can't be selfish and choose her own happiness over the lives of her dear friends whom she loves very much. Again she tried to deny her feelings for DMS in the beginning, because at that time, though she really did start falling in love with him, she also hated him at the same time, she was just afraid of facing her feelings, u can't really blame her for being scared, we all get scared of the things in our lives as well...so I never considered her actions to be "stupid", because we can all relate to her actions...think about it, what would've we done if we were in her shoes? Suddenly falling for someone we hate, then having trouble fitting into his lifestyle and trying to get along with his monster mother who hates u and is capable of anything? Then had to choose between him and our friends whom we dearly love? After all that, SC at the end still succeeded, she did end up with DMS didn't she? I have to say, she's alot stronger than me, if I was in her shoes, I'll probably run away and not face my feelings! True that it was at the very end that she finally told DMS she loves him, but she had already pursued her feelings for him long before, it's the thought and ackowledgement that counts; she already knew in her heart that she loves DMS and that's why they started dating, that means she has already faced her feelings, it doesn't matter when or if she tells him she loves him or not, her actions speaks for itself

I've just watched episode 17.. Shancai needs someone and she thinks of Lei but don't call him to not abuse of his friendship and 3 seconds later he's the one who's calling her to offer his company and his shoulder.. how magic is that?
Si can't compare to Lei.. the only sure thing I know about MG is the only sure thing Shancai realized clearly "Though I don't know what the end is like I'm sure that if I ever reach there I will find you there too"

I did not really like MG2, I feel sorry for those who watched Part 2 first. I actually know someone would did and totally got turn off. No amount of convincing could get her to watch MG. Lei is my favorite character since MG1 and I like him pretty much from the very beginning.

I hated that they put Lei and San Cai together and then pretty much tear them apart. The scene in that village that San Cai went to get away was really cute but my heart hurted for Lei when DMS came for SC. If DMS stayed away San Cai and Lei would probably end up together. I wanted that to happen since part one. [/spoiler]

I think that Part 2 would have been better if they concentrated a little more on the 3 other guys instead of making a whole plot of seperating SC and DMS with the anmensia. They could have SC and DMS trust challenge like SC takes an internship at a company and some employee or CEO son falls in love with her and DMS is jealous. Things like that happen in between story on Xi Men, Mei Juo and Lei.

Well, if they just simply threw in a love rival who is basically a stranger at first, then that's be abit too ordinary...I guess they wanted something different for the story, and giving one of the primary characters amnesia is definitely a concept that's rarely used in idol dramas. I suspect many people who hated this drama was mainly because of the dramatic separation of SC and DMS and the appearance of YS...others were disappointed because Lei and SC didn't end up together.

For me personally, this sequel is to some extent a disappointment, but it's not entirely shameful, at least, not on SC and Lei's account. I'm actually glad that I had watched this, if I hadn't, then I would not have seen the spectacular growth in the chemistry between SC and Lei I only watched this for their sake! Though I was very disappointed by the fact that after everything Lei has done for SC, she still ended up with that idiotic DMS But I was still happy because SC and Lei spent alot of time together!

They wanted to try something different, but sometimes it's difficult for people to adjust to different...If they wanted the audiences to believe that SC and DMS are meant to be, then that plan certainly backfired Instead of drawing them closer together, they actually pulled them furthure apart. The story just doesn't make much sense on SC and DMS behalf, I mean, how can they expect us to believe that they belong together when for most of the time, they are furthure apart from each other? They were separated from ep 2 onwards till the very end! They got back together again at the very last minute of the drama! Their "love" is certainly very un-convincing It's certainly NO match to that un-deniable special bond between SC and Lei!
The only aspects of this sequel which I love is SC and Lei, and that very strong bond they have, it's un-breakable! I do like MZ and XQ's story too.

Meteor Garden 2 was practically bullshit. Except for the part with Xi Men's dad, Mei Zhou and his childhood friend, those were the only interesting parts. Meteor Garden 1 was definitly WAYYY better. I totally regret watching MG2 now.

Since I couldn't wait for the next upload of MGII I finally found a site with the transcript.. and now I'm really about to cry .. how a girl can let go of Lei and not loving him for the resto of her life and with avery breath in her body is behind my comprension, please, someone need to make me understand this because I'll go crazy. He look at her and see her soul and she knows him by heart.. and still they are not together (and whenever I watch this sho they so reminds me of Dawson&Joey from DC.. ).

i finally wacthed MG2 and felt so sad that there weren't that many scenes on my Lei. I was like, what the h*LL? why all daomingsi and Yesha. I didn't care if there weren't many scenes on Lei and SC, but at least there had to be more scenes on Lei like back in MG but then the result was none. hardly any scenes..therefore, i totally AGREE with all people that the only reason MG2 stayed alive was because of Lei otherwise everything else just went down the drain. I'm really disappointed with the director and the changing of the script. the first 3 episodes started out kind of interesting but then the story really dragged as it deveoped.

true, i felt Lei's pain. That quiet and secretly helping hand for Shancai was just heartbreaking. I loved him for that. It made me love him more.

Anyways, I'm still very disappointed w/ this drama, but I'm going back to watch this whole series again because I forwarded it too much the first round watching it so i assume i missed so many Lei parts that's why i felt there weren't many scenes on him.

I'm on episode 25 and I don't hate MG2 at all. I don't see a good valid reason to hate it much. But I'm waiting for soembody to upload each ep on youtube so I guess it's the waiting that makes it worthwhile. It's not bad. I don't like how Lei is completely missing from the episodes soemtimes but eh. MG1 is better in comparison but MG2 isn't unbearable. Ionno. 5 more episodes.

hey, I started watching Silence at youtube and I'm loving it. Wow, ZaiZAi is just as gorgeous as ever. And I think he makes a very good couple with Megan Lai because she's very pretty in here. I like her in here a lot more than in Mars because I didn't pay attention to her in Mars at all, but here's she's really attractive to me. Like her and Vic lots! As for the lead actress, no answer. I seriously don't find her attractive. Not liking her that much.

True! I loved both MG 1 and 2 although I was very disappointed there were fewer scenes on Lei in part 2. So pissed but I swear he shined the screen everytime he appeared!

And I don't particularly like Michelle Saram's acting.. all she ever seems to do is laugh - which is rather annoying.. But I've noticed that Vic & Ken look quite fit in this series lol

I've just watched episode 25.
Ah Si is stupid and childish as usual - I can't stad him anymore . For all I care he could just drown in episode 24 he would have done me a big favour.
It was really sweet of Meizuo saving the cello from the water, even if part of himself was jelous of what it meant for the girl (I can't remember her name right now).
I miss seeng Xi Men involved with girls.. well, truth is I miss watching him with Xiao You, now he's always thinking about work or worring over that pig head (Ah Si)
The best aprt: obviously Lei Mei has clearly a crush on him. She was watching him with her moth open like she just had a vision - I can't say he's not an amazing vision. He was just perfect, his voice kind and firm telling Shancai to pack up because he had rented a place for her, and the way he talks of her, the way he see her heart so clearly..

I've just watched episode 16, even if the subtitles were orrible or there were no subtitles at all.
As usual the timescreen for Daoming Si is been a big boring annoying waste of time
in general, every scene where Lei is not in is boring so I don't give to much attention to them. Anyway if I didn't already knew otehrwise I would have though Shancai and Lei would be together in the end. I liked that Meizuo encouraged them both being together, and I like his adoring look anytime he see Xiaoqiao it's really good to see such a change in him, the second playboy of the group after Xi Men is finding out what is like to have desire for only a person in the world.
Obviously - as always - the best part of the episode was Lei. The first time he made money with his own work he only think of buyng something for Shancai, I don't remember DMS doing such a simple and sweet thing, in my opinion not even the necklace he dave her can compare to this. I loved how she took care of the flowers, she's always very taken by what Lei does for her
Lei was fascinating while he was playing the violin, when the camera showed the face of Shancai it so reminded me of MG1; whatever happens when Lei play the violin her world stop and he's the only one who exist this episode really reminded me alot of MG1 because when he gave her the flowers she was amazed like the time when he gave her his handkeirchief.
Lei and Xaioqiao's duet was really touching

It has always been very clear that Lei is very devoted to SC, his love and care for her has been very evident in both parts 1 and 2 but it isn't until watching that scene of Lei and Ah Mei at the beach, when u realize Lei really does love SC very much, not only as a close friend, but he also is deeply in love with her he would sacrifice for her, protect her at all costs even though he thinks deep down that he is no match to SC's love for DMS, but Lei doesn't give up on her; he still has hope, he'll always be waiting for her

If u truly understand and can see that special bond between Lei and SC, how can u NOT be touched by it? Lei's ever-lasting devotion and love for SC is something to be envious about
SC may have ended up with DMS, but their "love" in my opinion is NO match to the undeniable strong bond SC has with Lei

I don't know whether it's true but I read somewhere before that the original script of MG 2 is supposed to be LEI ending up with SHANCAI and DMS with YS. Had they stick with the original script, MG 2 would have been better.

True enough the only saving grace of MG 2 was the LEI-SHANCAI episodes.

At any rate, I still find MG 2 a good series even though it has its flaws and errors. The only thing that makes me feel better though is the LEI-SHANCAI fanfictions that end them up together.

SPOILERS AHEAD (to those who haven't seen it, it will save you a lot of time):

This series sucked from the time Dao Ming Si had that car accident and lost his memory. The whole amnesia thing was just stupid, and what's worse the writers had to drag it until the twenty-fourth episode, when he regained it by effin' drowning. If that was the solution, Shan Cai should have drowned the bastard episodes ago, and saved us a lot of time.

I didn't really mind the Ye Sha character, but they just had to make her all dying and sh*t to get our sympathy. She was a great character already, but dying Ye Sha was just plain annoying.

Shan Cai and Lei should've ended up together. They were great (I hear Vic and Barbie fans rejoicing. Shut up. Those zombies can get married and have zombie babies together for all I care). Shan Cai is an idiot.

Thank God for Xi Men and Mei Zuo. They had better subplots than those idiots. It also didn't hurt that they looked pretty damn good in this series. Actually, he was prettier than his girlfriend. I guess the casting directors had a difficult time finding someone who's prettier than Vanness Wu.

Dao Ming Si should've... I don't know. I stuck around basically for Xi Men and Mei Zuo. They were the only things worth seeing. Everybody else is an idiot. Although Mei Zuo is an idiot too, so that makes Xi Men the only normal person. But I digress.

i just since the jap version of meteor garden and i would say its not that bad.. still had those funny parts and not that similar to the taiwan version

it was enjoyable so if u have time go watch it and compare the jap and taiwan version

I hate to say it but the saying goes "the first one is always better." This was such a disappointment. I mean there still are alot of hot guys in it, and hot cars, and great scenery but the plot. It sucked. I mean if you watched just this one and not the first one it wouldn't be so bad. But MG2 was most definitely a disappointment.

Finally finished the series. The ending was crap. Ugh.
[spoiler]How could it just end like that. 4 minutes of them actually being a couple again!? Dissapointment! No marriage! No NOTHING! And Lei still can't have SC. This whole thing wasn't bad. It was coming along okay but from the way it was you would think that Lei would be with SC. But that never happens once again. This was a pointless sequel. It doesn't show anything new. They could have made this okay I think. But they made it into crap. WHO IN THE WORLD DECIDES THEIR FATE ON THE CHANCE OF A METEOR SHOWER!? AND THEN NOT EVEN SEEEE THE METEOR SHOWER WHEN IT DOES COME! So many unnecessary aspects were added into this. I liked some of it but the ending was so bad. I wanted DMS and SC together in this one because SC was so resolute on her love for SC. And Ye Sha doesn't die??? That's not resolved either. To make soemthing like this work there should have been a third MG. One that actually has a point. Like DMS and SC get married. And tell us whether Ye Sha lived or died. And Ximen's love life. He had a reputation for being a womanizer and in the sequel there was no women for him at all. And there was nothing more about where DMS is gonna live anymore after his last dispute with his mother. Does he go buy a place and tell SC to live with him? So many possibilities. Moreover I want to see a happy ending for Lei. They created his character to only love SC now that there's no way to please the fans that want him with SC or to give him an agreeable happy ending. This show couls have done without the sequel. I'm glad I saw it though I guess. Lei was still as great as ever. Sigh..[/spoiler]

Same for me, whenever I watch this, I always stop after the kiss! It's one of my fav SC-HZL moments! and the best part of it is, DMS saw it! I love seeing him in pain since I hate him so much! hehe I'm evil I know!

There's a possibility that she might truly love him but she probably just doesn't know it yet...her love can go either way

well I didn't really watch the whole thing I'm in the process of watching the series I am amost done with it though but so far I'm disappointed I don't like the fact that entire series is about Daoming Si losing his memories and him falling in love with another one...

I'm the type that once reunited with the one you love everything will start coming back..the love that he shared with Shancai will return and everything would be A O K...(then again that's due from too many Shoujo Manga..lol)

Another thing I am disappointed is I only had one mention of XiaoYou...I was more of a Ximen and XiaoYou fan and I liked there s/l more then Daoming Si and Shancai...

Well I am still hoping in the last episode Ximen goes to Canada to reunite with XiaoYou...(agan that's wishful thinking..but still)..

I am happy that in the end they do reunite Daoming Si and Shancai, I know because of everyone saying it..but I didnt like how they played on Lei's feelings for Shancai..I mean playing on the Lei and Shancai fans..they made it seem that they'll get togehter but then in the end she was reunited with Daoming Si...

all in all I'm happy they got back together...disappointed that it took to long and disappointed that they left the Ximen and XiaoYou s/l untold...

I can understand what u mean by how the scriptwriters were "playing" with Lei's feelings...they did make things seem like SC was going to end up with Lei, and for a while, we (Lei-SC fans) were so delighted (I know I was ) because we really thought that they would end up together but just when love was going to blossom for them, they bring that idiot DMS back into the picture! It's just utterly ridiculous how they separated DMS and SC throughout most of the drama, and then bring them back together again during the very LAST few minutes!
Honestly, I don't see that "love" between DMS and SC as true love...it really doesn't seem like it is, to me, it's really unbelievable

In case some people don't know, japan also released their own drama version, and the sequel of it will release next year...I heard that in the sequel, SC ends up with Lei if that is so, then I'll definitely be watching it!

finished it a while ago. it was ok and not that boring but Meteor Garden 1 is way a lot better. I just wish the ending wasnt that very very disappointing. The ending is kinda tells me that there is still a continuation. >.>


Daoming Si's mom is really evil and she's really good at that role xD She deserves an award. xD Poor Ye sha and she is still confusing me.

Do u know who Barbie Hsu is? She's the actress who played 'Shancai' in here, 'Da S' is her nickname.

Anyway, I just learnt that in the original storyline, SC was suppose to end up with Lei and DMS ends up with YS, but because many people hated YS and they did not want her to end up with DMS, they protested and the scriptwriters had to change the storyline and made SC and DMS end up together again! I'm so pissed off! They really should've just kept the original storyline! If people don't like YS, then DMS can still end up being single! or he can find some other girl to be with! Lei & SC deserve a chance! It's so unfair to us Lei-SC fans! and no wonder I thought the SC and DMS "reunion" was so fake and un-believable
I'm definitely gonna watch Hana Yori Dango, particularly the sequel (which will release this year), cuz I heard they stuck to the original storyline, so Lei WILL end up with SC! even though I haven't watched HYD yet, but just the thought of SC and Lei ending up together makes me love it sooooo much more than this!

I'm very positive that in the original storyline for the sequel, SC was suppose to end up with Lei and NOT DMS! But many fans protested because they don't want DMS to end up with YS, so the scriptwriters had no choice but to change the storyline...maybe us Lei-SC fans should've spoken out too! That way, maybe they would've kept the original storyline!
The main reasons why this sequel was a total bombshell was because:

1. many people hate YS
2. SC & DMS were separated throughout most of the drama
3. Lei & SC did not end up together
4. it was too draggy

If they had sticked to the original storyline, more people would've appreciated this.

I heard from my friend who read it at this site 3 years ago about the original storyline being revealed by a source from the production, and about how they had to change the storyline after they received so many complaints and requests.
I recently realized that I used to go to that site, but it was before the info was posted, and now that site is deleted. I'm still trying to find this info she read from other sites, but it dates back more than 3 years ago, so it'll probably be difficult to find.
I've also thought about maybe it was fabricated, but then I thought nah! cuz I used to always go to that site like 4 years ago, and it's a very resourceful and reliable site, it has heaps of info on alot of other dramas and stuff, it's alot like wikipedia, only it has info on dramas and movies only (too bad it was deleted ) that's why I'm so sure that it's accurate...unless u come across info that states otherwise.

I liked Meteor Garden 1 WAY better than Meteor Garden 2. But yeah, people said Meteor Garden 2 wasn't too great but my fault for not believing them. Michelle Saram said that she was gonna give Jerry back to Barbie, but what does she do? Run up and kiss Jerry and having Barbie to cry while walking away! And by the way are Barbie and Blue still together? Some of my friend overly obsessed JnB friends they weren't and some said they were. But if they aren't JNB id the way to go! =) No offence if they still are together!

I still can't believe that SC didn't end up with Lei. What's the point of having them developing a strong bond if they didn't end up together in the end? In my opinion, SC should be with lei, and DMS ends up alone. I feel so bad for Lei. It just seems like he is forever waiting for SC. But I'm happy that he turned down his first love. She deserved it for choosing her goal over him. Even though SC ends up with DMS, it seems like a part of her will always have feelings for Lei.

Just finished MGII yesterday. Compared to MGI this was a a letdown. i think that MG II was really dark and lost the comical sense that made us all really enjoyed MG IThey really dragged out the whole DMS and YS thing. I do not hate YS for coming between SC and DMS, but I am annoyed at her acting-all she did was smile whenever she sees someone-DMS, SC, Xia Ge-theres no difference in her smiles or her expressions. And the conversations between DMS and YS hasn't got much content. I didnt like how YS keeps changing her mind about giving DMS back to SC-this just drags the plot on.

I would have wanted a DMS and SC ending together.But looking at how the plot is going, I think Lei and SC would be a more reasonable ending. In MGI, I really admired DMS -how he did all he can for SC and only loved her and all the funny things he did. But in MGII all these disappeared. In the series, I thought it was more a united F3 than a F4. I really hated how he doesnt want to know about his past even though his friends were so worried about him. Even when he regain his memory he still maintains that distant with SC. The last episode was such a suddne change from his matureness all through to this sudden immature guy again and starts having all these arguements again.

The thing I liek about MG II was how Xi Men and Mei Juo got more parts and we got to know more about them instead of just DMS. At the beginning, I was hoping that Lei would end up with Jing, and that Xian You would end up with Xi Men.

SC will be always feeligns for Lei -she had loved him first before she fell in love with DMS. Putting aside lifetime love-so far we can still see that even thoguh SC has feelings more than friendship with Lei, she is still deeply in love with DMS.

I'm also doubtful of whether or not DMS and SC's love will last...I mean, they are constantly at each other's throats, and they have nothing in common...despite their love for each other, they also 'hate' each other in a way that they are constantly arguing...I doubt this sort of love will last that long

And although SC's feelings for Lei cannot account to that sort of love, but there's no denying that their bond is very strong, I believe a part of SC will always have feelings for Lei, he was her first crush afterall, and although a 'crush' is not equivalent to 'love', they still have a very strong friendship bond, which is lacking in the DMS-SC relationship.
Unlike DMS, Lei will always be beside SC, watching out for her, he will protect her at any cost, even if it means going up against DMS, and he has done that quite a few times already...Lei has always been SC's comforter, he taught her many things, he taught her how to be strong and brave, whenever SC falls down, Lei is always the one giving her strength to stand up again. While DMS has given SC nothing but love, heartache, and SOMETIMES security...but Lei is ALWAYS the protector of SC, he has also given her his love as well, and what a strong love it is!
So while SC endures a 'rocky' relationship with DMS (which I have doubts if it will last), her bond with Lei seems more likely to last a lifetime, because they share much more; they love each other very much (to SC as friends), they understand each other, support each other, this sort of connection is much stronger than SC's relationship with DMS. So when SC does break it off with DMS, she still has Lei by her side, she'll ALWAYS have him
Besides, I think SC is starting to love Lei the same she loves DMS...I mean, if not, then why did she let Lei kiss her? Why didn't she stop him when she had the chance? And why did she ask him to wait for her? Isn't it obvious she is starting to love Lei the same way? It's just sad that pighead DMS came back, otherwise love would've blossomed even more for SC and Lei

I couldn't even finish the sequel. MG I was one of my favorite first taiwanese dramas too. I was excited for II, now I'm just utterly disgusted

Whoah, I watched MG 2 like a thousand years ago, even before I actually watched MG1. But yeah, I'm gonna have to echo anyone who said they liked the first one better.

First of all, I actually loved Michelle Saram as Ye Sha. She's pretty, she's lively, basically I think she was very likable, plus she also had chemistry with Jerry. Wardrobe-wise, they also toned down DMS (and the rest of the F4 too) clothes which were kinda ridiculous in MG1 into something simpler, more comfortable, yet still look good.

Third, the Meizuo story. OMG, that's perhaps one of my favorite storylines in the whole series. I really liked that Meizuo became more of a character cause he didn't really have much role in MG 1, while Ximen had that Xiao You part, and Lei had Jing then later Sanchai part. But in MG 2, we really got to see more of Meizuo since the beginning actually (when he was the most stubborn of F3 to want DMS to regain his memory cause he really treasured their friendship) and then with the violin girl. I will always remember the scene where the girl played that Doraemon song in her concert, that was so romantic.

Those are some good brownie points of MG 2. However, the bad ones are:

Way too draggy. It wasn't really much longer than MG1 if you think about it, but it felt like it was twice as long, which actually still baffles me to this day how that happened. I had a theory that maybe it felt so long cause they started the whole amnesia thing too early. I mean, by ep 2, DMS already forgot who he was leaving the 23 episodes of memory-less DMS (he got his memory back in ep 24, right?) and the 7 episodes of him trying to pay Ye Sha back by staying at her side. Therefore, we literally only had 2 episodes of full on DMS and SC. This in itself, for me was a huge huge huge disappointment.

Another thing is that memory-less DMS is not the DMS we fell in love in MG 1. The real DMS was a harsh, crude guy, with a soft, marshmallow heart. He was boyish, shy, he's easily embarrassed, and he, in all his temper, was darn adorable. Remember the happy dance he used to do? The shy, wide grin he had whenever SC did anything remotely sweet to him. But in MG 2, we got to see a more matured DMS. In a way, it was a good thing , but we also got a somber guy, who lost his annoying charm. To be truthful, watching DMS in MG 1 and 2 was more or less like watching two different guys.

Hehe, I have a feeling somebody is gonna throw me a rotten tomato after I say this. But I was kinda disappointed with the whole Lei/SC thing. True, we didn't really got a closure as to how Lei felt about SC at the end of MG 1 so it was pretty much still uo for debate. But I just felt like it was a bit forced, like they NEEDed to put a little of Lei/SC in there just to balance it out a bit. I have always liked the friendship between SC and Lei in MG. He has always cared about her, looked out for her, her guardian angel, just like he said. And I genuinely thought/think that the setup was a lot better than they having feelings for each other (or I guess in this case Lei having feelings for SC) cause Lei would always be that guy, the guy whom she could turn to for any kind of support. So, I was partly disappointed when they brought up the subject of possible romance between SC and Lei again.

Heh,, there, I said it. Having said all this stuff tho, I think both MG 1 and 2 are good dramas. I mean, it's been years, and thousands of great/better dramas have come out, but MGs still have that particular charm about it. It would always hold a place in Asian Dramas industries.

After I finished watching MG and I heard there was a second one I was like, " I MUST WATCH!!" and yeah it disappointed me a little after the second and third episode but I still watched the whole thing till the end. I liked the on-the-side story with Vanness and his little girlfriend issue lol I found it really cute haha. I wished they made the second season a little better though.

i dont rly like saying this but MG1 was undeniably better. mg2 permanently ruined the sincerity and romantic connection and chemistry between sancai and daoming si. it just ruined their love for each other with the way jerry treated barbie. GAHHH, i regret watching this sequel so much.

and what was with the hair with uhh i forgot his name, but the childhood friend of sancai who's secretly liked her for a long time. he looked gangsta and ghetto, didnt suit him at all, even tho he looked cute in mg1

Omg. I'm feeling extremely nostalgic right now, it's unexplainable. Just, wow... I remember years ago when I lovedlovedloved Meteor Garden and when I saw this thread, I was just like <333. I miss this so much, reminds me of the good old times. ^^

I like Meteor Garden better than Meteor Garden 2. I've always rooted for Lei and Shan Cai together, the couple's relationship was just so sweet and touching and emotional, it really tugged on my heart strings. I've always wanted them to be together, and MG 2 was all about DMS and Shan Cai, so...

Oh and it's so cool cause in real life they're together and when I was younger I really really wanted them to be together and it's funny cause now that I'm older, I found out that they're together and it's just aww...

the first one is WAYYY better than the second one..i think they focused TOOO MUCH on DMS and YS! i got so angry i wanted to fastforward all the parts of them together..i admit itz sweet n all..but SC is the main female lead...i feel sorry for lei....apart of me want lei and SC to end up together...

mg3 should belong to lei & san cai, not becoz i'm zaizai junkies but when i watched mg1 & mg2, really love like dms & sc wont last coz to much disagreement ... how can you be with a person that everything is not eye to eye ... at the end dms & sc will feel miserable ... in a relationship there must be understanding and giving also sacrifices not just love

hehe i didnt like MG 2 so much. SC and DMS were never together thru like the whole series which was annoying. i skipped most of the DMS and YS parts... i just skimmed the subtitles... xP only watched parts when there was F3, DMS x SC, and Lei x SC parts basically.

i hope the love story of DAO MING SZ and SHAN TSAI will have a PART 3, since in MG 2 there were still some obstacles not yet resolved. The Korean version Boys Over Flowers in a nutshell would be MG 1 , MG 2 and Meteor Rain with an ending....Korean version.

It would be interesting to know (after 8 years, literally) how the TW version would have it's ending.
