On 9/18, the production company “Yoon’s Color (윤스칼라)” announces that Sung Yoo Ri (25) and Hyun Bin (24) will lead the drama “Queen of Snow (눈의 여왕)” scheduled to be aired by KBS2 around Christmas. This drama attracts attention because the PD is Lee Hyung Min (이형민) who produced and directed the popular drama “I’m Sorry: I Love You” and the script writers are the duo Kim Eun Hee and Yoon Eun Kyung (김은희, 윤은경) who wrote for “Winter Love Song”.

SYR plays the role Bo Ra (보라) who behaves arrogantly and cynically like an icy princess. She falls in love with her destined love Tae Woong (태웅, played by Hyun Bin) who lives in a third-class boxing gymnasium. The filming team just returned to Korea after the initial shooting in New Zealand. The PD Lee Hyung Min states, “Currently, the scenery in New Zealand is beautiful. I am amazed by Hyun Bin’s performance in his transformed role. I anticipate seeing what image SYR would present to TV viewers in this drama. I believe that it would be an unquestionably big surprise.” SYR’s previous drama was “One Fine Day” while HB’s was “My Name is Kim Sam Soon”.

Hyun Bin's professionalism for acting in a drama is gathering attention.

Hyun Bin is playing Tae Woong who is a rising boxer that becomes a third class sparring partner at a local gym and falls in love with a prominent family's daughter in the drama 'Noon eui Yeo Wang (The Snow Queen)' (script by Kim Eun Hee, Yoon Eun Gyeong, produced by Lee Hyeong Min, Yoons Color Production) that is scheduled to air this coming November on KBS 2TV.

In order to accurately portray his character, Hyun Bin has been training in boxing to the point where the calluses on his hands have been affecting the actual filming of the series.

On the 22nd, the first day of filming on the set at a college campus in Cheonan of the South Choong Cheong Province, the crew had to stop the filming due to the calluses on his hands.

The scene was the first meeting of Hyun Bin and Lee Seon Ho at the Yeong Jae High School entrance ceremony. However, the hand portrayed on camera had too many calluses for a high school student and special make-up was needed.

Meanwhile, the main cast, Seong Yoo Ri, Lim Joo Hwan, Kim Hak Jin, Kim Tae Hyeon, and others, attended the traditional ceremony Gosa yearning for a safe drama shoot despite not being called to set that day showing off their teamwork.

Yoons Color, the production company of 'Noon eui Yeo Wang (The Snow Queen),' opened a teaser website (www.thesnowqueen.co.kr) with still photos of Hyun Bin on location in New Zealand along with the original fairy tale.

Hyun Bin Have Been Casted in the New Drama 'The Snow Queen'



“The Snow Queen’s” main premise is about a young lady and a guy who had both experienced childhood traumas and fall in love each other. Their love melted their icy hearts like a miracle. What kind of a drama do you think it could be with a handsome boy and a bright-eyed pretty girl? Seong Yu-Ri and Hyun Bin have both been chosen to play leading roles in “The Snow Queen”.

'The Snow Queen', its name was derived from Andersen’s novel, is a wonderful melodrama, depicting a love story between a poor boxer and a wealthy woman suffering from a disease. Seong Yu-Ri will star as Bora who has protected herself after a long journey of fighting with a disease and Hyun-Bin who plays Tae-Ung becomes a boxer after suffering from an unexpected car accident. However, Tae-Ung finally becomes the bodyguard of Bora.

In this drama, Hyun Bin will play a poor man living a miserable life and Seong Yu-Ri will play a lofty, arrogant lady. Meanwhile, Hyun Bin played the heroin in both ‘My Lovely Sam Soon’, and ‘A Millionaire's First Love’ in which he stared as a bad, rich man.
But this time, breaking away his image of a rich man, he will play a poor boxer and later, a body guard who takes care of Bora only.

Last time in “One Fine Day”, Seong Yu-Ri was casted as a sentimental girl, while this time she stars as an arrogant, proud lady. Lee Hyung-Min, the producer of the drama, went to New Zealand with Hyun Bin to shoot this drama for the past 10 days since Sept. 4th.

'The Snow Queen' will air on KBS around the Christmas Holiday season of this year.

Wow, Sung Yuri is in here, yayy! Really like her in Thousand Years of Love...her acting is awesome. But Sung Yuri as an arrogant girl? This is a must watch for me since I always thought she is too sweet 'n innocent for this role.
