Mak Ling Ling: Why don't you comment about the later generation as a older sister status. Let's start with the one you are most friend with, Fala Chen.

Tavia: If you don't know Fala, you would feel that she is difficult to get along with. I can say I am very familiar with her and we communicate quite well. She is a straightforward person, direct to a point where it makes people don't like her. Also, she has a lot of principles. She always asks, "Why this? Why that?" She has a lot of reasonings, too. She and I will have arguments, but I know she is a Westerner and she is a 乖女!

Mak Ling Ling: For a girl's point of view, do you think she attracts a lot of attention? The media always writes about her flirting with her eyes!

Tavia: She is attractive! She in fact does have a great figure. I always go "Wah!" when I stand beside her. With such an advantage, there is no reason not to let 外界觀點, 是非所理沒. In my heart, personally she is not that type of person. It is possibly a technique for the cameras and I wouldn't ask her how many boyfriends she has. But, she trusts me and she would tell me a lot things.

Mak Ling Ling: Are you envious of her for having such a great figure to help her get a lot of exposure?

Tavia: I wouldn't use the word envy because I have my way of survival. Besides, she is from Miss Chinese International and I am from TVB's Acting Class. We will have to whose strides are faster! I am quite proud that I am from TVB's Acting Class and that I have not participated in Miss Hong Kong. To be able to sit here and do this interview today, it is from my hard work. Also, I am a rather 慢熱, step by step person. I have been in the industry for ten years, so I understand myself very well.

Mak Ling Ling: How about Kate Tsui?

Tavia: I have not worked with Kate. The most we interacted was at Claire Yiu's wedding. Work related is close to zero. I first met her because of the filming of "On the First Beat," she cut her hair, very tom-boy like and she spoke 粗魯. In "Moonlight Resonance," she grew her long and she is able to be very girly. In some degree, she is quite quiet. She knows exactly what she needs to do and she has her method of acting. She had previously won an award in movies, her acting is quite mature and her improvement is rapid.

Mak Ling Ling: How about Linda Chung?

Tavia: Linda, too does not speak much and she is also a silly girl. She would ask for our opinions and to some extent, she is a nervous wreck and needs us to comfort her. I am already used to it. I have watched her performance in "Heart of Greed" and she acted very well.

Mak Ling Ling: If you are to pick one of the three that you 最睇好, who will you pick?

Tavia: I will pick Linda, because I have watched more of Linda's series. Her performace in "Heart of Greed" made me quite 刮目相看. Her performance if different in there and she turn her crying on and off.

Mak Ling Ling: How about even newer ones like Tracy Ip and Sharon Luk?

Tavia: I have seen Sharon Luk host and I can't comment/judge a person that quickly. I have used many years to accomplish what I have today. But I saw "When Easterly Showers Fall on the Sunny West" and she can spend a little more time [on acting]. I am not familiar with Tracy Ip, even in "Moonlight Resonance" we had little contact. My deepest impression of Tracy is her being a host. As for her series, I do not dare to say if it is good or not, but all I can say is she can be better!

In order to prove that she is not dating, Tavia brought up an example to prove she is not attractive. "I really do have no attractiveness. Why is that? All of the other girls' have rumours as if they are being instructed to have. Ron gives me rides all the time. We have even held hands and walked in Causeway Bay and still no rumours!"


Personal Note: Tavia does not need rumours to promote herself. Just like she said, her fa dan status is from her years of hard work. There are not many female artistes that did not enter the industry through beauty pageants. I really admire them for that. If only Ron and Tavia were a real item! That would be so awesome!

Everyone in the industry knows that Ron are Tavia and under the same management and are close buddies that's why the media doesnt feel that they're together... not like they're doing anything suspicious anyways and they're always close like that. I really like their relatioship. Oh yeah... I think Tavia is like the only popular Fa Dan nowadays who arent from the pagent...

i have soo much respect for tavia. Just because theres like 80% of the female actress which come from beauty pagents. But tavia worked her way up. She didnt have big roles in the beginning but work years to achieve what she has now! so proud of her!

And yup its rare for an actress to not have any relationship rumors but i guess tavia is a different case! =] (i a good way of course)

Seems like a lot of people are interviewing Tavia now ever since she was in Moonlight Resonance. I'm glad her popularity is rapidly growing, its not everyday an actress would comment so honestly about others. Go Tavia!

Going industry through beauty pagents or not, it's just a way of you to take part in the industry. It doesn't mean the actresses who joined industry through beauty pagents are bad and the actresses who joined industry through other ways are good. Good or bad, it's the talent and luck of the actresses.

Not all the actresses use rumours to promote themselves. Who really want to have rumours, especially negative rumours. Rumours may destroy the career of an artist. Of course there r some actresses who wanna use rumours, but famous in this way will fade soon. However, you can't force what the reporters write about you. They uses rumours to earn money.

Base on her comments about other girls, she seems very honest and nice. She didn't put down others just because she just won TVB's best supporting actress award. Expressing that she's been in the industry for 10 years, proves she works really hard for today's status. She deserves that award well.

Actually, Tavia was already a part of TVB when her sister entered MHK. Pageants are so subjective anyways. Maybe Tavia would have gotten better results than her sister. Maybe not. Who knows. I'm just glad she chose to opt out of entering a beauty pageant because it's nice to have someone who we have not seen competing in pageants once in a while. Competing in pageants isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it starts to get boring when every actress you see is from some sort of pageant.

I liked Tavia from the movie where she acted as someone's (not sure if it is Gallen Lo) sister, going out with the brother... cant recall what drama was that, but Tavia has improved all theway to where she is today. That's Golden Faith. Tavia played the character 'Kiko' and was going out with 'Oscar' (by Raymond Lam). She ended up being pregnant and waiting for Raymond to get out of jail.

I never liked Kate. She gives off the same vibe as the b*tch she played in MR.

BUT, I LOVE LOVE LOVE TAVIA. She is so down-to-earth, and hardworking.

Nancy Wu, Fred Cheng, Oscar Leung, Oscar Chan, Cilla Kung, Vivi Lee, etc. They are from the acting class. They are just not lucky enough to have leading roles. Except Cilla, I think Nancy, Fred, 2 Oscar and Vivi can act quite good.

Actually Kate is a nice girl. She is frank. Who doesn't want to have the attention in the industry? I think you should change the bias of you to Kate's face. To judge someone, better than just seeing their faces. And roles r roles only.

^ I dont htink Tavia meant that people from the MHK pageant arent good; it's just that you have to know that if you're from pageant, you get the first priority in them choosing you as their next promoter like Linda, Charmaine, Myolie, Bernice, etc. while it's harder for the people from the acting classes because MHK usually have the charm and tv presence already because they're from MHK they're pretty and that's what you want for a lead role - pretty people... because admit it, most viewers like to see good-looking people that can actually act. Tavia's not going to put down the pageant winners. It's just that she had to do extra work to get up there, to be given a chance while if you're MHK, you'll be given the chance just like that! Tavia even worked as a nun that has no line and no camera screen. She worked also as a award carrier in the past for TVB award ceremony and several extras-roles and cameos before she got to where she is today. People like MHK doesnt go through that.

BTW Let's face it guys. As much as I love Tavia I dont think she will win MHK. Tavia only finish up to form 5 right? She doesnt have the educational background for MHK. I'm not bashing Tavia (gosh I love her so much, why would I??), but for MHK, even those we dont think is beautiful enough, most of them have higher educational background.
