Justin Lo Renews Contract and gets a Pay Rise

Justin Lo and Suki Tong were at the opening ceremony of a Chung Yuen Eletrical Company store , Mong Kwok as the spokespeople. The two arrived in a style as they were driven into the venue in a convertible. Justin disclosed that this is his second year being endorsed by the company and that when they renewed his contract earlier, not only was he pay increased, he was also given a 41 inch LCD television.

Suki revealed that when filming the advertisement, she could not stand being cooped up in room and having cold wind constantly blown at her. This caused her to vomit during the shoot and Justin to laugh at her. Suki said, “I have to take points off him. He is only worth 90%.” Justin then laughed and said, “She actually worked until she vomited. I could not help but laugh.”

Honestly, I thought that it was a boring album. His previous 2 albums were better (although not by much, but it at least had good ballads)

Justin and Stephy got "Married" in Genting Highland
Monday October 20, 2008 Hong Kong

Justin was in Malaysia on the 18th for his concert "Air Justin 2008 Live in Genting" Stephy was his special guest of honor that evening. She wore a short low cut white dress. When she came on stage, the band started playing a wedding song. Justin said jokingly "Wow, I am getting married with Stephy." Justin thanked Stephy for being there and he got all the audience to sing a belated happy birthday song for her. The atmospher was absolutely fantastic.

Lo and behold
By SETO KIT YAN star-ecentral

Justin Lo staged an unforgettable concert for his fans at Genting’s Arena of Stars last Saturday.

It was a concert to remember as Justin Lo rocked so hard he couldn’t leave the stage and had to be carted off; the euphoric fans, meanwhile, wouldn’t leave even when they were told their idol had left.

A 6,000-strong crowd packed the Arena of Stars, Genting Highlands last Saturday night to watch the Hong Kong singing sensation perform in what was the final leg of his concert tour, which had kicked off in Hong Kong and then gone on to Guangzhou.

The star demonstrated his versatility as he tackled various genres - pop, R&B, ballad, rock, hip-hop - during the two-and-a-half hour show. Usually shy, the singer piled on the hip hop persona for his dance solos and repeatedly attempted risky stunts - including one in which his four male dancers tossed him several feet in the air, leaving him to land on his feet.

The boyish-looking singer also showed he had the moves as he attempted popping and locking and even spiced things up with, ahem, a round of dirty dancing with a sexy dancer.

The 32-year-old delivered about 30 songs, mostly smash hits from his albums including his latest, Ah Tin.

Malaysian fans were treated to new tunes like Mei Shue (Haven’t Lost), 30 Yat (30 Days) and Ching Gor (Love Song) as well as his popular hits like Ngo Yau Gam Yat (I Got It Going for Myself), Erica, Kuet Jeen Yee Sai Jou (Battle with the Rich Kid), Hou Yan (Good Man), Volar, Meng Ngang (Hard Life), Ngor Bat Si Hou Yan (I’m Not a Good Man), Nam Yan KTV (Men’s KTV).

Showing off his collection of beanies and caps, Lo had several costume changes - from all-white during the pop segment to all-black during the rock segment and a spectrum of colours in between.

The band was led by his mentor and uncle, the famed music arranger and record producer Ted Lo, and featured an especially lively veteran musician Pal Sin Lap Man (of 1980s Hong Kong rock bands Blue Jeans and Chyna), who is widely regarded as one of the top bass guitarists in Hong Kong.

The New York-born Hong Kong-based singer’s repertoire for his Malaysian gig also included several English songs: Brian McKnight’s Back at One, John Lennon’s Imagine, The Beatles’ Come Together, T-Rex’s 20th Century Boy, and Beastie Boys’ Fight for Your Right.

Lo’s guest artiste for the night was Stephy Tang Lai Yan, with whom he dueted on Hou Sam Hou Bou (Kindness Begets Goodness). As the pretty Hong Kong singer-actress had turned 25 a few days before the concert, Lo led the audience in wishing her a happy birthday by singing Selamat Hari Jadi. The band then played the wedding march, whipping the audience into a frenzy. Dressed in an adorable white babydoll frock, Tang went on to entertain with Din Dang Daam (Light Bulb) from her third solo album Dating Stephy.

Reluctant to leave the hall even after the concert ended, the audience kept chanting his name and calling for encore after encore.

With fans screaming for more, Lo could not help but oblige. And the party went on.

Air Justin 2008 Live in Genting was organised by Genting - City of Entertainment.

Ah Sa is placed to stand on the 4th row
Friday October 24, 208 Hong Kong

TVB Jade Singers Anniversary Celebration is scheduled for 11th of next month. This year's theme is for the singers to imitate their favorite singers in the past. Justin likes wearing a big hat to cover his "M" forehead. He was the focus of attention as he was teased by MC Dodo and Benjamin Chiang. He was so embarrassed that he couldn't reply.

Charlene (Ah Sa) was on her own. She was allocated on the 4th row, unlike Eason, Miriam and Denise Ho who were placed in the front row. Last year, Twins won the "Asia-Pacific's most popular female singer" award. She revealed that this year she has no high hopes for any award. Theresa Fu and Stephy Tang were there too, but they did not talk to each other.

This year TVB organized to allocate the standing position according to the singer's surname. Ah Sa is on the 4th row, together with Wylien Chiu and Jill. Producer Poon Yu Kai put Eason, Miriam and Denise Ho in the front row specially. Ah Sa said she doesn't mind "Never mind, place in order by surname." She revealed she would be imitating Priscilla Chan on that night. She had originally wanted to borrow the costume including the big hat for "Foolish Girl" (傻女) from her, but Priscilla had already given those to a fan. Therefore, Ah Sa had to order the costume and sell it for auction in the internet for charity after.

Justin wanted to dress up as "Q Taro". Dodo teased him that Q Taro is not a singer. Then he changed his mind and he wanted to be Lowell Lo. Dodo joked "You have to take your hat off , you know, you have to consider it carefully." Justin didn't reply. Benjamin added "What about Law Ka Ying?" Justin didn't know what to say as he was embarrassed. He knew Dodo was only joking and he found out afterwards that Benjamin was also making fun of Law Kai Ying's hairless head. Justin had thought about having his head shaved, but he decided to continue wearing his hat until his last show. He chose to be Q Taro and he would make a hat for Q Taro too.

Stephy cruelly rejects snotty Justin
source: orientaldaily
Translated: JPOO @ http://asianfanatics.net

Stephy Tang and Justin Lo are acting together in a new movie [Love Connection], yesterday night they went to Choon Wan (荃灣) for scenary, the plot tells us that because the girl is handicapped she cruelly rejects the boy. Speaking of rejection, Justin started talking about him pursuing girls, about 90% of the girls rejects him, and he continues to count all his own disadvantages: " I'm not handsome, nor is my figure, annoying, and I also like to pick my nose.
Stephy who was beside him said that the most important quality in choosing a partner is that he must be humourous, when Justin heard he immediatly started to crack some jokes, no wonder Stephy said right after " that is not humorous, that is just embarassing"

After Justin acted in [love at first note] a few years ago, he said he wouldn't ever accept another movie, but last night he went back on his word. He explained it out "Director said he would arrange for me to have a kissing scene with Stephy, but it was the end of filming today and I still haven't got my scene yet, if he adds on that scene, i'll act no matter what."
And Justin's Mum and sister specially went to visit him whilst he was acting, Justin said that his mum met Stephy while she was on the aeroplane, he thinks that him and Stephy are fated.

Miriam breaks Joey's string of 5 straight wins at Most Popular Female Singer. This leaves Anita Mui's record intact.

Gary Cao & Justin Lo gets into a fight on streets, Justin pushed to the ground

Gary Cao (Cao Ge) and Justin Lo's "anger on the streets" has become the industry's hottest topics. Although the two are both good friends, like brothers but the other night they started fighting on the streets of Central. Gary punched, kicked and even wanted to break one of the street signs to beat Justin onto the ground.

After the incident, "anger on the streets" happened, Gary had especially came back from Beijing to hold a press conference for his apology. He blamed himself for doing something that is very wrong and something that he regrets. He has to apologize to his family, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Mainland citizens who have read the news. He is willing to take all responsibility and accepts consequences.

Yesterday at 4:45pm, Gary was dressed in a full black outfit and shades back in Hong Kong, he was surrounded by the Media causing a chaos at the scene. Gary did not respond to the questions Reporters asked, his record company expressed that he would save all comments for the press conference.

As for the victim who got beat to the ground, Justin spoke up yesterday. He admitted that he and Gary did the wrong thing on the streets during a radio interview. He embarrassed himself and pleads for forgiveness. Justin said that the incident was due to a misunderstanding, Gary initially was trying to help him. However, as to the reason why Gary ended up fighting with him, Justin did not explain why.

Investigating back into the video clip someone captured on a DV, surprisingly they found that before the incident happen Vivien Yeo appeared at the scene, and it is rumored that because of her the "anger on the streets" happened. Also someone who can get deeply into love Gary and Justin who has countless amount of rumors, two men and one girl, it is believed that only those two will know the truth to the cause of the fight.

Vivien Yeo accepted an interview yseteray and admitted that when the incident happen, she did meet up with Gary and Justin. She said: "That night I went to the bar at approximately 11pm. Gary and I are both from Malaysia and we met once during work. Usually when we meet up, we would chat because we are both from Malaysia, so we are better friends. That night Gary's manager called me, so I went to the bar to join them. (What did you guys talk about?) Nothing! When I got there they were still jamming together and having a good time. I was just chatting with my own friend. Gary said Hello to me."

VIDEO CLIP OF GARY-JUSTIN FIGHT (Source: On.TV)\

GARY CAO PRESS CONFERENCE - APOLOGY (Source: Mingpao)
Part 1 | Part 2

Responses from other Artistes (Source: Oriental Daily)
Myolie Wu, Kevin Cheng, Liu Jia Chang, Joey Yung, Leo Ku, Eason Chan, Elanne Kong, Chilam Cheung, Eric Tsang, William Chan

Myolie Wu: "It doesn't matter if they are public figures, they are still normal people. No matter what happens they shouldn't be fighting in a public area, don't do it next time!"

Liu Jia Chang: "The moods of young people are hard to say. I fought before too, but after the fight its fine."

Kevin Cheng: "Maybe they won't know each other if they don't fight. (They knew each other for a long time?) They are very close."

Joey Yung: "Don't go out late so much, don't drink so much. I personally really like Justin Lo. His personality is so real and calm. They are such good friends, maybe there is a misunderstanding. Alcohol probably messed up their heads, don't do that again!"

Elanne Kong: "At first I thought it was just filming, but then I saw the news, didn't know it was such a big incident. Gary and I collaborated before, I know Justin and him are good friends. They should be fine after the fight."

Chilam Cheung: "They were truly impulsive, it is definitely because they were drunk. Artistes are role models to younger people, that's why we should always be careful. Now I don't know what's going on, but I hope it does not happen again. The two are talented artistes, I hope they will use their talents in the future to overcome this negative news."

Eason Chan: "Wow! (Justin's hat didn't fall off after that fight?) Nope, he's so good. Did he glue it on.... they should not teach people about fightng. It is because they were impulsive, however glad that everything is ok and they aren't injured."

William Chan: "I heard about the news, I was quite surprised because I do know Justin and I think now is the time to calm down. He is an adult, he knows how to deal with this because I don't know about the incident, so I don't want to clarify anything. I just feel its fortuntate that he did not bleed."

Leo Ku: "I saw the news and the clip. Because I am good friends with Justin myself, so I couldn't smile. I am actually more worried if Justin was injured or not. I saw the clips, I think they were drunk and it's not because of them arguing. I will call him later to ask what happened. The Justin I know is very nice and positive. During celebrations I do see him drink a little, but he doesn't drink that much that he loses control."

Eric Tsang: "I know that they are really good friends and good brothers. (Fighting in public?) It damages the public materials, so remember play is play, don't damage the government property. (Gold Label said that Justin is the victim, they will consider on taking legal action?) I am not sure how to respond to this. Let's see what Gary has to say first."

Police investigates Gary-Justin case, a common assault case involving drinking
Friday September 25, 2009 Hong Kong
Source: Oriental Daily
Translated by: aZnangel @ http://asianuniverse.net/forums/

Gary Cao and Justin shocked the entire city by their drunken actions that caused a scene on the streets of Central. The police investigated the case and will handle it as a simple assault case. According to Gold Label, the police has already contacted Justin Lo for further investigation.

According to sources, the police contacted most of the eyewitnesses already and will soon make arrangements to have them describe the situation. After two days of investigation, the police felt that Gary and Justin were just engaged in a simple fight and it is nothing serious, therefore will probably just treat it as a simple assault case. However, because the two are public figures, the case may involve the public and after consideration, it has been decided that the case will be passed on to the Central Police District Crime Squad.

The police department's spokesperson expressed that the police is still investigating and no one has been arrested yet. Yesterday the Deputy Commander Mr. Law said that the fight too place in Central and Admiralty areas and will probably be contacting the relevant individuals involved. According to sources, the people who have been contacted is Gary, Justin, the taxi driver and the construction workers at the Cotton Tree Drive.

Justin's record company CEO Mr. Chan Fai Hung confirmed: "Today the Police contacted us to look for Justin for investigation. We will be sending a lawyer to represent Justin. Justin will definitely accommodate the police investigation as much as possible." As for the other main character, Gary Cao, he already left Hong Kong. His record company Rock Records spokesperson expressed that the police has not contacted them yet: "If the police requests that they want to investigate Gary, we will definitely accommodate that."

As the two were fighting in public, which causes damage to their reputation, Mr. Chan described Justin as "unexpected disaster", he felt that Justin this time was the victim and as Gary and Justin has a strong friendship, Gold Label voiced out that "we won't be taking legal action". Asked if that is to make it less difficult for Justin? Mr. Chan said: "We will discuss it when the time comes, if Justin says no, then we will respect his views."

After the incident, Gold Label talked to Justin about it, Mr. Chan said: "They are really good friends, we don't hope to control our artistes making friends, but we did advise him that if the friend is drunk, they may act abormally, lose control, he should definitely handle it carefully. Actually that day he knew that his friend drank a lot, but he wanted to take care of him, so therefore he was not drunk.

Mr. Chan strongly stressed that Gold Label does not have any control for Justin's actions, he said: "Was he wrong? Yes he was wrong because afterall he is an artist and created such incident on the streets in public. This time, they are both at fault and I hope that he learned a valuable lesson. He is an adult and should understand." It was rumored that Justin is neglected by his company, Mr. Chan expressed that he did not hear about this. He said: "There's always rumors about these things, Justin's jobs are still going to resume like normal, nothing has changed. His new album is currently scheduled to release at the end of this year." Tonight, Justin will be attending Andrew Lam's concert as guest performer and after that Gold Label has made arrangements for Justin to meet with the Media.

Justin Lo safely returns to work; Andrew Lam does Gary Cao skit
Saturday September 26, 2009 Hong Kong
Source: Oriental Daily
Translated yb: aZnangel @ http://asianuniverse.net/forums/

Yesterday it was the first time Justin Lo appeared to meet the public at his good friend Andrew Lam's concert as his guest performer after the Gary-Justin fight. He was on stage and clarified many times that he did not get injured, although Andrew did not care and kept criticizing Gary, Justin continued to defend him. [Note: Andrew Lam = Lam Man Chung]

Andrew said at his concert: "My hat is called 'Little Thief Ah Chung', nothing can pull it off my head no matter if its strong winds or rain. But this time its no matter how much I fight, it won't fall off. But let's don't talk about this, I don't want people to warn me!"

When Justin made his appearance, he was immediately boo-ed by the audience. He explained: "I didn't care about my head". Justin then updated everyone on the current situation: "I am fine, every part of me is fine. Thank you everyone for your concern, the most important thing is I have your support."

Andrew did a skit of "Gary Cao Comes Into Body" and played drunk. In the skit, he requested to switch hats with Justin, but Justin only laughed foolishly the whole time, but when Andrew said that Gary had no right to bully Justin, Justin immediately defended his good friend: "This is only his personal opinion!" He then sang "Good Person", there were supportive cheers heard below the stage. Justin then did a 90 degree bow to Thank everyone.

After the concert, Justin left backstage on his company's security vehicle, but soon there were more than a hundred reporters surrounding him, causing a chaos. During the chaos, one television cameraman got trapped between the car and the crowd. Justin saw that the crowd was getting out of hand, so he decided to get off the car to let the Media take pictures. But when the reporters mentioned "your magic hat got great response?", "have you considered hair weaving?", "Will you take legal action on Gary?".... Justin continued to smile at the camera and did not respond to any of the questions. When Justin left, the cameraman was not injured, but the captured video was affected.

The organizers made arrangements for Justin to rehearse for his performance at 5pm, but because they feared that the Media would cause a chaos, he was scheduled to rehearse at 8:30pm accompanied by a staff at Gold Label. He smiled silently.

Gold Label's CEO expressed: "Justin has not talked about the incident with the police yet. He of course does not have intentions in taking legal action towards Gary. Tomorrow, Gold Label and the lawyer will discuss about the case and see what advice the lawyer has."

Justin Lo reveals his new look, puts down 'bald spot' burden
Thursday October 15, 2009 Hong Kong
Source: Oriental Daily
Translated by: aZnangel @ http://asianuniverse.net/forums/

Justin Lo had always been the "man with hat" hiding the M character (bald spot), even when he got into a fight with Gary Cao earlier, the hat did not fall off. But according to sources, it was discovered that before the incident, Justin had already shaved his head and getting ready for the new look without a hat. Gold Label praises Justin's new image and will create a new special image for him, strongly supporting him for the "First Brother" position.

The Media have been on top of this news, last night at 8pm the bald Justin was finally spotted heading over to the recording studio, accompanied by his male assistant. When Justin saw reporters approaching, he was generous and did not try to avoid the cameras at all. It looks like Justin really has put down the M character burden, he looked relaxed and was not upset at all. Justin was asked if he's used to being bald, he rubbed his head a little and smiled: "It feels a little cool up here!" Afterwards he expressed that he has to go record his songs until 12am.

It was reported that Justin shaved his head after the incident with Gary, it is definitely not because he may have to take off his hat in court later or during the Miss Macau pageant, but instead for a new image development. Earlier when he attended an event, he had already shaved his head, but at the time he still had his hat on and no one noticed. Justin is quite satisfied with his new look and would not rule out the possibility that he may do a special for this new image, a new path, a new road. Gold Label also strongly supports him to become the 'First Brother", next year he will be opening a concert in Hong Kong Coliseum.
