Angela Zhang Releases Cartoon Image for Album

Taiwan pop star Angela Zhang attended a promotional event for her fifth album release in Taipei on Monday, introducing a new cartoon image to accompany her songs.

Hong Kong-based Tungstar reported that the singer will have a cartoon image going with her album each time, and that fifth generation Angela dolls come in pink and purple, with 12 postures.

Angela's new album, named "Ang 5.0" will be released on December 14.

I think Angela's new image for her album makes her look really feminine and womanly.
From what I read recently and understood, her new look has 5 different images based on the myth of the Goddess Athena, Greek Goddess of Wisdom [daughter of Zeus who is King of the Gods]. Album also has 5 different sounds etc. Athena is also portrayed as a female warrior with spear and shield. The 5 images are supposed to capture the 5 attributes of Athena. This is from mythology but it overlaps with what was in the article -Athena represents: wisdom, war, the arts, industry, justice and skill. Article says Ang's image moves from Princess to goddess. I think it's quite a creative concept.
There are parts of the article I don't understand fully which is why I didn't translate. The above is what I gathered.

On the 24 Nov, Angela appeared as the spokesperson for Panasonic. On stage, she played a ball game [she had to hit some squares on the wall – you can watch it on video]. Her aim was quite accurate [heheh –there was a news article that claimed she was afraid her top would drop when she played the game becos she had lost weight]. Although she appeared in a low cut dress, Angela did not think it was too sexy. She felt that sexiness could be portrayed through maturity and charm and it’s not just a matter of how much one reveals of her body.
Angela does not rule out dating a man younger than herself [she said this at a different event-Taiwan Singles Event organized by Yahoo.] but she is looking for a more mature man and she felt the age difference should not be more than 15 years. [in the video she said she was looking for an older man.] She felt mature men have a particular charm and make her feel more secure.
Filming one drama each year has made her feel tired. Angela expressed a need to rest for a while. Angela was very regretful that she had rejected the opportunity to appear in Stephen Chow’s new movie and said if a good script were to be offered her, she would be willing to try it.

I'm glad she will still act. Was worried she would give up after working with that demanding director in RP. I hope she doesn't do Hot Shot aka basketball fire. Like Tammy, I hope she rests and has time to go support Chun in his new drama .

I'm just going to summarise the article.
The article says she borrowed the car from Jay Chou and was very touched by his gesture.
Gosh he's so generous! . Car is a prop in the MV. On the day of filming, Jay called her to ask her how she liked the car. She said the car was just too cool! She didn't dare to drive it and just sat in it. She was afraid of scratching it and she said she knew men treated their cars like their second lives so she had to be extra careful .. plus the car costs mega bucks. Angela has said before she doesn't know how to drive
Article goes on to say how supportive Jay has been ... writing a song for her, lending her his car and the director of the MV is a personal friend of Jay's. Heheh reporter's trying to suggest some 'Ai mei' connection between Jay and Ang. Anyway, she was asked about her impression of Jay [again]. she said: jay is a very nice person, treats his friends well and is very talented. In the field of music composition, he stands out as one of the best!
Then a description of the MV. It's set in the future and it's a world of machines (I think). Roughly the setting will suggest evil forces in the surrounding darkness, there's a 3D computer effect, there will be a silver and white robot team (dancers?), a white living room and a romantic pink cafe. Storyline: Angela is a new model robot 'Ang 5.0' who falls in love with a male robot '3.0'. She dances and sings with the other robots and Angela even spontaneously invents her own dance which impressed everyone.
Article says that Angela will have different images and looks - not sure if it's just in this MV or in the other MVs. Says she enjoys changing her looks, that she is the 'Queen of change'.

After reading this article, I really am looking forward to watching the MVs BUT Where is Chun?

Oh, and it seems, her company has released the full version of 'I fell in love' - 'Wo lian ai le' i.e. the theme song of her new album. It's been released on the net. Think it's a publcity thing to generate more interest in her album. I downloaded it and the full song is great! It's supposed to be the new style rock that she wanted to try. I know very little about music [only what I like to hear] but I'm afraid it doesn't sound like extreme rock to me although I like the song ... it's very upbeat!!

EDIT: Just noticed your end comments, angelun. So... this is the extreme rock song? It's not really very extreme... although I guess it IS kind of different from Angela's usual style. Anyway, I love this song... hehehe, love it when it plays in Romantic Princess.

I had no idea that Jay and Angela were so friendly with each other. It's actually really cute to hear that Jay's being so generous... Awww, I really hope that Wu Zun DOES get to guest-star in at least ONE of Angela's MV's... but I guess that would give rise to too many rumors :\ But a girl can hope and cross her fingers all the same, hehe.

I think I prefer Bu Xiang Dong De than Wo Lian Ai Le although I also like it. Seems like they've already released the song. Just heard it on the radio and saw the mv on tv...but i didn't see the whole video. shucks! Now i'm looking for the mv on the net but i can't find anything. no one has posted it in youtube yet. so anyone knows where to find it?

And also, did they change the name of that song? I thought it was called "Neng Bu Neng Yong Gan Shuo Ai" cos on the ending credits of Gong Zhu Xiao Mei there were only 4 songs there. "wo de" , "neng bu neng yong gan shuo ai" , "le yuan" & "bu xiang dong de"

I think Chun pissed Jacky off when he said 'you look like my father!' and Jacky tried to get back at him by asking him to sing BUT Angela rescued him. Angela's singing voice is so good impromptu and sounds really high. She's got her RP hairstyle - must have come direct from filming. they both look really kawaii together!!

I like it she looks beautiful...kinda funny though, they have him all bundled up in a jacket and scarves...the whole works but Angela just goes around with a sleeveless top! hahaha. Great job with the mv though! Aside from Chun...I think the guy in her mv is very very cute and suits her mv very well.

Cannot be that cover. only zhou hui have cartoon for album cover, angela cover sure have her face inside.

Heheh... yeah, now that you mention it, she IS wearing very light clothing... when you consider that it's "snowing" in the MV.
But yeah, I also think that guy looks pretty familiar. Is he that one Taiwanese model who's really popular now? He's in a lot of people's MV's...
Anyway, he and Angela do look really good together, especially in those publicity shots posted by francesca.

I mean, I thought so, too... but I noticed that this was in the background of an earlier picture... in the post where angelun was talking about liking the album cover? Haha... so I was confused... because I'm pretty sure they haven't released the "official" album cover yet?

Briefly the article says Angela is the spokesperson for this charity drive organised by 创世基金会 [don't know this group] Yesterday, they lauched this event and Angela appeared together with 20 kids to draw pictures using melted chocolate on a huge paper christmas tree. This tree will be presented to the hospital. They intend to raise money for comatose patients through chocolate. Depending on the amount of money you donate, you will also receive chocolate items to eat. eg if you donate 999, you'll get a chocolate ferris wheel.

Was kinda disappointed of the mv....They should've chosen Chun as the guy or they could've shown some RP scenes at least Well, now I'm pinning my hopes in the "Neng Bu Neng Yong Gan Shuo Ai MV"

I felt exactly the same way. Even if Chun was busy, surely he could have spared some time! Rats! I have a feeling he won't appear in any of the MVs

I thought Angela looked really beautiful in the MV. it's her best look so far in short hair but I'm afraid I didn't like her costume. It's the white circular plates in front that I can't appreciate.

This is just a part of Angela's recent guesting in 100% ent. nobody has posted the whole video yet though Xiao Gui said when he was singing with Angela, his face would blush when he looked at her.
