i cried in THIS ONE! i swear i shed buckets!

the movie reminds me of the artistic style of sassy girl...

the movie uses symbols and hidden meanings...

it's not direct to the point yet very heartwarming!

Ha Ji Won wasn't THAT excellent here and she wasn't in her BEST element...but she's did an ok job...but her leading man did an ELECTRIFYING portrayal ~ ~

so good~

Well, in my opinion this film was not a good one. It was boring and the storyline sucked big time. I have seen better romantic-dramas.

Although that I found the surprise twist good but overall, the movie failed to touch me. I didn't cry at all and I thought that it was boring as well. I was probably not in a good state when I watched this.

Good point, I would have thought there'd be more posts on this movie. It's really quite a refreshing movie (and somewhat of a melodrama). My heart actually ached a little when the 'truth' was revealed.

i really loved this movie from the first view of watching it

but thn i decided to find more clues on the movie n decided to watch it again

after noticing the secret to this movie i got addicted to it

this also made me love Ha Ji Won because she was so pretti inside tht movie

i believe if u watch it again u will notice tht the director made every scene so short n it dosnt seem to last 1min, afta tht u might notice tht the director has used this 2 erase ur memory because the first tym i watched it i actually 4got all abt the main theme which is finding Daddy long legs.

This is 1 of the most recommended movie i wanted 2 tell pplz abt but im not korean so i decided i like to tell pplz in this forum tht this movie was very good

n if u watched it once, remember to fully understand every scene of the movie because the director used alot oof time to make every scene of the movie....

REMEMBER!!!!!!

I thought this was an excellent movie that really drew you in with this eerie feeling of suspense. The twist was good, even though it seemed kinda contrived, with some questions that are still left unanswered. Time seems to move quickly and you get a bit confused about the range of past memories and some side character's histories are briefly touched upon. But you do understand the general point and the heartbreaking tragedy when the girl finally finds out the truth. The ending was very bittersweet and a tad abrupt. But all in all, I thought this movie was great.

Daddy Long Legs (“Kidari Ajeossi”) is a uniquely sweet love story that has touched my heart, though there is also a certain extent of complexity in the plot.

On the surface, the storyline may seem simple, but some confusion did arise during the course of watching. But as the show progressed, the missing pieces began to fall into place on the empty slots of the jigsaw puzzle. Then a clearer picture started to materialize.

The following summary about the show is written based on my personal viewpoint.

The show commenced with a short animation that narrated the lonely childhood of a young lady, Yeong Mi (Ha Ji Won), with the loss of her parents, leaving her all alone to fend for herself.

Fortunately, she received the assistance of a kind stranger, whom she had never met before. This wonderful stranger was her benefactor, who supported her through her studies and saw to all her material needs. She was very grateful for the help that he had unconditionally given her. Many times, she had tried to locate him for the purpose of conveying her heartfelt thanks to him personally, but her efforts were in vain.

When it finally dawned on her that he wished to remain anonymous, she ceased her search for him. Instead, she decided to show her gratitude in the only way she could and that was, to give off her very best in everything she did. At the same time, she also wrote many unsent letters to him, detailing her everyday life, achievements, as well as her innermost thoughts. In a special way, her faceless benefactor was her confidant too.

In her heart, she still held the hope that she would be able to meet him one day. As she did not know his real identity, she affectionately nicknamed him, her “Daddy Long Legs”.

With the completion of her studies, she landed her dream job as a program writer in a radio station. On top of this, she was also given a nice house to stay in for free. She could not believe her good fortune. This was more than what she imagined she could have. Deep down, she was more grateful than ever to her “Daddy Long Legs”.

Soon after, she chanced upon an email in the computer at the house. The author of the email was also the owner of the house. As curiosity got the better of her, she decided to read the email, despite the fact that it was impolite to do so.

The email unfolded a poignant story of unrequited love…

The owner was secretly in love with a guy since her school days. In order to be near him, she pushed herself to work doubly hard in her studies to obtain a place in the same course at the institution he was studying in. The entry requirements were strict, but with determination and hard work, she achieved her goal.

Being in the same institution with him filled her with eager anticipation. Each day was a hopeful day because of him. She looked forward to see him in school everyday. Even if it was a fleeting glimpse of him or a mere view of his retreating back, she was contented just to see him. But still, she carried a secret hope that he would come to notice her somehow.

Yet, to her disappointment, throughout the entire school term, he had never once taken notice of her.

Later on, he got a job at a radio station and naturally, she followed him there. There were numerous times she wanted to walk up to him, but couldn’t quite bolster her courage to do so. How she wished he could at least give her a glance! He was so near, yet so far from her.

Unfortunately, destiny was not kind to her. She was diagnosed with a terminal disease, which would cause her to lose her memory gradually, followed by her life eventually. She was devastated by the news, but it was not because of her eventual passing. It was the memories she feared losing.

Her illness would remove all her memories like an eraser in her head. She did not want her memories of him to disappear into nothingness. She wanted to hold on to these memories and lock them in her heart forever.

Therefore, in order to retain him in her memory, she decided to write this email. Even when the memories of him began to fade, the email would enable her to remember who he was. In this way, the memories would always stay with her. He was the only love of her life…

The story brought tears to Yeong Mi’s eyes. Her heart felt so sad for the owner. Love is beautiful when it is mutual, but unrequited love is a painful ordeal.

Subsequently, she made up her mind. She decided to air the contents of the email via the radio program and locate the man, whom the owner was in love with. Regardless of whether he would reciprocate her feelings of love, Yeong Mi felt that he must at least be aware of the fact that a woman had been secretly in love with him for a very long time. From the email, she also came to know this man was from the same radio station she was working in.

Back to Yeong Mi…She found herself increasingly drawn to a quiet, well-mannered and sweet boy-next-door guy, Kim Jun Ho (Yeon Jeong Hun), who worked as a librarian in the radio station. Happily, they shared many wonderful moments together and enjoyed each other’s company very much. Yeong Mi was on cloud nine. She had never felt this way before. Before realizing it, she was falling fast for Jun Ho.

Then one day, an unexpected incident led her to the shocking realization that Jun Ho could very well be the man in the email. There were strong indications that pointed out that he was the one.

Yeong Mi was distressed by this realization. Despite her feelings for Jun Ho, she could not bring herself to continue her relationship with him. The owner had been in love with him for years. She could not be so selfish as to ignore this knowledge. Thus, against her own will, she began to avoid Jun Ho.

Poor Jun Ho! He could not understand Yeong Mi’s sudden change in attitude towards him, but there was nothing he could do about it. She refused to see or talk to him at all. This broke his heart.

While Yeong Mi was still depressed over Jun Ho, she discovered an important piece of information. She came to know her employment at the radio station and her present accommodation had been pre-arranged by someone. Without a doubt, she knew this must be the work of her “Daddy Long Legs”.

After much probing for further details, some light was shed on the identity of her “Daddy Long Legs”. All these years, she had been hoping to meet him. Was her wish going to come true soon?

The details linked her to the director of the radio station. Without hesitation, she rushed to his office as fast as her legs could carry her. Her heart was beating erratically against her chest. She was going to meet her “Daddy Long Legs” for the very first time.

When they stood facing each other, she asked him if he was her benefactor, who had rendered his unconditional help to her throughout the years.

To her disappointment, his answer was No.

He was just fulfilling the wishes of his younger brother, Jun Ho. Jun Ho was the one who had been helping her all the while. He was the one who supported her through her studies, got her the job at the radio station and gave her his house to live in. In order to be near her, he also took up the position of the librarian in the radio station. Jun Ho was her “Daddy Long Legs”.

She was also hit with the devastating news that Jun Ho’s health was deteriorating and his memory was failing. It would be a matter of time when he would lose all his memories and ultimately, his life.

Finally, everything fell into place. She had always thought the owner of the house was a woman, but this was not so. Jun Ho was the owner. He wrote the email.

The characters in the email were Jun ho and her. Jun Ho had been in love with her since his school days, but did not have the courage to express his feelings for her. On the other hand, she had never noticed him then.

Jun Ho’s love for her touched her deeply. She loved him more than ever. She was also filled with thankfulness for all that he had done for her.

Eventually, he could no longer hold on. The illness took his life away. Yeong Mi was very sad and missed him dearly, but she did not lose hope in life. She embraced life and lived it to the fullest, excelling in her career, as well as everything she did.

She believed Jun Ho would want her to have a fulfilling life. She knew he would be watching her every step of the way, no matter where he was…

The romance between Jun Ho and Yeong Mi reminded me of first love. Falling in love for the first time, holding hands for the first time, kissing for the first time, receiving flowers for the first time…it’s so sweet.

How I wished Jun Ho did not have to go like this. His deep love for Yeong Mi was so touching. He was such a loving and sensitive guy.

I began watching this show with little expectations, but at the end of it, I was left with a beautiful impression.

I also liked the movie , however i was a little dissapointed with the ending. Why did they have to choose for such a sad ending. I got confused watching the movie in the beginning, but later on everything became clearer to me. Also i actually thought the director was daddy long legs. It's surprising when you can't predict the storyline.

Hello!!!
Phew i foun the link for this movie hehe i just finished watching it and...to tell you guys the truth i was a bit disappointed... i don't know if it's because i've watched the orignal anime version of Daddy Long Legs and i've also read the book, and now watching the movie, i don't think they're related in any way....i mean...the only thing that they relate to each other is, Ho Ji Wan writes letters to him but that's it, the whole having a crush for 10 years and losing his memory and eventually dying is totally different from the original plot sigh!!!
But...if i forget about the original story and stuff, overall the movie was good and Ho Ji Wan was really pretty without a lot of make up hehe!
Hmmm...overally i'll give it a 6.5 outta 10 hehe!
See ya!
