Hong Kong singer and actress Gigi Leung and Sammi Cheung embarked on a charity trip to Laos on Tuesday, on a mission to draw attention to the nation's malnourished children through a 30-hour outdoor experience.

The Hong Kong-based publication Tungstar reports that the pair will live a primitive life during the campaign, camping in the fields and eating wild game for food.

"I have brought everything that may help me, including a pillow and a nightgown," Leung said nervously of the potential survival challenges.

As part of the 30-Hour Famine campaign launched by the international organization World Vision aimed at fighting hunger, the trip is expected to draw more celebrities eager to use their star power to enact change.

Leung and Cheung are two of the project's three ambassadors in Hong Kong.

Gigi has FINALLY signed with a new company (tied with management). Press Conference was yesterday on the day of her birthday.

She has signed with 美亞娛樂 (Mei Ah Entertainment's) 天下明星 (management). Mei Ah is of course known for their movie production. The contract is 2-3 years for a supposedly 8 figure sum. Being mainly a movie company, Gigi will be the first artist to join their new music company. So she is like essentially "paving" the way for the new music company. Gigi said it was unknown whether the music company will also distribute her albums. (ie when she was with Warner, they only distributed her albums). Her first work under the new contract is filming a new movie first, and then she will work on the new album. When reporters asked if she was essentially giving up on her music career and going more towards movies, she said she loves singing and will not.

Hacken rushed back from the States to attend and surprise Gigi's signing press conference. Alan Tam, Kelly, Denise, Fiona, Charlene, Stephanie Sun, Louis Koo all filmed videos to congratulate Gigi on the new signing.

Hong Kong singer-actress Gigi Leung opened a new career chapter on her 32nd birthday on Tuesday by signing with a new agent company.

Hong Kong Big Artiste Management Limited threw a lavish birthday party to welcome the star on board.

Leung says she hopes her new agent can sign her up for more film projects than before, and maybe even land her a directing job.

Her first film under Big Artiste will be a romance comedy directed by Joe Ma, to begin filming in May.

Movie King Seeks Help From God of Songs; Leslie Cheung Memorial Concert Starts Tonight

Tomorrow will be the five year death anniversary of Leslie Cheung. Leslie’s group of good friends will be supporting the memorial event. They will sing some classic Leslie songs as a tribute to his memory. There will be “God of Songs” Jacky Cheung, “Movie King” Tony Leung, Karen Mok, Joyce Cheng, Grasshopper, Deanie Ip, Anita Yuen, Chilam Cheung, Priscilla Chan, Anthony Wong and others.

Out of the entire group of guest performer, Tony announced his fear to sing in public. He admitted that is willing to sacrifice a lot of cells to sing “風繼續吹”. The Grasshopper is painstaking preparing a list of classic Leslie fast songs. They will be bringing back Leslie’s classic dance moves on stage. Jacky will sing “追”, “春夏秋冬” and other songs. He sighed that a lot of good friends have passed away these few years. He feels lonely and starting to avoid seeing people.

“Miss you Much Leslie 繼續寵愛音樂會” will feature a group of stars to remember a legendary idol – Leslie. Florence Chan expressed that another concert date was added because of the overwhelming response. There are some problems with Tony and Anita’s schedule so they will only perform on April 1st. Anthony Wong will perform at tonight’s concert only. Florence is especially thankful of Tony and said: “He said that he feels a lot of pressure when he sings and he is nervous. But I heard Tony sing three years ago at a Leslie memorial concert. Tony sang “當年情” and it was very touching. I tried very hard to invite him and am grateful because he is putting pressure on himself.”

There will be three stages and a bridge. Deanie Ip will kick off the concert and she will sing “明星” and “最愛” at the two concerts. After she finishes singing, the bridge will break. It will symbolize the separation of people. Florence said: “The performances will be about the same for both nights. Footage directed by different directors will be shown on the stage. A 7 x 7 feet red kite will be placed in the Hong Kong Coliseum. This way the fans can write down their messages to Leslie. It would be burnt as an offering to Leslie.” Yesterday afternoon, several singers made their way to the Hong Kong Coliseum to rehearse. Florence, Grasshopper, Joyce and Karen went to the blessing ceremony around 3:30 PM.

Yesterday afternoon at 4:50 PM, Tony rushed into the Hong Kong Coliseum to rehearse. He stayed for one hour before he left. Tony said: “It is more nerve wrecking then filming a movie. But it is a meaningful memorial to a friend so it is worth it.” Tony joked that each time he sang he will lose a lot of cells. He doesn’t sing karaoke often and the last time he sang was three years ago. He said: “A couple of days ago, I was in Shanghai for a function and I practiced singing when I had time off. I felt my singing was bad but I will try my best to convey my feeling.” He chose to sing “風繼續吹” because it’s a good song to listen and it would be easy for him. Tony said: “It’s a chance to remember Leslie. We are good friends and I remember how we spent our days in Argentina filming a movie. I also remember the gatherings and parties we had with a group of friends. Leslie loves a lively and cheerful atmosphere. I prefer to be quiet.” Would you ask your girlfriend Carina Lau to sing a duet with you? Tony said: “I don’t do the inviting. Carina doesn’t often sing. Remus Choi will do a solo rendition of “為妳鍾情”. All three of them said that Leslie was the perfect person. They will order new clothes to be made and hope that Leslie’s fans will enjoy it.

GiGi Leung will sing “柔情蜜意” and “我願意” which are love songs. She admitted that she doesn’t feel pressured. Leslie was charismatic and had a unique style on stage. People get a special feeling when he was on stage performing. People should learn from his attitude and not feel pressured. GiGi said: “Near the end of the concert, people will feel sad. I will use a positive attitude to commemorate this irreplaceable and legendary singer.”

Isabella Leung has launched an attack at EEG; What other Artistes say?

Isabella Leung has officially announced an complaint accusing the company for asking her to sign an unfair and harsh contract while she was under age. Also stated how she was forced to do some things outside her contract that were extremely unreasonable. Earlier this month, Emperor Entertainment Group (EEG) had officially filed a lawsuit against Isabella Leung. Ordering to terminate all her work related to the entertainment circle until her contract with EEG expires.

Isabella spoke for the first time yesterday officially announcing a complaint and attacking EEG. She complained of the law suit and her contract details. The details including EEG claiming 40-50% commission from her earnings. Also how her management had forced her to do some unreasonable things outside her work contract. She claimed that she felt she was being used and this had caused her to lose trust in her management company.

Artists being asked about the Case

Niki Chow : Stated that she has never done anything outside her contract. She claimed that if you feel something is unreasonable you can instantly say “No”.Before she signed her contract papers she had her lawyer beside her. She fully understands the terms and conditions of the agreement.

Gigi Leung: “Have not received or done any work outside of my contract. When I first got into the industry I did not have a lawyer with me while signing the papers. But I was very fortunate as my first record company “Fuk Lung” had always been supportive and never asked me to do anything outside my work contract. However I didn’t mind going to social events with colleagues”.

Paul Wong: “Everyone who says they are under some forced pressure has a different opinion about the situation they are in. “ When Paul first got in the industry he didn’t want to apply any make up but was forced to. He didn’t want to change into 7 different outfit’s for a photo shoot but would still go ahead as he no choice.

Fiona Sit: Fiona does not want to comment on Isabella’s case. But she has never had to do anything unrelated or outside of her work contract. Her Record company has not interfered with her dating. As long as it did not affect her work. However, she is very comfortable with her management as her Uncle manages her work.

Kenny Kwan: “The incident is being dealt with by the company. Isabella has not discussed this matter with me personally therefore I have no reason to comment. (Do you agree with Isabella about the company earning too much commission? ) “That question is different for every individual. I think it’s fair as I originally had nothing. EEG had invested a lot of money on me. “ (Would you say Isabella is a traitor?) Kenny states he hopes things will be resolved soon. Asked whether he has to do things outside his contract? “The company job arrangements are fair and reasonable. I have not had to do anything outside my work contract or anything unrelated”.

Ken Hung: Hopes that this incident will end soon and that everyone can continue with their normal lives. As a friend he will wish her the best but will not make any comments. “If I have a problem I will try to resolve the matters calmly by discussing over it. “ Ken proclaims he thinks the contract is fair because the Company had invested a lot on him and made him a star. Also while signing the contracts it was written in black and white and everything was fully clear.

Sherman Chung: She stated that before she signed the papers of her contract a company colleague explained the terms and conditions of the agreement very clearly. Her lawyer had also seen the contract and considered it to be very fair and reasonable. She also hopes this incident will be over soon and be peacefully resolved.

Gigi Leung's Highest Record was looking after 13 Dogs

Gigi Leung, Jessica Hester Hsuan, Tracey Yip, Jacky jai and Alex Fong Chung Sun attended the movie "A Tale of Mari and 3 Puppies" charity show premeire. (This is a Japanese movie about the touching story between a family and a mother dog.) Gigi Leung who voice over's for one of the characters expressed that she felt very emotional because her 14 year old dog suddenly passed away. She also said that her highest record was looking after 13 dogs at her home. Later on she gave 10 puppies to her friends. One of the puppie's was actually abandoned 3 times, but finally got a good home.

Tracey and Jessica both took tissues to the movie incase they got emotionally teary. Tracey claimed that a few years ago she saw a stray dog near her home but because she didn't have any space she couldn't give him a home. However, she would go to see it when she had time and take it to the vet for vaccinations.
Jessica joked that Alex Fong Chung Sun would definitely cry more than her because whenever he see's an animal he gets very teary.

Gigi Leung and Berlin Chen in new movie ; Love tangled between Sister-in-law and Uncle

Yesterday, director Joe Ma's (馬偉豪) new film " I Can love" ( 愛得起 ) was at an primary school in Hung Hom for the opening ceremony. Those who attended were Gigi Leung, Berlin Chen, Shaun Tam, Louis Fan and HotCha.
The director wanted each one of them to bring a private item from home during filming so that they have the feeling of " home from home". Gigi brought with her a bath robe and a huge pillow. Berlin brought a mug and a toothbrush.

This is Gigi's 4th time working with director Joe Ma. In the film, she and new comer Bing Shao will play husband and wife. She will have an affair with Berlin Chen, the uncle. The two have intimate love scenes in the film. There were rumours that Gigi and Berlin were seen out partying together. This was denied by Gigi. She explained that she was attending a friend's birthday party. She put her present down and left that night. The report was out of character.
