I'm new here too and saw him for the first time last week in "A Dirty Carnival" during the International Film Festival of Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

Besides being good looking he's also a great actor. He played he's character so believable. I can't wait to see more of him. Which movies/tv-series of him would you recommend me and where can I get them (with English subs of course). At the moment I live in London.

Off-topic: where can I get those avatars with Asian actors on them. I'm interested in all Asian movies especially from Hong Kong, Japan and Korea.

Top Movie Star Cho In-sung Dropped From University

Actor Cho In-sung

Top actor Cho In-sung has been expelled from Dongguk University as he failed to meet the school's attendance requirements.

The university said that the 26-year-old actor was asked not to return to the Department of Theater, which has strict regulations controlling student behavior, as he skipped many classes last semester.

Cho originally went to Chunnam Techno College in South Cholla Province and later entered Dongguk University in 2003 to further his study of performing arts.

However, after moving to the university, Cho didn't have much time to attend classes from 2005 as he started acting in the film, "A Dirty Carnival," which was released last year.

Sidus HQ, Cho's management agency, said that he tried to balance both his acting career and studies, but failed to do so because of his tight schedule.

The agency said that he is considering resuming his studies through seeking reentrance, while continuing his work.

After his setback at the school, Cho will likely have his military service. He deferred his duty while attending the school, but now has no excuse to delay serving the duty since his expulsion from the school.

His agency said that Cho will fulfill his military duty although he has not been called up yet.

Cho's popularity began with the drama "Piano" in which he played a minor role under SBS, co-starring Ko Soo, which was aired in 2001.

In 2004, he enjoyed the peak of his popularity with a TV drama again, titled "What happened in Bali," playing opposite actress Ha Ji-won.

He starred in major films such as "Madeleine" (2002), "Love of South and North" ( 2003), "The Classic" ( 2002) and "A Dirty Carnival." ( 2006)

Hi donghae4ever - it was reported that he will have a new drama this year but no news about this yet. He mentioned in one of his interviews that he's single & very much available right now.

He caught my attention in the movie Madeline, and i sort of falled for him after watching the movie The Classic. Was a bit disappointed he have so little screentime in the movie. Nevertheless, after watching the Classic, my interest in him grew.

I think hes a good actor, very expressive. Also i found him to be adorable, because he can changes his expression, and so in one minute, he go from looking geeky, to cute, to cool, to passionate.

I really hope he will have a new tv series soon. I cant wait to see more of him. Oh, i saw Dirty Carnival, he was really good in it. I thinks it pretty cool, that he does taekwondo, so he was able to perform all his action scenes so realistically in the movie.

anyway..you wanna know what it says huh? okay..well from my limited Chinese it says.....


......that Insung has accepted a film about a triangular romantic (GU ZHONG!) relationship between 2 guys and a girl and it's also about homosexuality (interesting huh?) and gu zhong means it's set in the olden times..you know where they wear traditional gowns and stuff? yea and it's by the same director as Dirty Carnival...
oh and also they're going to finish writing (?) the script in september and filming will start in march next year...

sorry my simplified Chinese knowledge is very limited >< if you want to check it out join the Chinese forum! or learn korean =P oh yep and insung also said that he took this film because he wanted to challenge the traditional romantic dramas (you know how the plots are always the same lol)

i observe that most of u people here are girls who adore jo in sung badly. well, im a guy and jo in sung is my idol when it cums to his fashion statements. i appreciate how experimental he is when it cums to clothes.. i've seen almost all of his pictures here and hell he really looked great wearing different clothing styles! i'm a buiness administration student and darn i wear business suits like those he used to wear on some of his pictures..

as a matter of fact, a few of my girl colleagues (who know jo in sung as much as u girls do) once noticed me wearing business attire like he does.. well, im an honest person and i told them that i did wanna look like him on purpose that time. hehehe.. but of course, i don't really look like him. all i'm wanting to have on him is his style.

Popular actor Jo In-Sung and actress Im Soo-Jung have been chosen as the nation's top actors.

The pair was chosen as Korea's representative actor and actress at the "Star Summit Asia." The summit, a side event of the Busan International Film Festival and Asian Film Market, gathers Asia's biggest stars together to introduce their talents and network with production companies casting for their next film.

Jo and Im were invited to attend "Curtain Call," which introduces the actors featured in films at the Busan Film Festival or the Asian Film Market. Korean-American actor John Cho, Chinese actress Yu Nan, Japan's Tatsuya Fujiwara and Thailand's Ananda Everingham also attended the event that took place on the 18th.
