Since most of the taiwan series are from japanese shoujo manga, I hope they could make this series as well.
It's a very popular shoujo manga entitled "FUSHIGI YUUGI" by Yuu Watase.

This is the story of a girl who made her dreams come true after she came to possess the seven stars of Suzaku and many powers were bestowed upon her. This story itself is a spell, the one who reads it thru will be given the powers and granted a wish just like the girl in the story because the story begins and becomes real the moment the first page is turned.

Yuuki Miaka and Hongo Yui are best friends leading normal 15 year old lives... that is until that fateful trip to the library. While studying at the libaray, the two friends discover a mysterious Chinese text named "Universe of the Four Gods." They find that as the book is read, the story will come true, and the two are soon dragged into the world inside the book!



They land on the outskirts of Konan, a country in the midst of war with its neighbor to the east, Kutou. Soon they are rescued from some scruffy bandits by a striking young mercenary, who abandons them after discovering they have no money to pay him. Suddenly, Yui is thrown back to the real world, leaving Miaka alone in the strange country, penniless and friendless.

However, Miaka manages to find her way to the capital of Konan, while Yui reads the book and follows her friend's journey. She meets Tamahome, the mercenary who helped her earlier, and captures the attention of the Emperor. Eventually, Miaka is revealed to be the "miko," or priestess, of Konan's guardian deity, Suzaku. Confused by turmoil of war and the sudden dependence of an entire country, Miaka has no choice but to accept her new position. She is charged with finding her "Shiciseishi," or seven protectors, and calling upon Suzaku to help Konan win the war. These Seishi are seven legendary men who are destined to guard the miko with their lives. Each is represented by a constellation, possesses a special power, and bears the mark of a Chinese character on their bodies. Gradually, Miaka finds them, one by one, learning about her adopted country, testing her endurance to its limits, and discovering a deep and special love.

However, Yui inadvertantly summons Miaka back into the real world, and unexpectedly, Yui is absorbed back into the book! Unfortunately, Yui's entrance to the world of the book begins with a tragic incident which scars and changes her. She is saved by Nakago, a mysterious man who turns out to be the general of the Kutou armies. When Miaka returns to the book's world and finally reunites with Yui, she finds that her best friend has become the miko of Kutou Country's deity, Seiryuu. They are now on opposing sides!

Both sides race to find their missing Seishi and call upon their god, amidst a storm of jealousy and misunderstandings. Soon, Miaka gathers all her Seishi and begins the summoning ceremony, but a shocking discovery causes it to fail. Miaka's only chance now is to collect the Shinzaho of Genbu and Byakko, the guardian gods of Hokkan and Sairo countries. Again, the Suzaku and Seiryuu battle to be the first to find the magical items in order to call their gods. However, through devious means, the Seiryuu manage to capture both Shinzaho and call upon their god. However, things are not as simple as they seem; Miaka's brother, Keisuke, and his best friend, Tetsuya, are frantically researching the book's history and discover its dangerous secret and the fate of the miko.

Once Yui calls upon her dragon god, Seiryuu, chaos ensues as the world inside the book and the real world collide! Miaka and her Seishi desperately fight a losing battle against the true enemy. Ultimately, it is the power of an unconditional friendship and an unexpected sacrifice that will change the fate of both worlds.

[ Miaka ]
Compassionate, unselfish, and a little ditzy, 15-year-old Miaka becomes Suzaku no Miko after stumbling upon the Book of the Four Gods. She has a close relationship with Yui, but her world is changed after meeting Tamahome, one of her Seishi (warriors).


[ Yui ]
Intelligent and mature, Yui is Miaka's best friend and follows her into the Book of Four Gods, becoming Seiryuu no Miko. Although she appears strong and confident outwardly, she really depends on her loved ones, so a conceived betrayal sparks destructive emotions of jealousy and hate.


[ Tamahome ]
Sou Kishuku. The first of the Suzaku Seishi to meet Miaka, Tamahome initally seems concerned only with money and ways to get more of it. However, his later actions bely his protective and responsible nature, and prove that he does care for his Maiden (means Miaka ) - as a Seishi (warriors), and more.


[ Hotohori ]
Saihitei Seishuku. The teenage Emperor of Konan Country, Hotohori also possesses deep feelings for Miaka. Although he is rather vain, he is well-loved throughout his country and greatly respected. He has revered Suzaku no Miko since childhood, looking to her to cure his loneliness.


[ Nuriko ]
Chou Ryuuen. Another Seishi that is remarkably effeminate, Nuriko first meets Miaka in the Emperor's court as a lady-in-waiting. Despite his fragile appearance, he is extraordinary strong and cheerful. He also holds an unrequited love - for Hotohori.
( P.S : " HE " is a guy!!!! but dresses like girls everytime! )


[ Chichiri ]
Ri Houjun. A mysterious wandering monk, Chichiri is rarely seen without his smiling mask. He is quite skilled with magic and is the oldest Seishi, but is still given to bouts of silliness.


[ Tasuki ]
Once the leader of a group of mountain bandits, Tasuki is the most hot-headed Seishi, with his quick temper and foul mouth. Although he often claims he "hates" women, he still is quite protective of Miaka, burning enemies to a crisp with his special fire attack.


[ Mitsukake ]
Myo Juan. A gentle giant, the reclusive Mitsukake has special healing abilities that were rumored to even resurrect the dead - rumors that brought Miaka and her Seishi to him. However, before he can dedicate himself to Suzaku, he must first heal his scarred past.


[ chiriko ]
A 13-year-old genius, Chiriko is the last of the Seishi to be found. He has a great love for his country, and actually studied to become an official before being a Seishi. He is often seen with Mitsukake.

I'm currently watching Tian Wai Fei Xian now, and found that Hu Ge and Ariel do have good chemistry, actually i think Ariel fits Miaka's role cuz they are sooo cute!! And they do have the same personalities - loves to eat!!! ! LoL!!! How about Tamahome??? My vote sure goes to Hu Ge!!!! wahhh~ HOT!!!!

lol. i think that ariel is too old to play miyaka...miyaka is only 15! hahaha...but ive watched fushigi yuugi and i think that its really great! hmm...i think that qiaoqiao from sweety or xiaojie from 7F would fit the role of miyaka, and as for tamahome, hu ge might just fit the role!

OMG..I love your ideas!! lol...I'd actually love Ariel to play Miaka, she seem so fited the role although Miaka is supposed to be really young but then the age can be adjust and Ariel got the young look and the cuteness. Hu Ge as Tamahome, would be good!! hehe..Fushigi Yuugi was the reason I started watching anime 6 years ago. Can't resist all the seishi. So shuai!! What about the other characters like Hotohori and Nakago? Who do you think will be suited for them? How about Joe Cheng as Hotohori? But then I won't be able to choose between Hu Ge and him. I can't think of anyone off the head to play the evil cool Nakago though.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! FUSHIGI YUUGI!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE that manga to death--the first manga that started it all for me! ^^ But I don't know---it's kind of hard to make though... I mean---it would just be toooooo wierd! >< hehe, but it might be a good series though---but honestly, there are MORE manga out there--such as "Nowadays". Anyone heard of this one before?? ^^

I really love that manga too! It would be great if they make a drama out of it! But I don't think Ariel will suit the character of Miaka...maybe Rainie is better? Because she kinda suits the character little more...as for Tomohome, I don't think Hu Ge will suit either, I actually prefer Tae as Tomohome. It would be such a treat for me to see Rainie and Tae together in a drama!

I really love the manga too. I agree with Ariel being Miaka but as for Hu Ge, I think he's more suited to play the emperor, Hotohori.

I don't think Rainie will be good in this role, no offense but her acting is just okay.

Well, her acting is improving, and I wouldn't say that Ariel is better either...both have their own talents of course...I just feel Rainie suits the character Miaka more.

I really love the manga too. I agree with Ariel being Miaka but as for Hu Ge, I think he's more suited to play the emperor, Hotohori.

omg...i was just thinking the same. hu ge looks more like hotohori.
tamahome...i think ethan ruan kinda looks like him (the height, his eyes, and the smile).
nuriko...joe cheng would look wonderful dressed up as a girl (like his image in "the rose").
tasuki...mike he if perfect.
chichiri...tae has that cuteness and seriousness at the same time...so he could pull it off.
mitsukake the doctor...hmmm...maybe...sam wang since he is a more mature character.
as for our handsome bad guy nakago...i think eddie yan just might fit the role.
miaka...although i'm a fan of ariel...i don't think she'll fit...hmmm...maybe...liu yi fei?

i think age-wise, rainie would suit the character miaka more than ariel...actually, i think rainie is the best choice, because many of the younger actresses are un-suitable...as much as i love qiao qiao (who is only 17), but i really can't picture her as miaka! so i would choose rainie for miaka, and even though she is turning 22 this year, but she certainly looks very young for her age, she looks more like she's only 17!

as for tamahome, i agree that tae suits the character more than hu ge...i think hu ge kinda suits hotohori

it talks more about ancient china, so i think it's better to think of mainland's actors/actress... juz like Chinese Paladin & Tian Wai Fei Xian....

i think for miaka's world ( in reality )... taiwanese stars are suitable... like for Miaka's brother - Keisuke and the others... but in the book's world... still prefer mainland actors/actress...
hope it's goin to be same as Chinese Paladin & Tian Wai Fei Xian!!!

hmm...i don't know, i think it would be hard to make a series on it b/c it has a lot of fighting scenes and magical stuff and they usually screw up on these parts when they try to make it...it would look too fake...besides even though i loved this manga in the beginning, i thought the end was kinda annoying and dragged so i don't know if i would like it...i prefer Fruits Basket, has anyone read the manga or watched this anime? is sooo good and cute! but i think it would also be complicated to make it into real acting...and about the actors, i don't like seeing Ariel acting w/ other guys just b/c i'm soo obssessed w/ ISWAK! i wish Ariel n Joe Cheng could always be a couple in all the series, they are just so cute together!!!!

I do love the manga but not all adaptions will work out. I think Fushigi Yuugi should stay a manga and anime and not be made into a Taiwanese series. Fushigi Yuugi is a pretty long manga to make into a series.

yes, i've watched the manga before... very nice.... i remember i posted in one of the forums that time when i watched the mg1.... wanted jerry and barbie to be the lead hahhaha... i think hu ge and crystal liu (from xian jian) fits the bill now
the manga had many eps.... wonder if made into drama.... how many scenes they have to cut... plus creating all the special effects... challenging.... but i would love to see it if it was made into a drama.... for a change how abt md in a period costume...

OMG! me three..! i'm actually watching fushigi yuugi on animax right now and the first thing that came to my mind that person suitable to play Miaka's role is Ariel... however based on character i might go for Mike He as Tamahome... well Tamahome is kinda like Ah Meng in DBY.... well it's just my opinion though... And for Hotohori i think i'd go for Joe Cheng since Hotori is a beautiful guy and could pass for a girl and Joe Cheng played a character like that in "The Rose" and it's kina like the looks of Kuai and the character of Zhi Zhu... i mean as i see Hotohori's character... And Tae is best as Chichiri... again that's only my opinion though... nweiz, it's still a great story though! whoever plays who's character would be fine i guess... But hope it'll be Ariel for Miaka!

I totally supported your ideas except maybe not on Peter as Hotohori. Although I really like Peter and I think he's handsome, he's definitely not 'pretty' enough for the role..The pictures you posted on Hu Ge does resemble Tamahome as well as Hotohori. But I think he fits for Tamahome. I'm still sticking to the idea that Joe Cheng will be a very good Hotohori...haha..he'll be so lovely!!

Yup, I think that was the saddest scene in FY. I never cry watching animes but I actually shed some tears when Nuriko died and then it got quite sad when the other died too.
