i remember him best in an ATV series called I Have a Date With Spring with Sheren Teng and i've admired his acting since then. he's truly one of tvb's greatest actors...too bad he doesn't get the credit he deserves.
while i thought roger did a great job in square pegs to deserve the best male actor award, i also thought kwong wah deserved an award for king of yesterday and tomorrow. it was kwong wah, not maggie cheung, that made the show great. |

![]() [Ta Kung Pao] Kwong Wa and his wife Kitman Mak were at an opening ceremony for a market earlier and attracted many local residents. At the ceremony, the skies were scattering a gentle shower, but when the opening took place there was no rain as Kwong Wa exclaimed: "Wherever I appear, the weather will improve." When Kwong Wa was asked whether he accompanied his wife to the market, Kitman replied on his behalf: "In the past he would go with me, but he is too busy working now. So I will go and do shopping for his supper." Kwong Wa is currently filming for new series "Proud Heroes of Chu and Han" and in May, the cast and crew will be heading up to Wuxi for location filming. When asked if he is worried about bird flu, he says he is not afraid, because around six months ago, he and his wife have become vegetarians. Also, talking of the TVB cutbacks, Kwong Wa says that he has not heard of it and not paid any attention, because he is just concentrating on his own work. He says: "The company has its own plans, as long as you have the ability, then you will be given work, so there is nothing to fear." creds-tvbspacenews.blogspot |

Kong Wah is a great actor. I saw some of his series and like him. He usually acted a cold guy (but warm inside). Anyway, no matter people like him or not, I still like him and willing to watch his series.

![]() [Ta Kung Pao 07/09/04] Kwong Wa and his wife Kitman Mak made a rare appearance together for the premier of "Alien vs Predator" on Sunday. Kwong Wa explains that he is a big fan of the "Alien" series, so when he found out that this film was made by the original crew, then he had to come and watch it with his wife. When asked why he did not bring his son along, he says that it is too late and his children usually go to sleep at half past ten, because he feels that it is not good for children to go to sleep too late. Talking of recent plans, he indicates that he has just ended his contract with TVB and not renewed because he wants to take some time out to rest as well as change the format of his work. He laughs that there are a lot of things he can do in the future, such as looking after his children because there is very little personal time when he is filming and now he can take this time to look at other things. When reminded he could only do this with enough financial backing, Kwong Wa indicated that both he and his wife are vegetarians and not big spenders with a simple life, so their expenses are not very large. With recent magazine reports showing the couple buying bargain products, are they unhappy about this? Kwong Wa says that in fact he is very happy about this. He adds that if people talk about you, then you should not worry about whether it is a good thing or a bad thing because it shows they care about you. If they didn't then they would not bother talking about you. Also, showbiz magazines are there to bring entertainment for all, so if everything that was said is taken to heart then it would be difficult to live. As for whether he does often go bargain hunting, he says that he likes to pick up the odd bargain because he is just an ordinary person and does not have a lot of money. He feels that Hong Kong people nowadays like to measure a person's success by material means too much. http://www.takungpao.com/news/2004-9-7/UL-302778.htm Credits to Em - http://www.tvbspacenews.blogspot.com/ |

![]() [Ta Kung Pao 14/11/04] "The Conqueror's Story Hundred People Swordplay Event" was held at Olympian City yesterday and a group of cast members including Kwong Wa, Melissa Ng, Cerina De Graca, Eileen Yeow and Sherming Yiu took part and showed off some swordplay skills led by Master Li Hui. Among all the stars, Kwong Wa seemed to be the most popular with many fans there to support him and holding up banners that read "Chu King Kwong Wa No. 1" and "Kwong Wa and Kitman Together Forever". Kwong Wa's wife Kitman Mak was together with him throughout yesterday's event and when they headed towards the audience, a male middle aged fan said to them: "Success through one series!" In response to the fans expressing good wishes for his marriage, Kwong Wa says that his fans like him, so of course they wish for him to be with his wife forever. When asked if this puts any pressure on his marriage, he says it will not and he will not be afraid as long as he is following the right path. Talking of the show only receiving average ratings of just 28 points, Kwong Wa says that this is already not bad because it is all about the time and place and he has done his best, so that is enought. He says: "A show may be good, but may not bring in the figures, this has happened before in the past." Recently there have been reports that alleging that Kwong Wa has been asking for astronomical fees, wanting $1.2 million for just one advert and two still photographs and frightening off the advertising sponsors. Kwong Wa did not seem bothered by this and asked the reporters in return whether $1.2 million was expensive. He says: "I don't know, but don't say that I am overestimating myself. Everyone does things based on sincerity and there are different views on things. I do not talk about money, I talk about the job." When asked if he will not budge on a price, he says definitely not and laughs that he is the most flexible when it comes to prices and he feels that if he takes a lower fee, then he should not be accused of 'bringing down the market'. Does he feel that he is worth $1.2 million? Kwong Wa says: "Of course! If it is for charity, then I can do it for free, but because it is commercial, then demanding a fee is very reasonable." Sherming and Melissa also took part in the swordplay demonstration yesterday, but Sherming was described by the MC as being rather clumsy, whereas Melissa was praised by Master Li, who posed with her for a photograph. Afterwards, Sherming was asked why her performance was so poor. She says that she has just returned to Hong Kong from Singapore, where she was demonstrating waterskiing for a show and this left her with aches and pains, that affected her performance. Sherming says that apart from filming in Singapore, she also visited many places and tried a lot of lovely food, leaving her very little time to sleep. When asked if she had any romantic encounters, she laughed she did not as the men over there are not her cup of tea. She says: "Acutally the girls in Singapore are more open and sexy and will openly approach men in the streets for a chat and then invite them for a drink." However, Sherming feels that the girls there are not too pretty, but the men in her party became targets for their flirting, causing them all great amusement. Also, she has been to Malaysia and she laughs that this work is not bad because she can also travel at the same time. http://www.takungpao.com/news/2004-11-14/UL-329524.htm http://www.takungpao.com/news/2004-11-14/UL-329523.htm Credits to Em - http://www.tvbspacenews.blogspot.com/ |

Yeah.. Kong Wah is a very, very good actor! I like his humour in the series King of Yesterday and Tomorrow and Riches and Stiches. And I like him very much in The conqueror's story. He's not very handsome, but when he smiles he looks great.
I like his "cat walk" too, he's the perfect person to act a cool, (sometimes cruel) man with a good heart. For example Riches and Stiches, The conqueror's story, A step into the past. It's such a pity he doesn't act anymore. Is there any good homepage of him?? |

There is just a small problem... I can't read chinese! But I've seen a few pic, cause I just click around... There are many pics, where he just looks gorgeous!!! Especially when he's wearing a cap. I've just finished watching Riches and Stiiches. I love every scene with him. In my opinion he was the main character, he took Moses show away. He's great, I think I Kwong Wa has a new fan |

I think Kong Wa is a good actor...he did a good job in King of Yesterday and Tomorrow, which left quite an impression on me.
I watched the first few episodes of Riches And Stitches recently, I found that he overacted this role a little, the way he walked. |

KW is my favorite actor. Anyway, I prefer his roles in ATV series though. His acting skill reaches the highest level in "a cruel lover" and "secrect battle of the majesty". Somehow, I don't like any of his role in TVB. I don't think comedy series suit him at all. And well, he played king, king and king. It's so boring.
Talking about his cat walk. I think he did that since his very early series. I realized his style of walk at the end of "return to the truth" when he left his cripple brother. Also, he walked this way quite often in Who is the winner III as well. I don't know, he might thing it's cool. Somehow I like it as well. |

I love him in those ANCIENT series, acting as the king. Legend of Lady Yang, Happy Ever After, King of Yesterday and Tomorrow... he's fit to become a KING.. the way he walks, and his body size and the way he speaks.. he has the style of being a king.
though, he can be funny in some series as well. There was a series he acted as a sissy guy (gay man) haha I've forgotten the title of the story, but he's so funny in that series. I can't rmember the show, I need to recall back!! |
