Lately, this forum has been having a lot of topics that shouldn't belong in here. This forum, once again, is a place where you b!tch about celebrities, movies, series, etc. This is NOT a place where you talk about loving those mentioned above. You can do that in the Entertainment forums in their dedicated topics. You can however ALWAYS DEFEND your idol in a critics thread with good reasoning (so no swearing and yelling at the other haters).

If I, or another moderator, find a thread by you that is not relavent to this particular forum, it will be sent to the trash, without any warning. If you continue to post the same topic(s) in this same forum, you will be warned first, then if it continues, you will start to receive warning points.

Please do not SPAM in this forum. Our moderators work very hard to clean out spam. We don't need anyone to add to that mess. If you aren't sure what spam is, look at up at dictionary.com. or ask someone with knowledge.

You can b*tch at an artists, but NOT at eachother.

Also, NO threads similar to the following...
(Artist Name): Hot or Not?
- This topic should not be created at all. Discuss this issue in their individual thread.

(Artist Name) VS. (Artist Name)
-You should add a poll to this and post it in the poll room.

Does that mean we'll get in trouble if we say anything positive in a thread or reply?

No, it doesn't, but remember, you're in this forum for a purpose: bashing not admiring.

As I thought this section of the forum is where we R allowed to diss another star ... I wonder why people that in fact adore this particulary star R allowed to come and help "admiring" that star ... I mean if what thoses members R doing is OK .. then what the purpose of this section ? .. but I also reckon that it may gets "boring ??" if we got no one to argue with .. also thi is a discussion forum so it purpose is probably to allowed peoples to share what they have inside ... but I donT see two persons arguing to be in the middle of the bed to be called much of a constructif discussion ... ( this is one sentence I hear often whenever there's no point of arguing ... ) So basically I wonder if there's "cleaning" for wrong tread-wrong section, is there also "cleaning" for wrong msg in wrong tread ?? I hope U all may understand what I mean ... blush U know sometimes when U really feel mad toward a star ( and then U know there s special place waiting for u to relese Ur anger and see "admiring posts" U just leave the forum way angrier ... wink.gif

I think my post should be ( maybe ??!! ) more in the AF help center if it is the case ... I'll move it then no prob. biggrin.gif

On that, Sorry to bothers. Thanx for reading !!

You are right with that, and that was the main purpose of this subforum too. Critics doesn't always means bashing or hating. You can also have positive critics too.
But that rule was too subtle for the early adaptors of this forum to comprehend and double posts started to occur. In the entertainment forums where there are dedicated topics to celebs, and also here.

That's why this GUIDELINE was introduced. No admiring topics (because most fans would go to the dedicated topic to adore their celeb anyway) but you can ALWAYS DEFEND your own star with good reasoning.

The often heard phrase "this is a thread for hating, so lovers stay out" does not need to be complied. If you are a fan of an celeb that is being criticized here, feel free to defend, but no swearing or personal attacks only good reasoning.

I will make that clear in the previous post

Here's my question:

My last post on a thread [a post which was deleted] was a defense. Never did I in my posts openly adored the celebrity being criticized, and never did I curse another member out or yell at them.

So could someone tell me specifically what went wrong?

You can find your post here:
http://asianfanatics.net/forum/index.php?a...sult_type=posts

If you are talking about the Barbie thread, yes I did cleaned that thread a bit. As I posted there that some are going too far and also mentioned the rules of critics.

Edited from one of your post:

Well, excuse me for saying so, but you don't seem like a very smart and polite person, although I suppose you ARE rather simple...

For me, this is attacking other poster(s), whatever the other one is posting. All of this will be deleted. You may defend your idol, but not attacking other posters at this way

And x1babyette, your posts:

Nothing wrong with the trashed posts from you.

I have a small suggestion for improving this section of the forum and avoiding so many off-topic discussions. This part of the forum was created for a reason--to let people freely express their opinions on why they may dislike/hate/or find faults/criticisms with a particular actress/actor/group/etc WITHOUT feeling restrained by fans boggling down on them. So maybe fans could take that into mind next time they come here. If they're going to be upset, maybe it's just a better idea not to come here at all. There's a great section elsewhere where there's way less or almost no bashing of their idols.

I think debates are great, and if people can defend their idols with valid points, that's fine. However, most of the time, it just leads to a lot of personal attacks and fighting. So hopefully people can choose the topics of what they defend and the extent to which they defend. For example, I've noticed in a lot of threads that many comments, even "rude" ones were posted about certain actresses, but defenders chose to only make one general comment about their views after LOTS of posts have been made, and then just left. That's what I would good sportsmanship--they got their view across, and they're not going to attack people for their views. They can accept the fact that not everyone likes their idol as much as they do. In other forums, you see people defending every single point made about a person, even opinions. This kind of restricts the atmosphere and causes people who may have wanted to say something in the first place now feel intimidated at what they were going to say in fear of offending people who may be more eloquent with words.

So in general, hopefully that makes sense and we can all discuss everything peacefully. Have a nice day.

Argh, my post didn't get through.

I don't think bashing/insult should equal to constructive criticism. I think this section needs some revision. We're not allowed to make personal attacks on other forum members, but it's okay for celebrities?

Reading things like this: http://english.chosun.com/w21data/html/new...0701220006.html
is very upsetting.

Please read the other sticky for a true list of what you should and should not reply in the Critic's Hangout. Starizblue also gave a detailed first post about the nature of the Critic's Hangout.

This thread is concerning topicstarts (ie: the first post of the thread).

When you are posting a first post in a thread... PLEASE try to be as diplomatic and justified as possible. A lot of the controversy that arises comes from posters who will post a simple general and fairly insulting topic start... and then 'let the battle begin.' Please try to EXPLAIN your opinion instead of just posting a simple, "I hate him," or "I like her." If you have a neutral opinion and are just wondering what other users think about him/her... State that as well. "I am neutral, but I was wondering what you think...?"

A good general topicstart: I know a lot of people out there are fans of *idol,* but I don't really like her. I think she is *quality, quality, and quality*. This is just my opinion, so no need to get offended. I was wondering if anyone else felt this way?

An example of a good topicstart: *the idol's name in question will be Phi Sigma*
I don't really like Phi Sigma. I don't think she's as pretty as everyone says she is and she definitely can't act! She always scrunches up her face really weird and when she 'tries' to have some facial emotion... she only has two options: she pouts or she raises her eyebrows. That's it! Her singing is also really horrible. She can't hit high notes and her comfort range is about five notes -- not even a full octave! -- and her voice is weak and shaky. Yes, I have heard her sing live... and she is horrible!

A bad topic start:
I hate Phi Sigma. She's a total b*tch who can't sing for sh*t. I HATE HER SHE SHOULD GO DIE.

This will hopefully help keep our conversation and topics in here neutral and more objective.

WHEN YOU POST: remember ALSO to try and justify your explanations as well and LEAVE THE FLAMING ALONE.
