Raymond Lam- a good singer or not?, Your thoughts? Options

Do you think Raymond Lam is a good singer?

At first, I think Ray has a great and strong voice, but as I listen to more and more of his themesongs/songs, I find that I can't listen to any more than 2-3 times and definitely not on repeat.

Do you think it's just the songs that are dull, or that it's Raymond's voice making the songs dull?

I don't understand why Raymond doesn't have an album too & there isnt any company that he signed for but Ron just signed with some company

i want raymond to produce an album too~! he sings sooooo much better then the "so-called" singers these days. but i think he wants to concentrate on whats the most important right now, which is acting. i totally support him.

cyberice, you should really listen to him sing live [esp. the manderin song he sang at the s'pore concert^^], then you'll know how good of a singer he is

He did signed w/ a record company I think is Cinepoly or some kind of Paco Wong's music company before but his contract expired

it should be interesting to see him sing, but he is doing alot of series although. It can be hard to perform in both thing at the same time and to be good at it also.

i think raymond sings good..he should be signed..even ron was signed by a company i think. ray should have an album of his own..i say that he has a good voice.

Raymond is a good singer, especially those theme songs...
He should be signed, I too don't understand why he doens't have an album yet...

Maybe he just doesn't get enough attention to become a singer?

And yea, he did have a contract before, but never released a CD and now it expired....there was this whole rumor that said TVB didn't want him to release a CD 'cause if it does bad, it's hard to promote him again or something like that...

not that they dont want to, he had signed up before but never have time to produce an album..so it expired. He said he wanted to concentrate on acting.

Hey think about it Ron Ng cant even sing and still signed up for an album. Ray sings light years better...just he doesnt want to at the moment. He said so in one of his many interives

as long as he don't sing live and the computer can edit for his awful singing skills..in record...

and the most important part is that ..
ron ng can sign up company due to his hard core die hard fans..

dont think so rons still in TVb and right now its the promoting season for him and ray prolly dont got an album because he wants to be more sucessful in acting first and then be a singer

I think they should produce a record album for Ray, his singing is not bad at all. He sings alot of theme songs already in alot of tvb's series.

Although I'm anxiously waiting for him to release an album but I'm truly happy and impressed with how he's progressing with his career now even if singing is not his top priority.

raymond lam's voice is kay... but he isnt the best... but i wont mind it if he has an album of his own.

probably he is still young and doesnt ahve too much experience in singing?!..and its pretty rare that actors/actresses can be a singer too at the same time.

he sings pretty good.
but i prefer his acting, used to watched his series, hehehe......

It's kinda like a hype lately to sign up actors as a singer. Bust the popularity of him as one of the reason too i guess. He's acting sure is bettter in each serie

raymond voice is pretty decent to listen to, i also don't know why he dosen't have an album. He not bad looking, great figure.

in order to have an album, a record company needs to be willing to sign him. OR maybe he's just not interested in taking singing full time like all this other colleagues who THINK that they can act and sing. although ray's singing and acting is pretty good.

I don't think twins can sing, but they have tons of albums. Every time I hear them sing it sounds like they're having an asthma attack. If twins can be a hit for so long, why can't raymond have an album?

he has feature as a various artist on several albums,
eg. All About Men

where he sings the theme songs
i love the song to Eternal Happiness and The Last Breakthrough

I think Raymond's trying to focus more on his acting career than his singing career. =X no matter what, I'll support him! ^^

His performance on the themesong of the last breakthrough shows the incredible range he is capable of. I like the lyrics of that song as well, so in my book, raymond is a talented singer who doesnt get his fair share of chances....unlike bowie who really sounds like he's got a sore throat singing all the time. he should be awarded less singing opportunties....his sub theme in always-ready....shiver

Ray's voice isn't unique as Ron but he has technique. He is gud at high note ( TLB themesong is an example). 1 years ago he had trouble wit low note ( example: Realize), but now everything alrite ( heard FTF theme). So I think he is improved.

I like his voice, totally melt when hear TLB theme. But great is too strong. He needs to practice more.

I think Raymond is a great singer!! I can listen to his songs over and over and over again and not get bored. He's definately A LOT better than a lot of the current HK singers we have out. His voice is strong and has great range.

He should really release a CD and sing more themesongs.

I don't get why people like Bowie and Ron are given so many chances to sing themesongs and release CDs. Like someone said, Bowie sounds like he has a sore throat all the time, and as for Ron, he's monotoned!! He sounds like a monotone version of Bowie IMO.

I think Raymond can sing well. he has a really deep, soothing voice.
at first, when i listened to him sing, i was like bleah, the song sounds kinda boring. but as i gradually listened, the songs he sang grew on me. =D

I think Raymond's one of the better singers that TVB has to offer.. I like listening to his songs and I find that he has quite a lot of talent. My favourite song from him has to be the themesong from TLB... that was a beautiful song and Ray pulled it off really well. also, he has quite a range of songs too - from the themesong of Vagabond Vigilante to Realize to the themesong of Twins of Brothers. he can sing well live too - I loved his performance of We Will Rock You and the rock song he sang at the All About Men concert. hopefully he gets the chance to release an album soon and showcase his talents =)

I like a lot of his songs.
I think he is a pretty good singer actually.
But I agree with the above post, he shouldn't sign with EEG.
EEG just sucks a$$.
It wouldn't do him any good.
I am looking forward to him releasing an album.
I think he has a powerful voice which is suitable for singing.
But I do find that Ron's voice is more unique than his.
It's just that Ron doesn't know how to use it as much as Raymond.
Raymond really has some skills for singing.

Lol. If Raymond was to release an album, I highly doubt that it'll be EEG, but signing under EEG will probably make his popularity rise. EEG seems to be really good at promoting their stars.

I really like Raymond's voice. He's one of the best singers in TVB. I got a bit mad at how RON NG managed to release an album (he seriously can't sing) while Ramond is still left alone in his little spot in TVB. Depressing, yes.

I always like Raymond Lam's songs, and I can listen to them over and over again. His voice is so good and soothing to hear, and his singing skill is also pretty good (there still some rooms for improvement). Like some people mentioned above, his live performances are also great. He has the potential to be a great singer one day, I'm looking forward for it.
