I think she looks cute, but I imagined Cho Chang to be more of the "beautiful" type. Waht do you think?

I agree that the character is supposed to be beautiful...maybe oval (?) shaped face and really nice skin. That's what I had in my head when I was reading the books.

I think her father is from HK but she was born in Scotland.

I was slightly disappointed with the casting too. I was looking for someone with more delicate features since Cho Chang is suppose to be quite beautiful.

But then again there hasn't been any really good pictures of Katie Leung, so on screen she might look quite different. Also the people casting the role said that Katie had the personality that they were looking for.

She's not what I expected Cho to look like, maybe because in that pic she not pretty enough (unlike in the book, she's suppose to be very beautiful). I dunno maybe when they give her a makeup, she'll look better.

yeah i know, in the books, i imagined cho chang to be some exotic beautiful chick that will make anyone who sees her falls for her---someone like boa or kristin kruek--yeah someone definitely like kristen kruek!---katie leung--though rich as she may be, doesn't seem fit to play cho chang, she doesn't have that instant spark that makes you fall for her--cho chang is not supposed to be average and ordinary---she's supposed to be someone with outstanding and uncompetible beauty---disappoints are already set for the release of harry potter the fourth movie which is going to be released on my birthday! nov.18!!!! lol i love the fact that hp comes out in november!!! lol like lord of the rings coming out in dec. only...lol

I dont think Cho Chang was suppose to be really really pretty. She's suppose to be your typical chinese girl. I think katiez british isnt she? She has to be, because Rowling demanded an all british cast for the movies. So it would be kind of disappointing if she wasn't british, that actually means any one of us could have gone for the part.

Aww I feel bad for her because of all the hating she's getting. But yea she isn't exactly my ideal Cho Chang either. I was really anxious to find out who Cho Chang was going to be because I expected her to be stunningly drop dead gorgeous... After all she did catch the eye of the famous Harry Potter and is the girlfriend of the "hottest" guy at school, Cedric Diggory. Yup yup, totally not within my expectations at all =/
In my mind, Cho Chang's supposed to be sweet, pretty and younger looking girl...
Katie Leung seems okay, but I can't find the wow-wee vibe coming from her because she's supposed to give you that feel...

But I reckon things will be different in the movie since there will be effects, make ups and everything just to make you look good
Perhaps these pictures arent the best out there of her and she might look totally different in it...we'll have to see once the movie's out

I don't think she's 'stunning' either, but we shouldn't be on hard for her, after all, the main thing is that she should be able to act. Although she doesn't really fulfil my expectations of Cho Chang, who am I to complain?!

I know a lot of people want BoA and stuff but can they act? Can they speak english fluently? Yes, looks are crucial but not to the extent that acting is not a factor to the development of a character. Plus, I'd rather an unknown too because then when we watch her on screen we'd identify her as Cho Chang and be like 'Oh, it's Cho Chang', rather than watching BoA and then be 'Oh, wow, BoA'! You know what I mean?

And yeh, you can always change her looks by lighting and make-up but there's one thing you can't change, and that is Acting. Btw, just curious, what are the hate sites? Never knew there were ones, that's kinda sad. The people who spend their time to create hate sites are pathetic. They're probably just jealous, lol

Gosh yeah I wanted to be Cho Chang too! Haha Actually I just wanted to get to know Daniel Radcliff and she gets to kiss him too! A far fetched dream... I know. But first of all I don't live in Europe and second of all, I don't have a British accent. According to people I know, they said I have a southern American accent, can you imagine Cho Chang with that? Haha Anyway but I do feel really sorry for her for all the criticism she has to take so I shall stop saying any thing that might be taken badly about her.

Also here! Reading the books, J.K. Rowling kind of described her to be some breathtaking beauty, but in the movie she looks so ordinary so plan. I think that was a bad choice casting Katie Leung as Cho Chang---i was disappointed. I am also disappointed at the choices the movie cast to play cedric (he was supopsed to be really handsome as the book described him to be), sirius, the new dumbledore and many other minor characters. It seems like the movie is destroying the books than doing it justice!

And NOTE TO GUEST: I dont think many of us are hating katie leung because she gets to kiss the guy who plays harry potter. For one thing, i thought that hailey joel osmont should of played harry potter considering he looks more like the original harry potter in the covers of the books. I feel like when it comes to filmmaking, J.K. Rowling knows crap---discriminating everyone else who wants to try out for roles in the movies because they weren't born or raise with an english accent is just plain dumb. Though the movies are big disappoints i cant say i dont enjoy the books or the movies.

she was not trying to discriminate from all other people who dont live in europe, its because the film is made in britain and it would have cost a lot more money for somebody in america to be flown there and then flown back home. & i think its a good idea for everybody in the cast be pick from ordinary people because i cant think of many famous people that would fits that one character perfectly. but of course whoever the judges pick is not gonna please everybody so people are just gonna have to accept it and move on.

And guess, I'm far from jealous. If i were to be jealous of girls who get a kissing scene with my fav. male stars, heck i'll hate all the actresses. Come up with a better excuse.

there are so many better looking asian girls. they could've picked someone way cuter. most of my friends are better looking than her. but who knows, maybe she's a great actress. we'll see :]

not wanting to sound cheesy here but honestly,i have made plans to go to London and try Cho's part,i have been a BIG FAN since then..and for some reason i can really see myself in Cho's character,not meaning to be conceited but i know i can handle her character well,too bad they only want British ladies,sigh
ohwell,its all good,i just hope she can act like the real Cho,despite her looks..she's okay but Cho had this sex appeal that i cant really see in her.
