Yeah, the male cast is so cool, Raymond and Sammul, wow. As for the girls, I think Shirley is okay, I mean her acting skills has improved. As for you guys said about Tavia, Leila and Nancy, wow, that would be a cast, I really like those threes actresses.

Yay!!! A wuxia serial. A novel by Wen Rui An again huh. Well TVB does much better with his works then Huang Yi's anyways. The previous Face to Fate (based on Shen Shuang Li Bu Yi by Wen Rui An also) proved to be a success, that TVB is still capable of producing good wuxia serials. I still don't understand why they won't air it though. Really looking forward to this one. I hope its going to be a long one though, since Si Da Ming Bu has so many volumes and novels. I couldn't get enough of Face to Fate, it was too short. Cross my fingers that TVB won't come butcher the plot and characters so badly like they do with Huang Yi's novels.

From Wen Rui An's interview, it seems that he has faith in TVB to not deviate too much from his original novel. TVB actually waited for Wen Rui An to finish writing the 'Young Wu Qing' novel before filming the series. This shows TVB's commitment at being faithful to the novels. Wen Rui An has work in the tv industry before, so, he understands that some changes in inevitable. But he was not very happy with the 4 Constables adaptations he has seen, because he thinks the changes made is too over the top.

I haven't read 'Jing Yan Yi Qiang' which is the novel 'Strike At Heart' was based on. But according to sehseh's review, the scripwriter has been pretty faithful to the original work, with reasonable deviations.

If they are gonna get two mainland female actresses, hopefully Liu Yi Fei/Zhang Ting will b chosen. Ady An's not bad too but she's taiwanese.

hrm but there are series that filmed entirely in mainland China without mainland actors.

for example LWOLAP filmed in Beijing, China but its completely TVB

I heard Tavia will be busy filming another series. Pity =( Good thing Linda won't be in this since she's in Jewel Splendor unless Virginia Lok finds some way to make it possible; that would be horrible >< If it can't be FungYi, i'm hoping for Raymond&Sharon. This would be a new pair and Sharon was good in Devil's Disciple. Beside, she and Raymond are really good friends in real life(she was 2nd on his christmas list of 5 people from tvb) & Nancy or Leila for Ron ^^ If they're having mainland actresses, I'm hoping for Ady An to be pair with Raymond (even though she's Taiwanese) but the chance is problaly very very very low xD

Unfortunately it is a remake Demon. Well, not exactly but I'll explain. This serie is based on a novel. The author who wrote the novel is Wen Rui An. He also wrote novels like Jing Yan Yi Qiang (TVB - Strike At Heart 2005) and Shen Shuang Li Bu Yi (TVB - Face to Fate 2006). The Four Constables is one of Wen Rui An's longest running novels, it consists of over 30+ different books. However, this adaption is based on the early days of the Four Constables, the author himself did not even finish writing the endings for one of the novels yet like reiyi mentioned. However, there have been adaptions in the past of The Four Constables, there were two in the 80's by ATV. Michelle Yim Mai Shuet, Lai Hon Chi, Ng Wai Kok starred in them. China, produced 3 adaptions based on The Four Constables. One starring Cha In Pyo (Korean actor), Wallace Chung, Rebecca Wang, Shui Ling. Another starring Peter Ho, Echo Shen, Nie Yuan, Eric Huang. Then another adaption starring Fan Bing Bing, Nicky Wu, Ren Quan, Zhang Tie Ling. However, none of the adaptions are actually that close to the novel. They take ideas from his novels and produce their own story kind of, which is a pity since he wrote a series of so many different novels why wouldn't they just pick a few and stick to them.

When i first saw this thread...it was still a rumor...but im sooo glad its confirmed...love all the guys. hMM the big question that remains is who will be the female lead..or rather...who will be part of the female cast....soo many potential actresses lets see:

Linda Chung: I doubt shed be in this series...but i think shed make a great pairing with any of the leads. Shes currently filming/finished filming Jewels Splendor. Shes gna start filming for Golden Destiny w/ steven...dunno when but they just had their costume fitting..so im assuming shortly. lol and is slated to do FH 2 in sept? sooo shes not very likely to be in this series...

Bernice Liu: shes currently doing Harmony Passion...they might be done in time for July...

Leila Tong: She should be done with Evil Kin soon...

Tavia Yeung: I dont think shes in any upcoming series...so shes available =)...

Kate Tsui: shes currently filming Evil Kin, they'll probably be done soon..shes a likely candidate.

Shirley Yeung: Is she already confirmed for this series....i dont think shes gna do any upcoming series...so its very likely shes casted in this series...

Nikki Chow: Dont know what shes doing

Fala Chan: shes gna film Golden Destiny w/ Linda soon...

Sharon Chan: Id really like to see her in this series...she was great in DD..so itd be nice to see her in here...shes currently filming Steel LIps Silver Teeth....she could be free to film this series...

It seems to me that the actresses who might be available during this time frame are: Bernice, Leila, Kate, Shirley, Sharon, and Selena annnnd Tavia...hopefully she doesnt have any upcoming projects.

Out of all the potential actresses...im really hoping that tavia and leila is casted for sure...id also love to see sharon...shirleys a nice choice as well!! Gosh..cant wait till actresses are casted!!! I really hope that tvb actresses are paired w/ the male leads...not mainland actresses...

I think it's because Bosco will be busy filming the sequal of 'War of the In-Laws'. Blame Liza Wang. She insisted on Bosco being in the series. But it's a good thing for Bosco that a veteran think for favourably of him.

TVB has made a quite fateful adaptation of Wen Rui An's novel 'Jing Yan Yi Qiang' (made into 'Strike At Heart'). It satisfied WRA enough for him to have confidence in TVB making a reasonably faithful adaptation fo the 4 Constables. So, this series is looking good.

Btw, Joe Ma's character in 'Strike At Heart' is the sifu of the 4 Constables.
