![]() [Ta Kung Pao & Oriental Daily] Cast members for TVB's Chinese New Year series "Vigilante in the Mask" including Deric Wan, Tavia Yeung, Mandy Chiang and Eileen Yeow were handing out lucky envelopes in a busy Tsimshatsui yesterday to promote the show. With the new year fast approaching, Deric's wish for the new year is for everyone to be happy when they see him. He says that he has only returned from abroad a few days ago and will be heading out to Taiwan for work again today, however he plans to rush back to Hong Kong again before the new year. Due to his work, he rarely has a meal with his family, so he hopes to spend some time with them over the new year holiday. His family feel that they rarely see him as they have to depend on long distance calls to keep in touch, but this money cannot be saved. When asked how much he used to keep in touch with girlfriend Sonija Kwok and whether he pays for it, he says that the costs are limited because they usually do not have much time to talk and keep in touch by SMS. He and his girlfriend have been dating for a while now, will this be a good time to propose? Deric says that as she has just started out on her career, they will be putting work first for now. When asked if his grandma had rushed him to get married, he replied: "Not at all, we are working hard first, it will be at least two or three years before we get married, but if she [Sonija] gives the nod, I am always on standby." As for Tavia, she was asked if she has been out with rumoured boyfriend Timmy Hung. She responded openly saying: "I have been in touch with Timmy, we are good friends. I went out earlier for a meal with Carlo Ng and Timmy. (Did you ask Timmy about his new romance?) I wanted to, but our nosiness is kept subtle and if he wanted to talk about it, I would listen, but I didn't want to pry as we all have our own secrets." Credits-Em |

News In order to raise her relationship luck with the audience, Tavia Yeung visited the flower markets this year and bought some peach blossom, but she spent the three day new year break sleeping, so she did not collect many lucky packets. She laughs: "I lost out this year! I didn't even go and pick up a big red packet from my friend's parents!" As well as receiving lucky packets, she has also been handing them out for the first time this year and she hopes to be able to continue giving them out every year because this indicates she has made money. At the moment, Tavia is filming for "Water Margin Infernal Affairs" and she will be working together with her sister Griselda. She smiles: "We have already worked together in 'Vigilante Force' and I feel that having sisters working together is quite fresh as the best thing is she can help me rehearse my lines! (Will you be teaching your big sis to act?) I will, because she is less experienced." As for her show "Vigilante in the Mask" averaging only 23 points and peaking at 28 last week, is Tavia disappointed? She smiles: "At the new year, many people have gone away, so this is to be expected. The company just hopes that the show can make the viewers happy." Sammul Chan also feels that the exodus of people over the holiday period means that this is an acceptable ratings result and he hopes that it will pick up later on. When asked if the ratings would be affected by the relative inexperience of the lead females Tavia and Mandy Chiang, he praises Mandy for her hard work and comedic skills.

Shine, Tavia, Shine!
http://www.geocities.com/tavern_wor...ews/040204a.jpg Shine, Tavia, shine! After 6 years since she has begun her acting career, it's time for her to shine over the others. http://www.geocities.com/tavern_wor...ews/040204b.jpg Recalling her first role as a nun, Tavia said she has a long story to tell. It was never easy at the beginning. http://www.geocities.com/tavern_wor...ews/040204c.jpg Will the new-coming of Griselda gives Tavia any pressures? "No. There is no competition between my sister and me." she said. http://www.geocities.com/tavern_wor...ews/040204d.jpg Tavia is often known as a more quiet and less controversial artist compared to the others. "I don't care about those rumors and publicity stunts," she said, "I'd rather stay silent on those unreliable issues." Shine, Tavia, Shine! It was a typical studying-with-the-prince* story. Person A wanted to break into the show business but was too shy to tryout for an audition. So person B agreed to keep his/her company and the two went to the audition together. As the story went, person A got kicked out from the first round and person B made it to an acing academy and eventually became an artist, even though it wasn't her intention at the very first place. And in last year, she even won herself a Most Improved Actress Award at the TVB 36th Anniversary. This is the story of Tavia Yeung, also known as the lucky "person B" in the studying-with-the-prince story. As the 6th year of her career arrives, it's time for her to shine over the others! First role: A Nun We have heard a lot of tough and bitter stories from many Acting Academy graduates. Like tens and hundreds of them, Tavia, an Academy graduate in 1998, has also gone through a long experiencing period of acting. Waiting for assignments and instructions from dawn to dusk, it was an experience that no new artists could escape. "I won't call my first five years as tough. The toughest thing that I can ever recall is when you are required to get up and go to work really early. Sometimes you have to wait for hours, or even the entire day for further instructions. It wasn't too bitter for me. I have been going through all these step by step from the old trying days to the time when my career begins to stabilize. I think it was a good experience. "I remember my first role after my graduation was a nun in Justice Sung. No lines. No talking. The only thing I had to do was to play the muyu**. I was really nervous. When Cheung Tat-Ming and Amy Kwok entered and spoke, I didn't know whether I should keep going or not. So the director asked me to go on. I was feeling kind of stupid to keep playing all the time and not knowing when to stop. That experience was quite unforgettable! Before that I always worried if other crew members would be mean to me. It was absolutely a misunderstanding. Even if they couldn't remember my name at first, they would check up the rundown before calling me. They never called me 'little girl' or 'whatever-your-name-is' or anything unkind. They were nice people." The Award, The Pressure Receiving her first acting award in the 36th TVB Anniversary, Tavia does not become all conceited overnight. She takes the award as a compliment and a motivation that will push her into the next level. "After receiving this award, I think I better work a lot harder to prove that I really deserve it. It might be a reward to my previous efforts, but I cannot stop improving at this point, or act like a big, haughty star yet. It is supposed to be a big motivation, to make me keep improving and work hard and take more challenges in the future. For example, I don't want to take as many active and happy roles as I did in the past. I want to try something different--maybe a villain or a handicap. I have more expectations in myself now, and more pressure too." When talked about the rewarding day back in November 2003, Tavia was still pretty excited about the subject. She said excitedly, "After receiving the trophy, somebody had already grabbed me aside for an interview before I could take a good look on it. When I came home, I just gave it to my mom and headed into my room for a good sleep, because I had to hurry back to the Mainland for Twin of Brothers in the next morning. I didn't even celebrate when I came back from China two months later. My fans had already brought some champagne for me on that special day." Now Tavia has settled her lovely trophy in a beautiful glass cabinet at home. She still takes it out for a good look from time to time! Too Shy for Miss Hong Kong Many people knows Tavia has an elder sister named Griselda, who is also a new actress in TVB. The difference between the two is that the former started her career in the Acting Academy and the latter started in a beauty pageant. Why didn't Tavia join her sister as a Miss Hong Kong? There are three main reasons: too shy; bad shape; and bad deportment. "You have to be confident and brave enough to go up on stage with a hand on your hip. I am not even comfortable with that pose. So how could I possibly be a Miss Hong Kong? I am only good at acting and memorizing lines! And the worst problem is that I have no deportment. There was once when I was trying to walk in a pair of high heels during a shot and I thought I would look pretty in them. And I ended up having a sprain in my ankle. I am a tomboy! I seldom dress in a tanktop. My shoulders are too wide, and they don't look good at all. My body shape is not too balanced. And my hips are too big too... That's why I am really proud of my sister. She was dressing in a bikini on stage! I have never seen her in that before!" There is No Competition in Between Although the Yeung sisters are working in the same field, Tavia firmly believes that there is only love and care between them, not competitions or comparisons in between. "Some people will try to contrast us in many ways: 'Oh, do they look alike?' 'Doesn't Tavia's face looks older than her sister's?' 'Isn't Griselda the one who is skinnier and shorter?'... etc. But they won't compare us on our achievements in this acting business. I entered this field earlier than her. She just arrived five to six years after I had graduated. There is no competitions between us. We will never envy each other. Sometimes she would even ask me for advice. We always give good suggestions to each other. We are feeling more bound to one another now." It's hard to imagine. Tavia, a cheerful and talkative girl now, was a shy and timid one in the past. Her sister, instead, was a more active member at school. "When we were still studying, my sister had joined many extracurricular activities--choirs, dramas, and poetry recitals. She is the active one at school. I, however, had never been on stage before. I had never been singing solo on stage. The biggest thing that I had ever done was to recite poems with a huge group of kids as a class. I was standing in the far back, trying to catch up with the others. Even when we were performing a song as a class, I always lip-synced. I had no desire to perform at all. I was so shy when I was small. I never talked much, and it was so different from the person I am right now. Now I can always speak up as loud as I can. I can greet any strangers at anytime and any place. That's what I've learned from the Academy." Never Depend on Publicity Stunts As most people recall, Tavia almost doesn't have any publicity stunts since her career has started. The biggest one was a reported romance between her and Timmy Hung last year. To survive in the show business, where gossips and publicity are in a direct proportion, Tavia would choose freedom over publicity. "Gossips and reported romances are two different issues. Reported romances are not always bad, but in most cases, unfortunately, they are. Gossips and disputes, however, can always bring out a negative influence. Yes, publicity is often accompanied with them, but they are also bad to the artists themselves. At least some parents would tell their kids not to follow so-and-so's behaviors, and regard those artists as bad role models. I'd rather stay silent and keep away from bad behaviors. I want to keep my image good and clean. I don't want people to hate me. But I understand the rules of this game. Sometimes even though you didn't do anything wrong, people will still make up something harmful to you. Like when you are getting closer to a friend of the opposite sex, they would say you are in love. And if that friend was of the same sex, they would call you a lesbian. If you deny, they would say you are trying to hide something from the public. But on the other hand, if you are too cautious on these issues, you can never make friends in this field. So I have to learn how to stay calm. I never take those publicity stunts too seriously. I simply laugh them off as nonsense. After all, these silly entertainment headlines are never as important as those of tragedies and deaths, aren't they?" Dating with the People in the Show Biz? No Way! Since Tavia has denied all the reported romance she has in these years, what kind of men would she wants to date? "I haven't set up a limit on what type of men I want. The most important thing is that I have to be comfortable with him. He has to treat me well and he better be taller than me. Human beings are always greedy creatures. If we have to set a limit on what kind of man we want, we might never meet our ideal partner. Like how I think Kaneshiro Takeshi is cute. If the man that I'll be in love with does not have a face like him, am I going to kick him out and dump him? Of course not, that's ridiculous. "I've never felt anyone trying to chase me since my career has started. When did I have my last crush? Wow! That's a long time ago! I was still studying when I had a crush on this cute guy from the higher class! If I really want to start a date now, I won't choose anyone in the show biz. Even if the people outside this industry might not have the best idea on what my job and life is like, I will have less pressure to date them. Walking hand-in-hand in public with another artist is the most pressured of all. I still haven't prepared for that kind of romance yet. "Besides, my boss (TVB) is now offering me big parts and opportunities that I could hardly miss. Dating will highly affect my performance. I still haven't set up a good foundations yet. And I am also that kind of person who can only concentrate on one thing at a time. If I am too busy on dating, I might not perform as good on my job. Therefore, I am not thinking about anything on dating now." http://www.geocities.com/tavern_wor...ews/040204e.jpg Copywriter's Words: The Chinese Checkers The interview was proceeded throughout a game we set up on the Chinese Checkers. We played the stone-scissors-paper game to determine who could make a move. If I won, I could also gain myself a chance to ask a question. It was a rule set up by Tavia. Nobody could opposed. I found a lot of screaming and yelling recorded in my tape after the interview, including the "pak-pak" noise Tavia made when she slapped on my laps every time she lost a round... The result? The used-to-be leading me had disappointed my two dear photographers and lost to Tavia by four precious steps. Whether it is a game or an act, Tavia always understands how to save her energy and sack the obstacles up at the right time. The way she grabs the right opportunity, is probably her winning philosophy. * "Studying-with the prince" is an old Chinese proverb. It refers to a person who always lose to the other fellow when they have a equal chance to win. ** A muyu, also known as a "wooden fish", is a Chinese traditional percussion instrument. It is usually played on Buddhist rituals. * Courtesy of http://www.taviayeung.com/ and TAVern (http://www.geocities.com/tavern_wor...ayeung/main.htm) Tavia Yeung: Waiting For Love Tavia is still waiting for love and romance. She also wishes to make a career breakthrough in the new year. She believes that the most important part of a relationship is that a couple should be comfortable with each other, or else, there would be no way to maintain a good and firm relationship. As the actress who took away the honor of the Most Improved Actress in the TVB Anniversary last year, Tavia Yeung saw the award as a reward to her efforts. Unfortunately she had to go back to work immediately after the ceremony that she had no time to celebrate with her friends and family. Now as three months have passed, Tavia still hasn't set up a specific goal for herself yet. She believes that it is more important to finish up her work right now before planning on anything further. Tavia has been working in Hangzhou and various locations in the Mainland China for four months. She recalls the working experience with friends and colleagues Raymond Lam and Ron Ng as great and exciting. And since she has also gained some weight on the trip, she is now calling for a diet. Back in Hong Kong, Tavia has to start her filming on Water Margin Infernal Affair almost instantly after the trip to China. In the three-days-only Chinese New Year holidays, she stayed with her parents and sister and celebrated. For her new year wish, she wishes everybody to be healthy and happy, and she hopes she can make another breakthrough on her career. "I want to try some new roles with different personalities." said she. Last year wasn't only a successful year for Tavia's acting career, it had also proved to be one of the juiciest year on her romantic rumors--especially the one with Timmy Hung. When she was asked about the rumor, she denied again, "We are always good friends and always will be. I'm still keeping in touch with him after the work in China. There is no romance between us." But Tavia admits that she is ready for the love arrow from Cupid. "I think the most important part of a relationship is that the couple should be feeling comfortable with each other. If there is a guy who is as good-looking as Tom Cruise, yet you are not feeling comfortable with him, it's useless. It's just not right." She also claims that if she is in love with someone one day, she will tell everybody about it. "It's human nature to be in love with someone. Why should we keep it in secret? My career has put great enough pressure on me. I don't need more." * Courtesy of http://www.taviayeung.com/ and TAVern (http://www.geocities.com/tavern_wor...ayeung/main.htm) |

![]() ![]() [Ta Kung Pao] Shirley Yeung and Tavia Yeung appeared as guests at a haircare promotion yesterday and although they do not know if they will become sponsors, they still received a handsome fee. The girls did a catwalk show with some other models and were also given samples of all the products. Since entering the industry, Shirley has had long hair all along but she says she had short hair when she was at school, but she cried when she had it cut. When she was filming for "Loving You" (The Threat of Love), she wore a short wig for filming and she felt it looked strange. Shirley says that she would like to make a shampoo advertisement because the female stars all have long hair like a waterfall and she is very envious. The ratings for her new show "Blade Heart" have not met expectations and when asked if she was worried about this, Shirley says there are thirty-six episodes in total and maybe the audience are just too busy and not getting home in time to watch. However, her friends and family all say it is very good and she believes there are other supportive viewers. Will Shirley think that it is not worth her injury if the show does not do well? She laughs: "Not at all." Is it because she has already earned herself a boyfriend? She smiles sweetly and says that everyone was very happy during filming. At the end of the month, Shirley will be going to South Africa to film a travel special and then she will be going to Sri Lanka for more filming. When it was suggested she has the luck to go travelling, Shirley says that she loves travelling and when she was studying she would often visit many places with her friends. After entering showbiz, she has not been able to fit the time in and so has not been able to join them. She would most like to visit Australia and Tibet. When asked if she will go with her boyfriend, she says that they are both busy, but maybe they can go away together filming in the future and make a holiday out of it. Being away from her boyfriend whilst filming, the reporters have suggested that she should get a 3G phone so that they can see each other. Shirley smiles sweetly again and says to hear his voice is already enough. Tavia says she likes keeping long hair because there are many advantages. She hopes that she will have the chance to make shampoo adverts because they are beautifully filmed and afterwards she can refuse to cut her hair if the company asks her to do so for dramas. When Tavia was asked if she would cut her hair if her boyfriend didn't like it, she says that this is up to her and she will not compromise for anyone, including a boyfriend. When asked if she likes long haired men, she admits that some men with long hair are very stylish, but thinking of the summertime when the men are dripping with sweat, she feels that the short military look is better. http://tvbspacenews.blogspot.com |

I just heard about it today, but i dunno so much about it. I'm happy that Tavia, sammul, and Ron get to be in the same series because that's what i wanted to see all along, and not it came true. I wonder who will be pair up with who since there are exactly four of them. But it doesn't reallu matter, since i like both Tavia and Sammul as well as Tavia and Ron. I just can't wait for it to release in the future.

Ron has revealed that he has already agreed to film a new modern series in which he will be cooperating with his rumoured girlfriend, Tavia Yeung. Asking him if he will be worried about bringing up rumours again, he laughs saying, "She's not even interested in me! ("You chased her before?") We have known each other for so long; if we were to date, we would have already--why would we wait until now? We are only friends--friends that have rumours with one another."

![]() 30/3/2004 Tavia Yeung was invited to share her beauty experiences at a cosmetics promotion and has also been offered an unlimited lifetime's supply of products from the company. They admire Tavia for her youth and acting talent and indicate that they had wanted to ask her to represent them two years ago and upon hearing this, Tavia is very pleased. She says he spends about $2000 a month on skincare products and this will save her a lot. She says: "One white covers three uglinesses, so when I don't have to work, I will use two masks in one day so now I can save on this. If I can also have sponsors for clothes, trousers, shoes and socks as well then that would be even better and I can put my wallet away forever!" Also, Tavia indicates she will be filming for Wong Wai Sing's new production at the end of next month: "In the show I will be playing a police cadet, so I will have to cut my hair to collar length and it is quite daunting for me." http://tvbspacenews.blogspot.com |

[News]
TVB's "Police Cadet Brave Hearts" has had plenty of negative press linked to it since it began filming, such as Roy Chow being excluded after being arrested for drug possession, followed by Deep Ng's arrest also on drug charges and then the fall out between Sammul Chan and Fiona Sit and the latest being Sammul's car accident this week. With so much happening to the show's cast, there have been suggestions that this is because the show is yet to have a blessing ceremony. The blessing ceremony finally took place yesterday and apart from Sammul who is currently still nursing his injuries from the crash, the other stars such as Ron Ng, Fiona Sit, Michael Miu and Tavia Yeung were there. Even the troubled Deep Ng was present as he made his incense offering earnestly in the hope that his forthcoming court case will go well for him. When they cut the roast pig, Michael Miu and Chin Ka Lok who play the police trainers both hoped that Deep will overcome his difficulties and Sammul will escape any dangers. When Deep heard this, he bowed in thanks to them. Producer Wong Wai Sing told Tavia to eat some pork, but Tavia declined because she is fine now. When Tavia was later asked what had happened, she indicated that she three or four weeks ago, she had a small crash in Mongkok, but it was a minor incident and she just didn't brake in time and ended up hitting the car in front. She paid two thousand dollars to the other driver, but her own car needed over ten thousand dollars to repair. After the accident, Tavia went to the temple to pay her respects and put her mind at rest, but she never would have imagined that Sammul would also have a crash a few weeks later. She tells of Sammul's accident: "Who would have thought that Sammul would have an accident so soon afterwards, but he was a lot worse than me because his car is in a terrible state. The funniest thing was when he told me he spun around three times, I imagined him like a spaceman, doing three turns inside th car." She says that filming is hard work and accidents should not always be linked to superstition. Usually it is down to the artiste not getting enough sleep and losing concentration whilst driving. Deep seemed in good spirits yesterday and he says that he has been working these past few days. When asked how he was feeling, he says that he is better than before because he has been chatting to people at work and he does not want to affect them, so he will work his hardest. Many people gave him their encouragement yesterday and Deep was very thankful and touched by their support. When asked whether he had heard any particularly supportive words, he says that everyone has given him great support and he has kept all the encouraging text messages that he has received. When Deep was asked whether he was afraid that he would receive a rather chilly reception yesterday, he says he was not afraid because everyone is very good to him. Earlier, Deep was to take part in a scene where he had to be handcuffed and Producer Wong was asked when this would be filmed. He says that they will be filming in the studio today, but Deep will not be required to be handcuffed because he will just be led away for investigations in the show. Deep did not know about this and if he had to film it, he would be willing because he is a professional artiste. As for the bad press and accidents, Wong says that this is all coincidence and this will not affect the progress of the show's filming. He adds that after Sammul's accident, he will be arranged to film some gentle scenes first with the action scenes postponed for when he recovers. When Deep was asked whether his case would be heard on the 21st, he declined to comment on anything regarding the case because he does now know legal procedure and it is all in the hands of his lawyers. As for Deep's earlier claims of being close friends with the Chief of Security Lee Siu Kwong being followed by Lee's son Glen (TVB Actor) saying that he has only known Deep for four years, Deep was asked if he had spoken to Glen who was also at the blessing ceremony. Deep said that he had, but Glen said later he had not had a chance to speak to Deep yet. Glen also added that he had called Deep to offer his support because they have known each other for a few years and from his response, Glen felt that Deep was very strong and determined. He hopes that everyone can offer Deep their support because this has been a severe blow to him and put a lot of pressure on him. Ron Ng indicates that he has called Sammul Chan to ask how he is and he hopes that Sammul will be okay and will get some rest. Ron had to rush to the blessing ceremony yesterday because he hopes that after this gesture, everything will go smoothly. He did not drive there though, and when asked whether this was because of his earlier speeding offence, he denies this, but says that he will be very careful when he drives, especially late at night and he will keep to the speed limits. http://www.tvbspacenews.blogspot.com/ |

some news on Tavia..
![]() http://the-sun.com.hk/channels/ent/2004071...2071108_big.jpg TVB's new series "Twin of Brothers" will begin airing in Hong Kong on the 19th and cast members from the show including Ron Ng, Tavia Yeung, Nancy Wu, Lee Chi Hung, Tang Ho Kwong, Chan San Chung, Choi Kit Man and Yuen Tak Cheung were present yesterday at a promotion at a hotel swimming pool entitled: "Water Martial Arts Challenge". Tavia Yeung came prepared for the event, bringing floats and armbands, but as she played games in the water, she was still frightened into screaming. TVB knew that she couldn't swim, so they had specially arranged for Tang Ho Kwong and Chan San Chung to protect her, but when she was pushed into the water by Ron Ng, she lost all notion of who her friends were as she frantically pushed Chan's head into the water and then threw herself into Tang's arms. Afterwards, Tavia was asked if she was very scared and she smiled: "It couldn't be helped, all for promotion!" Talking of her repaying Chan for his help with revenge, she admitted that she didn't know what she was doing and only when she saw his rather distressed look that she realised. She had wanted to apologise, but he rushed away to get changed before she had a chance. Tavia also said: "I am very thankful to Chan San Chung and Tang Ho Kwong. (Why can't you swim?) I went to Ocean Park Water park when I was young and my swimming costume got caught in one of the slides, so since then I am very scared of water and daren't go swimming again. That's why I don't have one swimsuit at home and I am the only person in the family who cannot swim." Also, there was an 'ice-breaking' ceremony in yesterday's event and when Ron pulled the sword from the ice, one of the lights from the block of ice fell out and exploded as it dropped on Tavia's foot, luckily she was unharmed. When asked if she has expectations for the ratings of "Twin", she says that of course she hopes for good results, because this is a forty episode series that was filmed entirely on location and there are some unusual pairings among the cast so this should be very refreshing. At the event, Ron was seen to push both Tavia and Nancy into the water, but then he did not offer them any help in getting up. Was he afraid of causing rumours? He explains that he did not know that Tavia could not swim, but later when she grabbed hold of his hand, he realised she was in trouble and helped to pull her up. http://tvbspacenews.blogspot.com/ This post has been edited by m1ss: Jul 19 2004 8 18 PM |

some news.. Ron & Tavia's kissing scene! ![]() Ron Ng and Tavia Yeung were filming for "Police Cadet Brave Hearts" in Kowloon Tong Park in a wet kiss scene where Ron is feeling particularly depressed because of family problems and whilst talking to good friend Tavia in the park, they end up hugging and kissing. In reality, Ron and Tavia have known each other for a long time and are good friends, so even when they are filming such a nervous scene, they are still very relaxed and are not embarrassed at all, even giving out the odd mouth wiping and lip licking expressions, much to the amusement of everyone around them. Ron and Tavia kissed about four or five times for the different camera positions, but the funniest part as when they gave a most romantic and passionate performance for the camera, but as soon as the director called "Cut!", they immediately sprung away from each other and Ron asked Tavia: "Wah, why is there a hair?". It turned out that Tavia had a hair in her mouth that made the kiss rather uncomfortable. Also, when the two were asked if there was any awkwardness, Ron and Tavia both said that there wasn't any at all. Ron even added: "How can you be embarrassed with so many crew around? Had we done any special preparation? No, we filmed it straight after having dinner!" When it was mentioned about his kiss with Shirley Yeung in "Find the Light", he says that it was just a gentle kiss then, not as passionate as this one. Tavia went on to reveal that Ron had previously been filming a drinking and being sick scene and then he went straight on to kiss her! ![]() TVB's new series "Twin of Brothers" will begin airing on Monday and a promotional event was held yesterday in busy Tsimshatsui with a parade of dragons and cast members including Raymond Lam, Ron Ng, Tavia Yeung, Christine Ng, Chan San Chung and Nancy Wu wearing their ancient costumes, but suffering from the intense 32 degree heat and constantly wiping the sweat from their faces. Tavia laughs that the parade was fantastic and she explains that it was just some people pushing against those at the front and there was not really any confusion. She was also not worried about people taking advantage, but was more worried about fans getting injured, luckily they managed to keep order. With high hopes for the show's ratings, has she arranged with the other cast members how they will celebrate? Raymond had suggested that if the ratings hit 40 points, the girls should wear bikinis, whilst the guys stood and watched, so to this Tavia responded: "How about if the show hits 30 points, the guys wear triangular swimming trunks and the girls stand by and watch?" She was not disappointed about not being able to complete the original route, saying: "It is a good thing because it is so hot today, my costume is already soaked through. (Was it really hard work before?) It was very hot, but there were too many people and it was very crowded and suffocating. Was there anyone taking advantage? No, there was too many security guards around. I am pleased to see so many people here to support us today as this has injected confidence into the shows ratings." http://tvbspacenews.blogspot.com/ <span class='edit'>This post has been edited by m1ss: Jul 19 2004 12 17 PM</span> This post has been edited by forever_autumn: Jan 6 2006 2 00 AM |

more news... =) doesn't really mention Tavia but it talks about Police Cadet Brave Hearts
![]() Currently on bail after his arrest on drugs offences, Deep Ng was filming on his last day of location shots for "Police Cadet Brave Hearts" yesterday, where his character escapes a prison sentence and he seemed in especially high spirits. At around 8 am yesterday, family of three - Deep, Tavia Yeung and Liu Kai Chi were filming in Ap Liu Street where Deep, who plays a triad boss in the show, was flanked by a few well built men and showing some prowess. Even though it was quite early in the morning, Deep seemed quite spritely and was busy discussing the script with the director before filming, then checking his expressions with Tavia as he became absorbed in his work. Having evaded the press earlier, he seemed in a better mood and displayed a friendlier attitude towards the press, explaining about his role: "The character is not bad at heart and is not a nasty person, but he was stupid enough to follow the wrong path so he manages to evade prison in the end." Deep also revealed that he had filmed the handcuffing scenes earlier and says: "I don't mind, the show only reflects real life." Since Deep's incident, there has been a lot of revelations that drugs use is rife among the showbiz circles and when asked if the cases were linked, he says with reservation: "I am still a newcomer, I don't have such a big influence yet and I wouldn't be able to make the police take action. If there is a problem, then it is down to the individual. (Have you been in touch with your 'peer' Roy Chow?) No, we each have our own problems." Deep indicates that his emotions have settled down now and thanks once again those who support him. Also, the producer Wong Wai Sing was asked if the script had been changed as a result of this and he replied: "No, the script was like this all along and has not been changed." http://tvbspacenews.blogspot.com/ |

![]() [Sing Pao] King of newcomers Ron Ng and beauty Tavia Yeung are trying something new away from their usual acting jobs as they take part in Metro Radio's radio drama "Lab Stories on the 28th Floor", where they play a pair of lovers. This is their second time paired up after TV series "Police Cadet Brave Hearts" and their show will be airing on the 9th of August when you can hear Tavia play the lady at the lab and Ron play the drug company salesman. Ron says this character is a new experience for him and it is very cute. Working on a radio drama for the first time, Ron and Tavia are both very happy and on the day of recording, the two were very serious as they went about their debut on the airwaves. As their acting training has paid off, then reading the scenes from a script is of little challenge to them and as they have worked together before, then they already have an understanding and therefore completed the recording very quickly. On the day of recording, there were a number of people present, including the original author Wai Yuk and producer Chan Siu Chi who had prepared some snacks and drinks for them before they went ahead to scrutinise the script in a very happy and relaxed atmosphere. Ron indicated that he was not nervous for his first radio performance and it was not hard work, but a good laugh. His character was a little different from any he had played in the past, so the more he read it the happier he became. He would most like to have the chance to play a bad guy because just using his voice to act this has some difficulty to it. You don't need expressions to act on the radio,so he finds this even more interesting than filming in front of the camera. Also making her radio debut, Tavia feels that the process was very enjoyable and she was a little nervous to start with. She is looking forward to seeing the reception to her performance and she will be telling all her friends to tune in and hopes that she will have another chance to do it again. http://www.singpao.com/20040805/gossip/588900.html Credits Em @ http://www.tvbspacenews.blogspot.com/ |

![]() Ron Ng and Tavia Yeung took part in a make-up demonstration at a promotion yesterday, but Ron made quite a hash of it all and even told the female fan not to move around so much, causing quite a few laughs! He says: "Men are not quite as used to putting on make up as women, so it was not that bad really! However, I feel that not wearing make up is the best, so getting a tan is enough and it saves some money too!" http://the-sun.com.hk/channels/ent/2004080...05901_0003.html |

![]() [Oriental Daily] Tavia Yeung has been busy filming for new series "Imperial Layabout" and in response to the reports that last week's ratings for "Twin of Brothers" being less than satisfactory, averaging just 28 points and yet to break 30 points, as one of the lead females, Tavia says that she is not disappointed and is confident that the ratigs will rise later. Tavia hopes that people will not concentrate too much on the ratings figures and focus on enjoying the unusual filming techniques used in the show. She believes that beautiful people and beautiful sets will attract more viewers. However, Tavia has heard criticisms from friends that the storyline is moving too slowly and it is rather boring. She says that you shouldn't be so impatient because there are forty episodes to the show and the story will slowly emerge. Also, this is not a normal martial arts show in that you do have to put some thought into it and the audience may need some time to adapt to this. http://orientaldaily.com.hk/ent/ent_a71cnt.html Em @ http://tvbspacenews.blogspot.com/ |

Filming Finale of "Police Cadet"
http://my.newsgroup.com.hk/my.cgi/sun20080...77&part=2&utag= http://my.newsgroup.com.hk/my.cgi/or200804...78&part=2&utag= brief translation TVB's "Police Cadet Brave Hearts" has had a lot of bad luck since filming began, but they recently filmed the finale scene, so Michael Miu treated the cast and crew to a meal at Tsimshatsui. Those that attended included Ron Ng, Fiona Sit, Chin Ka Lok, producer Wong Wai Sing, etc. As for Fiona's rumoured rival, Sammul Chan, he had to host for the Olympic Games, so he did not attend the dinner. In addition, Fiona, Ron, Tavia Yeung, Lee Ka Sing, and Rico Kwok were filming the last scene, which talks about Ron misunderstanding Tavia for stealing a phone, so Lee Ka Sing and Rico follow Tavia into a back alley, only to find her feeding some puppies. Because the three puppies gave off a fetid odour, Tavia had to block the air from approaching her in order to smoothly complete the scene. Tavia was also afraid to get close to the adorable puppies as she revealed that she had always been scared of dogs. But since it was required in the show, she had no choice but to keep a distance from them! Also, because Rico was frequently in the wrong positions, a miserable Lee Ka Sing teased him for being "feeble-minded." thanks to hyn5 and Ron's Newsgroup 8 Weekly Magazine http://www.ronng.com/magazine/8weekly/8weekly011.jpg * Courtesy of RonStation :: www.ronng.com brief translation -it just says that some research describes ice-cream as a sex food, that once a female eats it up, she'll increase her sex appeal.."thats why alot of people feed each other ice cream so much" -Ron and Tavia were filming a scene where they were eating icecream and a bunch of nosy people were watching them so they had to finish the scene as quick as possible -Tavia who is the spokes person of a slimming company(aka. 7 keto Trim) only taste a little bit and let the rest melt in her cup. credit Hydie ![]() Credit Translation by Hydie Grammer Editing by: Tanya Site Credit: Tav-ya.cjb.net Do not put on personal site without permission if you put on other forums plz credit thanks ^.^ Ron, Tavia, Ng Yak Yin, Cheng Yung, Tang Wing Chi, and Fiona Yuen went to "Lun fans soh" 60-min bday party yesterday. The party gave ron and tav a bday cake for their 25th bday. Tavia's Birthday is on August 30th adn Rons is on September 2nd. For their wish, both of them want more work opportunities. Ron said he has to work on his birthday, but might still go celebrate with his friends afterwards. Tavia doesnt know if she has to work on her birthday. Both stars sang the theme song for "Sun Sing" (The Broadcasting Company). Ron is planning to release an album, so he was very happy to sing live, He has been taking vocal lessons and doesnt know if tvb is going to release his songs. Sammul Chan is also going to be releasing his own songs but earlier than Ron, Ron says it is normal, because Sammul started his carrer earlier than ron did. [Oriental Daily 30/08/04]
Heavily promoted leads at TVB Ron Ng and Tavia Yeung had a joint birthday celebration earlier with over a hundred fans and as well as cutting cake and playing games, the fans had also prepared a special tape for them showing congratulatory clips from their TVB colleagues, including Flora Chan, Raymond Lam, Timmy Hung, Bernice Liu, Chin Ka Lok and Liu Kai Chi. During the party, the two stars also opened their hearts to the fans, thanking their managers for many years of care and attention, during which Tavia was so emotional that she burst into tears. In the few short years since their emergence in showbiz, Ron and Tavia have already reached the 'New King & Queen' position in the artiste rankings and little wonder that they were moved by the meeting with their fans. With a heartfelt thank you for their fans and managers at the end of the party, Tavia told tearily of the days before she was famous when she met with some harsh treatment, it was her manager who gave her unlimited support and encouragement during the hard days. She said: "Ron and I have grown up in TVB and at first people looked down on us, but my manager would hold our hands and give us courage to walk in front of these people as well as paving the path for us and solving our problems. Without their support, there would not be the Tavia you see today." In the clip, 'good brother' Raymond Lam said to Ron: "Happy birthday 'ah Hei', I hope that people will stop saying that we have fallen out and whilst I am not in Hong Kong, I hope taht you will eat more so you have strength to work and nothing unhappy will ever happen to you." http://orientaldaily.com.hk/ent/ent_a60cnt.html Credits to Em - http://www.tvbspacenews.blogspot.com/ |

![]() ![]() [Ta Kung Pao, The Sun & Oriental Daily 31/08/04] A group of cast members from "Twin of Brothers" including Raymond Lam, Ron Ng, Tavia Yeung, Nancy wu, Christine Ng and Leila Tong took part in a charity event for Po Leung Kuk yesterday, playing games with the students. As it was also Tavia's birthday and with Ron and Nancy also celebrating birthdays on September 2nd and 9th respectively, the three were presented with a birthday cake and wishes from the rest of the cast. Tavia is currently filming for new series "Imperial Layabout" and she says that her birthday wish is for good health, to make more money and for everything to go smoothly. What will she do with the money she earns? She says: "I hope that my family can have a more comfortable life and to be able to start a little business of my own. I don't wish for romance, just see what comes along." As his birthday is very close to Tavia's, Ron will be taking her out for dinner to celebrate. When asked if he will introduce her to his friends, he laughs: "Choosing a boyfriend is all about personal preferences and I do not have anyone to introduce her to, but I hope that she will find the one this year, so I can take them both out next year." Ron was wearing shades throughout yesterday's event and it turns out that he has just had a moulding of his face done for new series "Courageous Kunlun", but this has caused a skin allergy on his face. Egged on by Lo Chun Shun and the other cast members to give Tavia a birthday kiss, Ron just gave her a peck on the cheek and this was returned to wish him a happy birthday for the 2nd. Tavia indicated that she will be celebrating with her family after finishing work. She says: "When I was filming for 'Imperial' yesterday, the crew bought me a cake and I received some presents from my fans. Adam bought me a cheesecake and gave me a birthday kiss." http://www.takungpao.com/news/2004-8-31/UL-300285.htm http://orientaldaily.com.hk/ent/ent_a25cnt.html http://the-sun.com.hk/channels/ent/2004083...11227_0003.html Credits to Em - http://www.tvbspacenews.blogspot.com/ [Summarized to Main] |

I'm really really starting to like TAvia more now. The first time I saw her was...ah...Whatever it takes with Benny Chan. Yeah...didn't really like her there. her character to me was kind of useless. But then when I watch other series like Vigilant Forces, The W files, she proved that she was more than a pretty face, she can actually act! Anyways, watching Twin of Brothers right now and I'm enjoying Ray and Tavia scenes. Too bad though they won't end up together! I'm kind of upset about that. In fact, I think I'm going to stop watching the series when Ray and the other chic gets together. By the way, don't like her.
So now, looking forward to Tavia and Ron together in that new Police cAdet movie, also...the return of Michael Miu Kiu Wai! CAN"T WAIT! |

So what is the real Tavia like? Tavia's stayed clear from rumours during her 6 years with TVB. That's the reason why she's been so loved by tv viewers and able to climb up the ranks to become lead actress. Tavia agrees that sometimes rumours help an artiste to become more well known and noticed but if she has a choice she rather steer clear of rumour-mongers and be able to go shopping and catch movies as per normal. GOOD GIRL TRAINING CLASS: Tavia did not come from a rich family. Her memories of childhood is a love-hate one. Her parents were strict on her and her sister. Homework must be done by 9pm, no phone calls after 11pm, etc etc. She washed the dishes every Mon, Wed, Fri whilst her sis does the Tues, Thurs, Sats dishes. No late nights out, etc etc. At that time Tavia felt her parents were over-bearing control freaks, but nowm, upon hindsight, she has her parents to thank that she did not become a "Gangster-Girl". How can she, if she's been enrolled in her parent's "Good girl training class" since young? A WORLD OF THEIR OWN: To be closer to work, Tavia and her sister moved out of their parents' house. At first she felt she's rid of her parents claws and be freeeeeeeeee..... but as time passes she realised that there were perks living with her parents.. at least the house was clean ! Tavia and sister's house is in a constant but thanks to Tavia's mom dropping by once in a while to clean the house, it has not downgraded to resembling a "rubbish heap" yet ! When the reporter asked Tavia what plans she has for the future, Tavia replied "How can I talk about plans when I can't even do my household chores?! hahaha" DREAM HOUSE: On the subject of 'dream house', Tavia is in fact a rather down to earth person with simple expectations. Nothing extravagant, ostentatious or fancy, just a simple house will do. Tavia feels that the most crucial thing about her home is that it has to be able to make her feel relaxed and comfortable when she return from her hectic work. Her current home is not too bad. The only problem is that she needs to take the elevator which she dislikes because she bumps into too many people. So ideally, she'd like her dream house to be situated in a more isolated location.. not totally uninhabited ! A big garden would be nice where she can rear a few bouncy white rabbits and where she can invite friends over occassionally for BBQ. That would be ideal...... thanks to toot |
