I have been a fan of DBSK for a few months and I go to alot of forums (I'm usually a silent reader), but this has been bugging me for a long time.
Why the hell is Hero so damn popular?! I think that he is way overrated just because he's really hot. Fans overestimate his talent because they are blinded by his looks, and think that he is absolutely perfect. I admit, he's really good-looking and he does have a pretty voice, but other then that, he doesn't do much...I see lots of polls at here and soompi that have Hero in them, and he wins every single time! The other members are equally talented (I think the others actually have more talent), but they are not as popular because they are not as hot as Hero. Everyone votes for Hero just because they like him, they don't even think about things closely. Anyone who is not blinded by Hero's looks would know that he is not the most talented since he only can sing and not dance. I also see a lot of arguments over this, and a lot of fans say that they like Hero for his singing and his personality, but I think it's BS. I know there are alot of fans who do like Hero for his singing, but most of them only like him for his looks. I think that if Hero was kinda fat and ugly, he wouldn't even have much fans. That makes me sad because what will happen to him in 10-20 years when he is not as hot, will they all just abandon him? I see lots of fans say that he would be most successful as a solo artist, but I think that if they all did break up, that people will realize that he is not so great by himself. What I said before, what will happen to him when he's not so hot anymore? I know that people will argue and say stuff like, "I love Hero because he is a good singer!" I don't think it's all true since I always read stuff like, "I love Hero because he is sooooo hot!" I know lots of fans will get angry and think I'm crazy, but leave CRITIQUES and not bashes! I think only I believe this...Sorry if you got offended, but I think he is too overrated for his talent compared to the other four members. |

Anyone who is not blinded by Hero's looks would know that he is not the most talented since he only can sing and not dance. Haha I have heard about that biased act in Soompi. Can't say I approve of it but there is nothing we can do. Just let those fans be biased. The rest of the DBSK members have their own charms. It is just up to how fans see them. Some fans are so biased towards Jae Joong until they are willing to put the other members down just to make Jae Joong look superior. I, too, don't get the point of this. Does that make Jae Joong love them more? Does that earn them a longer life? Let's just say, if we are DBSK fans, we should just support their albums/singles/merchandises and not spending time to worship a particular member like he is God, and then bashing the other members like they don't deserve to form a group with Jae Joong. I personally, have never thought that Jae Joong is the most talented out of all five. I am his fan, but there are still flaws that I find in him. Like you said, he can sing but not dance. He does well in choreographed dances but when it comes to freestyle dances, it's not his best. I also see a lot of arguments over this, and a lot of fans say that they like Hero for his singing and his personality, but I think it's BS. I know there are alot of fans who do like Hero for his singing, but most of them only like him for his looks. Hmm... I have to admit that I am attracted to his looks, but of course, his singing still melts me. I think, most fans firstly fall for his looks, and after they listened to DBSK songs, they fall for his vocals as well. As for his personalities, I can't say much because I don't know him personally. I can only like him for how he is in those clips floating around the internet. Again, that is subjective. I like it when Jae Joong shows his dorky side, but some other people will think he is dumb acting like this. I see lots of fans say that he would be most successful as a solo artist, but I think that if they all did break up, that people will realize that he is not so great by himself. What I said before, what will happen to him when he's not so hot anymore? This is typical. Once a singer gets older and as new younger singers come out, that singer loses his/her charm. Seriously, look around in the entertainment industry, how many singers can actually last for more than even 10 years without losing most of their fans? You can say Andy Lau is still famous, but I bet he has MORE fans last time than he has them right now. I think, as a singer, when you first stepped into the entertainment circle, you should be prepared that you may soon face crisis and failure. You do not shine eternally. I know it is rather sad if one day Jae Joong ages and no longer appears hot anymore, then his fans leave him, but think about it, this WILL happen eh? This WILL happen to every singer, and not just Jae Joong himself. I can't say that whether I will still remain as a fan or not if that day comes since that is beyond my ken. Whether he is overrated or underrated is also a subjective matter, However this is your opinion & so should be respected.
Personally I got intersted in DBSK because of JJ looks, he has this kind of charisma & coolness plus his gorgeous face that can't be not noticed for a long time. I started listening to their music out of curiousity & the 1st thing was their live HM&S concert & realised how talented they all r. Having listented to most of their songs & seen most of their clips & shows I came to the conclusion that as a group they function greatly ,blending in & covering their weakness. Individually I think all of them r not perfect & who is?? they differ in their singing & dancing skills, but overall they r great & do have unique voices, they r however sill learning & improving. As for JJ, I personally think he is way too underrated, I know that he has the looks & charisma that gave him the highest popularity of the 5 outside Korea, However in Korea he doesn't really get the attention & appreciation for his voive that he deserves. I think some korean fans can be shallow sometimes, & prefer the cute type of image over the real talent, JJ is not that type, & has a cold & shy persona, plus his absence from shows since their debut till the release ofthe 3rd album, really overshadowed his presence & personality. I think entertainment news & show r now beginning to realise that among the 5 of them he has the really best persona & can be the funniest & most interesting one on shows. So if talking about internet polls, these attract the participation of everybody, & not the real fans, from a fan's point of view; he is very talented but higly underrated esp in Korea becasue he is not the typical image of the stars trend their, as for his dancing he is not the best dancer, but not the worst as well ,before his injury I thought he was the 2nd best, after his injury he tend to pay much attention to his footsteps & not the rythem, he's still great in choreographed dancing & group dancing as for free style it's not his type & doesn't match with his personality & honestly don't think it would matter for a singer like him...If they decide to go solo or to do solo projects I think he will be the best among the five, as for his change in looks 10 years from now, I guess real fans love him for his voice 1st, personality second & then looks, for me I think I'll still be a fan by then.... I discovered DBSK a month ago from a show "I Love Show Talk (?)". Then I began to watch all their drama in youtube, not until later that I started to listen to their songs. To me, the ones that stand out in singing the most are Changmin, Junsu, and Micky. In terms of looks, hands down to JaeJong. But when it comes to personality, all 5 carry different unique charms which make the group more lovable.
I can't say much 10 years from now. Even though I'm more of a Micky's fan, but when I read this post, I feel sad for JJ. He looks hot, sure. But you have to give him credit too, he's not a bad singer. His voice blends well with other members. But hey, he's the main singer of the group (according to the online info). No matter how good looking someone is, the producer wouldn't put anyone whose voice can't match up with others as a main singer now, would they? I don't know which forums you saw. I went through a couple myself, I thought when it comes to singing poll, Junsu always win. |

Well alot of ppl are hella shallow I gotta admit that
but you're being kinda unreasonable, there ARE ALOT of ppl that like him mostly on his talent when DBSG just debuted, I d/led their songs before I saw their MVS and fell in love with JJ'S voice, then I looked them up and saw he was good looking too (actually at the start, I thought he looked too pretty) but seriously now, anyone that hears dbsg can tell JJ's voice is GORGEOUS seriously, if I only like singers bc of their looks, I would be liking SO many more boybands, namely the goodlooking ones from taiwan who are talentless, but I don't. Talent comes first definitely imo. then comes personality, charm and looks Oh and I REALLY DO like him for his personality, it's dorky and weird, but has this innocence to it, it's really cute I admire him bc of his determination and perseverence- did you know he was from a VERY poor family, and did not have enough money to pay for singing lessons that's why there were a few times he had to SELL HIS OWN BLOOD to exchange for money for food?? did you know he was tone deaf and ppl used to laugh at him at school whenever he sang, but he REALLy wanted to become a singer, so he tried and tried, and auditioned over and over again. Despite being rejected from SM for the first two-three times, he still persevered and continued trying, until he got in. It's JJ's whole package that I love, if he was only good looking and couldn't sing or had a crap personality, I wouldn't be a fan. That's why I'm not a fan of farenheit or edison chen etc Bc they only look good, and have nothing else to offer. This post has been edited by honeycomb1010: Jul 15 2007 6 03 AM |

You say people are biased when they say they love Jaejoong's voice and personality only, aren't you biased too in believing that he's not all that. Because you're not his fan, the way you look at him is different. What's wrong with ppl being shallow and only look at his face? I think that guy is hot as heck, but I'll listen to his songs on my MP3. I dont do that to pretty people who cant sing because, well, u gotta see their faces to forgot about their voices. I'll tell you, he CAN sing. And 10 years from now, not only will Jaejoong get ugly, everybody will get uglier than they are now.

Hmmm...You DO know that you're getting tracked by many fangirls at this moment, right?
I kid, I kid, I do have to agree with some of your rants, but I'm too lazy now to elaborate. Perhaps later when I'm more in-tune with my thoughts I'll post something nice and looong. |

^^No, I am not biased cuz I like them all equally but I still think that Hero is too overrated.
I mean...Yeah, he's a hella good singer, I admit it, one of the best, but I don't think he's the best out of the group but yet people all say that. I know that people will be bias no matter what, people are all that way, but people put him too high on a pedestal. Whenever I read stuff about "best singers" people always mention Hero when he's not the best. Especially since his live songs are not that good. I knew of Hero first like most people, and I knew how popular he was so I thought he would be super amazing, but he wasn't. I listened to all their songs at first not liking one more then any other, but Hero is not "THE BEST SINGER EVER!" Like a lot of fans say. I think it is a mixture of hot looks+hot voice that makes people like him so much. Since we do not see that so much in today's music industry, he is "special" in a certain way... Mind&soul, well, there's gotta be a reason why he's underrated in Korea. Maybe it's because in Korea they "know" more about the artists and they just don't think he's that awesome either. What do you mean he's not what is in style in Korea? I know that Lee Jun Ki is super popular in Korea because of his feminine looks, and he made the feminie look super popular so Hero should be popular. Why should he be most popular in Korea, too, so that he gets ALL the attention and the others don't? Be happy he is already more popular internationally. If you say that talent matters a lot, then it's good that Micky and Xiah are the most popular in Korea because they are the most talented. Micky is good at singing and good at dancing, plus he composes more songs. Xiah is a good singer and a good dancer, plus he already composed some songs, too. Hero is only good at singing, and he's not the best singer in the group either because like I said before, he doesn't sound as good live. I don't think he was ever 2nd best, and he didn't injure his leg THAT bad so it didn't effect his dancing too much. I don't think that he will be that successful as a solo singer. Since he came from a boyband that sang AND danced, we all know that once he goes solo, he is not going to probably dothat many dance songs. When you are a singer+dancer, people will expect you to always be like that. Just like how people will probably expect U-Know to be a dancer+singer and not just a dancer since he is better at that. Even if the international fans are there for him, that won't solve the problem unless he goes to America or something, but there's not even a lot of fans in AMerica. Even with all his fans, the Korean fans probably matter the most since they will be the ones around him most to buy/not buy his albums when they come out. Since Micky and Xiah are more popular, they will probably have more supporters to buy their stuff. youko, it's good that Xiah would win then since he is the better singer of the group. He can sing better live, and he can dance at the same time...But I see lots of best voice polls and Hero wins for those, too. Not only that, but he wins in every other poll when it doesn't really have to do anything with him. It would be a most manly poll and even Hero would win! I think that's crazy. Aspire, I really think that your reply was really good! Thanks for explaining a lot, even though we are different in opinions, I think yours was really nicely written. What I also mean is now, what if Hero gained 50 pounds in a month and looked like Shindong (?) from Super Junior? Would people still be his fans? Since all I ever see is "Hero is so hot, and I like him cuz he is hot" what will they talk about after he becomes fat? Even when I see that the topic is something like, "Who is most funny?" People still put tht Hero is really hot, since we all know that Hero is hot and the fans all say they are not shallow, why always bring it up when it's irrelevant? They would have nothing to say anymore then if he was bald or fat right? I just get annoyed when people say that he is hot and use that as their reason for liking him. Would it not be weird if everyone started saying they like Micky more because he speaks English better? Also, people always say that he is perfect! Hero is NOT perfect! HUMANS ARE NOT PERFECT! They always say, "Treat us like humans," so I don't think the fans do that correctly if they always say that Hero is the most perfect thing in the world when he's not. I think it's funny, too when a lot of the same people would say that he is perfect, but later say that he has flaws! That does not make sence! I do not care when the fans pick him that much, but when they say he is sooooooo amazing and perfect when he is not is when it gets annoying. I think the Hero fans are a bit too mcuh at times, I always see that they are the most crazy. I have been to lots and lots and lots of forums and the fans are usually the same. i read that Heroshock was closed because the fans would bash the other members too much, and I have not really seen the other boys' fans do that to the other members. I also see that it is usually Hero fans who always talk about popularity, since they know he is most popular they always like to bring it up because they like to know that he is still at the top. That means they are NOT DBSK FANS if they always want Hero to have the best and most fans then. If you say you are a DBSK fan then you should love DBSK and not chose one person over the whole group. Again, I always see that it's mostly the Hero fans who choose Hero over the whole group. I just saw lots of it at soompi where people always choose Hero over the group. Maybe they SHOULD break up just so that Hero fans can be happy, and then others will see that Hero was always too overrated. Kayem, are you kayem7289 from soompi?! I read lots of your posts, sorry if I don't ever post since I am too shy to post in such a big place! I want to know what you think since you always write really good essays. |

candieace: What I meant is that he lacks the cuteness factor that makes most teenage & preteenage fangirls go crazy about their idols, this is what I meant by shallow fans who won't look behind the image, we got to admit that most DBSK fans in Korea fall in this category, it is also the same category that makes Micky & Xiah more popular, for them the cute guy is the best & the most charming, but honestly I cant's say that Mickey & xiah are better than JJ.
Lee junki is a movie star, & his role combined with his looks made his popularity sore, But I still think he falls in the cute category, has a cheerful & warm smile that attracts people more, JJ is again cold & have a distant personality though he is trying to shed that image, I personally find him more attractive that way because it's his natural self. Currently they all sing in one group so it wouldn't matter who is better than who in composing songs as they don'r perform their own creations yet, they r all not perfect & still learning. Xiah by the way was a trainee for six years, meaning he got music & dancing lessons as part of being a trainee, so it's natural that he woould be a better composer, as it is natural for Yunho to be the best dancer since has been dancing the longest. JJ was a trainee for only 2-2.5 years. As for the best singer live in the group, I have to disagree with u here, I still think it's JJ, he usually gets the longest parts & the most difficult to sing, he also alternates & sing in a wider range than Xiah who usually sings fixed parts of songs. Xiah in my opinion is better in singing the high notes but really he doesn't strain his voive in different range as JJ does. But still both r still improving so not the best out there. As for his injury it was severe, he couldn't stand for a long time that he needed a wheelchair to attend their schedule, later used the crutches, & didn't particiapte in any dancing routine before April 2006, although hes was injured around August or September 2005. His knee still hurts form time to time, & he uses a knee suspender or something most of the time. if the group disbands which I prey not to happen as we all know they r best as a group i still think he will be the better singer, he can sing & can dance not necessarily SMP style, he has the talent & the charisma to attract older & more apprectiating fans, so i think he would have a longer career. He has alot of fans in Korea & they r starting to realise how charming & charismatic he is without resorting to being overly & fakely cute. I also think despite his amazing gorgeous looks, he is also much liked by male fans for his personality & cool style. Oh & on a side note, I also think he is the funniest among the guys you have to see their shows especialy in Japan to apprecaite his geniuine sense of humour. Wow I think this is the first anti-hero thread ive ever seen.
Here are my opinions on him: (Hope no one gets affended) Honestly i first got interested in DBSK becuae of their looks which yes is quit shallow. As for Hero I pisked him as my favorite becuase mainly of his looks and semi his voice so once again that is shallow. But now im not that much of a fan of his. Yes i still think hes good looking and is a good singer but like u said im kinda sick of everyone rooting for him just becuase of his looks. I mean just look at AF, theres so many polls comparing his looks to some other good looking guy (he usually wins too). I mean come on theres other things out there to compare celeberities beside looks. I also agree with u when u said that the others are talented but they have less fans becuasee they are not as good looking as hero. Its unfair how fans autonatically "fall in love" with a celeb just becuase they are very good looking. Another example: Super Junior. I dont know much about them but one of the members : ShingDong (sorry for the sp) isnt as popular just because he is not as good looking as the other members. I mean all of then sings and dances the same amount so when someone is not favored (to me) its mostly bassed of appearence. PS: If there is repetion from what someone else has said... sorry but i kinda just read the first post by the thread creator. This post has been edited by babigrl: Jul 15 2007 7 36 PM |

You are just like the fans I describe, the ones who deny the others talent and choose Hero over everyone when he is clearly not the most talented. You say that Xiah and Micky are not better than Hero, but they are if you compare their talents. There is nothing to back up Hero's defense except that he is a good singer, and that's it. Best live singer, you have to be joking. Anyone with ears knows that Hero is not, and perhaps this is again your biasness that's playing a role. I'm sure there are more fans out there who think that Hero is the best live singer, but no, he is not. At Xiah can sing and dance at the same time while still maintaining good vocals, and he sounds almost like the cd. People say that all the time. Hero also needs to work on his breathing and technique, but oh well...If you like his voice more, maybe you'll think so. Anyway, I think anyone who has watched Timeless would know that it's one of the most difficult songs to sing, harder than most parts Hero has ever had. And Xiah is also given more bridges because they are reserved for singers with better vocal ranges. He is more consistent. I don't like Xiah the most, but his live singer is by far more consistent and professional. But the Koreans know about Hero's "hidden" warm personality by now, it's been over three years already. Ok, he is cold at first, but I'm sure fans (epsecially the korean audience) by now already knows who he is. Also, exactly like you said, his cold personality and awkwardness during interveiws won't help him gain more fans. Micky, Xiah and U-Know are the most popular in Korea because they have more open personalities that celebrities should have in order to appeal to others. Hero and Max don't talk a lot, and that's why they're down the list. I see that people always say that Xiah has more experience as a trainee, but he was accepted into SM at 12 and debuted at 18, which means he got six years. Hero was accepted when he was 14 and they debuted when he was 18, which means he got FOUR years and not just two. Also, didn't Xiah have vocal problems for 2-3 years? That means he didn't get the training to the maximum then. Yunho got a lot of training, too, but his singing isn't very good. So that means training isn't everything, you have to have something to begin with so that you can improve. Are you saying that Micky is the suckiest then since he was only a trainee for six months before they debuted? You are free to think how you want, just like everyone else, but anyone who comes into DBSK as a new, new, new fan without a favorite, would know that Hero would not be the most successful. It's mostly the Hero fans who think that he'll make it the farthest for obvious reasons, but even non-DBSK fans wouldn't choose him based on pure talent. Saying that they don't need to compose now is a lame excuse because they DO need to start composing songs to prove they are better artists and not just something SM manufactured. Writing and composing songs would get them more respect from people, and again, you don't really learn how to compose. You are taught the fundamentals of music, but you MAKE UP the music and lyrics yourself. Take Ayumi Hamasaki for example, she had no experience at all when she first started, and she wrote all her own lyrics and was met with success. That means you don't need training then if you are musically gifted. That must mean that Hero is not musically gifted if he needs all this training. There are lots of singer/dancers that critically injure themselves and still come back as good and possibly even better dancers. Like Britney Spears, she injured her knee when she was like 17, and she became one of the best dancers. Madonna fell off a horse and broke her wrist and her shulder bones (Various other bones as well) and still came back just as good, and at the age of 48! Hero broke his leg when he was 19, so he's had a lot of time to heal and get back to being a good dancer, but that hasn't happened yet. Another thing is that Hero doesn't perform as well, he doesn't look like he tries to even dance in their performances. Especially from the third album showcase, Hero just danced, but not with any passion. You may disagree once again though, I won't be surprised. He is VERY funny, I agree with that, but it's not like the other boys aren't funny either. Hero is a camera whore, so when he does things, it's usually for the camera. Not everything, since I know he has a sarcastic sense of humor and is naturally dorky, but I'm talking about the bubble faces and lip-licking. Can you honestly say that Hero licks his lips and exposes his tongue by "accident?" Yeah right, he knows the camera is there, and he knows we all love it so he does it more. Babigrl, no, not anti-Hero, I just think he is too overrated for his talent and people pay too much attention to his looks. I think that out of all Hero-related posts I have seen, 75% of them are all about his looks and how hot he is. There's hot people everywhere, but since he is also a good singer, people like him much more. Everyone says that they are not shallow, but then why does everyone always bring up his looks when it has nothing to do with the topic?! If he was not as good looking, I doubt he would have that many fans. Since now most girls like boys who are good dancers+singers, Hero doesn't fit that description. I bet that if you took Hero's voice and switched it with someone less popular like Max, people would still favor Hero over everyone and say it was "based on talent." People who think he is the most talented is just blind by biasness. Yep, you are so right! Shindong is probably one of Super Junior's most talented members, but he gets no attention because he is chubby and not as good looking as the others. Same with KyuHun (?), he is probably their best singer but he is still not as popular as Donghae or Siwon because they are better looking. ... I do think that he would be a great solo singer, but he's not that good of a performer. He doesn't have as much stage presence as say, U-Know, Micky or Xiah. Just because YOU really like him on stage doesn't mean everyone will. You can say the same thing to me, but there's a reason why Hero doesn't go alone onstage or perform by himself a lot, and it's because he doesn't have enough stage presence or have the ability to make the crowd entertained for two hours. If he had a solo concert, sorry to say this, but it would be pretty boring. Since we all know he wouldn't dance, and he would just sing slower rock/r&b songs and ballads. I love ballads, but not two hours worth of it. At least the other boys can multitask better. If everyone says that they prefer his talent over his looks, then how come there are other equally (If not better) singers out there who get so much less attention and praise. Park Hyo Shin, HowL, Eru, the guys of SG Wannabe, Kangta, etc. They're all probably on the same level (although a few are much better), but yet they receive such little praise. I know that it's probably because their voices are not so "angelic" and appealing, but they also have one thing in common...They aren't as good looking as Hero. Funny, right? I gess talent really isn't what people all want these days. 50% looks 30% talent 20% personality This post has been edited by SHE11x.: Jan 7 2008 10 35 PM |

oh ok i guess i didnt really understand what u were saying up there. Yeah see how most of the topics for hero is mainly at his looks fan girls usually say "omg hes so hot!" instead of "oh wow hes so talented!" Honestly i started to notice him cuz of his looks too so i cant be dissing other girls who are like this but i got over that whole hes SO HOTT phase and now i can see it as a kinda negative. cuz hes getting all this attention for his looks. people actually starts to ignore his flaws and think of him as a GOD. I mean everyone has flaws but to his fans he has none which is completelt not true. AS for ur stage presence thing that u mentioned up there... i agree with u hero isnt a very good dancer he mostly just stands on stage sings and does some random things... but poeple cant see those random things becuz their all looking at his face. i think its cuz this world has turned so shallow becuase of the standard for stars. When ur famouse u have to be good looking so everyone starts to focus of that. just look at some of the stars today.. they are lead in movies even though they cant act just because they are good looking. Or has lots of media attention. |

I don't think he was ever 2nd best, and he didn't injure his leg THAT bad so it didn't effect his dancing too much. i can't agree with u that JS & YC are more popular in Korea than JJ because they're more talented thna him . Remember that YC & JS have already been popular since debuting . YC's songs weren't come out and JS's singing skill wasn't outstanding compared to JJ's then . But if u watch their old vids , u will see that YC, JS & YH talked & joked more than JJ & CM . JJ was cold , shy and silent . That's why he & CM had fewer fans than the rest . Now he's openner & funnier & I make sure he gets more fans than before . What I want to say here is that each of us has many reasons to love some member & not that Kor. fans have better taste than us international fans .
Hidden Text:
And LeeJun Ki is famous thanks to a blockbuster movie and a high-rated drama as well as his talent . Acting is hard to success but if u're successful , u will be BIG ! Compare an actor with a singer ? Lol it's impossible!. i love JJ the most , but I have to admit that he is overrated . But it seems that u are underating him . He's not the best at singing live ( it's definitely JS ) but his voice and his singing skill are still good enough to deserve one of the best singers in DBSK . His technique is not easy to reach and in DBSK , there is just JS or may be CM that can be compared with him . He's overrated because of his looks . Looks is a bonus that who has it will be easier to win all hearts . There are many singers good-looking and can't sing but they're still famous . Luckily , JJ has talent . So he is NOT WAY overrated . Dancing ? He can't dance well like JS or YH but he still knows how to dance and it's not bad . Composing ? Is it too fast to say that he can't compose ? I read an article and JJ said that he was composing many songs but just a few of them were finished . SO let's wait until we heard his songs and it's not too late to estimate how much he is overrated . *****I'm defending JJ but not biased****** QUOTE I do not care when the fans pick him that much, but when they say he is sooooooo amazing and perfect when he is not is when it gets annoying. The main reason why JJ is overrated is because of his fans ,I admit . But does it need to sound too harsh ??? All of us are like that ?? Are u bashing us ??? Lol they're just the minority of JJ's fans in a small forum and plz don't indentify them with us , the REAL fans of JJ & DBSK . We know where JJ is , what he's good and what he needs to improve . Lolz I'm really getting annoyed right now . The last sentence is unacceptable QUOTE Park Hyo Shin, HowL, Eru, the guys of SG Wannabe, Kangta, etc. They're all probably on the same level (although a few are much better), but yet they receive such little praise. I know that it's probably because their voices are not so "angelic" and appealing, but they also have one thing in common...They aren't as good looking as Hero. Do u just rely on the the forums like soompi to conclude like that ? Don't let the things on the internet effect on u . Those artists receive many respect from audience although they aren't loved like crazy . This post has been edited by SHE11x.: Jan 7 2008 10 36 PM |

Babigrl, yep, exactly like you just said. I think it's great to have hot singers who are also talented, but when one's look overshadows their talent, it's a bad thing. I'm sure it's not only us who notice that being so damn good looking has become a negative now.
It's always, "I LOVE HERO CUZ HE IS THE MOST HOTTEST MAN EVER!" Why can't they like him for his talent more? I mean, it's ok to be shallow and just like someone for their looks, but they call themselves DBSK fans, too. If all they do is stare at Hero's precious face and see all the other members as inferior, does that really mean they are a fan of DBSK? Hero is NOT PERFECT, but yet so many people think so. Everything he does gets magnified 1,000,000x more than it should! He can just smile and people will clap and cheer for him cuz he knows how to smile He really doesn't have any stage presence, not compared to the three I mentioned and that's why I don't think he'd be good alone. He needs the others to be there backing him up in order to not look awkward. His ballads are good, but a career cannot only be based on ballads alone, especially when you come from an idol band that's known for many types of songs. If people are shallow and like him only for his looks, ok, fine, but don't lie about it later and say that's not the reason. I know lots of Hero fans who are not DBSK fans and I am ok with that because they say they are just Hero fans. The Hero-only fans who claim to love all the boys equally are the ones who are sometimes annoying. All they ever do is talk about him, put up pictures of him, talk about how hot and amazing he is, how funny he is, etc. How does that make you a DBSK fan if all you do is talk about Hero? Ciarain, how could Micky be more popular when he came to Korea six months before his debut? It doesn't matter if they were a little more popular before their debut anyway, three years is enough to show who you are and make it to the top. If he is really THAT special, then I am sure the Korean fans would have noticed by now. Micky and Xiah ARE more popular, and talent may not be what it's also about, like I said. Micky, U-Know and Xiah talk the most and have more open personalities, that is why people in Korea like them more. Which is why I said that Hero won't be as successful because of his cold personality. I do agree that Micky is overrated in Korea in terms of popularity, but not for his talent. Micky is popular basically to all the girls in Korea, they can be old ladies or little girls, they all like him because of his image. I am more critical about Hero's talent because it's shot all over the place as if he is some kind of phenomenon. He is just a good singer, not amazingly brilliant like some fans put him out to be. I know that Micky can't sing live well at all, but he's not overrated in forums for his talent. If anything, he's underrated for his talent. Don't you think it's funny how Hero is the best looking one so he's the most popular, but Micky isn't the best looking (To most people, I think he's very handsome) so he's the least popular internationally. Don't try to say that looks don't play a HUGE role in peoples' likings. The person said that Hero's image was not "in" in Korea, which is why I brought up Lee Jun Ki. I know that he is known for the big movie, but in turn his feminine look was also embraced. Which means that Hero's image would be embraced, too, since he is the epitome of femininity. If Hero is not overrated, then how come people always seem to mention only his name when others ask for lists of good singers? I mean, tehy all say that Hero is this amazing singer, when Xiah is actually the better technical singer. Tell me that's not overrated right there. Why would you only mention Hero when Xiah is known as one of the best singers in Korea? Not only is it me who thinks xiah is a better singer, many other artists believe that he is one of the top, too. Such as Kangta. I've mainly read compliments from other artists about Xiah and not so much about Hero, so that obviously means that the fans put him up too high and give him too much credit. No, I do not want DBSK to break up, I just said that because I saw lots, and lots, and lots of people who favored Hero over the whole group. If those fans are going to be ugrateful and give all the credit of DBSK's fame to Hero, then why not give them what they want? All they do is talk about how great Hero is, but don't mention how great DBSK is. If they want just Hero, then they should get him to prove that DBSK works as a group and NOT through just one member. Again, I am not generalising all Hero fans, just the ones who adore him like he's the son of God. The ones who prefer him over the whole group, the ones who pick him as the best regardless of topic, the ones describe him like God specially made him and sent him to earth as a gift to all of us fans. THOSE are the fans that this thread was targeted towards. I know a lot of Hero fans who love the group equally, they are prefectly fine, but the ones who lie and say they love DBSK but never choose to acknowledge the other boys are the ones who should read this. Trust me, it's not actually the minority as you say, it's probably 60% psycho fans who love Hero the most, and about 40% DBSK&Hero fans. Which is still the majority. I have been to about all the big DBSK forums and even small ones, and they are almost all the same. Like you said, those artists do receive recognition from critics and other artists, but recognition doesn't equal success. Someone could be the best singer in the world, have amazing dancing skills, have a lovable personality, but if the fans don't buy his/her cds, then he/she is a failure. I know that Hero is a superb singer, amazing even, but not amazing enough to get all the praise that he gets. I know that if I started a "*Insert other member here* is so overrated thread" not many people would come to his defense, unless he was U-Know or something since he's also super popular internationally. |

I agree that JaeJoong is really overrated, but in forums only.
He's not more popular than the other members in Korea and Japan. In China, it seems like there's always a shift. Yunho was very popular, then it shifted to JaeJoong, and now it seems like Junsu has taken the lead (maybe b/c of the collaboration he did with Jang Ri In and because he's gotten soo handsome I always hear that JaeJoong is so pretty and hot. To be honest, I don't think he's more hot than the other members: say Yunho and Junsu. They're about the same in hotness. Aside from this overpraised annoying comments made by some die-hard fans of JaeJoong's, I have to disagree about JaeJoong's singing being overrated. JaeJoong's singing skills is very closely behind Junsu's (Junsu's the better singer in my opinion b/c he can sing live really well). His falsetto is amazing and to say that Micky sings better than JaeJoong, that's really discrediting JaeJoong's singing skills b/c Micky really needs to improve in his breathing techniques, which is the very basic in singing; however, I still prefer his voice over JaeJoong's. With that being said, JaeJoong is indeed very overrated in forums. |

I hope you don't mind me leaving some of my thoughts ^^
Hero may be overrated, but only to some extent (and that doesn't only go for him) About their dancing, I do think his leg injury made a bit of an impact on him, maybe not physically, but mentally. He's just gotten more cautious whenever he dances. I think he was able to dance much more freely in the past. But still, I think out of the five, Hero has the least interest in dancing. If they ever went solo, I doubt he'll still bother with dancing, BUT I don't think he'd be less popular going solo. Not all, but some people would listen to ballad/rock/r&b songs for two whole hours and you CAN remain popular with only those songs. I also don't agree with Hero not having as much stage presence as the rest. It's not all about dancing, singing can create a huge stage presence as well. As a solo artist, I think Hero would be able to attract a lot of whole new fans and a totally new, more mature audience. I'm not saying he would be the most successful because I'm no phychic. I think all of them have potential and would make as solo artists, but of course, it's still best if DBSK remains together ^__^ Like I said, Hero is overrated, to some extent, but I don't think it's such a big deal. There's always a most popular and a least popular. I think Hero deserves all the praises he gets. Just because the others aren't getting enough doesn't mean Hero's not worthy of it. Instead of Hero being overrated, I think maybe the others are just underrated? Honestly, I think you're being too critical on Hero and not enough on the rest, but NO, I'm not saying to start criticizing each member. |

I have the feeling that you tend to categorize fans according to the degree with which they agree with you. At the beginning of my 1st post I wrote that it's your opinion & should be respected but seems like you don't respect the others opinions. It's MY OWN OPINION, that I think JJ is the better singer, based on what I've seen & heard so far, & I don't need other big artisit or critics or Kangta to tell me that, bacuse at the end of the day every one is free to think & favour who they want. I didn't deny Xiah's & micky's talents, they r both gifted with unique voices & I also happen to like them alot. Again it's your opinion to think that xiah is the better one,BUT claiming that Mickey is more talented & a better singer than JJ is the definition of prejudice. people argue between xiah & hero all the time, but your the first to rate him better than JJ without any strong evidence. The issue of how appealing a star to the audience is a subjective matter, for me they r first & foremost singers & this is what I care for, that's why I think it's shallow to rate others as better singers just because they have open & cute personality. Also it hasn't been 3 years already, JJ had the most difficult time since their debut till now, first was the news or rumours of him being replaced in DBSK, the backlash form the fans sure would have resulted in some punishment or something for him, later it was his long injury, which we still don't know the circumstances of, during this difficult time he came to know the truth about his adoption, then was the DUI & the suspension form their activites, later in 2006 Yunho was poisoned, & a few days later his adoption case became public & people were dissecting his family & parents all over the place. I believe he is starting to be more open & confident about himself. Just to correct your info JJ auditioned to SM in the summer of 2001 & they debuted December 2003, which make his training 2 years. Xiah had vocal problem but that doesn't mean he didn't fet professinal music training, I agree that training is not everything, both Xiah & JJ have the voices that improved with their training, but again both r still experimenting & trying differnet geners of music, so far JJ seems the most versatile, except maybe rap & hip hop. No offence to Micky fans, I like him a lot & love the quality of his voice, but he is also not perfect & seems to have problems during live songs, but sill he is also experimenting & improving, & honestly out of the five of them I think he is the least talented. Maybe it's a bit of a wild guess who would be the more successful as a solo singer, but out of all 5 JJ would sure not be the worst he will be the 1st or second. Your generalizing seeing that if JJ can't compose then he is musically not gifted. They r all still learning, Xiah seems to be ahead but that can't guarantee quality, Because we haven't heard to all their composing to compare fairly. As for his dancing I admit it is differnt that what it used to be, I believe he didn't have enough time to heal & recover, that's why it still bothers him physically & as someone else mentioned psycologically. But overall he is a decent dancer among the group so no problems there. I don't mind him doing these things, he came along way to be more confident & open, he is hot & know that alot of fans admire him for that as well, if being cute & dorky would enable other people to see him in a different light then why not? I'll end this by saying that your hate for some of his fans is making you generalize & is also leading to underrate JJ himself. I think your main issue is with these types of fans but not JJ. Cheers |

I agree that Junsu is a great singer, but to say MICKY is more talented than JJ, has got to be a JOKE. Micky is the most popular in Korea not bc he's 'very talented' as you have said, but bc he showed his personality at the start when they had just debuted. JJ was always a really warm and funny person, but in front of the camera, for the first two years, he was quite cold, and that's why ppl in korea didn't warm up to him. Micky has a nice voice, but his singing skill is DEF not even CLOSE to being in the same league as JJ's. For one thing, he doesn't have half the range, nor power. And also he does not 'dance very well'
You say we're bias, but aren't you a hypocrite, you're so bias yourself, so bias you refuse to even see sense. This post has been edited by honeycomb1010: Jul 16 2007 4 22 AM |

Even though I dislike DBSK and the undeserved attention they get for just being a boy band... I have to admit... Hero has a lovely voice and dances quite well.
He's definitely not like... smokin hot though... but maybe that's just because I'm not attracted to feminine looking guys. But then again, all idols tend to be overrated... that's why they're idols. People are often (not always, but most of the time) drawn to these individuals for their looks and tend to praise them like they're gods or something. Honeycomb, where is your evidence that I am not seeing sense?
I am not biased because I walked into DBSK not adoring one member already over the other like so many of you are. I still don't have a favorite, I like them all the same, but just because I am more critical of one member does not mean I dislike him. Or if I praise one member more that means I favor him. Who says you can't compliment or criticize people you feel neutral about? Funny how it's all the Hero fans who only thinks he is not overrated, funny, huh? It's because most of them appreciate one factor more than the other and make him seem like a God. Where is people getting all this "Micky is a better singer" from? Never ONCE have I stated that Micky was a better singer, but he is more talented. He may not be the best vocally or dancer, but he's more balanced along with his composing and lyric writing. THAT is more talent than someone who simply sings good. Yes, he is one of the weakest dancers, the three weakest dancers are Hero, Micky and Max, but they're both still better and at least freestyle a bit (Max and Micky). And they don't forget dance steps either. I have also never said that Hero was a bad composer, I said that he probably wasn't as good as Xiah or Micky, and that's probably the truth. Why else would SM only record those two's songs then? BECAUSE THEY ARE GOOD SONGS. Mind&soul, oh no, I DO respect opinions from everyone, but when someone writes an opinion based on her own likings, that's when it turns sour. No evidence to prove that Xiah is a better singer? There's plenty of clips out there that proves that he is most consistent. Even non-DBSK fans praise Xiah for being the best singer because he has MORE RANGE and BETTER CONTROL over his voice. I don't know where you have been watching all your DBSK clips, but if you paid closer attention you would notice that Hero does not make consistent performances, nor is he able to echo the songs as closely as the recordings. Whereas xiah is known for giving almost perfect performances everytime (which is why some people can't tell when he is lipsyncing or not), and not only that, his ability to dance and sing VERY WELL at the same time already puts him up the ladder. I guess it's just me, the majority of people, critics and other artists who think that Xiah is the better technical singer, but you are free to think however you like. It was his fault he "got caught drinking" isn't it? No one told him to drive, so he gets what everyone else would get. Hero shouldn't get any special treatment, so the backlash is expected. If any of the other boys got into trouble, I would say the same thing. They are celebrities, but humans too so they should be more responsible for their actions. Hero's personal issues have nothing to do with his popularity, in fact, it should gain him more sympathy votes. He's having a hard time, we all know that, but who else in the world isn't suffering equally or worse? Celebs shouldn't let personal problmes effect their performances. Yes, he auditioned for SM in 2001, but he was under training in another company. So basically he got the same amount of training. Okay, so he had vocal problems for TWO years and was told to sing, that doesn't mean anything? I guess that's why he is the better dancer then. I am so tired of hearing people say that Hero is the most versatile in genres. He's good at rock, pop, ballad, r&b...AND??? ALL the other boys have that ability, but even U-Know and Xiah have rap and hip-hop to add to their resume ALONG with what Hero can do (Don't mention trot style, nobody sings trot anymore). Just because everyone thinks that Hero's voice sounds nice all the time, DOES NOT mean that his voice was made for a genre. It's his voice people like, and not the music itself. Hero could sing a song to someone banging a table and it his voice would still sound good, doesn't exactly mean that his voice is suited for hand-banging-on-table music. Hero has a melancholic and delicate voice, which means his voice is more suited for rock and ballad type songs, that is...If you want to use his voice to its full advantage, but eperimenting is not a problem. Like I said, I never said he didn't have an ability to compose music, I just said he was not on par with Xiah and Micky. YOU said that the others had training to learn how to compose music (Never read that anywhere), but if Hero is so special, he should be able to do it just as well. Quantity does not equal quality, but I'm going to assume that the producers/recorders at SM are smart enough to allow which of the boys' songs to release based on quality. YOU and I may not agree that the composed song is the best, but I think the producers have more credentials to say what is good/bad quality music than us. He has had over a year to heal now, that's well enough to heal. I think he got injured while rehearsing a dance routine (?), so I can see why he is a little more careful now, but that doesn't excuse you from not giving your all. I don't hate the fans, I just dislike it when it DBSK "fans" always praise him overlooking the rest, as if he built DBSK from the ground and led them everywhere. What kind of DBSK would only mention HEro as a talented artist and not take the courtesy of mentioning the rest? The majority of them (CRAZY FANS) are ungrateful, do they not think in the long run what supporting only one member would do the group? OH well, as long as the Korean fans still appreciate all the boys equally, then it really doesn't matter what international fans do since it won't affect sales in any way. PearledOrchid, yep, that's exactly what I mean. He's all over the forums, even more than DBSK sometimes. The Hero fans are usually the ones also who bring up popularity polls because they know that Hero will win. Also, it's usually the more Hero-biased fans who like to put up polls asking who is the best looking in the group. They have been done many, many, many times but yet they're still opened up becaise some fans just need the constant confirmation that Hero is the most popular and best looking. It's also known that Hero fans are more willing to bash the other members, that's why Heroshock closed. No, I don't think is singing is overrated by say...Critics, but by fans it is. I think that anyone who pays close attention and listens to all of them sing live would know that Hero is not the best singer of the group, but people always tend to mention his name only when others want to know of good singers. Lol, once again, I don't think I ever said that Micky was more talented vocally, but he is more in other areas. He doesn't have a wide range of songs since he really does sing the same style in every song. His singing sounds the same from song to song, from Balloons to Step by Step to Begin, you could mix it all together and it would just be a long song...Hero even said himself that he doesn't engross himself into the songs as the other members do, and I think that if he put more passion into his performances, he would be much, much better. Serphyx, I made the composing comments because there IS a reason why SM would choose to record Micky and Xiah's songs, there's a clear reason behind that. It'll have to do with creativity/quality. I heard the short part of his song Bisco in Couple, and it sounded good, but if it was as creative as the others, then it would've been recorded, too. Who knows, maybe one day Hero will record a self written and composed song that'll blow us all away. I agree that there are ballad singers out there who are immensely popular, but like I said...People are not going to easily accept a solo artist who came from a singing+dancing idol band, and then NOT dance for them later on. It's like U-Know going off to dance only, people are still going to expect him to do some kind of vocal work. Of course we have all the other boys sing+dance solo (Pulling it off decently), but not Hero... You are right, I am too critical on Hero, but with good reason. With all the hype and popularity tht he gets, a lot more is expected than just a gorgeous face and voice. THe reason why I strongly make my statements is cuz like I said, everywhere you go, if you see a topic of someone asking who is a good singer, most people will only put Hero and say that Xiah is "okay." Which misleads people into believing that he is the most talented in the group, but I guess if people are going to be so willing to accept just one name and not choose to look up Hero AND DBSK, then it's their loss. Rainy sunday, true, true, idols ARE indeed overrated. I wish that people would see him for his talent and not just looks. ... Again, this is not targeted towards all Hero fans, that would be ridiculous, but towards the obsessed ones who think he is a perfect God, and think that DBSK was built on his ground. I'm sure not ALL Hero fans feel that way, but there have been enough to the point that some acknowledgement should be made. A lot of supposed DBSK would choose to talk about HEro rather than the whole group and this is what I am addressing. DBSK started his career, not the other way around. Wow. I am absolutely overwhelmed with the posts in this thread. Every time when someone mentions DBSK they always give long essays. I'm not saying it's a bad thing though. In my opinion, I'm glad that you guys are giving such long essays, haha. It's always fun to read. I didn't read all of them though.
Sorry, that was a bit off topic. I'll give my rant now. I have been a DBSK fan for quite a while. I should say, several months? It wasn't until around a month ago when I became a Super Junior fan when I decided to bring up my obsession with DBSK. Because before, I acknowledge myself as a DBSK fan because I listen to their music but I was never really... interested in them. Like I said, I haven't read every post, so I might be repeating things. However, I'll give my input in Hero. First off, I have to agree with you (topic starter) saying that he's not the best dancer in DBSK. The best dancer in DBSK has obviously been given to U-know because he's always choreographed to be in the front of all the other dancers so more people can be focused on him. (I actually think this is more of a fact than opinion.) However, when it comes to singing, I have to agree with some of you guys here, he is one of the most versatile in the group. He does not have the nasal background like Xiah and his voice flows much more than U-know's or Max's. But this comes to personal preference because people like different voices. I personally enjoy listening to Hero's voice the most because in my opinion, his voice flows best, better than the other four. However, I think the reason that you might be exceptionally critical on Hero is because of his fans. I can agree that fans of a certain celebrity can really bring you to be ticked off at the celebrity. This has occured to me several times. I've found this on soompi. Although it has no reliable sources, I think some of it is true. The poster claims that Hero is 2 times more popular than the other four when it comes to calculating DBSK fans globally. I find that really true because in terms of forum posters, fanfic writers, or whatever... Hero is the hotter topic. However, in Korea, the rankings are different. The poster claimed that Micky and Xiah are the most popular, and then U-know, and lastly Hero and Max. I agree in saying that because Micky shows more of his real personality on screen, that is what brings his higher popularity in Korea in comparison with Hero, who seemed as if he and the camera are enemies, lol. I have to say this though - I find liking Hero because of his looks is not shallow at all. That is why he's an idol. That is how he gains his fans - his looks (and of course, also his talents). There's nothing wrong with liking a celebrity because of his looks because that's the whole point at why they are a celebrity. Goodness, of course, talent is also important, but do not feel ashamed that you like someone because of his looks. So to say what I think about Hero - I think he's the best-looking in the group but not my favorite. My favorites in the group are actually U-know and Xiah, and I don't know why I like them best because I think all of DBSK are cute and pretty, haha. And of course, talented. I also do not think Hero's overrated. I actually do think he sings pretty good, with decent dancing, and with decent acting. Probably this is a bit biased, because so far his fans aren't annoying me with their obsession, haha. Not yet, at least. This post has been edited by Scarlett: Jul 16 2007 5 48 AM |

Excuse me but did I ever say I only liked JJ? I actually like every member of dbsg, but I am able to admit their weaknesses. Do you know why I'm think you're a hypocrite? You seem to think, when I give valid points, I am 'attacking' the other members or sth. I'm not. Just like you I'm giving them constructive criticism. I just don't appreciate how you don't take other ppl's opinion's into account and seem to think you're right. Look JJ IS overrated, who isn't? Everybody that's VERY popular in any entertainment industry is abit. Whether they deserve that fame and recognition is another matter all together. Even though many ppl may be shallow and like his looks, hey, at least he's very talented right? He's talented and alot of determination and perseverence, that's why I admire him. He didn't get to where he is bc of money or bc he simply got picked off the street bc he was hot (like many hk and taiwanese 'singers/boybands' He may not be the best dancer, or the best composer, but his singing skills are pretty substantial imo. That's better than liking sb that has no talent right? LOL ur post was so funny. The whole clap cuz he can smile thing, that made me laugh. what u said remained me of how some fans say that they like him for his personality but how can they be so sure? I mean everytime we (as people) sees him we see him thru a camera lense. So we could just be seeing what he wants us to see. Take Ariel Lin and Joe Cheng... thier fans think of them as this perfect couple and are good friends but in reality they dont even talk off camera all that much. So i guess what im saying is that fans shouldnt use the whole he has a good personlity thing when their asked why they like Hero so much. AS for those super fans of hero.... they only sees him when they look at DBSK which is unfair... there are other guys up there too. Personally my favorote is Xiah but that doenst mean that I think he is the best cuz hes not.. all of them are all equally valuable to the band. Scarlett Yea we're all basically writing essays here lol. Yes like u said, im not critical of him (actually i do like him) i am critical of his fans. Some of them gets really outta hand and just goes beyond the fan level. I think that u thinking admring Hero for his looks alone is not shallow becuase its a norm now in the world. When you look at a celerity if they are not gorgeous u (i dont mean You literally) automatically lose some of ur interests in them. Now a days thats how the idol works... u have to ne gorgeous to be an idol or else u wouldnt be as recognized in the showbiz world. I agree with u completely in ur last paragraph. I like Xiah the most but that doesnt mean that he is the best memeber of the group. |

nice seeing you here either way i sort of have to disagree with you just SLIGHTLY lol sorry to say...but then i don't think Micky is the weakest dancer...lol if you ever watched Heroine 6, i say that JaeJoong and Micky are BOTH weak dancers lol... Kayem dear god...not your essays!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ok just kidding candieace lol I have nothing really to say but that i did read your rant and all, but then I do feel that it is unfair that you are making this thread almost close to "bashing" JaeJoong and calling him over rated all because of a few polls and discussions in Soompi. I already know some of the things that goes on in Soompi since i have an account there AND lol Kayem's lovely rants! hahaha I agree with a lot of Aspire's points in her post! dont let little stuff like that get to you. everyone is bias in there own way, they just don't know it sometimes. JaeJoong i feel worked hard to get to where he is just as YunHo worked hard to get where he is, just like YooChun, JunSu, and Changmin. Its hard being an Idol. and you can't please everyone. thought i must say that JunSu and Changmin did grow up in a full and loving house hold...*cough* lets not get into that... either way a lot of you people already said what i wanted to touch upon and i really dont want to sound like a broken record mind&soul i seen what you mean when you mentioned about micky being in live concerts but then you do have to give the guy the benifit of the doubt. he has ashtma, and in so dancing at the same time as singing, he can't really control his breathing too much. but other wise if he was standing still or sitting, you can tell he has a soothing and soft voice... i have nothing agaisnt any of the DBSK boys |

Ok, it all sounds like that Jaejoong is doing this on purpose *sigh* O_o;;
You know, this is just like a popularity poll? In the end, it's all about the fans. I mean, what you're basically saying is Junsu vs Jaejoong in voices :/ Jaejoong is overrated.. who isn't. It depends of who you're fan of. I love DBSK as whole, there shouldn't be really.. a popularity poll thing lol. Ok, I admit that Jaejoong is my fave, but that doesn't mean I neglect the rest of them? Neither does the other Jaejoong fans. I mean, look at the Jaejoong thread here? The people there are quite all-round, only more Jaejoong focused. THIS IS IDOLCULTURE~! Popularity is this hectic culture is all about looks. That feeling, I get when looking at Korea. I've got the feeling that on international forums, we're more critical towards this. Most of us favour Jaejoong because of his voice; it's angelic and it's smooth. It's nice to hear. His looks aren't that bad either, I mean, we're teenage girls or.. well just girls, we are SUPPOSED to be attracted to guys. No doubt that looks are a big factor in this. Like you said, Jaejoong is hot. Group means more persons... meaning we have more choices. DBSK itself is so versatile... =/ It's inevitable with polls. THIS IS IDOLCULTURE~! No, Jaejoong isn't the best dancer, he's the worst dancer in the group to be honest. No, Jaejoong isn't the best actor either, in fact, he's like the most funniest person ever when he's serious on screen no fake. I couldn't stop laughing when watching Vacation. No.. Jaejoong isn't the most perfect person ever. His voice isn't versatile at ALL! His voice is most suited for rock and ballads. JUNSU is the most versatile singer in DBSK, which makes him the best singer of the group. Unlike Junsu, Jaejoong hasn't got 100% control over his voice when singing live. Jaejoong is too nice (xD) to rap, damn that was funny during a-nation lol. That poor boy can't rap for life like Yunho can't rap in English for life! He hasn't got the range what Min and Su have, nope. You know.. that's why there is Dong Bang Shin Ki! They're a GROUP. Jaejoong has a talent that YooSuHoMin doesn't have and vice versa. That makes DBSK such a cool group to listen to, they know eachother and they can adjust the song to each of their talents. The reason why JJ is the lead vocal, is because JJ can make a song sound smooth during a ballad and RnB songs. Since they're singing slow songs or slightly upbeat songs most of the time, JJ is givin the biggest part of the chorus. Junsu is there to make the song perfect. His incredible control over his pitches makes the song perfect. Changmin is there to adjust the song to be powerful along with Yoochun and Yunho as baritones. Yes, DBSK is considered as an incredible vocal group. So no, JJ isn't overrated at all, you might as well say that ALL members are overrated. Each of them have their own talents, it's pity that talent is just a little factor. What you said earlier about JJ being someone one who built up DBSK. I give him credit, he DID built up DBSK. If he's not there, there wouldn't even BE a DBSK. What I'm actually saying is... 5-1=0. Everybody in DBSK should be givin credit. This is what you get from a Hardcore Jaejoong fan. Yes, even I can see his flaws xD But you have to know.. it's just a hype. There will ALWAYS someone that is overrated by his looks etc. whtvr what's bothering you. You have that in every group. That's why I'm wondering why the hell Jiro Wang is so damn popular in Fahrenheit, while I find him kinda.. iono O_o;; And Kamenashi Kazuya in KAT-TUN. |

U know what ? I think that u should change the title of the topic , it's maybe " Fans of JJ are too blind and crazy" or that sort of thing . I read all ur posts , and most of them just mentioned how overrated JJ is in forums , how selfish and shallow his fans are . U're really effected by those fans ? U are the person making a fuss about this issue and I really think that it's not worthy . U remind me of people who don't like DBSK because of Cassiopia's behaviour .
QUOTE Don't try to say that looks don't play a HUGE role in peoples' likings. Lol I admitted it already , looks is a bonus and JJ has an advantage of it . It's really easy for him to win all hearts and it's the RULE for whoever has the looks . U criticize about his popularity thanks to his looks ?Okay I will give u tons of artists who are also good-looking and less talented than him and u can criticize them freely . So u have to accept that his popularity is much more than the other members ( I don't mention on what his fans say ) although he's more or less talented than them . Also , are u sure that JS/YC/YH/CM fans just love their talent , not their looks ??? Sorry , but I have a friend and she is a fan of JS , and she loves him because he's cute and funny , and she even doesn't care about his talent . Remember DBSK is an IDOL boyband . I have to go to bed now , so I just write a lil more . I admit JJ is overrated for his fans/his looks but not for his talent . The fans who praise him as if "he were the son of God" & lower other members are not worth caring about because they're just blind and shallow & not DBSK's real fans . And if u're a real fan of DBSK , don't just bash some member because u think that he doesn't deserve what he receives . What he receives is what DBSK receives . What DBSK really receive are awards and the support of fans , not the praise. Last but not least , don't turn urself into a fortune-teller by guessing that who is more successful in the future . Shin Hye Sung's solo is more successful than Minwoo's although SHS sings ballad , and Minwoo sings hiphop , RnB and dances very well . H.O.T broke up , Kangta sang jazz while Hee Jun sang heavy metal , JTL sang hiphop , dance and Kangta also won . See ? This post has been edited by ciarain: Jul 18 2007 1 59 PM |

Whoa...I'm blinded by like...So many essays lol. This has to be one of the most thorough topics I've seen with every post filled up basically.
Candieace, you know me? Madhatter, hey, you be nice now! I know my posts can get a bit long, but they make sense, right? My head is just killing me right now. Not because it hurts or anything, but it's like...Dragging me down and I can't seem to feel awake. I'm writing this very lethargically, and I can't think straight so my essay will still have to wait. I really want to join in, too! Just remember to keep it civilized and try not to cuss each other, right now it seems a bit heated, but at least no one is going beserk...yet. ... |

YAY! LONG LONG POSTS! Agree or disagree, I love to read them all! Hahaha... I think I gotta read this one by one... *After half an hour* Ok, I read all of the posts here and am slightly Hahaha... really, really enjoying long posts like these. There are also intense moments eh? Chill! Whenever you read posts, try to think from the other person's point of views, just try not to get... 'heated up' because you see a certain points that you don't agree. I think that will save some trouble eh? Ok, I sound like a mother here... whatever! I have to agree that the 'overrated' term is used whenever there has to do with fans and the medias. It is not the celebrity being discussed him/herself. So I guess this topic is mainly discussing about how some of Jae Joong's fans are being... err... slightly irrational? Overall, overrated or not, it depends on how people see it. I agree with mind&soul here. QUOTE Whether he is overrated or underrated is also a subjective matter, But then, seriously, I don't know the defintition to 'overrated' and 'underrated', that's why I use less of these terms. You can say DBSK is overrated in Korea, but how about in Africa? Where, I think there are less people who tend to know about them? So, in the end, DBSK is overrated or underrated? Am I making sense here... There are few things which I don't agree with the topic starter... DBSK breaking up? I'm sure there are more fans out there who think that Hero is the best live singer, but no, he is not. Hmm... Sorry but I beg to differ. You can't be sure if Jae Joong IS NOT THE BEST SINGER, because there is no certain answer to this. This is not a fact. From your post, you seem to think JunSu sings the best, but not all people will agree with you, like how you disagree that Jae Joong is the best singer. Just because JunSu sounds totally the same in CDs and in live performances does not make him the best singer. I have to agree that Jae Joong sometimes loses focus on dancing when he sings. I don't know what makes this happen, but I think some people are prone to do things like this. It is just like in their nature to be able to focus on ONE thing at a time. I am not saying that Jae Joong isn't capable or what, but this is just what I noticed in live performances. I guess this is just like how seraphx said, he gets really cautious in dancing because of his injury? He doesn't want that to happen again? But then, I can't be sure if he doesn't dance with passion. Maybe he does, but it's just that his expression doesn't tell it? Hahaha... well, you know that Jae Joong's expression is rather cold and so you don't see the passion? Anyway, whatever... Hehehe... I shall come here more often to read MORE posts! YEEPEE!!! This post has been edited by Aspire: Jun 3 2008 10 33 AM |

♥Oooh-, I miss my Japanese boy♥ ![]() ![]() ![]() Group: AF-newbie |
I have to say, when I first saw DBSG Hero didn't appear to be anything special to me. I looked right past him. I only noticed him when his fangirls started ranting and raving about him. Then I began to like him. The funny thing is that I always wondered:
"What if Hero JaeJoong ever got into an accident and his face was messed up?" Well in that case, I'd have to say I don't think anyone would like him anymore. And to the whole: "Hero is really famous internationally." I really don't think he is. Yeah he is most popular in America and France(?), but DBSG's popularity as a whole is split between the five. And to go along with that, Yunho is very close in popularity with Hero (and so does Xiah). And that is pretty much only with Asian American population, not American girls as a whole. And at that, that is considering wether or not the whole Asian American population knows of their existence! Here is the breakdown of their popularity in different countries, it was posted in one of DBSG's threads: CHINA: Shared popularity between Yunho & Hero Korea: Micky is considered EXTREMELY good looking so he is 1st. Then Xiah for being cute. Hero at first did not have much popularity in Korea at first. But then as time went on, his popularity increased. However, he is still not as popular as Micky, Yunho, or Xiah. I read this several places within this forum. Japan: Max is most popular, supposedly because he looks like Jerry Yan. However as far as I understand, the Japanese population does not even know who Jerry Yan is. So this is probably not the reason for his popularity boom. America/France/overseas: Hero is because he is a pretty boy . However Yunho and Xiah are close in popularity . . . Micky and Max are not as popular. You can tell this by online polls and by their threads in forums. This post has been edited by UkNoWkNoWsU: Jul 19 2007 1 44 AM |

candieace:
People are expected to express their opinions based on what they think. Why when JJ fans express their admiration & appreciation, other members fans will come & say that we r neglecting the truth that blah blah member is better. As a DBSK fan I’ve never belittled the others right to think the best of their member. They have the right to think that their respective fav. member is the best & we have the right to express that as well. I was speaking of comparing Micky to JJ & saying that he is a better singer. As for the better artist or the more talented, what I really pay attention to is their voices & singing, so it doesn’t matter to me who the best composer or the best dancer, this won’t make you a better singer. Your reasons for thinking that Xiah is the better singer r valid as well, it’s your opinion so I won’t discuss that with you again. I was talking about his personality, that’s why I listed all that happened to him so far, to say it hasn’t been that long for him to able to express himself openly on camera. I still think his voice is the most versatile in the group, they all r young & still have the time to experiment with different genres that fits their voices the most. BTW, I only heard Xiah rap when Yunho was absent in Japan’s A-nation concert, he & hero rapped yunho’ part in rising sun, both of then performed equally so I can’t fully say that xiah is the better rapper. If some of Xiah’s songs were included in their cds, that’s good for him, I never denied that he is talented & can compose, JJ is still learning & he is in the process of composing some songs in Japan. I don’t see when JJ hasn’t given his all in dancing, I think he is dancing the best he can now, the members & management r not complaining, why should we? What about the other members’ fans like say Xiah’s fans who thinks that he is the vocal power house of the group, every member has fans that think the best of him, & favor him above the rest. Not all DBSK fans love all members equally. Some of JJ’s fans might go overboard in praising him, but the case is not exclusive to his fans. I never thought that JJ built DBSK form the ground; I think he is an integral part of the group as well as all members. I don’t think that Korean fans appreciate them equally, I think international fans r better judges for their talents, & their fandom is less biased. Cheers |

"What if Hero JaeJoong ever got into an accident and his face was messed up?" Well in that case, I'd have to say I don't think anyone would like him anymore. If Jae Joong's face is messed up, his number of fans will decrease in a major number, but I think there are still those who appreciate his talents. I mean, honestly, take his singing for example. I think he is already one of the best that I've ever heard, so that's a bonus given. If his face is really messed up, he'd probably consider being a composer? A lot of composers win over in term of song-writing talent *coughTANKcough*. This post has been edited by SHE11x.: Jan 7 2008 10 39 PM |

OMG. I HATE YOU . DIE! .. im just kidding LOL . i didnt mean that. i was just doing what an overly crazed obsessive psycho fangirl would do. i dont think id ever see a thread like this in my life.....beware of crazy ass fangirls O_O
I think you can tell im madly in love with jaejoong. to be honest. when i first saw DBSK. I was totally attracted by his looks. who wouldnt right?. I think its normal for girls to be shallow and to favor the better looking guys but only to a certain point. I dont think he is over-rated. He does have a really nice voice and can sing really well. People can argue but its true. His vocals are amazing and it blends so well with the other members. It is just that girls get so blinded by his hotness and charm that they totally forget about the talent. A lot of people assume that if a celebrity is TOTALLY hot and good looking they wont have much talent. There are a lot of fangirls out there that are so blinded and so shallow that they always say "Hero is so hot!". I go on soompi a lot and i think fans arent as biased anymore and Jaejoong doesn't win all the polls. I seriously truly respect him as a person and as an artist. He is really professional and gives his all to everything and he really respects people and loves all his fans. He really deserves all the success him and the rest of DBSK had received. He worked his ass to be the singer he is today. Yunho, Yoochun and him have lived pretty horrible lives. The media already shows how funny and dorky and stupid he is and it definitely gives him an advantage. I think DBSK really is a unified group and every member has something to contribute that makes DBSK special. As much as i love him, i know he isnt perfect. He cant sing as versatile as Junsu or dance as good as Yunho. He cant act if his life depended on it, but he has aspects of him that the rest of the members dont have that makes him stand out. I already went over my "OMG HE IS SO GOOD LOOKING I LOVE HIM EVEN THOUGH HE SUCKS AT SINGING/DANCING" phase. I've followed DBSK since last year and i loved them ever since. I practically love every member equally, but its kinda hard. I think international fans are much better at judging and being equal. The Korean fans are more sided with their favorite member. I dont think you should say "I think most fans love him for his looks" because there are MANY good looking people out there and a lot of girls dont like pretty boys and there are different preferences. A lot of people seriously like him for his talent and personality. And there are pretty hardcore crazy Jaejoong fans but you cant control/blame them. At first i thought he would be such an ass, but later i found him to have a good personality. People have their own opinion but this is what i think. As a lover of Jaejoong i dont think i was too biased LOL. This post has been edited by 01S0ULL: Aug 17 2007 2 10 AM |

Time for an edit (like a million months after the fact) just because I can. I think that only a few select fans are annoying and irritating. Yes, some people at Heroshock fan-cafe were very very very creepy and annoying and hateful... but note: the MODS of Heroshock (the people who started the fan cafe) agreed to close Heroshock down because of the members scandalous behavior. Just like how many Cassiopeians and DBSK fans protest that you can't all lump ALL of DBSK's fans and Cassiopeians as crazy psychos based on the crazy psycho stalker !FANGIRLS! out there... it's similar. You can't group all people who are fans (or favor Jaejoong mildly more) of Jaejoong (or Hero) as thinking them all to be psychotic fangirls who will do anything for their oppa. And if you honestly HONESTLY ask me? I still think that Jaejoong is more popular abroad than he is in Korea. He and Changmin (Max) were the least liked in Korea during their debut. Personally, I think this has to do with the image that SM Entertainment wanted them to project. Xiah Junsu as the wholesome boy-next-door; Micky as the hot American I think that Jaejoong DOES get a lot of credit for his looks, but if you ask me, during their debut, I thought he wasn't that good looking at all. I think out of all of them, Micky and Uknow were probably the most attractive. Changmin was still a gangly kid who didn't quite grow into his long limbs yet; Junsu and Jaejoong both had big poofy hair that was kinda O_O... etc. I don't think a lot of his fans are completely blinded by his looks, but in terms of singing and such, I will admit, I think among them, Jaejoong has the most BALANCED range. Junsu is a beautiful singer, but he's not suited to sing the majority of the harmonies that Jaejoong gets because Jaejoong has a very very mellow and in-between voice that serves as a perfect medium to deliver and balance the other irregularities in his members voices. SM Entertainment and their production team was well aware of that and structured DBSK just so so that they would have a perfect middle voice to balance out everyone elses very unique voices. But talent is also subjective, so there's absolutely no reason to base things upon that. It's pointless, argumentative, extremely biased, and just kinda loops around in endless circles because at the end of the day: I like what I like, and you like what you like. There is no point in me trying to change your preferences and I wouldn't really want you to change your's either as long as you don't criticize and/or bash me for what I like and dislike. Plus, for the online voting thing? Uh, yeah... I mean, if you've ever gone to any forum/portal/blog for an idol/star you'll find them being all like "VOTE FOR ____!!! AND YOU CAN VOTE AS MUCH AS YOU WANT SO KEEP ON VOTING!!!!" No one considers the opponents, not really. I mean, it's unfortunate, but it's true. You WILL get fangirls who will just vote blindly. I always trying to give as much justification and be as fair as possible whenever I do vote and think about it... but the majority of fangirls don't and they just want to see their oppa win. *sigh* But it's really not a big deal. Online polls, awards, figureheads, trophies, sales figures... etc.. don't mean crap. As long as you like your idol/singer/star and will continue to support him/her... then whatever, right? Oh, and btw: I see a lot of "Jaejoong is SO hot and sexy!" and "I love Jaejoong!" but I usually don't see a lot of, "I love Jaejoong because he is so hot and sexy!"... there's a disinction to be made there because I say that a lot. I DO think Jaejoong is teh smex (right up there with Gackt who is just... too hot to be human which is okay cause he's So don't rush and jump to conclusions that all Jaejoong fans automatically love him ONLY because he's hot. That generally tends to be #3 or #4 (or even later) on the list... or sometimes it doesn't appear at all. This post has been edited by nanshi: Dec 24 2007 2 02 AM |

^ Whoa...Nanshi, I haven't seen you around here in like...Forever lol. Your essay is a bit short compared to some others, haha.
Joyce, you know who's opinion I "love" to hear? I'd love to see what that pinkberry Uruchai would say about this, she'd be furious xD! Haha, too bad she's not around AF or it would be hilarious to see her enraged essay. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you're like...Friends with her, but I'm not, so I can say anything She's always in the k-celeb area, too, and she usually only replies in Jae topics xD, I don't think she's ever replied in a Su topic before...Oh well, this isn't about Uru -whom I despise- so I'll stop here. I'd just like to hear from a super crazy biased JaeJoong obsessed fangirl -such as Uru- try to come here and defend herself when she is the epitome of biased fangirls lol. ... BTW, where has the girl who started this topic run off to? She hasn't replied in a while...I think you guys all scared her off xD. I still haven't put in my two cents, but mehhh...Still too lazy to write up something long, I gotta go finish my drawings! ... This post has been edited by Kayem: Aug 17 2007 2 00 AM |

lol...after carefully reading this, i have to say that i dont agree with wat u said.
well yeah, i am a jaejoong fan, nd i like him the best! but that doesnt mean i like him only because of his looks or watever u said... first of all, jaejoong's popularity varies from country to country! just to give some info, in korean, he one the the least popular member in the group. thats why he had lot of hard time after debut. most koreans dont like his looks, his voice, and his personality. there were also rumors about how SM is gonna kick him out of the group becuz of that! nd in japan, micky nd changmin used to be more popular than him! his fame developed thru time, a time to know him, to understand him, to watch him grow...not just thru appearance okay? appearance may attract ppl nd give them a a good impression, but thats not everything! u said that we fans think he is perfect! oh no...i dont think he's perfect at all! not even close! jaejoong is not perfect, he has soooooo many weakness nd shortcomings. oh my gosh there are so many i can say...he's not a good dancer, he often forgets his moves on stages, he's not the best vocal (technically) in the group, he's too quiet in front of the camera which makes him hard to be noticed by audience, he's poor, he didnt have as of a education as the other members, he's immature/weird (= =++), personally he is not my type either cuz i lean toward more "innocent" guys nd he is too much of a playboy, but at least he's honest with it. haha i hope he's perfect so more ppl can be attracted by him, but unfortunately, he's NOT! u may ask, since he's so NOT perfect, then why do ppl still like him? well, thats because i have seen the goodness in him nd understand why he's not perfect! he might not be a good dancer, but he works hard and tries to do the best he can, thats why he broke his leg! he's quiet in front of the camera, thats because he tries to protect himself from any kinds of harm after his experiences of moving to seoul in a young age. he didnt have a good education because he has a dream, a dream to sing on a big stage like HOT. u might think its silly, but we all have silly dreams, then why blame him for it? he's poorest in the group, he has 8 sisters nd 4 parents, but he never cries for that because he knows that he is a man! haha, nd yeah, he had his first kiss in middle school, although i dot like that fact, theres nothing wrong with it! how many ppl can say that they never liked or kissed anyone until college? there are soooo many stars who say that their first kiss was when they were 18...haha...thats just stupid cuz its obvious that they lied! they have good looks (thats why are stars) nd they say that they never kissed until 18? do u believe it? his voice, lol, i love his voice, period! thats one of the most important factors for why i like him. u think the other members are more talented than him, well, that depends on wat kind of talent u r talking about right? yunho is more talented in dancing, micky is more talented in rap, junsu is more talented in singing in live perf (well, now i think jaejoong is equally good), nd changmin is more talented in high notes! everyone has his own talents, thats wat makes DBSK so unique nd so amazing, but everyone also has his weakness~ nobody is perfect, just like jaejoong isnt either! jaejoong has charms in his own way nd he's just as special as all the other members! u dont like him, well, thats ur opinion. opinions differ from perspectives! if u dont like him, theres nothing wrong with it! but i do not like the way u accuse everybody else for liking him only for his look! u dont hear the beauty of his voice, doesnt mean everybody cant! i have never said that i will like him forever because i know i prob wont! celebrities never last forever, their fame all vanish thru time no matter how successful they are. this nevertheless cant be the reason to just stop liking ppl or why would celebrities always have their fans? i like jaejoong, i hope he become famous, i hope he become sucessful, i hope he achieve his goals, i hope he fulfill his dreams, nd hope he live a good life! thats all there are. i know someday i wont be liking him as much as i do now, but i will always remember that i have like this person name jaejoong in my life. if u think thats bs, well then sry i wont have the time to sit here nd try to persuade u into believing me! u have ur views nd i have mine, im just trying to tell u my opinions as a fan. i have said too much...this is just my personally view...if u dont like it, then ignore it! nd one last comment, if u dont understand something, stop trying to think that everyone else is just like u. u r not the standard for wat is right nd wat is wrong, so there are no rights for u to accuse ppl for their tastes nd their opinions. cant understand it? then ignore it nd go on with ur life!^____^ This post has been edited by blahblueblur: Aug 17 2007 7 04 AM |

blahblueblur: wow. and i thought my rant was extremely long haha. your opinion was well said. kinda funny, especially when you were talking about his flaws. but then i was totally touched when you were praising him.
Kay: OMG same here. i was wondering how Uru would react if she saw what Candieace said O__O . she'd probably blow . *sighs* i kinda see what you mean. today i was on soompi and Mabe posted the vocals only links for 'Love in the Ice' and 'Just for One Day' and she only asks for the ripped version for 'Just for One Day' . i dont know. i find her kind of weird in a way. but i dont hate her or anything. XD but she is really JOONGIFIED!!!!!!!!! i wonder where this Candieace went. maybe we scared her away ><" This post has been edited by 01S0ULL: Aug 18 2007 3 17 AM |

^ Seriously Joyce, I'm glad that even you agree with me lol. She is like psychotic about it, she once wrote about me, but referred to me as 'some girl', and I was like ,"Just say my name biatch..." She'd probably come here all crazy and fumed, and then write this looooooong reply about why Candieace is an 'idiot' for not seeing how perfect Jae is. I mean, someone could write about Junsu as well, but I'm not like...'In love' with Junsu to the point where I'd deny any faults in him. Uru only talks about Jae if you notice, but it's definitely okay to do that (everyone talks about their favorite, too), it's the fact that she tries to seem like the perfect DBSK fan when she isn't. "I'll just post pictures of Jae today...I guess these pictures of Jae will have to do for today...Look at how cute Jae looks in this magazine scan...Nothing to share except these Jae pictures..." She writes it all innocently when in fact we KNOW it's what she wants to do. Haha, I really hope I'm not as bad as her xD. I don't just bring up Junsu randomly though, I only reply to people who reply to me about Junsu. So if they're talking about him, I do, too. Either that, or I complain about his hair
Lol, yeah, I saw that as well...I just rolled my eyes because I kinda expected her to do that (only talking about Just For One Day). I wonder how her room/pc looks like, I'd be afraid for Jae's health I didn't scare Candieace away! I didn't say anything that would intimidate her lol. You guys have said basically everything I wanted to as well. I agree with her to some extent and I agree with you guys as well, so no need to re-write everything up xD. ... It's pretty intense in here...chill out, people!!
I just thought I should point out my opinion. JJ and Junsu are both great singers with nice tone and amazing skill. I wouldn't compare between the two coz I like both of them. The things that I like about them varies from one another. Like, I absolutely love JJ's tone and amazed by Junsu's skill and ability to sing at high note. Probably JJ is overrated due to he fact that he's like, freakin H.O.T and Junsu not as pretty as him. Nonetheless, Junsu has his own charm and he doesn't has to be pretty to be charming. The whole thing is just a matter of preference. Some girls likes JJ better, some prefer Junsu. I don't think the only reason JJ is famous is because he's hot, coz he definitely got the talent. So maybe he's not a better dancer when it comes to freestyle dance compared to Junsu, but he's not too shabby either. Not everyone who said they like JJ thinks that Junsu is no good. Absolutely not. Many JJ fans acknowledge Junsu's talent, and vice versa. Even if Junsu's the best singer in the world, that doesn't mean everyone likes him. Like many people here said, the popularity varies from country to country, Maybe the ones that joined forums and such are mostly JJ's fan, but that doesn't mean Junsu's not popular. Because from what i know, so many people are amazed by Junsu's voice. Even my friend who doesn't know what Junsu looks like said that she loves Junsu's voice. That shows that looks is not necessarily the reason behind someone's popularity. I'm not sure if I still like JJ if his face is ruined, but I will still think that his voice is amazing. It's just that maybe I won't do fangirling anymore If I were to compare between Junsu and JJ's live performance, I would say that Junsu always sounds as good as in CDs while jj sounds a bit shaky sometimes, but he's definitely improving from time to time. I don't care if he's not the best vocal in DBSK coz he's working hard to improve himself. And Junsu definitely has more stamina than JJ during performance and does not wear out fast. Both JJ and Junsu always give us this feeling on what the song is about hough we don't understand a word they're singing. They sing from the heart and delivers the meaning of the song very well, although they have different ways of delivering it. After all, they have different tones. JJ got the girls' attention because he's pretty and mysterious. Usually, these characteristics attract someone's attention. Then only they start listening to DBSK's song. Junsu on the other hand, maybe overlooked at first. But as soon as he starts singing, all eyes (or ears!) are on him. As much as I love JJ, I won't say he's perfect, coz he's faaaar form being Mr. Perfect. But that's what I like about him. His trademark "3-beat" laugh, dorky attitude, his wanting to stuff a watermelon inside a balloon (which is adorably ridiculous)...that's what not just me, but most of his fans like about him. Same with Junsu. He's kinda dorky as well, king of lame joke, loves Ohaji or ohayi (or whatever the name is) gag too much though no one really understand it... To end my essay, I would like to say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE JJ's voice but I also acknowledge and appreciate Junsu's talent..
