Anthony Wong Chau Sun yesterday worked on SAU SUN (TRIMMING) and talked about KUNG FU HUSTLE (GONG FU). "Film has a market, depending on whether you are talented or not. If you don't have any talent then stop screaming all day about the poor market and trying to put the blame somewhere else. I thought you are talking about KUNG FU SOCCER's success. This series has made me puke. It's long and boring, full of garbage and no content. The 40 episodes should be shrunk down to two. The two episodes should make a lot of money on VCD sales." As for the Metro Radio and Radio Hong Kong's war of words over singers, he said, "The entire music scene only have ten singers? Blaming others for not being able to get anyone, I can say that Lee Ka Shing has made all the money. (Andy) Hui Chi On and (Deanie) Ip Tak Han's song becomes a solo song? Did Ip Tak Han cross On Jai?"

He's a great actor. While I'm not a huge fan when he does comedy I like it when he does more serious roles. Example Johnnie To's "The Mission"

He's NOT a good looking actor, but that does not mean he's a bad actor.
You'd have to be pretty shallow to say he's a bad actor because he's ugly.

Anthony goes Hollywood

FOLLOWING in the footsteps of Asian stars Gong Li, Datuk Michelle Yeoh, Chow Yun-Fat and Jackie Chan, Hong Kong’s most celebrated character actor, Anthony Wong, is set to star in his debut Hollywood feature entitled The Painted Veil.

Singapore’s The Straits Times, quoting the International Herald Tribune, says that Wong, 44, will play a key character in the story as a Chinese soldier.

The period drama starring Edward Norton and Naomi Watts is based on W. Somerset Maugham’s novel of the same name and will be shot in China.

In his typically direct manner, Wong described how the American deal came about. “They came to me. I read the script, and it’s very easy. I asked: ‘Why me?’”

When he was told that they needed “a great actor”, the actor replied: “Okay, lah.”

In an interview with the IHT, he says he has been in some 280 movies and that the bulk of the work, except for about 50 titles, is “crap”.

He says he took on these movies to pay rent and support his wife, two sons and his mother, who raised him after his British father abandoned them when he was four.

“I’m a survivor. I did a lot of crap movies. It’s like I battled in the jungle and still I survived.”

Love all the movies he acted in. I just find his effortless way of acting is really something a lot of actors still fail to catch. In fact, many movies in my opinion increase in quality due to him. However, he sure has lots of news on commenting other actors!

Anthony Wong's Suprise Bday Party!

Last Friday while advertising Initial D in Japan, Anthony Wong celebrated his 44th birthday. His two godsons, Jay Chow, Edison Chen and friend, Shawn Yue held a surprise birthday party.

At the party, true reports say that Jay and Edison were singing happy birthday very loudly while pushing out a cake on a trolley. After accepting Edison and Shawn’s present, Jay gave his godfather a present, which is worth 200 000 yen. Edison said that he will be giving Anthony another present once they get back to Hong Kong. Shawn’s present was a sapphire ring. Anthony says, “After having my house robbed, this is my favourite ring!”

His acting is superior, as a cop most of the time he really brings out the whole justice feeling which most expect from a good cop. His acting shows the most when he is trying to lead to something like his face shows no emotion but his words have other meanings to it?

Ever since the hit TVB series "Triumph in the Skies" raised popularity for the cast and receiving good receptions and reviews, it seems that TVB is filming a sequel early next year, but with a change in the casting. It is a pity that Francis Ng will not be taking part in the sequel, due to not compromising an agreement. Earlier, veteran actress Liza Wang confirmed that she will participate in the sequel, in which outdoor filming will also take place in Moscow and England. In addition, the S4 members Ron Ng, Bosco Wong, Sammul Chan, and Kenneth Ma will be filming the sequel. As for Alex Fong Chung Sun who earlier confirmed to film this series, turned down the role due to his schedule conflict.

With much arrangements and casting, the producer and executives contacted actor Anthony Wong will be taking on the leading role in "Triumph in the Skies II," thus the sequel will have new roles added in. The sequel is expected to have forty episodes, in which fifteen episodes are filming outdoors in Moscow and England. It seems to be a conflict with Anthony's schedule as he would be filming another movie. Anthony says that he cannot film this series due to schedule conflict, but he will be looking forward to film a series sometime in the future. Thus, no actor is confirmed for the leading role yet, while Anthony is still in consideration.

Amazing talent and one of HK cinemas few shining lights, even in a bad movie he puts in a quality performance.

Sadly many teen fans dont appreciate real acting ability but Anthony Wong is a true acting master class in action.
