ABSCBN Talents vs GMA Talents, which talents are better? Options

ok...which for you,guys, networks produced better talents? ang ABS CBN o GMA?

for me, ABS CBN...kasi they try to use all their talents sa mga shows nila and i believe they are offering workshops for them. unlike GMA na same old talents lang ang ginagamit kaya over xposed ang karamihan ng mga talents nila at nasa bahay nalang ang iba.

sa acting nasa DOS na lahat: Piolo,Judy Ann, John Lloyd, Claudine,Jericho, Sarah, Rica, Bea, Kristine etc...etc..

sa singing naman nandun sa kanila sina Sheryn Regis, Sara G., Rachelle Ann, Christian B.,Vina M., dami dami pa...

Im for ABS-CBN TALENTS!

Its bcoz abs-cbn shows the real talents of their stars, they let all their talents time to shine unlike gma they mainly focus on one or two actors/actress only like richard guttierez they always give him the spotlight & honestly gma has a lot of stars thats even more talented than richard but they are just not given the time to show their talent & im pretty sure if angel didnt transfer to abs-cbn they would only focus richard/angel loveteam which i really hated i dont hate angel but they just dont look together id rather pick angel with dennis.

ACTING-definitely abs-cbn talents more talented & also they have the looks too.

SINGING-duh! obviously Abs-cbn talents,they have the champions! What more can you ask for their singing are great high notes peace of cake not like gma's singing stars no offence but most of them are trying too hard.

I'm gonna say ABS-CBN because im biased.

The only names i ever heard from GMA are Angel Locsin, Richard Guttierez, Dennis Trillo, Mark Herras and such but what do they have going for them besides looks?

On the other hand, ABS-CBN gives big breaks to their talents. The drawback, if your not "in" sa masa, then dont expect to have a project. But really... ABS-CBN artistas from their singers and actors, they are by far better and probably more popular since TFC has been known for quite a while now.

ABS-CBN defiinitely...almost all great and famous actors came from ABS....kahit si Jolina na nasa GMA na ngayun..she wouldn't have been famous if not for ABS....Dennis Trillo was a Star circle member before....then there's Marvin A....

notice ko lang sa GMA,even yung young stars ng ABS...with the likes of Pauleen,etc..lahat binigyan ng breaks 'coz they can act...while yung young stars nila they just ignore them...like megan young for instance...di pa sya magaling umarte to think na nasa star struck yan...

GMA should have their own workshop para di naman kahiya-hiya ang mga stars nila...mga star struck winners.even the runner ups...after all these years it's obvious they're still conscious of the camera..they can't emote very well...examples are Mark Herras,LJ Reyes...and the rest of the starstruck winners...i forgot their names since di talaga sila memorable enough...

In fairness Angel locsin is famous...but acting wise... kulang pa...that's why ABS bigwigs told her she's going to be polished some more....like what they did to Anne Curtis...

well it's pretty obvious ABS-CBN does produce great and famous talents.
workshops are of great help to develop one's talent and it's good ABS offers it.
they don't just let their talents do one field. kumbaga, there is rotation.
they experiment them on all aspects. may it be hosting, acting, singing, dancing.
they don't focus on one person. majority are given projects.
others are rarely seen on tv but they do have provincial activities.

I HOPE I DON'T GET DITCHED FOR THIS BUT I REALLY DON'T WATCH LOCAL TELEVISION CAUSE ITS FULL OF PAGPAPA-CUTE OR REALLY CHEAP GOSSIP...but I always say that if I had to choose, I'd opt for the lesser BAKYA...a lot less. ABS-CBN seem to be more classy than GMA. GMA is number one cause they're pang-MASA, and almost 80 percent of the Philippines is masa. Catch my drift? From a graphic designer's perspective, ABS-CBN is more pleasing to the eyes...

am also biased towards abs cbn. like when i saw angel locsin in gma i was like yeachh!! but now she's in abs she's kinda "tolerable" going to ok. i don't like the feel of gma shows except K! you know the singing contest. but then thats because its a singing contest.

back to reality. we see a lot of those reality shows producing new stars everyday. even those pbb contestants are now "actors and actresses". the problem i see is there is too much supply of those stars when there are fewer local shows (even though these days there are more compared to that some years back). and its either they are not all given equal opportunity to be seen and allowed to show their talents or are cramped all together in one show that you can barely see them (like ASAP). i remember that a lot of those star magic talents were pushed back to make way for the money makers- the judy annes, kristines, and claudines.

my point?if you're going to produce new stars make sure you can support them all the way and not give them tidbits here and there coz a lot of them eventually fade away (and migrate hehe)

Hey! I am surprised that many people here go for ABS-CBN. And so am I. Eversince I was little I am already a Kapamilya!!!

I strongly agree that the Kapamilya talents are far better than the Kapuso talents. ABS-CBN really knows how to hone their talents' capabilities.

I feel bad when ABS-CBN talents migrate to the rival network. Now, Heart is already a Kapuso. tsk,tsk. How sad. I wonder what's going to happen to her career now that she is there. I just wish her good luck.

The former talents of GMA: Toni Gonzaga, Meagan Young, Anne Curtis, Iya Villania, Jake Cuenca, Angel Locsin, Railey Valeroso, Vanna Garcia, Oyo Boy Sotto, Valerie Garcia improved a lot when they worked with ABS-CBN. And now, we'll wait and see for Cristine Reyes' performance.

ABS by a mile! gma should improve their workshops. about 75% of the artists on GMA can't act! of course excluding the veterans. i'm talking about homegrown talents. the starstruck idols are just pathetic! only a few of them can really deliver lines. jennylyn, mark, rainier, ryza, mike, jewel, the gurl paired with aljur who played annie for shaider, they al make me want to throw our tv set out of the window. and that jackie rice, she's nowhere to be found! dingdong has been on the biz for more than 10 years now, but has he proved anything? thanks to marian he's gotten himself a billboard in edsa! oh and his real life gf who even happens to belong to a showbiz clan, man she can't act, she sings from the nose, and now she tries dancing because her bf's "love team" (yes at 28 dingdong still has a love team) has platinum for her dance album! man! see how pathetic gma talents are!

anne curtis was just a cutie cutie starlet when she was in gma, i even loathed her patweetums! but now she's one of the best young actresses we have so far, along with shaina magdayao, maja salvador to name a few. i can't stand bea alonzo though, i dunno why. don't want to name the others, just named those that surprisingly wowed me.

abs dramas are really not that great but then their actors' acting saves their dramas. whereas gma dramas are rubbish and with pathetic actors. i wish alex de rossi moves to abs. she has a better future there.

oh and lemme just say i'm not a kapamilya, and obviously not a kapuso as well. there's only one local show i regularly watch and that's EAT BULAGA. that's the only one i can stand watching.

singers: old - young and hit makers!
Soap Opera: Copycats- original
Ratings: cheaters!! - the real no. 1
Commercials: not much actors in it - a lot of talents have commercials

I prefer ABS artists. Johnny Manahan trains his artists very good! Imagine, there are more artists in ABS but they can handle them well. Like giving them a show that can put so many artists unlike in the other station, I can see unused artists and seeing the same artists over and over again. There's no competition.

If there's one thing that GMA is ahead over ABS, is having Eat Bulaga in its lineup. I cant stand Willie R.... yeah and Bea A. is indeed anoying. Overrated.

Other than that, its pretty much all ABS in the talent department.

But one Talent that standout and could make the most impact when comparing the two stations is Sarah Geronimo. This Kid's mass appeal and talent is incomparable to what GMA has to offer. No other female artist in the Philippines can do what she does on stage, sings with passion, great attitude, sense of humour and now that she's all grown up, she even got the looks. GMA truely missed out on this one.

Acting wise, I only have to mention one actor. John Loyd Cruz. Enough said.

ABS comes on top on this one.

I too am not Kapamilya nor Kapuso. This is just my opinion.


Here are the other talents thats worth mentioning and what they bring to their respective network

GMA
Marian Rivera - also has mass appeal. Very pretty and can grab attention.
TVJ - coolness
Jano & Ogie - Sobrang OJ pare... hehehe
Micheal V - well... who doesn't like bitoy???
Regine - She still have the highest vocal range... i wont argue wid that

ABS
Vhong Navaro - one of the few people that makes me laugh in ABS
Anne Curtis - Likable, love her personality.
Toni G. - funny gal, great hosting skills, she can act too.
Maja Salvador - she's going to be a good actress given a chance.

ABS's stars have real talent. Look at John Lloyd Cruz, he gets 1 soap a year while Richard Guiterez has 2 or 3 soaps/year and yet when the time for awards comes, Best Actor always goes to Lloydie(if not to Piolo).

I applaud ABS for continuously trying to challenge their stars by giving them workshops. As for GMA, their so-called king and queen dearly need acting lessons. Esp their 'queen' who is just painful to watch.

I'll go for abs-cbn. It's not that I'm a certified KAPAMILYA, its because ABS-CBN talents are far more better than those of GMA 7's . When you look at them, the standard and quality of their talents showcased a lot of beautiful and world class standard quality of programs that are not only shown locally but internationally as well (i.e Pangako Sa'Yo has been shown in different countries). You can see ABS-CBN talents everywhere, print ads,commercial,bill boards,tv ads,magazines to name a few. Some of them are the most recognized actors/actresses both in television and movie award giving bodies. The potential of talents created by ABS-CBN are well-enhanced. They give their talents room for growth whether he/she is a newly discovered teeny booper or a sought after actress like Claudine Barretto.
As for GMA,yes, they do make stars but they are a few of them that can be heard of. Why is it that Richard Guiterrez is famous? because he's the only actor whom I know of makes seryes morethan 3 per year,why?because he's the only actor who can sell well in GMA's camp and of course there's Dingdong Dantes whose starting to be popular again after a long haul to giveway to their "new talents"(if they have one).MArian Rivera for one and Katrina HAlili are famous because they show a lot of their skin,like angel locsin before who transfered to the KAPAMILYA camp. I must say that when Angel locsin transfered (as well as Cristine Reyes), she has to go through intensive acting workshop and training because let's say she lacks it(because the only thing she knows is to kick someone and jump from a cliff),but when you watch her now,I must say that she had garnered more fans and thanked her manager that she did(transfer I mean).

I would say that it is really abscbn. well, to say i may have bias because i am a "kapamilya".

Here is the following reasons:
1.) GMA in the start did not even promote local talent.
I remember when I was a kid, i would vote GMA as best station because of the anime trend during that time. They did have a good idea of showing voltes V which just started from a simple joke in bubble gang by the "dating doon" gig. Imaging that... a simple gig to riddicule Eli Soriano turned out to be a buggle gang joke, which turned into showing of voltes V and daimos, then ghost fighter... and the rest of anime were shown in GMA. I remember that time that GMA was criticize for not showing telenovela and not promoting local talents. For me, they just want profit.

If you would notice now, GMA and QTV are flooded with foreign dubbed shows.

2.) GMA has no originality... hence talent do not want to go to them. To be fair they were the one who made anime, talent show (that's entertainment, star struck), fantaserye in the industry.
But abscbn was able to be first in trend with real following:

1. abs was first on chinovela
2. abs was first on koreanovela
3. abs was first on importing reality
4. abs was first on afternoon mini documentary like balitang k (i really do not know how extra challenge beat them, even mel and jay/joey came from abs)
5. abs was first to try catering for ofw
6. abs was the one who revitalized the game show trend like game ka na ba (remember the korek ka diyan flop of channel 7)
7. abs was the one who made child comedy show hit like Ang tv, going bulilit (remember buggle gang jr - i feel sorry for those kids)

But here is what i notice...

A.)　when gma starts a trend, abs some times tries to make a copy show but they do tend to do it better... like the singing bee copied from gma 7 videoke challenge (which ironically gma even copied from abscbn's "sing-alis" portion at mtb)

B.) But abscbn starts a trend... and gma tries to copy, they scramble to flood the market too much. remember the chinovela. abscbn starts one, then gma shows half a dozen of them and filipino gets tired of chinovela. same goes with koreanovela.

3.) of course the other reasons are already stated in prior post -- abs really has good talent center.

4.) GMA prefers making shows appeal to masses (which makes profit and makes the show corny) than making challenging roles for artist to act with.

in the issue of gma has mass apeal... i really think gma always gears mass apeal shows for profit and not for artistic aspect of shows which are the ones that really help actor grows. actor of gma are in a hyper popularity always....

How many Starstruck Batches do they have? I mean, do they dream of doing something like That's Entertainment?

To name a few...

Katrina Halili - too sexy, so she tends to be overexposed...
Mark Herras - he just can't make it...many people says he's baduy(no appeal)
Reinier Castillo - WHERE is he???
Yasmien and Jennylyn - still famous, although both of them are near-overused too
the Starstruck avengers - some just vanished after 1 show, other had miserable roles (particularly the one in Go-Bingo)
the Starstruck Top4-ers - particularly Jackie Rice (who is cute) and Jewel Mische (KC Conception look-a-like); these two didn't get as much work
Megan Young - she has talent, but since GMA didn't use her, she just went to ABS, where she somehow clicked (a bit)

it's just disappointing that a teen star as cute as Kris Bernal. Hope she does the same network jump as Megan (oh wait, she is a SS Top4-er)

hmm..no offense, but entertainment world in the Philippines is so complicated. Like, they would try to brag at each other which ends up in fights. But, since I have to choose, imma choose artists of ABS-CBN. They offer workshops and they try to make their talents well-known. They don't leave their artists hanging if they didn't succeed in the first place.

i have watched several shows of GMA, and truth be told, i never liked any of it..
but on ABS-CBN, i didn't recall a time that i didn't like one of their shows!!
i loved all of it!
and ABS-CBN are really great on picking their Asianovelas...
an example is HYSNSN, Goong, and many more!!
so yeah ABS for me!!
