Hello there! This is Jiro Wang's Critics thread.





I remember coming upon a Jiro-disliker, so I wanted to see if there are anymore.

Honestly, WHO would truly dislike Jiro?
He's such a caring kid to his family, and he's been paying off debts with the money he earns from work. He does NOT spend it himself.

I don't dislike Fahrenheit, but I will say that I do not support them entirely as a group. I support Jiro more as an individual.

Any Jiro Wang dislikers? Come here, we'll get you outta that mode.

SHE11x, I find it that Jiro's voice has completely improved for quite some time now.
In his solo for TXF, "Zai Shui Yi Fang," he did an excellent job. It is absolutely impossible to deny that he has improved tremendously since he first started out.
I guess the nasal sound has begun to disappear ?

You know, I started out not liking him because he was part of Fahrenheit. How very wrong I was. Like I said, I supported him as an individual, and still do.

Jiro was the one who made me like Fahrenheit! Well, although my Fahrenheit fever subsided a little, I couldn't say that I dislike Jiro. He is a sweetheart, honestly!

I haven't actually met someone who dislikes Jiro, but only people who dislike the whole group of Fahrenheit. I think when it comes to Fahrenheit, people know Jiro and Chun immediately, since they are like the two who are quite 'prominent' in the group. Jiro and Chun are always being put together as rivals, but I think a lot of people diss Chun more than those who diss Jiro. I don't know why... but maybe compared to Chun, Jiro sort of... has what they consider as 'talent'? He plays the guitar and draws finely anyway.

Hmm... I think his pitch control isn't that good. His voice wavers a lot in some of the older songs, and I got to admit it, one of their earliest songs, Ru Zi Ke Jiao was... err... bad. He has potential actually, if he gets trained for a few years. Fahrenheit was formed without much preparation, so it's kind of disappointing sometimes.

Like I said, I supported him as an individual, and still do.

Hmm... I'm wondering if anyone of you think that Jiro could do better individually? Like without Fahrenheit?

his acting is really good i must say he is way better than wu zun.

his looks there are a lot of times he looks cute,i like seeing him in a serious mood makes him look cuter & hotter. On Fahrenheit i say he is the 2nd best good looking.

his voice is not really that good. its kinda irritating but time goes by i hope he will improve it.

I first saw Jiro as Ah Jin in ISWAK and he really annoyed me and my focus was on Joe. My first favorote in FRH wqas Chun after watching hana kimi.
But after I saw Jiro Wang in person I totally fell head over heels for him. He was the most handsome, manly, stylish and gorgeous for me. Eversince then I became a Jiro fanatic

I can really say that he has potential in acting especially in The X Family where he acted 4 roles in total. Those role was different characters and there was two roles that was somewhat similar but he was able to portray the role very well wherein you can see the difference of both characters. Example Gui Long and Zack looks very similar but the expression and characteristics was different.

He can dance! No need more explanation

Towards singing he might not be very great but I love his voice. The sound of it is very distinct which should be a good trait of a singer so you wont be imitated easily.

He started working behind the camera and now he is a star and as I can see no news about him being an airhead. He is still down to earth.

As we all know he is a filial son. His mother can only comment on that.

Jiro's my favorite FRH member. Although in my opinion he can't really sing (but then again none of FRH can except for maybe Arron), I love him as an actor. His roles in ISWAK and Hana Kimi did him no justice though. He mostly portrays those comedy roles, but he's actually quite good at emotional ones too. I remember a scene in ISWAK where he cries after Ariel rejected him. That scene was what convinced me that Jiro can act.

He is basically the reaosn why I even liked Fahrenheit in the first place he was my favorite member and i was into everything he was in.... even now when im not that much of a FRH fan anymore i still like Jiro Wang
The only complaint i have is that some characters he played are really annoying. But i dislike the characters not him personally.
Like the one in ISWAK its like he doesnt know go to take a hint he talks Ariel's character til theres no tommorrow, even when she tells him that she doenst love him he still stalks her! :blimk:
I loved him in Hana Kimi he was the main reason why i kept watching but then episode 14 hits and i started to hate his character so much. Who threatds to commite suicide cuz he likes hiis friend's ex? thats just too dramatic so i hated him from then on but again that was his character not Jiro himself. I mean im still gonna watch dramas with him in it... i saw some of X Family and i liked him in.... and im looking forward to Go Fried Rice.

Aspire, I think Jiro would only be "okay" as an individual.
He does have a lot of fans that support him. I wouldn't mind if he went off solo. But FRH wouldn't be complete without all four.
Trust me, Jiro and Calvin are the only ones I truly support in FRH. The other two are only okay. And Jiro was the original reason why I liked FRH in the first place and sort of got rid of my phobia for Chun.

omg...when i see angela opening this thread, i was thinking that who will not like jiro... i mean even i love calvin more but then jiro wont less from calvin.... gosh he is the first one that i really pay attention for even i have a single minute that like chun but than because of jiro , i got to find this group call fahrenheit... i mean he is not only have looks but awesome in acting... who can really portrait 4 roles in a series...omg!!! i mean you can see totally different 4 character in x-family... and i mean in each of his series, i find it very different role and character that he play... i guess he did a very good job in acting...

He's the reason why I did try Fahrenheit in the 1st place. I used to like Fahrenheit but Im not really into them anymore. Although I think its really nice that Ive been into them for quite sometimes to appreaciate that some boybands have some real talent. No offense to their fans yo!

I first watched him in hana Kimi out of boredom. I really got attracted to WuZun but as the show progressed Ive got myself drawn into Jiro. He's really funny and he's always stealing the show.XDDD I really think he' s a good actor in the making.

I still love Jiro~ I just couldnt catch up w/ his thread anymore.Its too fast recently although I gave up in waiting for any of their improvement. Jiro has a great personality~ sometimes I think he's too good to be true. I dont like his nasality and being out of tune and not listening to others during live. Basically the criticisms will be all about how he sings.

I really dont get the 'distinct' part as in srsly! Being nasal is what made his vocals distinct and its not really good for a singer. No vibrancy on the way he hit the notes~

personally, i like jiro. in terms of singing or acting, he is a great artist. also, he always take care of fahrenheit members like arron. moreover, he is really funny and filial. i think he is really nice and talented!

C'mon Angie! Who won't love Jiro?! Even me, who adores Calvin to bits and pieces and itty bitty shreds, and loves Arron, has to admit that Jiro a.k.a Xiu Yi was the FIRST ONE that attracted me to FRH in the first place.

Admittedly, he wasn't really good at first at singing live, but the most recent performances i see, for instance, the SHA BHA performance, he was pretty good actually. He managed to blend his voice with the other three's, and STAYS On pitch. His pitch use to be ALL OVER THE PLACE earlier, so yeah, dahlingJiro improved

And his acting? Undoubtedly, its good. Though he usually acts the funny, crazy wacko out of this world characters, but remember ISWAK? When XQ finally FORCEFULLY rejected Ah Jin, the emotional scene. From there, it really touched my heart when I see him almost tearing (Or was it cos of the music and flashes? Meh), Either way, from there I can see that he has potential to act, and CAN act if he's given some more time to brush up, and do more practice.

And his filial. He's mummy's boy. SO what? I find that adorably cute. He loves his mum, and thats a good enough reason to show that although he's the rocker-ish type, he knows how to be gentle when the time calls for it, and that mkaes him completely lovable. I rest my case.

Well, today I saw someone on AF who hated Jiro. I obviously love Jiro to bits, seriously, don't get me started on WHY I love him. I'll write you all a 1000 word essay, trust me. I'm just kinda stunned after meeting someone who hated Jiro so I came here. She didn't say why but I would like to know why. Well, it's the first timeI'veEVER met anyone who hated Jiro and even when I come here, I don't really see any Jiro-haters.

Actually, I realised that people who don't like Jiro THAT much usually give the following reason:

"I find his reactions so overboard and it is annoying."

This is mostly because they think Jiro is like Xiu Yi from Hana Kimi all the time, even in real life. Come on! He is sooo NOT. Maybe his reactions are more overboard than other FRH members in real life but it is not annoying. It is not as if he did it to get attention or whatevs. And if you look at Jiro these days, he does NOT overreact! Seriously! Watch any recent FRH event clip or whatever. Do you see Jiro jumping around like some kid? No. He is just the way he is and sometimes if he wants to express himself, let him be. I'm actually happier if he is more active because these days, he is sooo busy and he has been so exhausted and all. It's just that people keep viewing Jiro in real life as XIU YI without even getting to know him first. But if some people still find him annoying, then what can I say? Can't force everyone to love him. And it's good this way too, less competiton for my Jiro, hahaha~

But if anyone EVER says that they hate him because he is stuck-up or whatever, I will not HOLD BACK! He may be a celeb but he is down to earth and he remembers his roots. He is VERY filial to his mother. Do you know that he earns sooo much every month(he practically earns 40,000 TW dollars for an ep of a drama he stars in) but he only spends like 5000 TW dollars a month!? He's busy paying off his debts and he gives a lot of his money to his mom. He only splurges when buying stuff for his mom. He has been driving the smae old second hand motorbike for YEARS. That's why I will not take it when people say that he is just some rich superstar who thinks he's all that.

And about his voice, yes, I do know that it is slightly nasal but trust me, he really has been improving! And his live singing has improved a lot too. Now his voice is not all that nasal, it's more raspy and sexier. But then, criticisms on his singing are acceptable because that is constructive criticism and all. But people shouldn't say that his singing SUCKS and all because it really doesn't. The worse you can say is average.

Of course, about his acting, I will say JIRO ROCKS AT ACTING. Seriously, his acting is VERY good. One thing I can't stand, no offense to anyone, is people telling me that Zun's acting in Hana Kimi is WAY BETTER than Jiro's. Puhlease. Jiro's acting rocked in Hana Kimi! Yes, I know, Xiu Yi overreacts a lot but that's how the character is in the manga! And I also can't stand it when people say Jiro can't act(but no one I know have ever said that)! OMG. SERIOUSLY. Jiro can act. Simple as that. And he's pretty darn good at it.

The point is, I love my Jiro and I always will no matter what others say about him. But actually, I'm glad that no one has really bashed Jiro here.

I'm neutral.
From the beginning I liked him the best in Fahrenheit, but slowly I changed my mind. After watching his shows, I find that he seems to act too exaggerated. When I see him as a guest on shows, he seems to be really 'fake'. He always seems to be seeking attention, wanting the attention to be on him.
I used to find him really good-looking, but now I'm beginning to realise I'm wrong. He isn't all that good-looking afterall.
However, he's still quite okay to me. After reading how filial he was, he sort of improved in my opinion.
Did I offend any of you? Oh well. It's just my opinion anyway.

Jiro definitely has potential, he just needs to get rid of the nasal quality and train with a REALLY good voice coach for several years. Accomplishing those things will do his voice wonders! We probably wouldn't be able to recognize his voice! Sadly, I don't think Jiro will do any of those things so hopefully his voice will just keep improving. He also needs better pitch control, like you said.

On the subject of Ru Zi Ke Jiao...I adored Jiro's voice in it! Yes, he sounded like he had a bad cold, but his bravadoes weren't bad at all! Call me a sucker, but I think Jiro sounded like a cute little sick boy in that song! LOL!

Now here's my full opinion of Jiro: I just love the guy. I mean, how can you not? He's got such a great personality and he's bursting with LIFE. He cares for his Mother deeply, he's a hard worker...even to the point of injury and sickness, and he loves his fans. He's a good actor, but needs to obviously work on his singing.

Oh, and there's always the small fact that the man is smokin' hot.

Honestly, if it weren't for Jiro then I might not have given Fahrenheit a chance, and would've just continued being an F4 fan.

And to those who say Jiro likes to hog the spotlight: Oh, please! Not everyone has to be calm, quiet, and boring. Some people are actually out-going and cheerful! *gasp*

but i have to say Jiro is really quite loveable. His personality is sweet and nice, filial to his parents and hardworking. His singing and acting are easily one of the best in fahrenheit. and he has this big brother look and personality. i watched some of his shows and i have to say his acting is not exaggerated even in HK. to stand out in comedy or deliver your acting out loud in comedy, you have to exaggerate. who will laugh when you just deliver your lines with a wooden expression? i mean he suceeded. many ppl like him in HK and thinks that he is so funny inside. but honestly, after watching part of X-family, i have to say his acting sort of stay stagnant already. same for TKA. many artist went thru this phrase and it is of no suprise. i just hope he can start improving on his acting skills again and achieve for the best. another opinion of mine, i think he should improve on his sad scenes. i totally cant feel for him. whereas when Bingxin died, i can feel for calvin. i think exaggerating style of acting is only important in comedy. In serious drama, one need not exaggerate. Audience dislike that. even subtle expression can bring across the effect in serious drama. that is my definition of a good performer.

that aside, why is everybody saying "how is it possible for anyone not to like him"? i mean it is perfectly normal for anyone of us to have different opinions. one can feel jiro has good acting skills, but one doesnt see it. it is perfectly normal.

Hmm... I think it's because he was imprinted with this image that he is always the comical actor on-screen, like what you said. That's why, many couldn't take the thought out of them, and so hey couldn't see his emotions through his acting. It relies on different people I think. For some reason, I could see his sadness when he was in ISWAK, the episode where Xiang Qin finally decided to reject him. He was losing all his confidence and was merely a soulless figure. Other than that, his other characters in Hana Kimi and KO One are more of hilarious than serious. I haven't watched The X-Family and They Kiss Again to judge though.

I don't like him, everytime I see him, I see a guy who is trying way too hard to be cute and funny, like he can do anything just to get the camera focus on him. I'm not a FRH's fan so I dont follow their activities and watch their videos so how Jiro's personnality is, I really dont know but thats the way I see him since the first time.

Yes at times I do find him really annoying due to his voice and acting in KO One and ISWAK 1 but I liked him in TXF and have yet to watch TKA. Look wise he doesn't attract me at first, but he gets a cuter once you keep looking at him. I guess if I had to rank fahrenheit Jiro would be 2nd outta Fahrenheit but if he were to be a solo actor I would have a total neutral feeling.

Aspire, true i agree. but i have to say i watched both his comical and serious dramas. in fact, i watched KO one first before a bit of HK. i didnt even watch ISWAK and i watched part of X family. i watched more of his serious dramas than comical dramas. his comical acting is not soo much imprinted in me. but a versatile actor should be able to handle both comical and serious dramas well. when i watched two different drama, i must see a two different him. although i see a different him in serious drama, i just feel that he lack in sad scenes. he is unable to carry out the mood out. this is so even in X family and KO one. but this is my personal view. Btw, i tot his character in KO one is more serious than hilarious. i wont say he was hilarious inside but he was really lame at times. maybe it just boils down to our definition of serious.

I think it's his personality that attracted me the most.
He's always helping his mother, I mean, the majority of the times you see him on TV, there's a statement about him loving his mom. I'm always really touched.
Haha, Jiro's one of the two FRH members that I support. Otherwise, not really the others. I do like Jiro the best though.

no i dont feel that it was too exaggerated. exagerrated yes but not too. afterall, it is necessary in comical scenes. not many ppl can pull of comical acting and he is one of the few artists who can do that. my view here, i tot he did improve but not tremendous. there is indeed a distinct difference for the four characters but the mood wasn't ripe enough in some emotion scenes. we are bound to have different views about artists. oh well.

OH GAWD! WHO COULD NOT LOVE JIRO???WHO??? He has this ability to transform from being a boy to being so manly you just want to throw your clothes right at him when you meet him on the street! (i haven't met him though but that's what i'm gonna do if ever i did) His smile is piercing, his lips so luscious and his eyes ..dang! i can't believe there is someone who does not LOVE JIRO! First time i saw him was when TJOLIE of the Celsius Girls had me watch HanaKimi...he got my attention first and not CHUN..gawd! i sooo love him! Then i saw the Open concert where he did the crunches and he won...there was not enough saliva left in my body after that because of drooling then i almost had to be rushed to a hospital for blood transfusion! and the rest...the rest is history..never stopped loving JIRO since then. That is how he affects me and how he brightens up my day! THANK GOD there's a thread for him...where all JIRO lovers share him!

What do you mean "trying to be cute"? Jiro is cute by nature and he is not pretending at all! Is it impossible for someone to be cute and manly at the same time? i don't want to seem like I'm scolding you or something. After all, it is a critics thread, just that most of us here are supporters... But well, what I said is true, it is Jiro's natural personality that he is cute and manly and obviously not trying to be funny either! Jiro is by nature a very humourous person, does his jokes look fake? Maybe you should go watch Jiro more.

it does seem like you are really scolding her. Oh well, what she/he said is also her/his heartfelt opinion of Jiro. You think that he is naturally cute but she doesn't think so. Is there a problem having different views as yours? I don’t want to sound too harsh either and i am sorry if i am being harsh. you sounded like it is a serious problem for thinking Jiro is trying hard to act cute. and i dont see why she has to watch Jiro more so as to change her opinion of jiro. afterall, the impression she gave me is she is not in the least interested in fahrenheit and jiro. why bother finding more about someone whom you are not interested in?

just my opinion here, i find him naturally handsome and charismatic. as for acting cute, i find that he try too hard sometimes onscreen . not so much offscreen.

Ahhh Jiro!
First of all, let me first state that i am not a fan of Fahrenheit, neither do i hate them...i'm just neutral towards all 4 of them. However i've watched quite a number of dramas which they've starred in (Romantic Princess, KO One, ISWAK 1 and currently 2, The X-family, Hana Kimi). I must say that the one who appeals to me most is Jiro. Who can hate Jiro??

I do agree some of the characters he played were really annoying, but there were instances that i was totally convinced by his acting. The other 3 members of Fahrenheit are still lagging behind in terms of emoting well in front of the camera. Jiro might not be as good looking but i think he warms up people's hearts very quickly. I'm not sure about his personality though cos i don't really follow his background and everything, so whatever i've said i judged from his on-screen persona and the bits and pieces i've seen from other variety shows and newsclips.

Although I personally am a big fan of Jiro, I do understand the point from where the people who criticize Jiro stand. It's perfectly natural for each person to not see things from the same perspective, and I know where these critics are coming from with their points of dislike in Jiro.

But I WILL try to explain my view of Jiro. My opinions are not meant to offend anyone or anything, or even as an attempt to persuade dislikers. This is really just what I honestly think of him.

Well first, Jiro's just too adorable to not like haha!
I love every single part of him. Okay, so maybe he's a little vain and self-absorbed, maybe he does overact a bit, and maybe his voice isn't completely flawless. But all of these small imperfections added up just complete him as a person. We all have flaws, and even celebrities like Jiro must possess parts that are not perfect to some extent. Anyway, overall, I would say that he is quite suitable as a star and idol to all his fans, and deserves all the fame he has currently. He has worked his way up this path of stardom, and has finally reached his dream! I'm glad he can find happiness in what he does, and I feel happy along with him! I support you Da Dong! I really do hope to see him even more in future works. With every new thing he does, whether it be a new song or drama, I see his growth, maturity, and improvement. He is a person who continues to awe and inspire all of us with every new day.

Now for my personal experience...Jiro really just has had this huge effect on me! While he does inspire me greatly in persisting in what I do and giving it my all, he is also the reason I can never finish my school homework, and the reason I'm always distracted from my studies. Because of him, I think my whole lifestyle has changed! I spend hours on end checking his thread, reading about him, drooling over his photos, and just stalking him in general. I wouldn't consider this time being wasted, but it really just goes to show how much one person can impact your life so much. His presence, even thousands of miles away in Taiwan, has this incredible power over my every move... I'm being manipulated! But I don't mind of course, since it is my beloved Jiro haha! I would never think of this effect on me to be negative though. I believe that someone like him, who is able to change the lives of others, is someone worth noting. To have such an impact on ordinary people like me means that he must be doing at least something to earn some degree of respect from even dislikers.

So all in all, I know everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and views, but it's hard not to admit that Jiro undoubtedly has good both on the inside and outside. He's a good soul, perhaps a famous one, but stays true to himself and his own dreams, and I find that to be a quality worth my respect and attention.

Haha, sorry if I repeated myself. I'm just dying to express my personal feelings about my lover and my hero, Jiro, so sometimes I may write too much.

Which parts of his dramas do you think Jiro is unable to carry out emotional scenes and comical scenes? When he's doing emotional scenes, he's always got that face of his in great pain, and he doesn't look like the jolly Jiro we usually see.
When he's doing comical scenes, his smile is so much more JOLLY than the real Jiro, it's extremely believable.

So could you give us a scene in his drama in which you think he did not convince you?

Sure, no problem. but please let me explain myself first. I think ppl have the impression that i think jiro cannot handle comical scenes but i actually feel that he can( if you read my post above). i think his comical scenes are very nicely done.
Whatever i said here is only my opinion. what i said cannot be represent the whole lot of you guys' views.

KO1- when anqi went back twice. once, he went to anqi's place and both of them cried while reciting the poems. secondly, anqi left already and he ran out of the house to look for her.
I cant feel his emotions at all. the two scenes are supposed to be very emotional. Although he appears to be sad but at the deeper level, i cannot feel the ripe emotions.

X family- One part that is extemely memorable; when he realises han is supposed to be his sister. that part was quite poorly done in my opinion. the right emotions were not there.
Of course i regard Jiro as a good actor and that's why i have rather high expectations of him out of the four of them.

ah jiro.. he was the first one from fahrenheit i recognized as well in ISWAK.
saw him as an annoying guy interfering the the joe and ariel relationship, but hahaa, that was only in the drama.
started to watch KO ONE for him and met the other fahrenheit members.
look-wise, he doesnt attract me. but he can look cute and cool.
singing, not the best, but not the worst either.
in general, im neutral towards him but i do support him!

irritationally adept - I have to agree with you on the AnQi scene. Must agree. I think Jiro had hard time carrying out that scene.. generally. But I do think that you are right in that point. As for the scene in X Family, I think that he did carry out that scene well. (I cried in that scene). Well, you are right. You have high expectations from him, which I understand. I do too, but I'm not disappointed if he doesn't carry them out, because he's been WAY too tired lately.
*Think on the bright side, we both love QE! LOL

Whoever said Jiro likes to act cute: He's not trying to do it on purpose.
Incase if you don't notice, he always smiles when he's happy. When a close friend of his is unhappy, he begins to lose his confidence and starts to back off.
Would you not do the same? And Jiro's manly. And he's the most respectful in FRH. And he's the most stressed.
