Gillian Chung - My Road, My Persistence

When I first came to work in the ET industry, well, I signed a contract, but I had no idea when I could actually become an artiste officially after signing the contract. I went through some training, nearly a year of training. It was all part of waiting; during the time, I didn't exactly have much to do. Everyday was just basically learning, but at other times, it's as if I were doing nothing at all. The feeling is like I can't do anything to change that, so when I actually do receive jobs, I will try my best to grasp it. I would just hope that I will receive more chances to do more things.

The main reason of entering the ET industry for me is mainly wanting better living conditions for my family. I want them to be comfortable with themselves, so I do try my best to do my jobs properly. I am hoping that the people around me will take notice that I do give effort in the things I do, so they will give me more chances. I learn how to sing and how to dance because a person wouldn't know what kind of path he or she will be stepping onto in the future, so obviously you'd need to learn about various things. That way, when you actually come out into the light, you would be aware of what's going on. It's just a theory of how if you had no idea about anything, it's very easy for you to be eliminated.

Filming action scenes is laborious work, and it's easy to get hurt from it, but I think it's all part of your personal will. Just tell yourself that you can make it, you can pull it through. Even though you'll get hurt, just go to the doctor afterwards; it's not hard. The wounds will eventually heal. I am also able to learn many things each time I finish an action film. It may be because I used to take up running in school; while running, it's about the persistence. It's the moment of when you're near the finish line, you would start telling yourself that the finish line is coming, how you have to keep going, and just endure it for a bit more. The persistence is bound to be there. It's the same thing for an action film; as the scene is ending, just keep in mind that the action scene is almost finished, and if you're not able to complete this nicely, you'll have to do it all over again. Can you really do it all over again? I probably can't, so I will put more effort into it. I feel that the teenagers nowadays have many temptations around them. Perhaps their friends will be telling them to go hang out here and there, have fun before working, and there'll be plenty of time for work later. But for my personal view on this, I'd say there's also plenty of time for having fun afterwards; the serious matters should be dealt with first. Everyone is able to receive chances, but it just depends whether you're able to grasp them well enough or not.

lenax3: Haha, the timing was so good that it was crazy. I just logged onto the Gillian thread, and it had more than 2000 posts, so I decided to go ahead with making a new thread, just to make things more efficient. Yes, hopefully, a new thread can mean a fresh start for Gillian too. Gillian's persistence has gotten her this far, so she should definitely continue. People should just learn that the past is the past. I can't wait to see her when she makes a comeback. I hope it'll be smashing!!

Yay! Part 5! Like everyone else, I hope that with this new chapter opening up here that a new chapter will unfold for Gillian. Let the past stay in the past and come back stronger than ever! I really can't wait until Gillian comes back, especially better and popular than before and show all those people that stopped supporting her (i.e. fans, advertisements, etc) that she CAN come back stronger. And, to not endorse for them anymore, if they won't support her during her hard time, then she shouldn't support them. (Sorry, but I'm really bitter at all those companies/people who stopped supporting Gillian during this time. I understand why they did it, I just don't like it.)

Also, does anybody know exactly what Gillian is studying right now? I've been hearing mixed messages lately. I remember it was confirmed to be acting, dancing, and singing, yet now I think I'm hearing about martial arts/kung fu too. So is she doing all 4? Or did she just change her focus? I'm hoping it's all 4 because I think the most important things for her to learn right now are acting, dancing, and singing, and then martial arts/kung fu could be for future movies or for her own interest/liking.

I agree. As narrow-minded as it sounds, I really want Gillian to come back stronger than ever to show all these people who looked down on and thought less of her what she can accomplish. If not of all the companies that stopped supporting Gillian, the haters wouldn't be laughing so loudly right now. It always brings me to wonder though, if who the spokesperson is affects the sales of the product that much. I mean, shouldn't the quality of the product be the principle issue, whereas the spokesperson brings in publicity?

I'm not that sure about the martial arts/kung fu studies because it seems like it is just assumed by the media/fans. The studying of kung fu came in when Charlene was asked about Gillian's Hollywood opportunity, and things like how the Western society is interested in the Chinese Kung Fu area, and Gillian's previous image as a fighting girl, came into discussion., so Charlene had answered along the lines of how Gillian could handle martial arts and such if the film happened to require her of that area. Then, fans just assumed that Gillian would studying Kung Fu as well. However, it wouldn't be surprising if Gillian went there with her studies too, seeing as it is useful in its way.

One thing that I do wonder though is how good the quality of her studies are going to be if she's doing 3-4 things at the same time? Or has her break been extended? It hasn't really been confirmed of how long she's going for, right? The news on the length keeps changing. Some are assuming her return by June to promote TFWB, but other people are assuming until September for the Twins concert.

Boy, but all I can say is EEG in general isn't having a very good year, Gillian's break, Isabella's lawsuit, and apparently Mandy might be terminating her contract. Not a very good way to start off the new year, let's hope it gets better, especially for Gillian.

Charlene's the new spokesperson for Adidas, but I wouldn't call it taking over because Gillian only signed on to be the spokesperson for the autumn/winter seasons of the brand. So, Adidas probably would've found someone new for the spring/summer products anyway.

I wouldnt say she's taking over either. Because Gillian's not even around at the moment so they'll need a new spokeperson and Charlene is hre partner so it makes sense.

If she is coming back in June then thats 2 months. Thats enough time to study well enough to make a good come back with her singing and dancing. Or whatever she's stuyding. I guess they keep changing what she's studying to make sure whats best for her, but she wouldnt have enough time on that topic if they keep changing it. I think.

@hil: It was a wedding that Gillian attended alone. I remember that were several couples at the event and Gillian was like the one who witnessed that. Gillian actually cried in one of the pics . She must have felt touching seeing those girls finally found their true happiness .I secretly wish that it was Edison in the bridal pics with GIllian :. No offense but I don't think Carlos match Gillian. THere is this manip that an EG fan made that looks really like a real bridal wedding pic . He/she cut out Carlos and placed Edison right next to Gillian :, It's this one.

I know that her beauty beats the height but then in a Miss HK contest, they take the height into consideration too . If there was a contest where only beauty is counted then no doubt Gillian would become the champion :. When my cousin saw House of Fury he said that Gillian looks so pretty and he likes her a lot. May be not as much as me or you love her but he does have a good impression about Gillian. Since then he always asks me if I have any Gillian/Twins movies. I don't know much about Joey so I'm not certain about the renewing contract. I know Twins isn't the type of person who would walk away once they've risen to fame and abandon those who once helped them.

I think VN economy is really low right now and that many poor people can't afford to buy meat so they have to endure eating vegetables every day, which is sad You know that in where I live,the price of a bag of rice has gone up to 35 dollars, twice as before. well actually I only lived in Saigon for 11 years and back in that time there wasn't a lot of shopping malls as there is today! I was a Biochem major but after I took Organic Chem I change my major to biology because I didn't want to also take honor organic chem! Two sems of organic chem is enough to last me a life time! lol About the rice thing..my mom was complaning about that too! Yeah you will love the shopping in Vietnam..there is a lot of place to go and lots of pretty clothes! I brought a lot of dresses when I visited there and they look really nice (I get ton of compliment wheneve I wear them!)..I think they were made and design in Korea. There are lots of pretty stuff..you just have to shop around. You get to visit all of the landscape in Vietnam...I should do that next time I visit!

Oh if you need anything like books and stuff let me know..maybe I have the book that you need and I really don't need or use it anymore so I let you borrow it!

Charlene's the new spokesperson for Adidas, but I wouldn't call it taking over because Gillian only signed on to be the spokesperson for the autumn/winter seasons of the brand. So, Adidas probably would've found someone new for the spring/summer products anyway.

Oh I see. Thanks for clearing it up. I can't wait until Gillian comes back. She's coming back around June right? So wouldn't it be the perfect time to promote TFWB? Also I'll like to hear the duet between her and Alex; I wonder if theres any chance of them filming a MV together? I hope everyone would just let the incident fade away and don't mention when Gillian gets back.

I heard Char said that she will be waiting for Gill to come back and finish their half-way recorded album. I guess it might be out around September because their concert is scheduled to be held during that time, right
@hil: probably when Gill is back Adidas will ask her to be their spokeperson again for the autumn/winter season. Twins will be dominating Adidas ads. I was like staring at these wedding pics when I first saw them for 5 minutes. Look like I was in a daze. Match made in heaven fits EG the best : IF it Edison was the groom on Gill's wedding day I would laugh to die and of course, given the case that if he changes for the better. I can totally imagine how cute they will be? Not cute to me though. But gorgeous . My cousin indeed has a very great taste regarding beauty.

So now your major is Organic Chem? You seem to dislike Chem a lot. It's okay to me though but I like Math better. Do you drive your mom to the Viet market every weekend or does she drive there by herself? My mom complains a lot about the rice thing. I mean the price is double in like 2,3 days. Huh, I'll get to go shopping when I'm in Vietnam. Once in a lifetime , right? I may not be there for several more years. I'm planning to visit the landscapes in VN but I'm not quite certain about it. I mean it costs you money to go there , right? I'd probably go to Nha Trang. I suggested to my mom this evening to go to Hue but she turned down. She said that there's nothing there in Hue except the ruins of the castles.

i think twins' album will be released a month the concert.. cause that was what's suppose to happen when their concert was in april. i have a feeling that they will be changing the theme.. i don't think they will be keeping it as "bling bling"..

With all the reported "financial" troubles that EEG is going through, I think Gillian might have to come back sooner than later. Especially if Isabella's going to win that lawsuit..EEG will have lost a lot of money. You can be sure they are going to push their remaining top moneymakersL Twins, Joey EVEN HARDER. Yikes, they might NEVER get a break..good thing Gillian has a mini-one right now. And the "financial" troubles does on the other hand ensure that Gillian will not be dropped..because she's too much money.

IT'd not be a smart move for EEG if they decide to drop Gillian since the lawsuit of Isa is still going on and there's a possibility that she might win. IS it true that EEG is undergoing a financial crisis though? OR is it just the reporters' words? IF EEG wanted to drop Gill they would have dropped her a long time ago, I mean ever since the scandal happened but they didn't do that. So yeah, GIll will have to come back soon.

You're actually scaring me, missing because currently I'm fine with Chem. I'm taking a Chem course right now and will not take Organic Chem until next year. Actually I know many of my friends who told me that Chem is horrible and all that stuff before I took it. They said that Physics is easier but somehow I can't seem to get all those complicated concepts and theories from Phy . I thought that Chem was more of a nightmare than Physics because of what my friends had warned me but that changed after I actually took it. I think it's not that bad . But from what you and hil have experienced, I think I should reconsider it .So what's your major now?

No I am a biology majory now because I didn't want to take anymore chem classes! I just took my last chem class (biochem) last sem..yeah!!!! I am so happy! No I don't take my mom to the Viet market every weekend because my mom and dad go together but yeah the price are like crazy! I told her to buy American rice instead! Nah Trang is really pretty..I been there 5 years ago I think. I also visted this beach that was really pretty but I can't rmb the name now..I think it Long Hai or something. The sand was really white though! Yeah you don't go there often so you have to live it up! Just let me know about the books because I been there and now how much books costs! Hey we are all starving college students so we have to help each other out. Lucky for me the last two years I been getting books from my friend so I didn't have to spend that much!

OMG I hate phys too..like you I can't picture any of those stuff! I work my but of for a B.. !

themissingpiece: Yeah EEG been having lots of trouble lately..hopefully they and Gillian will get better luck later in the years! Lol Glad someone know what I am talking about! Yeah O-Chem sucks! Part A is ok but part B was killer and it doesn't help that my lab instructer was a witch! You switched....me too! I change to biology because I just can't imagine taking O-chem honor which have 6 hours of lab..OMG!!!!

Well the "financial" troubles of EEG are rumored by newspapers. With the Gillian scandal and Isabella lawsuit, it's not unbelievable that they would be in some sort of financial trouble. They are rumoring that EEG is laying off some employees and might cut Mandy and Don. While in some sick way, it does give some insurance that Gillian will probably remain, I dunno, I kind of wish Gillian would be able to get out of the iron fist of EEG..but then again, what she can switch to now after the incident is questionable since she is "beleagured."

sorry didn't mean to scare you coolrain..but I really liked Gen Chem and that's why I wanted to be a Chem major..THEN orgo hit..and I realized, it's NOT for me. Then again, maybe it's your thing! hillary...for me, I had 6 hours lab even for REGULAR O-CHEM! that's what's killer and i hated the class.

I'm a psych major now. LOL, what a turn around, eh? Btw, which state do you guys go to college?

btw, I prefered Lee San San and Sunny in DIF4 as well and sorry ^^ HUGE Leehom fan..so I prefer him over Jay 10000x

Seems like both you and missing dislike Chem . I still have one more CHem class to take and then ORganic Chem. I drive my mom to Viet market every weekend(she made me to actually). I guess I'll eat less then Does American have rice too I didn't know that because I never eat it. Yep Nha Trang is a VN beautiful landscape that you have to visit when you go to VIetnam. Long Hai? I went there when I was in VN. I don't know how to swim you know so I didn't dare to go far into the sea.
I'll let you know if I needed the books. Hey, charge me at a cheap price. I'm as poor as you. You're lucky indeed. My friends didn't take the class that I'm taking so I can't ask them to lend me the book.
By the way, when you say 6 hours of lab, do you mean that 6 hours of lab every week or for the entire semester? I still have to take biology courses even though my major is Biochem.

@missing: EEG wouldn't want to lose a money making machine like Gillian. Actually Twins and JOey are the two biggest sources of profit to EEG among their artists. Seriously I really want Twins to get out of EEG as soon as possible but I don't think it would happen any time soon considering the current situation and EEG isn't the type of company who would let their artists leave easily

I haven't taken O-Chem yet so I don't know if it's my stuff . I like Gen Chem though. But since you are like me, you like Gen Chem but not O-Chem, I think I should considering changing my major . I heard many people say that Psychologist is an interesting subject. What's your suggestion about it?
I'm in UC Davis, that about you?
That's all right if you like Lee Hom much more than Jay because even though I like Jay more , I don't like Lee HOm at all. They are both big talents.
