I've been watching tvb series for some time and most of the time I'm able to predict whats going to happen later on in the series, as with most people. Usually the trailers gives out more info then they're suppose to so its easy to put 2 and 2 together. I would much rather have them show what happens early on in the series.

Take On The First Beat for example. We see the clip of Sonia's family at the funeral, everyone is crying but Sonia isn't there. Hmm... lets figure that one out.

Thats just my thought.

Hmmm kind of but sometimes they would really surprise you with some of the endings. But it is good to watch some of these trailers becasue it makes you more interested in teh show or movie.

Its a gimmick to get you hooked, when you see it in the trailer then you probably want to know when and how its gonna happen!

i think they have to be really careful of what they DO choose to air, coz lets admit it, storylines are always getting recycled so add that tothe trailers and bam..you could just go figure the story out urself,no stress!!so yea,it pissesme off actually coz i can get the plot really easily...mood spoiler.

I don't understand why tvb/atv does so given out trailers of the series, it does spoilt it, maybe it is their intention to catch audiences and rate. It has been like this since their production started, it may look weird without it.

Yeah sadly when i anticipate a series i always watch all the previews and trailers...and when i do...i know the whole plot of the series and almost everything that will happen which will allow me to predict the endings etc. This causes it to make the series less interesting to watch sadly =[

Yes because it shows the whole series in one song, I always fast forward it.

It does give out a lot of info about the series..
But this is also one of thier ways to attract viewers..

I find that their trailers have misled viewers to some vague points in the next episodes. And I feel confused with what I watch after that. It's not a good way to attract more attention from viewers, I think.

i think sometimes trailer lead to different thinking of the series. i remember a trailer for a series, don't remember the name, from the trailer it seemed that the series very good and exiciting to watch. it turned out to be a terrible series

Of course! Just the theme song music video alone gives out most of the plot.

LOL, when I read your post, to me Burning Flames III springs to mind! The Opening theme was exciting with fire and explosive scenes but when you watch it, its so boring and dire!

Yes, i do.

I think they have to know which scenes that can be put on the themesong trailer and which ARE NOT.

Let's take On The First Beat for example.
They can show Sonija is in the grave danger on the themesong trailer but never showed her death scenes such as funeral or when she is dying.

Therefore, people will feel curious whether sonija will be going to die or not at the end of the story and keep watching it to know the next. I'm sure audiences will bet that she will stays alive in the story since she is a main actress but the storyline is just totally opposite. This will give a fresh ending to the audiences.

I actually don't mind the trailers. Maybe I'm just weird, but I'm the type who wants to know what happens because it makes me want to watch it more. Whenever I watch a series on tv, I always read the episode summaries on TVB's website as well because I want to know what happens and can't wait until the next day (or sometimes 3 days for the Friday episodes). All the more reason why I would rather get the series on dvd than watch on tv -- I can watch as much (or as little) as I want in one sitting and not have to wait.

Also, I like the theme song mtv section at the beginning of each episode, especially if I like the song as well...again, maybe I'm just plain weird, but I like matching the scenes from the theme video to where they actually occurred in the series...maybe because I want to make sure the scene wasn't cut from the actual series (that's one of my pet peeves -- cut scenes, especially poorly cut ones)
