Song Hye Kyo is naturally beautiful! She doesn't need a lot of make up to look pretty. After seeing her in Full House, I was eager to watch her in Autumn in My Heart! And there is no doubt that she can portray a range of characters!
I read somewhere that she was actually born on Nov. 22, 1981 but her registered birthday is on Feb. 26, 1982 - she was sick when she was born and until she fully recovered then did her parents register her birthday on Feb 26, 1982.

Hye Gyo's New Movie!

Hye Gyo has finally confirmed her next project! As speculated, it is not a drama but a movie. Her character will be Hwang Jin Lee, who is a prominent figure in Korean History from a few centuries ago. Hwang Jin Lee was a performer (singer/dancer), NOT a prostitute. The two male leads have not been casted yet. The men will play her love interests, one being a farmer and the other a nobleman. If you remember, a few months back there was mention that Hye Gyo was one of the actresses up for this role but it wasn't official word. Apparently this role had some stiff competition but Hye Gyo beat out her acting peers for "having the most attractive Asian image" and the strongest acting skills. The movie begins filming next month.

Is Hye Gyo right for the role? This is the question that is being debated ever since news leaked of Hye Gyo's new movie role as Hwang Jin Lee, a famous 'artist' from the Chosun Dynasty. Some feel that her pure and innocent image does not fit this role....however, this is the same thing that was said when Hye Gyo was cast as the female lead in "Full House," the hit 2004 drama which also starred Bi (Rain) and she proved all of those people wrong by transforming into her character Han Ji Eun with no problems at all. She's received so much praise for her role in "Full House," even from those who at first didn't believe she could do it. She has said repeatdly that she's sick of playing the same roles and she wants to do something different. Well with this new movie, she'll finally get her chance and it's very possible that playing Hwang Jin Lee will become one of the most pivotal projects in her career. "My Girl & I" director, Jun Yoon Soo has said that "[Hye Gyo] has a dark side to her face; her short gaze or when she's alone, there's a cold aspect to her profile. These things can only be an asset for acting out various roles." This new movie is based on North Korean writer Hong Suk Joong's 2006 work. A representative at Sidus personally responded to a fan's question about this at her official site by stating that she has not picked a new project and when she does, they will have the news available. Also, the representative said not to trust other sources (i.e. internet articles) outside of Sidus.

5/3/06 – Song Hye Gyo is selected to lead the movie “Hwang Jin Yi (황진이, 黃眞伊)”. This movie portrays Hwang Jin Yi’s multiple identity and her love stories with many men. SHG just had her movie debut “My Girl and I (파랑주의보, aka ‘Green Alert’)” around the end of last year. This new movie is her first historical film in which she will have a great deal of character transformation. The production company is “Cine2000 (씨네2000)”, and the director is Jang Yoon Hyun (장윤현) whose previous works include “The Contact (접속, 1999)” and “Tell Me Something (텔미썸딩, 1999)”. As soon as the lead actor is finalized, the filming will start. The debut is scheduled in winter 2006.

Song Hye Kyo sent her fans a personal greeting via video at her official site! It was just posted on May 10, 2006 but the actual message was filmed in March when she had a photo shoot for Innisfree Skin Care Products. here is the translation of what she said:

Hello, how are you? This is Song Hye Kyo. It has been a while since I last sent my greetings. Since "My Girl and I," I've been resting and filming CF [advertisments]. Today I filmed a CF for Innisfree Skin care products and just finished right now. I know that everyone is waiting for my new project...as soon as I choose one from among the many drama and movie scripts, I will let everyone know. It is now Spring...everyone will do a lot of traveling, please be careful to not catch a cold and always stay healthy. I wish you a warm Spring and same for me too [laughs] Stay healthy and next time I'll send another greeting. Thank you.
