![]() The Beast Stalker Yahoo News Nick Cheung enjoys fighting scenes. Hong Kong actor Nick Cheung takes on his first villain role in new movie, "Beast Stalker", as a ruthless kidnapper. Also in the show is Nicholas Tse plays a man seeking redemption after the manslaughter of a female prosecutor's daughter. The clashes between both characters pack quite a fair bit of action scenes; there were even news of Cheung almost losing his sight. Cheung is known for his works in comedy and theatrical performance; but when it came to fighting scenes and action sequences, instead of complaining, he actually enjoys it greatly. "Both the film and stunt directors are very professional and supportive. Frankly speaking, there wasn't much difficulty during filming," shares Cheung. While Cheung makes great effort in exploring his role, he draws the line well not to bring home the negative mood. When on set, he focuses 100% on his script. "That's the way it is for any good actors; you have to keep in character at the right time," he says. Nicolas Tse has issues with crying scenes. Film director Dante Lam, known for his crime and action movies, highlights his admiration for Cheung's persevering attitude and even finds him to be too serious. Lam also says that Tse's performance in the movie has allowed him to see a different side of the latter. A second collaboration after an eight years interval, Lam observes the growth in Tse's acting abilities from a mere pop singer to a professional actor; perhaps the trial and tribulations through the years have accumulated much training and experience into his act. In one of the scenes Tse shed tears with a little girl in his arms, creating a heart wrenching scene. Lam reveals that Tse initially has his reserves for the scene and had discussed with him if the scene was necessary. Lam emphasized that he has to get into the character to truly feel the importance of the scene or all the efforts prior to it would have gone to waste. "The Beast Stalker" has come a long way before finally getting onto the big screen. From conceptualizing to the actual shooting, the production team faced many problems which in a way coincide with the underlying message in the movie. Lam hopes to convey his view of life through the three main characters, by the issues that they are faced with and how they solve them on their own. Despite the looming sad emotions that shroud "Beast Stalker", Lam says, "where there's a will, there's a way; life is still full of hope." "The Beast Stalker" is different from the trio's usual work. Do catch the movie in theatres now to see how they fair and find out how the story transpires. |
