AF's Official Graphics Request Thread, Please read the rules!! Rating Options

Due to popular demand-- and the growing popularity of our Creative Boutique-- we have decided to open up an Official Graphics Request Thread. This is where users can request for graphics for their personal websites or even for AF threads, etc. The difference is that they've got to pay, and they get to choose.

As such, EVERYONE who posts in this thread MUST follow these rules:

Requesters:

1. CREDIT is an ABSOLUTE MUST.

2. You MUST post your request in this thread. Below is a template for your convenience:

AF Username:
Type of Graphic: Avatar, Banner, Header, Background, Poster, Wallpaper, etc.
If Applicable, Specifications: for example, dimensions and/or size. Keep in mind the AF Rules for signatures and avatars
Requested Celebrities, Colors, and/or Theme:
If Applicable, Pictures You Want Used:
If Applicable, Text:
Is there a deadline? If so, state:
AFz Offered:

3. You MUST offer AFz as a prize. The "winning" Designers (if you pick more than one design to use, you must pay each Designer; if you pick more than one design from one Designer, you must pay that Designer twice) MUST be awarded a minimum of 25 AFz. The AF Crew will not be "donating" AFz to you; you MUST have the AFz on hand yourself.

4. It would be nice if you offered a few AFz to anyone who submits a design. However, because not everyone has a ton of AFz lying around, this is up to you.

5. If there's a Designer you'd like to take on your graphic, you can contact them via their CB Thread... with a link to your request post. It is the prerogative of the designer to DECLINE, however. Do NOT pressure or harass them.

6. Once you have CHOSEN a graphic/are satisfied with a design, it is YOUR responsibility to announce it in the thread. You MUST let the Designer know that you have chosen his design, and you MUST pay them the AFz you promised. A moderator (or you yourself) can then edit your original request post to say "COMPLETE."

Designers:

1. You can take on any request you like. You can ignore any request you want. If a Requester is harassing you unduly, please contact one of the moderators, and we will deal with it accordingly.

2. Some of the Requesters may offer AFz to anyone who submits a design; some may not. Please read carefully.

3. If a Requester has chosen your graphic, he/she should let you know. If, after announcing that it has been picked, he/she does NOT give you the promised AFz, contact one of the moderators, and we will deal with it accordingly.

I have a question about submissions, Tam.

When I talked about this thread with you previously, I thought it was going to be a sub-forum like over at the series threads in the 'Entertainment' sections. So everyone who requests stuff can start their own topic and then the topic can be closed when the request is complete. (kind of like the translation request forum).

Do you think it will be confusing here when there are a bunch of requests and submissions going on all at the same time?

Or should most of be done through PM?

^ I agree with Tiffiany's idea. Though I think it should still be kept in the Creative Boutique, it will be less confusing if there was a subforum for these requests. Personally I don't think I would bother going back through all the posts to see if a request was missed. I can definitely see this thread getting very messy.

But I really like the idea though. It's much more convenient to make sporadic graphics for people now rather than opening a thread.

*Remember, this is a banner that will represent our group and will be broadcasted to many different people online (specifically the fansubbing community), not just on AF.

Also, I thought of the idea to use rainbows as the theme because they're "intangible," so, if possible, try to represent that!

Hi, Tiffiany! I decided to make some, too. But I'm a newbie, and it was really practice for me (blending), so I really don't want any AFz for submitting. (Truly.)

Okie, first I made two icons Haha.

The first doesn't have text on it yet (well, not any that I'm okay with), but that can be easily remedied:





Then, I made two banners; the second one has different types of text:
For the banners, I went with 850 x 350. I know it's a little bit bigger than you wanted, but I figured that height was better than width
(They look better at their original size, I think.)

Tam, don't worry about it being dark. It's nice to have a variety.

The text is always fixable/editable, luckily I'm really glad that you like it!

I tried to change part of the scarf; results below:
Basically, I was thinking that it would make more sense for the rainbow to be farther away from her hand... like it's leaving her fingertips and being cast into the sky? Err, I don't know if the result's so great though... haha, I have limited skills, sadly. But I made the text glow rainbow!

Haha, yay, that's actually what I was going for. Glad we both understand what we meant!

Okie, I fiddled with it a bit more. I think I'm okay with the different effects I've done; anyways, if you wind up wanting to use a version of the banner, any of the effects you see on the banners are pretty much "transferable" to each other. So you can pick the text on one and the scarf effect on another, etc.

For this new version, I followed a suggestion from MoonlightD; I made the scarf brighter, and the text is plain white:

Sorry for making so many versions. To allow the page to load faster, I'll definitely unlink the first two versions of the banner (where the text was too dark)

^ lol i take back what I said about the completely white. Now that I see it, maybe still keep some rainbow around it, but less than the previous version. And if you don't mind, maybe you could try more of a fading effect in terms of brightness for the rainbow ribbons after the scarf? I think that should create more of the look I said in my other post, but I'm not exactly sure.

So, umm... catalie, I DON'T think I really followed your specifications at all, but I thought I'd practice banner-making (this is my second time! working to make signature type graphics) I can't say I'm super-happy with the way they came out, but I thought I'd post them up, anyways. Ok guys! The results are out!!!!

Tammy's Blue Banner won for the website!!!! <3 The site isn't up yet so I'm not able to show you how it looks and it probably won't be up for a while, but I will definitely link it here when it is!!!

Also, we decided to use the 2nd place banner as our forum (base of operations) banner! And none of you have seen that one because × d0ggiel0ver PMed it to me! However, once she won, I doubt she'll have a problem with me posting it up now:



As for everyone else, THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH for submitting your work! Please don't be disheartened! When we get tired of our current banners we might use yours in the future! <3
