More "Gokusen" cast details, Wednesday May 27, 2009 Japan Options

With "Gokusen: The Movie" less than a couple months away, a new announcement has revealed that six more actors from the drama's earlier seasons will be returning, including Shun Oguri and Mocomichi Hayami.

The movie is already known to focus on the cast of the show's third season, which aired in 2008. It was previously announced that Yuya Takaki, Haruma Miura, and Yuta Tamamori are part of the main cast. At the end of last month, it was also revealed that the second season's Kazuya Kamenashi was added to the cast.

Now, the number of returning alumni has again increased, adding three students each from the drama's first two seasons. Oguri will represent the first season, along with Yuma Ishigaki and Hiroki Narimiya. From the second season, Hayami will be joined by Teppei Koike and Keisuke Koide.

Although all six played delinquent students in their respective seasons, they have grown up to become respectable members of society. Together with Kamenashi's character, who has become a teacher in training, these graduates will lend their support to the beloved teacher "Yankumi," played by starring actress Yukie Nakama. This movie is said to be Nakama's last time to take on this role.

Filming for the movie finished on May 13. The picture opens in theaters on July 11.

Up until the 3rd season, I was hoping for just a small teeny-weeny bit of Sawada Shin. I'd be happy if it was just a small cameo. Just to give closure on the hanging romance between Shin and Yankumi... But that didn't happen...

When the news of the Gokusen Movie came out. My hopes went up again. I just need to know what happened to Sawada Shin... And... And... You know... ShinKumi...

But ALAS!!!

They killed my last bit of hope for a ShinKumi Reunion...

^I agree, if they could get Matsumoto Jun in it as well, it would be totally paradise but as it stands this movie is going to be eye candy overload as it is xDD MatsuJun would just push it over the tip lol

I love Nakama Yukie but it's kinda unfair she gets to go to work everyday having to deal w/ all these boys!

Anyways, can't wait for the movie... Yankumi fight-o!! xP

Oguri and Hiroki Narimiya! Mocomich and Teppei and Keisuke! I can die die die! So happy! But it's odd to have Kame back as teacher in training...this is a role I would expect to be for Jun...no offense, but really...he has what it takes to be a teacher. Brains to teach and to deal with delinquents and the heart to do so. Plus, he's like the main guy from the whole gokusen story! Why isn't he back??? I'm so disappointed!

I wish Jin and Jun would join the cast as well, even for a cameo role.
After Gokusen, I really wanted to see the relationship development between Shin and Yankumi, but I guess Arashi is pretty busy now.

i'm tired and become disinterested after so many seasons of gokusen. but if there's OGURI SHUN & HAYAMI MOKOMICHI in the movie, I'D DEFINITELY WATCH IT!!!!! ^^

I'm so happy that some of the original students from season 1 are back; Shun, Hiroki & Yuma I wish the rest of them will come back too, especially Jun! I miss them all! But having 3 of the originals back is still exciting enough!

and no one cares for jin

As far as we know now, Jin won't be back...and neither is Jun...I think it's because Jun's character 'Sawada Shin' is the central character of all the students in the 3 seasons, he's the most popular student of all, so it's understandable most would want to see him back.

And besides, all the students from seasons 2 and 3 are mere carbon copies of the original students in G1...that's 1 reason why I didn't like G2 and G3.

yay! i'm happy to hear that Oguri Shun and Kame will be in the movie.....now, it's just Matsumoto Jun left to have the perfect cast for the movie....i'm more interested in the movie now that i kno Oguri and Kame will be in it.....hopefully, the fans' requests will be granted and come true for Jun to be casted in the movie too....
