BIOGRAPHY

Kim Kibum was born in Seoul, South Korea but moved to Santa Monica, California, United States at the mere age of ten, where he attended middle school and Santa Monica High School. It was not until several years later when he was discovered by a talent agent from South Korea and was recommended to audition for the Starlight Casting System 2002. Kibum soon signed under SM Entertainment and became their official trainee, being trained in areas of singing, acting, dancing, and other performing talents.

Kim's first official appearance and debut was on April 21, 2004 when he appeared on a Korean television drama April Kiss. A year later in February 2005, his talent agency announced that Kim would make a second debut as a singer, being a member of the large all-boy group Super Junior. Before the group's debut Kim starred as the first male lead in Sharp 2, alongside Go Ara and fellow Super Junior member Kim Heechul. Super Junior made their official debut on November 6, 2005, in SBS's Popular Songs, performing their first single, "TWINS (Knock Out)". Kim is known for his English rapping ability in the group and remains as one of the lead rappers of Super Junior. As Kim's activities with Super Junior began to occupy most of his schedule, he was only given a small role in Marrying a Millionaire, playing the young Kim Young-hoon. However he soon starred in Rainbow Romance as the lead actor for 243 episodes along with Kim Heechul. During the fall of 2006, he reunited with Go Ara once again to star in the SBS drama Snow Flower.

Aside from acting and singing activities, Kim is seen participating in runway modelling and appearing in advertisements for KTF, C&C phone, NF Sonata, OLIVE, My Chew, Ottogi Noddle with bandmate Kim Heechul and co-star Go Ara, and Elite Uniform with his SM senior BoA. He is also seen in many other ads with fellow Rainbow Romance co-star, Ahyoomee.

[News] Down with leg injury, member KiBum will not be participating for Super Junior Concert

Super Junior KiBum has been known to have injured his legs and will not be participating for Super Junior’s concert opening in July.

It was known that KiBum fell down while exercising on 13th June and had to receive treatment for 6 weeks. His injured left leg will also have to be in a cast.

The physician who tended to KiBum’s injuries, “It is not advisable for him to take part in the powerful dance steps for the concert, he should be careful with is injury and is advisable not to participate in the concert.”

KiBum said, “I’m so sorry to be off trouble. Even though it is a shame that I cannot take part in the concert, I’m sure the other members will present great performances in my stead. Please do look forward to Super Junior’s concert.”

Super Junior’s 2nd concert ‘The 2nd ASIA TOUR ‘SUPER SHOW Ⅱ’ will be held from 17th till 19th June in Seoul.

- OMG NO! WHY!? We were all looking forward to seeing Kibum in SS2! Unbelievable. How sad. (T_T) When will we see Kibum again? But why can't he just show up in a wheelchair? Sometimes I think they or he make up reasons for him not to participate in SuJu activities. But eh, I feel bad for Kibum. I hope he isn't feeling too much pain. Get well soon! KIBUM'S MESSAGE ON WAWA GIRL MAGAZINE JULY ISSUE 2009

Everyone has missed me right?
Truthfully, looking at myself in the CF,
I still feel a little awkward.
It's the first time I tied up my hair, wore sleeveless white Tee and a blue jacket, and matched it with a printed pants
Through the CF this time, I showed a different side of me, and I feel very happy (doing that).
Naturally playing around with the mobile in the CF and saying those stuff were arranged before that
But why don't everyone think of it as my everyday writing and taking photos?
Usually it's 13 of us moving together, this time appearing alone in front of the camera, I felt refreshed yet nervous. I know, everytime I am unable to have activities with Super Junior, many people will wonder why.
Kim Kibum has always been living healthily.
This time, (I) even took part in Super Junior's 3rd album recording and MV filming. Truthfully I wish even more to show the actor side of me to everyone, so I'm cutting down activities as a singer.
But looking at our members standing on stage, I'm missing (everything) dearly.
In March, didn't Super Junior gloriously win 1st on <Mu Bank>'s monthly charts?
That day, Leeteuk hyung shed tears saying, "To Kibum who's in front of the tv now, your Hyungs did it", after listening, I felt like crying...
I know, at that time, I should have been standing there.
Soon, I will be with the other 12 members coming back with a new look, everyone please anticipate.

- Now this is good news! (: Aww Kibummie misses the the group but he really wants to be an actor. If that is what his heart says, I say go for it!
