We all know about JYP's mission to make the Wonder Girls American debut a blinding success and they are now the opening acts for all but 2 of Jonas Brothers concert tour stops until the end of 2009. That effectively means no Korean albums in 2009 for Korean Wonderfuls. The same goes for Big Bang's VIPs when it was announced recently that there were no plans for a 2009 Korean album as well. YG Entertainment's CEO, Yang Hyun Suk revealed recently that Big Bang's leader and fashionista, G-Dragon will be releasing his 1st mini-album on 18th August, coincidentally his 21st birthday. This will be followed by Tae Yang whose 2nd mini-album will be out around September - October. Daesung will also be releasing his own mini-album at the end of the year, and it was stressed that it will not be another trot album. The other 2, T.O.P and Seung Ri will be busy with their respective filming commitments. Big Bang are currently still united though but not in Korea, promoting in Japan which started in June and will end in July. Thereafter, the individual Big Bang members will disperse to pursue their own projects. Yang Hyun Suk said, "Many are hoping to see another Big Bang album this year. But because of their Japan promotions and subsequent solo projects thereafter, it's not possible for them to do so. We hope that the fans will understand and continue to show their support for their solo projects." No Wonder Girls nor Big Bang in 2009. The same goes for MC Mong, Lee Hyori and others which I can't remember. The K-pop scene of 2009 looks so lonely without them. With less than 1/2 of 2009 to go, hopefully someone steps up to the plate. source: kbites |

It's okay, we're still going to see lots of Big Bang because 3/5 of the members are still releasing music.
Can't wait for GD's solo, it's going to be so amazing. |

hmm...its kind of sad for korea when these groups start leaving to other countries to do their promotions. I think we won't see wonder girls for a while, but at least the big bang members are releasing their individual albums

As a new fan of Big Bang, that's bad news.. Or not coz the fans would surely be waiting for the group to be whole again after they're done with their individual jobs.. it would be a blast!
Looking forward to G-Dragon, Tae Yang & Daesung's mini album.. Seung Ri & T.O.P's screen projects!! |

wow looks like Big Bang has taken a ride on the stardom bus. i thought they wouldn't do this. they are the only korean group i listen to. I was hoping that they do what they been doing the last 2 years and dominate the last half of the year but i guess it means the next will be next year's first half which rarely has the best music. but i guess i just have to wait longer....

The Kpop scene is definitely looking rather barren without the main groups.
I hope that Big Bang don't do a DBSK and start placing a lot of emphasis on Japan and neglecting Korea. Because as much as I adore DBSK, I can't deny that they spend a LOT more time in Japan than they do in Korea. So, as much as I wish Big Bang the best of luck in Japan too, hopefully they'll realise how much Korea loves them PS. Good luck to both WG and BB! (: oh and I can't wait for BB's solo projects! hehe |

aah..and I was looking forward to seeing big bang more this year. Even if they were to do solo projects, it would never be the same unless they act as a group.

well now that all the big groups are out of the way the smaller fish can be seen lmao ok lame but yu know waht i mean with 2pm shinee snsd 2ne1 n 4min ect there is still competition although its not huge as dbsk or bb but it will open doors for other talents to be discover.. if any lolzx. but suju made a comeback this earlier half. n the snsd gee syndrome blah blah blah. for the later hlaf they are more into thier solo project so yu'll still see em.
i dun think big bang can pull a dbsk on korea -.- i dun think any kroean boy band can. first big bang are more into thier solo or acting not like dbsk who doesnt branch out and stick to thier passion for music. jap oricon is very competitive n to stand out they need a very unique artist or group. big bang does stand out but they arent gonna be committeed into startin off as fresh debutees again. its a long road to success for foreigner in jap and true success. not to mention the amount of pressure on the sales. i dun think bb can handle the pressure although as a group. they still arent that close altogether yet. |

oh WOW. i never expect to see NO WONGER GIRLS or BIG BANG for 2009! D: dang, like everyone said here, looks like the Korean music scene will be VERY VERY EMPTY for the latter part of the year cause DBSK won't be coming back as well! ;_; but i supposed newbie groups like 2am/pm. 2ne1. 4minutes. and others like SNSD. Kara can take over for a while! XDDDDD
yeah. cause WG is on their American Tour, and really i wonder how long that's going to take before they come back! XD and of course Big Bang is starting to break out in Japan, though i THOUGHT for SURE BB said they were coming back in the 2009?! XD ummm. it actually looks like maybe BB are REALLLY taking the whole Japanese duet seriously then! 8D but they will have a long way to go. XDD though wishing good luck to both groups! 8D so, DANGGGGGGG. it seems like 2010 willl ONCE again be like 2008--- oh gosh. it's going to be SO AMAZINGG cause all the groups willl be coming back and BATTLING EACH OTHER. dang. i can't wait to see how this turns out! :DDDDD This post has been edited by ♥ lavender rain: Jul 7 2009 1 55 AM |
