Zune HD vs iTouch 3G? Options

I am planning to buy a new mp3 in Sept.

Which one is better, Zune HD or the iTouch 3G (that suppose to come out) or the iTouch 2G??

Zune HD is coming out on Spet 15th, while the iTouch 3G is supposed to come out on Sept 9th.


The pros that the Zune has are OLED screen and the Tegra.
The cons are is Mircosoft and lacks of apps.

The pros that the iTocuh has are the apps and the camera (for the 3G).
The cons are the screen and the iTunes.

Zune HD for me, better screen, more features (i.e., 720p output, hd radio and integration with xbox live for movies and etc).

It seems the new iTouch is load of craps beside the apps.

It only features a better processor and nothing else.

And is 300 for the 32GB/400 for the 64GB.

The 8 GB one is still the old version but for 200.

The Zune HD is 220 for the 16GB while the 32GB is 290.

Now I just gonna wait until the hand-on reviews on the Zune HD.

depends on what you're looking for... if its music and videos, the zune is a better deal... however.... the itouch has much more applications (games, utilities, etc) that make it a much more versatile device than the zune.

Hardware is only as useful as the software available for it. It doesn't matter how powerful a processor you've got if there isn't anything to run on it. So I'm inclined to go with the iPod Touch. Plus, there will be a lot more hardware addons for the iPod Touch than the Zune HD, like the TomTom GPS car kit.

I like the zune hd better with its oled screen and the capability to play 720p content. Adding software support for the device shuld be easy too, since it is ms.

Haha. That would be the iPhone there buddy. It costs less initially compared to the iTouch but it will add up seeing that you need to pay AT&T for phone services plus an extra $30 month for the required data plan that goes with the iPhone. So yeah don't get it unless you're rich. Although, eventually the iPhone will become available on other mobile phone services so pretty much everyone can get one if they want.

In my opinion, I'd stick with the iTouch. (For me, I just trust the brand and quality. I have like 6 different kinds of iPods.) And I know of only one person who has a Zune. I see iTouchs everywhere.

Actually.. You don't have to pay for AT&T for an iPhone. If you want one you can buy one from me or from eBay that is unlocked. Also the new iPhone 3GS is generally sold on all different networks. Also theres more iPhones then iTouches but anyway...

If your looking for a lot of features, I'd get the new Nokia N97. The Zune came out ages ago, and though I think when i first heard about it like 2 years ago I thought it was amazing, sharing stuff through whatever the connection it called. The con is that not many people actually have a Zune, so there is less available features as opposed to the generic Apple products who have so many apps available on iTunes - additionally a lot of the apps are free or around $1.

It also depends on what you look for in a mp3. Do you just want music? Stick to something simple then.
Want videos? There's a lot of other brands who are 3 times cheaper.
The camera? ... Buy a camera or use a mobile.
Apps and Games? Definitely a pspgo, ninetendo DS if you already have a mp3/mp4, or else buy an iTouch or iPhone.


What I think well of the Zune, is its technical specifications as vulkan said... better screen.

You confused that with the iPhone. Just consider the price though and what you want. Consider if the extra features is worth the price. Consider how long your gunna keep it too. A year? Two years?

You mean the iPhone and not the iTouch. The itouch is just a music player/media player. the iPhone is great but crap camera and bloody expensive though!
