Hi everyone! Most Koreans really hate the Japanese, even up to this time...Are there Koreans here who are more open and do not find anything worng with the Japanese?

Please speak up, let your voices and opinions/stand be heard by your fellowmen.

I don't know for sure, but it seems to me that Koreans are on bad terms with practically all other asians. Before I actually started listening to kpop, I was adamantely opposed to anything korean. I had just come across too many situations where they were full of themselves and wouldn't stop bragging. Idk if this is just a severe case of nationalism, but it is really annoying. So, I don't really think that it is just japanese that are anti-korean. Koreans just tend to bring it upon themselves.

loool.gif These nothing do with 'putting up no foreigners allow signs'
Like in restaurants, bars, and public places like Clubs in Japan.

Japanese even shouting "go back to your country" at foreign tourists.

You mean like the banner in the second article that says "Foreigners off limit place"? Comes with a picture of the banner as well. Granted it doesn't say "no foreigners allowed" to the word, I think the message is the same relatively the same.

Or the first one that blatantly states that service is refused to foreigners at a bar (much like the public places you list in your example)?

The backwards society you lament about remains the same. Denial of service remains the same. If they deny you service as in the first article or if they create a banner to deny you the service in the second article, it doesn't really make too much of a difference and i'm still not sure how you can view it that much different from a "sign" because the backward context you state is still there.

You must be really desperate to bring "prostitutes refusing to service foreigners" , compare this to Japanese putting up signs saying 'No foreigners allowed" at public places and restaurants.

Have you ever visited Korea and Japan?

I don't see why people can't just get along! Also on youtube you can see videos of this racist group in japan that hates foreigners and especially koreans, theres one video where they stand next to the perimeter fence thats right next to the off loading point at the docks in japan and there happens to be koreans getting off and then the protestors tell the koreans to go back home is an abusive manner!

In the UK all of this would be illegal because racial abuse, incitement to racial hatred are all criminal offences.

But you once said that only Japan does this. It seems you now are creating inventing exceptions and clauses which shows how weak your original statement is to begin with.

You also disregard the other post about educators who are denied service in bars, which is a public place according to you. It doesn't say if it was with a sign but I'm sure the intent was no better. Backwards is what you called it.

According to this article, 40% of foreigners feel discrimination in korea. That is 40% of foreigners actually living in korea. An additional 30% said koreans had hostile attitudes towards foreigners. So, it's funny to completely disregard what all these people have to say since they aren't really lower tier workers but investors and professionals.

don't try to use survey from general perception as denial for Japanese racist attack on foreigners.
Only in Japan you would see so many signs with "No foreigners allow" and racial slurs shouting at tourists just arrived at Japan.

compare Korea vs Japan in terms of evidence just provided by me & you.
Japan is truly backward country when Japan opened their doors to foreigners more than 150 years. Korea? just 100 years ago and only South Korea is open, and it wasn't until late 1990s we started see large foreign arrivals in South Korea.

I need to give you more puzzled faces. blink.gif blink.gif blink.gif

You will have to tell me how you link the survey to denial of Japanese attack on foreigners. I don't think that is what the survey says. In fact, I'm the first to bring up (specifically) no foreigners sign in japan so how can i deny this. Please think a bit.

You asked me if I went to Japan or korea but i thought a better answer would be what foreigners in korea think. I don't think you know how foreigners really feel about korea and judging from your responses, that would be true.

And once again, I already showed your original statement many posts ago to be not as concrete as it seems. I don't see anymore relevance to your insistence here.

Not everything said in this thread is "evidence".

Its sad that the new generation is blamed in either country for the past generations mistakes. We as the new generation in all the worlds nations need to respect and like eachother.

That's very good statement.
Yes, we shouldn't blaming each other but why is it today's Japanese still use their past "Korean occupation" as legitimate claims over Dokdo islets as Takeshima islets? and why Japanese still says "Go back to your dirty country" as Korean tourists lend on Japan?

well. as many people have already mentioned, the reason the older generation does not like Japanese is due to the war/occupation. Many Koreans think that Japanese at that time stole Korean culture and made it their own, one example: pottery. There is of-course, also the killings, ruthless beatings, oppression etc etc. But that's all I know of.
And regarding the younger generation's hate towards Japan...well as a Korean raised OUT of Korea, I don't hate Japanese people...one of my best friends is Japanese for goodness sakes.
I personally think its the way Korean people are raised in Korea. Most of the kids are told "how bad the Japanese people are", not were. They are told that so much they start generalizing all Japanese people, past, present and future.
I think it's probably the same story on the Japanese side...maybe not the occupation, oppression, etc stuff but at least the younger generation's theory of mine.

My god. My grandpa/grandma would be livid if they knew I had a best friend who is Japanese O.O

If I was president of the world I'd give that rock pile (and the resources, increased perimeter and whatnot does it really MATTER?!) in the ocean to Japan just to end the ridiculous bickering. I'm Korean but fortunate enough to have been spared most of the race-bash brainwash in a Korean kid's early development that do nothing to push us forward as human beings. I even had myself a really nice Japanese boyfriend once. Amber's right, I think there is hope in the new generation of Japanese and Koreans. They're already showing that they can respect each other and get along, that we can get that tiny bit closer to a peaceful global village. hug.gif

you must be refering to the older generations during the world war times. There might be some koreans that dislike the japanese in this newer generations, but people in general are more open minded now.
