A taiwanese drama starring popular boyband F4, focuses on life after graduation of the four boys. It broadcasted on November 11, 2002, and has a total of 31 episodes. Its opening theme is Jue Bu Neng Shi Qu Ni (Can't Lose You) by F4, and its ending theme is Yan Huo De Ji Jie (The Season of Fireworks) by F4.


Synopsis/Plot
F4 graduates from Ying De Xue Yuan. Dao Ming Si invites Shan Cai to go on F4's graduation trip with them to Spain, which is actually F4's way of letting Shan Cai and Dao Ming Si spend some time alone. Dao Ming Si and Shan Cai becomes inseparable during the trip. Just before Shan Cai and Si leave for Spain, Hua Ze Lei gave Ah Si an envelope with a "smart advice" in it. When Ah Si opens the envelope, he finds that the advice from Hua Ze Lei was to ask Shan Cai to marry him in an old church with a legend. Dao Ming Si buys a "Meteor Ring" which Shan Cai had her eyes on, and prepares to propose to her in a church that had special meanings of "love".

However, on the way to the church, Dao Ming Si gets into a car accident which had causes him to lose his memory. He met Ye Sha at that time, who helps him and looks after him. The sudden disappearance of Ah Si causes Shan Cai to worry, so she asks Jing to help her. The other three members of F4 also came to Spain immediately after they hear the news.

What follows is a story full of ups and downs as Shan Cai tries to find Dao Ming Si and help him regain his memory.

In this continued story of Meteor Garden, the love story of Xi Men and Mei Zuo are shown. The reason why Xi Men is such a playboy is revealed, as well as Mei Zuo's own love story since he was in elementary school.

Jerry Yan

As Dao Ming Si
Leader of F4 and heir to one of the richest family in Taiwan. 3rd Generation Successor to Dao Ming Corporation. He use to be a bully in Ying De, with a hot temper and loves to fight. He’s arrogant and stubborn and would not give up easily on the things that he love. He knows many different languages, because he has to take over the family business in the future. Fell in love with low class San Cai when she refuses to cower under F4’s wrath. Is willing to do anything to be with her and for her, even if it means giving up his inheritance and fighting against his mom. After knowing San Cai, he starts to change from his tyrant ways.

Barbie Xu

As Shan Cai
Comes from a poor low class family and an ordinary girl. But she’s very head strong and hates bullies, especially the likes of Dao Ming Si, when they were in Ying De University. Later falls in love with Dao Ming Si after his many refusals to give up until she loves him back. Had to overcome many obstacles in order to be with Dao Ming Si – one of them being Dao Ming Feng.

Vic Zhou

As Hua Ze Lei
Member of F4 and the quietest among the group. Usually with no expression on his face and very solemn looking. San Cai use to have a crush on him in Meteor Garden, but after falling in love with Dao Ming Si, she became very good friends with Lei. He’s always helping her out through hard times. Loves to sleep and doesn’t want to care about other people’s business. Plays the violin and was in love with Teng Tong Jing for the longest time. However, he soon discovers that the one he truly loves is San Cai. After graduating, he will work in his family’s business, Hua Ze Property Insurance, flying between Taiwan and Japan most of the time.

Ken Zhu

As Xi Men
Member of F4 and also a playboy. His idea of dating women is that they are only good for one week’s time. After graduating, also works in family’s company, Xi Men Corporation, as a Manager. Usually the calmer member of the group and constantly have to calm Mei Zuo down when he gets violent or loses his temper. The only girl that was able to get through to him is Xiao You. However, she left for Canada before they had a chance to develop their relationship toward each other.

Vanness Wu

As Mei Zuo
Member of F4 and a playboy. He likes dating older women especially those that are married. Is very good friends with the other F3 and afterwards, even is very caring toward San Cai. Works in family’s company after graduating. Starts to change from his ‘playboy’ ways after meeting with Xiao Qiao.

Michelle Saram

As Ye Sha
Lives in Spain with her good friend, Sha Ge. Is an artist and sells paintings for a living. Travels around the world to see places all the time. Has a good heart and has some sort of terminal illness, which pushes her to enjoy life day by day. Toward the latter half of the show, it is revealed that she is actually a member of the imperial Bhutan Kingdom, a Royal Princess, who ran away from home because she didn’t like the role and life that she had.

Teng Tang Jing (portrayed by Winnie Qian Wei Shan):

A childhood friend of F4 and Lei’s first love. She’s two years older than F4. She’s the one that drew Lei out of his ‘shell’ when he was a kid. Also comes from a rich family, but gave up her inheritance in Meteor Garden in order to follow her dreams and moved to France. Later also becomes good friends with San Cai. Shows up briefly in Meteor Garden II and wants to get back together with Lei, but was rejected by him instead.

Ying Xiao Qiao (portrayed by Pace Wu Pei Ci):

Daughter of the President of Jun Li Construction. Is a very quiet and nice girl. Studied abroad in America and got a Master’s Degree in Music. Is great with playing the cello. Set up by her mom and Mei Zuo’s mom to ‘meet’ with him. Went on a couple of dates with Mei Zuo and was at first rejected by him because he didn’t want his mom to be making all the decisions for him. As time goes on and after a slap to his face, he ‘woke up’ and began to date seriously with her.

Chan Qing He (portrayed by Edward Ou Ding Xing):

San Cai’s best friend since Junior High School. His family is not rich like F4’s but still is better off than San Cai’s. Goes to Ying De University with San Cai. Has a crush on San Cai for the longest time and always looking out for her in her times of troubles.

Sha Ge:

Ye Sha’s good friend who looks after her in Barcelona, Spain. He works in a winery that grows grapes and makes wines. Takes care of Ye Sha like a brother does, always looking after her.

Ah Lun:

Owner of Orange Café, where Dao Ming Si works before he went to work at Dao Ming Corporation. Is very stingy and afraid of his wife.

Yi Ling:

Wife of Ah Lun. Is a very vain woman and constantly looking into a mirror to fix her make up.

Da Xin:

Worker at the Orange Café. Is a good friend of Ah Lun’s from the school days.

Dao Ming Feng (portrayed by Zhen Xiu Zhen):

Dao Ming Si’s mom. She’s very strict, mean and likes yelling at people. Everything has to be perfect and precise and will not allow for any imperfections. Looks over the family business, owner of a chain of hotels called Maple Hotel, has a lot of power and is very good at what she does. Doesn’t like San Cai or low class people. She believes that San Cai is not good enough for Ah Si and thinks up of many ways to separate the two. She will not hesitate to do anything in order to break the two of them apart.

San Cai’s Dad (portrayed by Dong Zhi Cheng):

He had a job back in Meteor Garden, but because of down sizing from the company, he was laid off. Moved off to the fishing village with San Cai’s mom after the lay off to find a job as a fisherman. Comes back in Meteor Garden II to live with San Cai and works as a car salesman. Constantly bickers with San Cai’s mom.

San Cai’s Mom (portrayed by Wang Yue):

Stays at home as a housewife. Sends San Cai to Ying De University, the school for the rich, in hopes that San Cai can meet a rich guy and marry into a rich family. Was very happy when she found out that San Cai and Dao Ming Si was dating.

Grandma or Zhang Xiao Hong (portrayed by Jiao Jiao):

Dao Ming Si and Ye Sha’s landlady. She rents them the apartment where they are living at in Taiwan after leaving the place that Sha Ge’s relative lent them.

Grandpa or Gao President (portrayed by Zang Gong):

He’s the President of a company that DMF wants to have a merger with. Very kind hearted old man. Is Grandma’s boyfriend from college. But because of a misunderstanding between the two, they were apart for 30 years. With the help of both San Cai and Ye Sha, he was able to get back together with Grandma and emigrate with her to Canada.

Mimi (portrayed by Megan Lai Ya Yan):

A new student in Ying De University. Didn’t have enough money to pay for her tuition on the day of registration and was helped by Qing He, who lends her the money. Ever since then, she develops a crush for Qing He and later starts dating with him.

Ah Mei (portrayed by Li Khang Yi):

She owns an ice shop out in the country side area. Met up with San Cai when San Cai was running away to hide from all the things that are happening between her, Dao Ming Si and Ye Sha back in Taipei. A very loud, sometimes rude, girl that later befriends San Cai when their misunderstandings are cleared up. Is always followed around by these 3 guys (members of the Comic Boyz band) in the show. But she has her eyes only for Lei and professes her love to him and wants to be his girlfriend. Later becomes good friends with Lei when she finds out that the one Lei loves is San Cai.

Ah De (portrayed by Liu Geng Hong):

Ah Mei’s brother. He’s the one that meets San Cai on a train and that’s where the misunderstanding between San Cai and Ah Mei comes in. He wasn’t a very good guy in the past, stealing and robbing people for this girl that he likes. However, he returns home to Ah Mei in hopes of starting over and being a good guy. But because of his past “record” Ah Mei is constantly not trusting him and questioning about his ways. With the help of San Cai and Lei, Ah Mei and Ah De were able to patch their “bad” relationship. In the process, San Cai finds out that Ah De is actually the one that stole the meteor star ring from Ye Sha and Dao Ming Si’s apartment when they first arrived in Taiwan.

I've just watched episode 17.. Shancai needs someone and she thinks of Lei but don't call him to not abuse of his friendship and 3 seconds later he's the one who's calling her to offer his company and his shoulder.. how magic is that?
Si can't compare to Lei.. the only sure thing I know about MG is the only sure thing Shancai realized clearly "Though I don't know what the end is like I'm sure that if I ever reach there I will find you there too"

I did not really like MG2, I feel sorry for those who watched Part 2 first. I actually know someone would did and totally got turn off. No amount of convincing could get her to watch MG. Lei is my favorite character since MG1 and I like him pretty much from the very beginning.

I hated that they put Lei and San Cai together and then pretty much tear them apart. The scene in that village that San Cai went to get away was really cute but my heart hurted for Lei when DMS came for SC. If DMS stayed away San Cai and Lei would probably end up together. I wanted that to happen since part one. [/spoiler]

I think that Part 2 would have been better if they concentrated a little more on the 3 other guys instead of making a whole plot of seperating SC and DMS with the anmensia. They could have SC and DMS trust challenge like SC takes an internship at a company and some employee or CEO son falls in love with her and DMS is jealous. Things like that happen in between story on Xi Men, Mei Juo and Lei.

I suspect many people who hated this drama was mainly because of the dramatic separation of SC and DMS and the appearance of YS...others were disappointed because Lei and SC didn't end up together.

For me personally, this sequel is to some extent a disappointment, but it's not entirely shameful, at least, not on SC and Lei's account. I'm actually glad that I had watched this, if I hadn't, then I would not have seen the spectacular growth in the chemistry between SC and Lei I only watched this for their sake! Though I was very disappointed by the fact that after everything Lei has done for SC, she still ended up with that idiotic DMS But I was still happy because SC and Lei spent alot of time together!

That's because that kind of things suck. It's not even the style of the serie.. from the first episode there's always someone crying. If they wanted to use amnesia they had to do it in another way. Since they were plunning to make SC and DMS end up together they had to let her be the one helping him right from the start, he could learn to be himself again because of her, instead he's more childish then ever, and the one who always protect her, putting her before himself end up broken hearted
I've only watched until episode 20, but from what I saw, the real realtionship, the mature and deep one is the one between Lei and Shancai, if they wanted me to believe SC and DMS are meant for each other they for sure used the wrong way

That's the only reason I'm watching it too. In my eyes Lei and Shancai are a perfect couple, I just wait everytime for a their scene together I can't belive how strong he can be. They wanted to try something different, but sometimes it's difficult for people to adjust to different...If they wanted the audiences to believe that SC and DMS are meant to be, then that plan certainly backfired Instead of drawing them closer together, they actually pulled them furthure apart. The story just doesn't make much sense on SC and DMS behalf, I mean, how can they expect us to believe that they belong together when for most of the time, they are furthure apart from each other? They were separated from ep 2 onwards till the very end! They got back together again at the very last minute of the drama! Their "love" is certainly very un-convincing It's certainly NO match to that un-deniable special bond between SC and Lei!
The only aspects of this sequel which I love is SC and Lei, and that very strong bond they have, it's un-breakable! I do like MZ and XQ's story too.

Meteor Garden 2 was practically bullshit. Except for the part with Xi Men's dad, Mei Zhou and his childhood friend, those were the only interesting parts. Meteor Garden 1 was definitly WAYYY better. I totally regret watching MG2 now.

Since I couldn't wait for the next upload of MGII I finally found a site with the transcript.. and now I'm really about to cry .. how a girl can let go of Lei and not loving him for the resto of her life and with avery breath in her body is behind my comprension, please, someone need to make me understand this because I'll go crazy. He look at her and see her soul and she knows him by heart.. and still they are not together (and whenever I watch this sho they so reminds me of Dawson&Joey from DC.. ).

i finally wacthed MG2 and felt so sad that there weren't that many scenes on my Lei. I was like, what the h*LL? why all daomingsi and Yesha. I didn't care if there weren't many scenes on Lei and SC, but at least there had to be more scenes on Lei like back in MG but then the result was none. hardly any scenes..therefore, i totally AGREE with all people that the only reason MG2 stayed alive was because of Lei otherwise everything else just went down the drain. I'm really disappointed with the director and the changing of the script. the first 3 episodes started out kind of interesting but then the story really dragged as it deveoped.

true, i felt Lei's pain. That quiet and secretly helping hand for Shancai was just heartbreaking. I loved him for that. It made me love him more.

Anyways, I'm still very disappointed w/ this drama, but I'm going back to watch this whole series again because I forwarded it too much the first round watching it so i assume i missed so many Lei parts that's why i felt there weren't many scenes on him.

I'm on episode 25 and I don't hate MG2 at all. I don't see a good valid reason to hate it much. But I'm waiting for soembody to upload each ep on youtube so I guess it's the waiting that makes it worthwhile. It's not bad. I don't like how Lei is completely missing from the episodes soemtimes but eh. MG1 is better in comparison but MG2 isn't unbearable. Ionno. 5 more episodes.

By the way, I really think u should finish watching this, though it's disappointing about the ending...but I've always thought that watching a story playing out right in front of u is always better than reading about it, because u can feel that spark and essence of the story better...at least finish it for Lei's sake

hey, I started watching Silence at youtube and I'm loving it. Wow, ZaiZAi is just as gorgeous as ever. And I think he makes a very good couple with Megan Lai because she's very pretty in here. I like her in here a lot more than in Mars because I didn't pay attention to her in Mars at all, but here's she's really attractive to me. Like her and Vic lots! As for the lead actress, no answer. I seriously don't find her attractive. Not liking her that much.

True! I loved both MG 1 and 2 although I was very disappointed there were fewer scenes on Lei in part 2. So pissed but I swear he shined the screen everytime he appeared!

I think it's pretty clear I'm totally in love with Lei . It's just the same with Lind and Qi Wei Yi so I guess is Vic's fault . I think that probably I concentrate more on Lei because IMO he deserved so much more then what he had , well... and even because of his insight in people's hearts, his strenght so not evident, his kindness..
All Vic's characters have something that makes me fall for them..

I've watched 7 episodes last night, infact my mom caught me up at 03:00 am I know I shouldn't go so fast since the show isn't over yet so I'll have to wait anyway but I can't herl myself. I think in MG1 was pretty natural for Shancai to be with Daoming Si but I also think that is Lei was there during all the show, whitout keeping to send him away we had alot of chance to see him with Shancai, but he was a too hard obstacle for DMS so they sent him away.. and about MG2... well I don't think I have to say more. The worst, illogical finale ever

Lol me too! I'm totally in love with Vic! I'm in love with every character he played; Lei, Ling, Wei Yi etc! ALL of them! Out of all the characters he's played, I'm MOST in love with Ling!
Yeah, I've written some fanfics of my own, even sequels to MG2 and 'Mars'! but I haven't gotten around to updating them for a while now! So I guess I can't blame those authors for not updating their stories, cuz I'm practicully doing the same!

I've just watched episode 25.
Ah Si is stupid and childish as usual - I can't stad him anymore . For all I care he could just drown in episode 24 he would have done me a big favour.
It was really sweet of Meizuo saving the cello from the water, even if part of himself was jelous of what it meant for the girl (I can't remember her name right now).
I miss seeng Xi Men involved with girls.. well, truth is I miss watching him with Xiao You, now he's always thinking about work or worring over that pig head (Ah Si)
The best aprt: obviously Lei Mei has clearly a crush on him. She was watching him with her moth open like she just had a vision - I can't say he's not an amazing vision. He was just perfect, his voice kind and firm telling Shancai to pack up because he had rented a place for her, and the way he talks of her, the way he see her heart so clearly..

i was wondering does anyone have the soundtrack of Meteor Garden 2 or the theme and end song of this serie. wen i was up to the part where jerry lost his memories and all the times he spent with Ye Sha i was so pissed. dont know why but i dont like it wen they focus it on them too much. they dragged this serie too much. i think within 20 esp they cud finish it instead of 31

I've just watched episode 16, even if the subtitles were orrible or there were no subtitles at all.
As usual the timescreen for Daoming Si is been a big boring annoying waste of time
in general, every scene where Lei is not in is boring so I don't give to much attention to them. Anyway if I didn't already knew otehrwise I would have though Shancai and Lei would be together in the end. I liked that Meizuo encouraged them both being together, and I like his adoring look anytime he see Xiaoqiao it's really good to see such a change in him, the second playboy of the group after Xi Men is finding out what is like to have desire for only a person in the world.
Obviously - as always - the best part of the episode was Lei. The first time he made money with his own work he only think of buyng something for Shancai, I don't remember DMS doing such a simple and sweet thing, in my opinion not even the necklace he dave her can compare to this. I loved how she took care of the flowers, she's always very taken by what Lei does for her
Lei was fascinating while he was playing the violin, when the camera showed the face of Shancai it so reminded me of MG1; whatever happens when Lei play the violin her world stop and he's the only one who exist this episode really reminded me alot of MG1 because when he gave her the flowers she was amazed like the time when he gave her his handkeirchief.
Lei and Xaioqiao's duet was really touching

LOL! I love that part too! It was so funny. He did half asleep. It was like he was treating her like a dog by saying she had to behave better.

It has always been very clear that Lei is very devoted to SC, his love and care for her has been very evident in both parts 1 and 2 but it isn't until watching that scene of Lei and Ah Mei at the beach, when u realize Lei really does love SC very much, not only as a close friend, but he also is deeply in love with her he would sacrifice for her, protect her at all costs even though he thinks deep down that he is no match to SC's love for DMS, but Lei doesn't give up on her; he still has hope, he'll always be waiting for her

If u truly understand and can see that special bond between Lei and SC, how can u NOT be touched by it? Lei's ever-lasting devotion and love for SC is something to be envious about
SC may have ended up with DMS, but their "love" in my opinion is NO match to the undeniable strong bond SC has with Lei

I don't know whether it's true but I read somewhere before that the original script of MG 2 is supposed to be LEI ending up with SHANCAI and DMS with YS. Had they stick with the original script, MG 2 would have been better.

True enough the only saving grace of MG 2 was the LEI-SHANCAI episodes.

At any rate, I still find MG 2 a good series even though it has its flaws and errors. The only thing that makes me feel better though is the LEI-SHANCAI fanfictions that end them up together.

SPOILERS AHEAD (to those who haven't seen it, it will save you a lot of time):

This series sucked from the time Dao Ming Si had that car accident and lost his memory. The whole amnesia thing was just stupid, and what's worse the writers had to drag it until the twenty-fourth episode, when he regained it by effin' drowning. If that was the solution, Shan Cai should have drowned the bastard episodes ago, and saved us a lot of time.

I didn't really mind the Ye Sha character, but they just had to make her all dying and sh*t to get our sympathy. She was a great character already, but dying Ye Sha was just plain annoying.

Shan Cai and Lei should've ended up together. They were great (I hear Vic and Barbie fans rejoicing. Shut up. Those zombies can get married and have zombie babies together for all I care). Shan Cai is an idiot.

Thank God for Xi Men and Mei Zuo. They had better subplots than those idiots. It also didn't hurt that they looked pretty damn good in this series. Although, when did Mei Zuo start wearing those flowery shirts? Last time we all saw him, he looked all hiphop and sh*t. Those flowery shirts make him look prettier than his girlfriend. Actually, he was prettier than his girlfriend. I guess the casting directors had a difficult time finding someone who's prettier than Vanness Wu.

Dao Ming Si should've... I don't know. I stuck around basically for Xi Men and Mei Zuo. They were the only things worth seeing. Everybody else is an idiot. Although Mei Zuo is an idiot too, so that makes Xi Men the only normal person. But I digress.

I hate to say it but the saying goes "the first one is always better." This was such a disappointment. I mean there still are alot of hot guys in it, and hot cars, and great scenery but the plot. It sucked. I mean if you watched just this one and not the first one it wouldn't be so bad. But MG2 was most definitely a disappointment.

Finally finished the series. The ending was crap. Ugh.
[spoiler]How could it just end like that. 4 minutes of them actually being a couple again!? Dissapointment! No marriage! No NOTHING! And Lei still can't have SC. This whole thing wasn't bad. It was coming along okay but from the way it was you would think that Lei would be with SC. But that never happens once again. This was a pointless sequel. It doesn't show anything new. They could have made this okay I think. But they made it into crap. WHO IN THE WORLD DECIDES THEIR FATE ON THE CHANCE OF A METEOR SHOWER!? AND THEN NOT EVEN SEEEE THE METEOR SHOWER WHEN IT DOES COME! So many unnecessary aspects were added into this. I liked some of it but the ending was so bad. I wanted DMS and SC together in this one because SC was so resolute on her love for SC. And Ye Sha doesn't die??? That's not resolved either. To make soemthing like this work there should have been a third MG. One that actually has a point. Like DMS and SC get married. And tell us whether Ye Sha lived or died. And Ximen's love life. He had a reputation for being a womanizer and in the sequel there was no women for him at all. And there was nothing more about where DMS is gonna live anymore after his last dispute with his mother. Does he go buy a place and tell SC to live with him? So many possibilities. Moreover I want to see a happy ending for Lei. They created his character to only love SC now that there's no way to please the fans that want him with SC or to give him an agreeable happy ending. This show couls have done without the sequel. I'm glad I saw it though I guess. Lei was still as great as ever. Sigh..[/spoiler]

Really? I've never heard of it...I have doubts about it though...but I agree with u, if it's really true that they originally DID want Lei to end up with SC, then this sequel would most definitely turn out ALOT better if they had sticked to the original storyline! though the idea of Lei with SC will anger SC-DMS fans, but it'll at least win back SOME of the fans!

I totally agree, Lei and SC are what really kept this drama alive and watchable, if it wasn't for their strong chemistry and lovely scenes, then this sequel would've been even worse than it already is though the scriptwriters practically sabotaged this sequel, at least they did SOME justice for the sake of Lei-SC fans

I loved this drama, I don't know why other people hated it.

Everyone prefered part 1 more...the whole YS-DMS business really let down alot of people...and not to mention the ending was disappointing for SC-HZL fans!

Despite the ending, I actually really liked this sequel! Of course mainly because of SC and HZL! Now come to think of it, I actually like both parts equally! I prefer part 1 cuz it was alot funnier...but on the other hand, I prefer part 2 because the SC-HZL bond has grown stronger! it's true, I only care about SC-HZL!

Same for me, whenever I watch this, I always stop after the kiss! It's one of my fav SC-HZL moments! and the best part of it is, DMS saw it! I love seeing him in pain since I hate him so much! hehe I'm evil I know!
